A review of current literature indicates that adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) feel the need for intimate and sexual relationships and maintain such relationships despite and alongside their difficulties in emotional communication, social interactions, reciprocity, and verbal and non-verbal expression. This understanding calls for the development of intervention programs designed to support the specific needs and address the problems of couples where one partner is diagnosed with ASD. In view of the relevance and significant part played by body and movement in emotional development and psychotherapy, the present article offers a review of studies examining the contribution of dance movement therapy to both the quality of life and functioning of adults with ASD and therapeutic processes in couple therapy. This review aims to establish an infrastructure for the construction of intervention programs and for future studies designed to enhance the quality of life and independence of adults with ASD.Most research in environmental psychology is conducted in individualistic countries and focuses on factors pertaining to individuals. It is yet unclear whether these findings also apply to more collectivistic countries, in which group factors might play a prominent role. In the current paper, we test the individual-focused value-identity-behaviour pathway, in which personal biospheric values relate to pro-environmental actions via environmental self-identity, in an individualistic and a collectivistic country. Furthermore, we test in both countries whether a new group-focused pathway also exists, in which group values relate to pro-environmental behaviour via environmental group identity, particularly in collectivistic countries. Questionnaire studies were conducted among Dutch (N = 161) and Chinese (N = 168) students. Our results indicated that personal biospheric values, mostly via environmental self-identity, predict pro-environmental behaviour in both countries. We also found initial support for our newly proposed value-identity-behaviour pathway at the group level, particularly in China. The results revealed some significant differences between countries, and showed that older respondents with previous experience as formal caregivers for end-of-life clients showed greater interest in obtaining practical clinical competence in these fields. A mediation analysis indicated that students' previous care experiences and past loss experiences were related to students' current interest in death education and palliative and bereavement care through the mediation of their sense of confidence in this field. The qualitative findings identified five shared themes life and death, learning about death, the psychological burden, personal experience and robust training, and four key training needs. Overall, students' interest in studying and working with terminal illness and death are rooted in internal resources, a preliminary sense of confidence, but also external requirements.There is a growing consensus that math anxiety highly correlates with trait anxiety and that the emotional component elicited by math anxiety affects math performance. The present study examines the mediation effect of heart rate variability-an affective measurement indexed by respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA)-in the relationship between specific math anxiety and arithmetic speed. A total of 386 junior high school students completed a self-reported questionnaire to measure their anxiety level. Among this sample, 29 individuals with specific math anxiety (high math anxiety and low reading and trait anxiety), 29 with specific reading anxiety (high reading anxiety and low math and trait anxiety), 24 with specific trait anxiety (high trait anxiety and low math and reading anxiety), and 22 controls (low math, trait and reading anxiety) were selected to participate in an arithmetic task and a reading task while RSA was recorded when they performed the tasks. Results revealed that individuals with specific math anxiety showed lower RSA and longer reaction time than the other three groups in the arithmetic task. Regression and mediation analyses further revealed that RSA mediated the relation between specific math anxiety and arithmetic speed. The present study provides the first account of evidence for the affective hypothesis of specific math anxiety and suggests that affective responses may be an important mechanism underlying the detrimental effect of specific math anxiety on math performance.Mental health problems are frequent obstacles in medical students' careers as doctors. This study aims to examine the mediational roles of stress perception (perceived stressors and stress-related cognition) on the relationship between achievement goal orientation and depression in medical students. A total of 1,015 Chinese 2-year medical students completed a multi-section questionnaire. Hypotheses were examined by structural equation modeling. The findings suggest that performance-avoidance goal orientation and perceived stressors both demonstrated direct facilitative effects on depression, whereas stress-related cognition demonstrated direct obstructive effects on depression. Both perceived stressors and stress-related cognition mediated the relationship between achievement goal orientation and depression. The findings spark a new perspective on motivational intervention that assist students in adopting mastery-approaching strategy as well as ways of coping with stressful academic situations.

A 31-year-old nulliparous patient with dysmenorrhea, dysuria, dyspareunia, and primary infertility.
Bimanual examination, transvaginal ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed as a comprehensive preoperative workup. The findings were consistent with bladder endometriosis and a 4-cm right pararectal cystic mass suggestive of adenomyosis externa. Laparoscopic excision of all visible endometriosis was performed. A pararectal lesion was found, completely developing in the retroperitoneal spaces, from the right medial pararectal space to the rectovaginal space, reaching the pelvic floor fascia without infiltration of the levator ani muscle. According to Koninckx classification, this kind of lesion corresponds to type III enhigh pregnancy rate, with most pregnancies resulting from postoperative natural conception even in patients with primary infertility.
Hypothermia is associated with elevated mortality in the preterm infant. The preterm infant's thermoregulatory capacity is limited, and the thermal environment in an incubator is often perturbed by nursing procedures. We evaluated the incidence of a postnatal low body temperature and hypothermia in preterm infants and its association with mortality.

However, the intra-professional collaboration among DNP and PhD scholars is not clearly demonstrated in the literature as it relates to frequency, training models, and the outcomes of these collaborations on translation. The purposes of this paper are to (1) examine the role for DNP nurses in symptom science research and (2) describe training models to cultivate the PhD-DNP collaboration to strengthen the translation of discoveries from nursing research, to facilitate implementation of discoveries, and to improve clinical practice of nurses.
A targeted review of the literature was conducted to identify, (1) the role of the DNP, (2) examples of PhD-DNP collaborations, (3) training models that support collaborations, and (4) the outcomes of these intra-professional collaborations.
Two articles reported on PhD-DNP collaboration within a university setting; however, they did not address howly detection of disease progression. Training opportunities to cultivate the PhD-DNP collaboration have significant relevance for expediting the translation of nursing science to nursing practice.

This study was to evaluate expectations, experiences, and perceived influence of the leadership mentoring programme on leadership and professional development, professional identity, and research productivity of postdoctoral nurses.
A longitudinal mixed-method study with a concurrent triangulation design was used with data collected through semistructured interviews and online surveys.
The leadership mentoring programme was found to be valuable by the participants who described strengthened leadership and professional development and development of professional identities. Participants showed increased research productivity and many moved to new/higher positions.
The leadership mentoring programme was found to enhance the leadership and professional development of postdoctoral nurses and support them in their academic careers.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is characterized by a critical condition, rapid progression, and a high fatality rate. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the treatment of choice for AMI. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of a 7-day gradual early functional exercise program after PCI in young and middle-aged patients with AMI.
A total of 106 young and middle-aged patients with AMI at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from May 2018 to May 2019 were selected and divided into 2 groups according to the random number table method (n=53 per group). Both groups were treated with PCI, and the control group then received routine functional exercises after surgery, whilst the observation group received a 7-day gradual early functional exercise program after surgery. Functional exercise compliance, daily life ability before and after intervention, changes in quality of life, and postoperative complications after 1 year were compared between the 2 groups.

Sepsis is an important disease that endangers human health and is the main cause of death in ICU patients, which has been a focus of clinical treatment. This study aims to evaluate the significance of the readily available quick sequential organ failure assessment (qSOFA) score in clinical cases of sepsis.
A retrospective cross-sectional study of patients with sepsis treated in the Department of Infectious Diseases, the Affiliated Tongji Hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2015 to December 2016 was conducted, and the patients were divided into a high-score group (≥2 points) and the low-score group (<2 points) according to the diagnostic criteria for sepsis (Sepsis 3.0). The differences in disease outcome and inflammatory indicators were compared between groups.
A total of 74 patients with sepsis were included in this study. When the cutoff qSOFA score was 2 points, the patients in the high-score group showed a higher mortality rate (71.43%), and the patients in the low-score group showed a higher improvement rate (87.76%). The inflammatory indicators did not show statistically significant differences between the two groups.
The qSOFA score can better predict the prognoses of non-ICU patients with sepsis compared with traditional inflammatory indicators. Clinicians should raise their awareness about qSOFA and improving its accuracy.

This study was designed to evaluate the relationship between estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) expression status and clinical outcomes in advanced breast cancer patients undergoing first-line endocrine therapy.
Data from 225 advanced breast cancer patients admitted to Henan Cancer Hospital from February 2010 to October 2019 were collected and compared using Chi-squared tests, with Cox regression models being used to identify relevant prognostic factors in these patients.
PR+ and PR- patients had significantly different median progression-free survival (PFS) times of 25 months (95% CI 13.50-36.50) and 7 months (95% CI 4.03-9.97), respectively (P<0.001). Clinical benefit rates (CBR) were also significantly different between these 2 groups (80.9% and 55.6%, respectively; P<0.001). A subgroup analysis of PR+ and PR- patients that underwent aromatase inhibitor (AI) treatment revealed a median PFS of 25.0 months (95% CI 14.28-35.72) and 7 months (95% CI 4.18-9.82), respectively (P<0.001), and CBR values of 81.3% and 54.5%, respectively (P<0.001). In addition, for both the whole cohort and the AI subgroup, the total survival of patients with ER+/PR+ breast cancer was longer than that of patients with ER+/PR- breast cancer, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001).

The incidence of lung cancer in patients aged over 80 years accounts for 30% of the entire lung cancer population. However, the emphasis on the treatment and prognosis of this subpopulation remains poorly investigated. This study evaluated outcomes associated with treatment strategies for these patients.
A retrospective analysis was performed on the overall survival and treatment of deceased patients over 80 years of age, diagnosed with lung cancer in our hospital. Treatment and overall survival were evaluated using logistic regression, the Kaplan-Meier method, and multivariable Cox proportional hazard models.
A total of 56 patients were included in this study, with 30 (53.6%) patients diagnosed with stage IV at the time of detection. One-third of the patients refused any form of treatment. The majority (n=27, 48.2%) of the included patients with stage I-IV lung cancer received chemotherapy or tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). The median overall survival was determined to be 9.067±1.2477 months, with the median survival time of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients calculated as 7.167±3.797 months for the entire cohort. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the treatment of choice for AMI. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of a 7-day gradual early functional exercise program after PCI in young and middle-aged patients with AMI. A total of 106 young and middle-aged patients with AMI at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from May 2018 to May 2019 were selected and divided into 2 groups according to the random number table method (n=53 per group). This study was designed to evaluate the relationship between estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) expression status and clinical outcomes in advanced breast cancer patients undergoing first-line endocrine therapy. Data from 225 advanced breast cancer patients admitted to Henan Cancer Hospital from February 2010 to October 2019 were collected and compared using Chi-squared tests, with Cox regression models being used to identify relevant prognostic factors in these patients. PR+ and PR- patients had significantly different median progression-free survival (PFS) times of 25 months (95% CI 13.50-36.50) and 7 months (95% CI 4.03-9.97), respectively (P<0.001). Clinical benefit rates (CBR) were also significantly different between these 2 groups (80.9% and 55.6%, respectively; P<0.001). A subgroup analysis of PR+ and PR- patients that underwent aromatase inhibitor (AI) treatment revealed a median PFS of 25.0 months (95% CI 14.28-35.72) and 7 months (95% CI 4.18-9.82), respectively (P<0.001), and CBR values of 81.3% and 54.5%, respectively (P<0.001). The radiomics features were extracted from manual segmentation based on contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) and non-contrast enhanced CT (NCECT) images after imaging preprocessing. The Lasso algorithm was applied to construct radiomics signatures. The predictive performance of radiomics models was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. A radiographic-radiomics combined nomogram was developed to evaluate its clinical utility. The radiomics signature on CECT (AUC 0.896 [95% CI 0.815-0.977]) performed better than the radiomics signature on NCECT data (AUC 0.851[95% CI 0.712-0.989]) in the validation set. An individualized prediction nomogram was developed using radiomics model on CECT and radiographic model including type, shape and vascular change. The C index of the nomogram was 0.915 in the training set and 0.881 in the validation set, demonstrating good discrimination. Decision curve analysis (DCA) revealed that the proposed model was clinically useful. Our results show a late Holocene (~ 3400 years ago) faunal reassembly characterized by the diminishment of the dominant large carnivoran, the Arabian leopard (Panthera pardus sbsp. nimr), and the spread of the Syrian striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena sbsp. syriaca). We suggest that increased hunting pressure in combination with regional aridification were responsible for the decrease in the number of leopards, while the introduction of domestic animals and settlement refuse brought new scavenging opportunities for hyenas. The recent extirpation of leopards from the region has been a final note to the Holocene human impact on the ecosystem.

In the treatment of breast cancer, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) reportedly reduces the high-dose irradiation of at-risk organs and decreases the frequency of adverse events (AEs). Comparisons with conventional radiotherapy have shown that IMRT is associated with lower frequencies of acute and late-onset AEs. Here, we extended a prospective, observational, single-center study of the safety of IMRT to a second investigating center. Patients scheduled for adjuvant IMRT after partial or total mastectomy were given a dose of 50Gy (25 fractions of 2Gy over 5weeks), with a simultaneous integrated boost in patients having undergone conservative surgery. 300 patients were included in the study, and 288 were analyzed. The median follow-up period was 2.1years. The 2-year disease-free survival rate [95% CI] was 93.4% [89.2-96.0%]. Most AEs were mild. Risk of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may be elevated in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but little research has studied the impact of these conditions on SLE outcomes. We examined prevalence, incidence, and impact of self-reported asthma and COPD in two US-based SLE cohorts (FORWARD and Lupus Outcomes Study [LOS]).
Prevalence of asthma and COPD were defined as presence of conditions at individuals' first interviews; incidence was defined as new reports over the next 3 years. Cross-sectional associations of asthma/COPD with patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and longitudinal analyses associations with asthma/COPD at entry with PROs 3 years later were examined.
In FORWARD, 19.8% and 8.3% participants reported asthma and COPD, respectively, at entry. In LOS, 36.0% reported the presence of either (US population comparisons asthma, 9.7%; COPD, 6.1%). Cross-sectionally, asthma/COPD was associated with worse PROs, including disease activity. In FORWARD, individuals with asthma experienced greater worsening of fatigue, pain, and global health ratings longitudinally; individuals with COPD experienced greater increases in self-reported SLE activity. However, no such patterns were noted in the LOS.

The relatively large amount of clone phenotypic variation observed from conventional "random integration" (RI)-based cell line construction is thought to be the result of a combination of the position variegation effect, genome plasticity and clonal variation. Site-specific integration (SSI) has been used by several groups to temper the influence of the position variegation effect and thus reduce variability in expression of biopharmaceutical candidates. Following on from our previous reports on the application of the Fer1L4 locus for SSI in CHOK1SV (10E9), we have combined this locus and a CHOK1SV glutamine synthetase knockout (GS-KO) host to create an improved expression system. The host, CHOK1SV GS-KO SSI (HD7876), was created by homology directed integration of a targetable landing pad flanked with incompatible Frt sequences in the Fer1L4 gene. The targeting vector contains a promoterless GS expression cassette and monoclonal antibody (mAb) expression cassettes, flanked by Frt sites compatible with equivalent sites flanking the landing pad in the host cell line. SSI clones expressing four antibody candidates, selected in a streamlined cell line development process, have mAb titers which rival RI (1.0-4.5 g/L) and robust expression stability (100% of clones stable through the 50 generation "manufacturing window" which supports commercial manufacturing at 12,000 L bioreactor scale).
Prednisolone is an effective oral glucocorticoid for managing symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) but has predictable and common adverse effects. We explored patient perspectives of prednisolone use in RA.
Patients with RA registered with the Australian Rheumatology Association Database (ARAD) who had completed an ARAD questionnaire in the preceding 12 months were invited to participate in an online survey. Responses were linked to already collected respondent demographics, medication use, and patient-reported outcome measures. The Beliefs about Medicine Questionnaire (BMQ) measured patient beliefs on medication necessity and concerns. Free-text responses outlining reasons for stopping or declining prednisolone underwent thematic analysis using NVivo 12.
The survey response rate was 79.6% (804/1010), including 251 (31.2%) reporting current prednisolone use and 432 (53.7%) reporting previous use. Western blot and immunofluorescence analysis indicated that 1,25D activated PI3K/Akt signalling through binding to vitamin D receptor (VDR), which inhibited the phosphorylation of the transcription factor Forkhead Box O1 (FOXO1). Decreased phosphorylation of FOXO1 down-regulated the expression Dickkopf-1 (DKK1), a well-known inhibitor of Wnt signalling. Prevalence of asthma and COPD were defined as presence of conditions at individuals' first interviews; incidence was defined as new reports over the next 3 years. Cross-sectional associations of asthma/COPD with patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and longitudinal analyses associations with asthma/COPD at entry with PROs 3 years later were examined. In FORWARD, 19.8% and 8.3% participants reported asthma and COPD, respectively, at entry. In LOS, 36.0% reported the presence of either (US population comparisons asthma, 9.7%; COPD, 6.1%). Cross-sectionally, asthma/COPD was associated with worse PROs, including disease activity. In FORWARD, individuals with asthma experienced greater worsening of fatigue, pain, and global health ratings longitudinally; individuals with COPD experienced greater increases in self-reported SLE activity. However, no such patterns were noted in the LOS. Asthma and COPD appeared to be more common in SLE than in the general US population and were associated with worse status on PROs cross-sectionally. Following on from our previous reports on the application of the Fer1L4 locus for SSI in CHOK1SV (10E9), we have combined this locus and a CHOK1SV glutamine synthetase knockout (GS-KO) host to create an improved expression system. The host, CHOK1SV GS-KO SSI (HD7876), was created by homology directed integration of a targetable landing pad flanked with incompatible Frt sequences in the Fer1L4 gene. The targeting vector contains a promoterless GS expression cassette and monoclonal antibody (mAb) expression cassettes, flanked by Frt sites compatible with equivalent sites flanking the landing pad in the host cell line. Patients with RA registered with the Australian Rheumatology Association Database (ARAD) who had completed an ARAD questionnaire in the preceding 12 months were invited to participate in an online survey. Responses were linked to already collected respondent demographics, medication use, and patient-reported outcome measures. The Beliefs about Medicine Questionnaire (BMQ) measured patient beliefs on medication necessity and concerns. Microsatellite instability (MSI) and circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play important roles in the diagnosis, prognosis and management of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients.
CTCs and MSI were assessed in the blood and representative tumor tissues of 100 CRC patients by flow cytometry (FCM) and PCR amplification. The data were correlated to relevant clinicopathological features of the patients, progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) rates.
MSI-high was detected in 44 (44.0%) patients, MSI-low in 37 (37%), and microsatellite stable (MSS) in 19 (19.0%) patients (P=0.007). The baseline CTCs count (<4 cells/7mL blood) was reported in 39% of the patients, and CTCs ≥4 cells/7mL blood in 61% of the patients (P=0.028). Improved PFS and OS rates were associated significantly with MSI-high (P<0.001), decreased CTC levels during the course of treatment (P<0.001) and post-treatment CTCs (P=0.008). There was no significant association between MSI-high and PFS or OS in early-stage patients (P=0.187 and P=0.187; respectively); however, it was associated significantly with better PFS and OS in late-stage patients (P<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that only a change in serial CTC levels is considered an independent prognostic factor for OS (P<0.012). Post-treatment CTCs level, serial CTCs level changes during the course of treatment, lymph nodes and distant metastasis were independent prognostic factors for PFS (P<0.001, P= 0.047, P=0.001 and P<0.001; respectively).

To systematically explore the pharmacological mechanism of Radix Paeoniae Rubra (RPR) against lung cancer (LC).
A network pharmacology approach, which involves active ingredients and target forecast, network construction, gene ontology and pathway enrichment, was employed in this research. In addition, the effect of Baicalein (BAI) in RPR on A549 cells was researched in vitro and in vivo.
A total of 159 targets of the 29 active components in RPR were procured by pharmacokinetic parameters. The network analysis showed that β-sitosterol, baicalein, (+)-catechin, ellagic acid, stigmasterol, (2R, 3R)-4-methoxyl-distylin were the main ingredients and JUN, VEGFA, BCL2 were the hub targets of RPR in the treatment of LC. The functional enrichment analysis showed that RPR likely was useful to LC by regulating numerous pathways including Pathways in cancer, MAPK signaling pathway and so on. MTT results showed that 100μM, 200μM, 400μM of BAI had a time and dose-dependent inhibitory effect on A549 cells proliferation; Wound healing and transwell assays showed that 100μM, 200μM, 400μM of BAI could significantly restrain the migration and invasion of A549 cells; Flow cytometry assay results showed that 100μM, 200μM, 400μM of BAI could induce apoptosis of A549 cells. In vivo, BAI (50, 100 mg/kg) significantly inhibited tumor growth and promoted apoptosis of tumor cells compared with the control group.

Stimulus-induced interlaminar information flow within V1 dominated upwardly, channeling information toward supragranular corticocortical output layers. Within V4, information flow dominated from granular to supragranular layers, but interactions between supragranular and infragranular layers dominated downwardly. Low-frequency across-area communication was stronger from V4 to V1, with little layer specificity. Gamma-band communication was stronger in the feedforward V1-to-V4 direction. Attention to the receptive field of V1 decreased communication between all V1 layers, except for granular-to-supragranular layer interactions. Communication within V4, and from V1 to V4, increased with attention across all frequencies. While communication from V4 to V1 was stronger in lower-frequency bands (4 to 25 Hz), attention modulated cGCs from V4 to V1 across all investigated frequencies. Here, we asked if this protein could be used as a potential therapeutic for P. aeruginosa infections together with tobramycin, an antibiotic typically used in the clinic. A major roadblock to answering this question was the poor yield and stability of wild-type PodA purified from standard Escherichia coli overexpression systems. We hypothesized that the insufficient yields were due to poor packing within PodA's obligatory homotrimeric interfaces. We therefore applied the protein design algorithm, AffiLib, to optimize the symmetric core of this interface, resulting in a design that incorporated five mutations leading to a 20-fold increase in protein yield from heterologous expression and purification and a substantial increase in stability to environmental conditions. The addition of the designed PodA with tobramycin led to increased killing of P. aeruginosa cultures under oxic and hypoxic conditions in both the planktonic and biofilm states. Conflicts are classified as desperate if a state experiencing the shock invades a neighbor and opportunistic if a state experiencing the shock is invaded by a neighbor. We find that weather-induced conflict was significant, but largely opportunistic rather than desperate. In this study, we demonstrate that p110 is coexpressed with p150 from the canonical p150-encoding mRNA due to leaky ribosome scanning downstream of the p150 start codon. The presence of a strong Kozak consensus context surrounding the p110 start codon suggests the p150 mRNA is optimized to leak p110 alongside expression of p150. To reduce leaky scanning and translation initiation at the p110 start codon, we introduced synonymous mutations in the coding region between the p150 and p110 start codons. Cells expressing p150 constructs with these mutations produced significantly reduced levels of p110. Editing analysis of total RNA from ADAR1 knockout cells reconstituted separately with modified p150 and p110 revealed that more than half of the A-to-I edit sites are selectively edited by p150, and the other half are edited by either p150 or p110. This method of isoform-selective editing analysis, making use of the modified p150, has the potential to be adapted for other cellular contexts.

Comparison of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (SICH) rates between stroke patients treated with bridging therapy (BT) and primary mechanical thrombectomy (PMT) are scarce and difficult to interpret due to baseline differences between both populations.
Retrospective analysis of patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with endovascular therapy (BT or PMT) was performed at our center between January 2010 and June 2017.
Six hundred twenty-three patients were included. Global SICH rate was 9% overall 6.8% in the PMT group and 12.6% in the BT group. The following factors significantly associated with SICH after multivariate analysis MCA occlusion (p 0.047), stroke of unknown origin (p 0.025), BT (p 0.024), and procedural time over 65 min (p 0.027). The following variables presented a statistically significant higher frequency in patients treated with PMT atrial fibrillation (p 0.005), anticoagulant medication (p < 0.001), wake-up strokes (p < 0.001), atherothrombotic etiology (p < 0.05), combgroups. Randomized studies of BT versus PMT in populations with similar baseline characteristics might be of interest.

In the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, the application of genome-based analyses, site-directed genome editing, and genetic systems that allow for temporal and quantitative regulation of gene and protein expression have been invaluable in defining the genetic basis of antimalarial resistance and elucidating candidate targets to accelerate drug discovery efforts. Using examples from recent studies, we review applications of some of these approaches in advancing our understanding of Plasmodium biology and illustrate their contributions and limitations in characterizing parasite genomic loci associated with antimalarial drug responses.

It was launched during the fasting month and Eid 2020 when firecracker-related injuries are highly incident in Malaysia. The video was launched primarily on Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Wau Animation Sdn Bhd social media platforms. Each party shared the video on the top 3 social media platforms, which are Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The numbers of viewers, reaches, and shares, and demographic data were captured at 1 month after the release.
We recorded 29,585 views, 60,920 reach, and 874 shares from the USM and Wau Animation platforms alone. The USM Facebook platform showed predominant female viewership (60%), whereas the Wau Facebook platform showed predominant male viewership (66%). In both platforms, the viewers were aged 18-34 years.

Twenty-two mandibular edentulous T2DM patients were submitted to implant placement for retention of an overdenture. By means of a split-mouth design, two implants were installed one at supracrestal level (SL) and one at crestal level (CL). Clinical, immunoenzymatic and tomographic analyses were performed at prosthesis placement (baseline) and after 6, 12 and 24 months following implant loading. Increased peri-implant probing depths were detected in CL implants when compared with SL implants at all time-points (baseline P=0.047; 6 months P=0.014; 12 months P=0.027; 24 months P=0.036). Indeed, augmented clinical attachment levels were also detected in CL implants when compared with SL implants at all time-points (baseline P=003; 6 months P=0.045; 12 months P=0.029; 24 months P=0.026). CL implants demonstrated increased amounts of interleukin-6 (IL-6) at 6 months (P=0.043) and higher IL-17 (P=0.021), IL-21 (P=0.034) and tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) concentrations (P=0.030) at 24 months in comparison with SL implants. CL group revealed enhanced bone loss from baseline to 6 (P=0.032), 12 (P=0.043) and 24 months (P=0.028) when compared with SL.
