High XPO1 expression (XPO1high) showed significant adverse prognostic impact in 544 studied DLBCL patients, especially in those with BCL2 overexpression. Therapeutic study in 30 DLBCL cell lines with various molecular and genetic background found robust cytotoxicity of selinexor, especially in cells with BCL2-rearranged (BCL2-R+) DLBCL or high-grade B-cell lymphoma with ****BCL2 double-hit (HGBCL-DH). However, expression of mutant (***) p53 significantly reduced the cytotoxicity of selinexor in overall cell lines and the BCL2-R and HGBCL-DH subsets, consistent with the favorable impact of XPO1high observed in ***-p53-expressing patients. The therapeutic effect of selinexor in HGBCL-DH cells was significantly enhanced when combined with a BET inhibitor INCB057643, overcoming the drug resistance in ***-p53-expressing cells. This study aims to determine if short-duration chemoprophylaxis after TKA reduces the incidence of VTE in an Asian population.

    A retrospective study of 316 patients who underwent unilateral primary TKA between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2013 was conducted. All patients received mechanical prophylaxis. One hundred seventeen patients (37%) received additional chemoprophylaxis, whereas 199 patients (63%) did not. A Doppler ultrasound (DUS) of both lower limbs was conducted for all patients within 6 days after surgery (median = 3 days) to assess for both proximal and distal DVT. Chemoprophylaxis in the form of enoxaparin (low molecular weight heparin; LMWH), aspirin, or heparin was administered until patients had a normal DUS, for a median duration of 4 days. Patients were followed up clinically for a minimum of 6 bserved in our study were distal and may be of limited clinical significance. Further studies are needed to investigate the impact of chemoprophylaxis use on the incidence of PE and overall mortality rates among Asian patients.

    Although the 2018 revised International Society of Nephrology/Renal Pathology Society (ISN/RPS) classification was proposed recently, until now, no reports have been made comparing the association of renal prognosis between the 2018 revised ISN/RPS classification and the 2003 ISN/RPS classification. The present study aimed to assess the usefulness, especially of activity and chronicity assessment, of the 2018 revised ISN/RPS classification for lupus nephritis (LN) in terms of renal prognosis compared to the classification in 2003.

    We retrospectively collected medical records of 170 LN patients from the database of renal biopsy at Fujita Health University from January 2003 to April 2019. Each renal biopsy specimen was reevaluated according to both the 2003 ISN/RPS classification and the 2018 revised ISN/RPS classification. Renal endpoint was defined as a 30% decline of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).

  • Aim Cooled radiofrequency ablation (CRFA) has demonstrated efficacy in the management of knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. A typical procedure involves fluoroscopic placement of internally cooled radiofrequency probes to ensure the probes are located near target genicular nerves. Patients & methods A new technique was developed to perform CRFA using ultrasound (US) guidance. Patient outcomes were reported using a telephone survey. Results Ablation procedures were successfully performed using US guidance. A total of 51 patients were retrospectively identified for telephone screening. A total of 22 patients completed the telephone questionnaire. There were no safety concerns identified and the majority of patients reported satisfactory outcomes. Conclusion Patient outcomes demonstrate that US-guided CRFA procedures provide pain relief and functional improvement. Further studies are needed to compare the efficacy of US-guided CRFA to fluoroscopy-guided CRFA procedures.The inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (ITPA) protein is responsible for removing noncanonical purine nucleoside triphosphates from intracellular nucleotide pools. Absence of ITPA results in genomic instability and increased levels of inosine in DNA and RNA. The proline to threonine substitution at position 32 (P32T) affects roughly 15% of the global population and can modulate treatment outcomes for cancer, lupus, and hepatitis C patients. The substitution of arginine with cysteine at position 178 (R178C) is extremely uncommon and has only been reported in a small cohort of early infantile encephalopathy patients suggesting that a functional ITPA protein is required for life in humans. Here we present molecular dynamic simulations that describe the structure and dynamics of the wild-type ITPA homodimer and two of its clinically relevant mutants, P32T and R178C. The simulation results indicate that both the P32T and R178C mutations alter the structure and dynamic properties of the protein and provide a possible explanation of the experimentally observed effect of the mutations on ITPA activity. Specifically, the mutations increased the overall flexibility of the protein and changed the dominant collective motions of the top lobe as well as the helix 2 of the lower lobe. Moreover, we have identified key active-site residues that are classified as essential or intermediate for inosine triphosphate (ITP) hydrolyzing activity based on their hydrogen bond occupancy. Here we also present biochemical data indicating that the R178C mutant has very low ITP hydrolyzing activity.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.Spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to severe dysfunction below injured segment and poses a great pressure to the individual and society. In this study, we applied 18F-alfatide II positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to monitor angiogenesis in an SCI model after estrogen (E2) treatment, as well as to evaluate the prognosis in a noninvasive manner. The SCI model was established with male rats and the rats were randomly divided into E2-treated group (SCI + E2) and E2-untreated group (SCI). Sham group was also used as control (Sham). The angiogenesis after SCI was monitored by 18F-alfatide II PET/CT and verified by immunofluorescence of CD31 and CD61. We also evaluated the level of E2 and growth-associated protein 43 (GAP43) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Finally, Basso, Beattie, and Bresnahan (BBB) scores were determined to evaluate the exercise capacity of the rats in all 3 groups. Our results showed that the BBB score of SCI + E2 group was significantly different from that of SCI group (P less then .05) and Sham group (P less then .01). The uptake of 18F-alfatide II was positively correlated with the expression level of GAP43, both of which reached the peak at day 7 after injury. CD31 and CD61 immunostaining further verified increased angiogenesis in E2-treated SCI lesions. We concluded that 18F-alfatide II PET/CT can monitor the angiogenesis status after SCI in vivo and it may help clinician predict the progression of patients with SCI. Achillon seems to be a promising approach with satisfactory function and low complication rate. We hypothesize a modified minimally invasive repair (MMIR), which provides direct visualization of proximal tendon stump without specialized equipment that could provide comparable results. This trial is aimed to evaluate the functional and surgical outcomes of MMIR comparing with Achillon. METHODS From February 2013 to February 2017, 114 patients with AATR were enrolled in this trial, underwent an alternative operation (Achillon or MMIR), and accelerated rehabilitation protocol. Forty-four patients took the Achillon and the other 70 patients took the MMIR at their subjective choice. https://www.selleckchem.com/ One hundred eleven full follow-up data were obtained including Achilles tendon total rupture score (ATRS), time **** to work, rerupture rate, overall complication rate, and operation time. RESULTS There was no significant difference between groups in demographic characters. Five reruptures and two Achilles tendons tethering to skins were found in the Achillon group, and two reruptures and one sural nerve injury in the MMIR group. No wound infection and dehiscence occurred. Overall complication rate in the Achillon group is higher (16.3% vs. 4.4%, p = 0.044). The operation time of Achillon is less than MMIR (34.84 vs. 39.71, p less then 0.001). CONCLUSION Both techniques combining with accelerated rehabilitation showed to be reliable and effective. Observational studies and case reports addressing cases of women with peritoneal spread due to advanced stage ovarian cancer who were treated with application of PlasmaJet device were considered eligible for inclusion. Results. Three studies were excluded from further analysis when they were retrieved in full text. Five studies (2 retrospective, 1 prospective, and 2 case reports) that comprised 77 patients with age range from 38 to 85 years were included. Forty-three women underwent interval debulking surgery, 24 patients primary debulking surgery, and 6 had optimal debulking surgery, while in the remaining 4, a secondary debulking surgery was performed. Incidence of intraoperative complications was 32% (8/25), but none of them was due to the application of PlasmaJet.

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on general health care. We aimed to evaluate the effect of a nationwide lockdown in France on admissions to hospital for acute myocardial infarction, by patient characteristics and regional prevalence of the pandemic.

    In this registry study, we collected data from 21 centres participating in the ongoing French Cohort of Myocardial Infarction Evaluation (FRENCHIE) registry, which collects data from all patients admitted for ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) within 48 h of symptom onset. We analysed weekly hospital admissions over 8 weeks the 4 weeks preceding the institution of the lockdown and the 4 weeks following lockdown. Voltage gating of GJs could play a physiological role, particularly in excitable cells, which can generate large transients in membrane potential during the propagation of action potentials. We present a mathematical/computational model of GJ channel voltage gating to assess properties of GJ channels that takes into account contingent gating of two series hemichannels and the distribution of Vj across each hemichannel. From electrophysiological recordings in cell cultures expressing Cx43 or Cx45, the principal isoforms expressed in cardiac tissue, various data sets were fitted simultaneously using global optimization. The results showed that the model is capable of describing both steady-state and kinetic properties of homotypic and heterotypic GJ channels composed of these Cxs. Moreover, mathematical analyses showed that the model can be simplified to a reversible two-state system and solved analytically using a rapid equilibrium assumption. Given that excitable cells are arranged in interconnected networks, the equilibrium assumption allows for a substantial reduction in computation time, which is useful in simulations of large clusters of coupled cells. Overall, this model can serve as a tool for the studying of GJ channel gating and its effects on the spread of excitation in networks of electrically coupled cells.

    Evidence for the associations between mental illness and the likelihood of a positive severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) test result and the clinical outcomes of COVID-19 is scarce. We aimed to investigate these associations with data from a national register in South Korea.

    A nationwide cohort study with propensity score matching was done in South Korea using data collected from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service of Korea. We defined mental illness as present if one of the relevant ICD-10 codes was recorded at least twice within 1 year for an outpatient or inpatient. Severe mental illness was considered as non-affective or affective disorders with psychotic features. We included all patients aged older than 20 years who were tested for SARS-CoV-2 through services facilitated by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service of Korea, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, South Korea. We investigated the primary outcome (SARS-CoV-2 test positivity) in the entire cohort and the secondary outcomes (severe clinical outcomes of COVID-19 death, admission to the intensive care unit, or invasive ventilation) among those who tested positive.

    To characterise the rate, causes and predictors of cessation of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).

    Consecutive patients with AF with a long-term anticoagulation indication treated with NOACs (dabigatran, apixaban and rivaroxaban) in our centre from September 2010 through December 2016 were included. Prospectively collected data with baseline characteristics, causes of cessation, mean duration-to-cessation and predictors of cessation were analysed.

    The study comprised 1415 consecutive patients with AF, of whom 439 had a CHA
    DS
    -VASc≥1 and were on a NOAC. Mean age was 71.9±8.7 years and 37% were females. Over a median follow-up of 3.6 years (IQR=2.7-5.3), 147 (33.5%) patients ceased their index-NOAC (113 switched to a different form of OAC), at a rate of 8.8 per 100 patient-years. Serious adverse events warranting NOAC cessation occurred in 28 patients (6.4%) at a rate of 1.6 events per 100 patient-years. The mean duration-to-cessation was 4.9 years (95% CI 4.6 to 5.1) and apixaban had the longest duration-to-cessation with (5.1, 95% CI 4.8 to 5.4) years, compared with dabigatran (4.6, 95% CI 4.2 to 4.9) and rivaroxaban (4.5, 95% CI 3.9 to 5.1), pairwise log-rank p=0.002 and 0.025, respectively. In multivariable analyses, age was an independent predictor of index-NOAC cessation (HR 1.03, 95% CI 1.01 to 1.05; p=0.006). Female gender (HR 2.2, 95% CI 1.04 to 4.64; p=0.04) independently predicted serious adverse events.

We characterised long-term risk of major adverse cardiovascular event (****) and mortality following a non-fatal cardiovascular event in a British cohort of South Asians, African Caribbeans and Europeans.

    We identified index and recurrent cardiovascular events and mortality between 1988 and 2017 using hospital records and death registry. Using multivariable hazards models, we separately calculated the adjusted HR of **** and death following index event, adjusting for demographics, vascular and lifestyle risk factors. Using interaction terms, we evaluated if decade of index event modified the association between ethnicity and outcomes.

    South Asians were younger at the index event (median age 66 years, n=396) than Europeans (69 years, n=335) and African Caribbeans (70 years, n=70). During 4228 person-years, of the 801 patients, 537 developed **** and 338 died, with the highest crude rate of **** in South Asians. On adjustment of baseline factors, compared with the Europeans, the higher risk of **** (HR 0.97, 95% CI 0.77 to 1.21) and the lower risk of mortality (HR 0.95, 95% CI 0.72 to 1.26) in South Asians was eliminated. Despite the importance of genetics for mouse research, genetic quality control (QC) is not standardized, in part due to the lack of cost-effective, informative, and robust platforms. Genotyping arrays are standard tools for mouse research and remain an attractive alternative even in the era of high-throughput whole-genome sequencing. Here, we describe the content and performance of a new iteration of the Mouse Universal Genotyping Array (MUGA), MiniMUGA, an array-based genetic QC platform with over 11,000 probes. In addition to robust discrimination between most classical and wild-derived laboratory strains, MiniMUGA was designed to contain features not available in other platforms (1) chromosomal sex determination, (2) discrimination between substrains from multiple commercial vendors, (3) diagnostic SNPs th partial sex chromosome duplication and mosaicism, and that diagnostic SNPs can be used to determine how long inbred **** have been bred independently from the relevant main stock. Here, we found a clear relationship between the sensitivity of MeOH adsorption to the stationary phase and the robustness of the separation system. This study aims to explore the GHG emissions abatement potential, cost effectiveness, and enabling factors of implementing wider opportunities in cities. Using Amsterdam as a case study, we developed a marginal abatement cost curve to compare the abatement potential and cost effectiveness of both utility and wider opportunities. The results show that many wider opportunities related to thermal energy, water end use, and life cycle are cost-effective with significant abatement potential, compared to utility opportunities. This case study and emerging worldwide examples show that the water industry has a role to play to support wider water-related opportunities in cities.   • Background Uncemented press-fit acetabular cups without screws rely on the elastic recoil of the bone for its primary stability and tend to leave polar gaps with its use. The clinical significance of these gaps and the functional outcome of the patients with polar gaps is evaluated in this study. Methods This comparative analysis was done on 224 cementless primary THA using Deltamotion® Hip System from January 2010 to December 2017. Patients were divided into two groups based on the presence or absence of polar gaps on immediate post-operative radiographs. Patients were observed for their clinical, radiological and functional outcomes with regular follow ups. At each follow-up, patients' clinical outcome was evaluated using the Harris Hip Score (HHS) and Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). Results 14 of 224 patients(6.25%) demonstrated polar gaps in their immediate post-operative radiographs. No statistically significant difference was noted in the final mean HHS between the two groups. The polar gaps ranged from 0.5 to 1.8 mm (mean-1.09 mm). None of the patients showed progression of the polar gaps. All patients showed bony ingrowth into the gaps at a mean of 8.57 months. Conclusion The presence of polar gaps in the immediate post-operative radiographs are not of a major clinical significance provided a secure peripheral fit is achieved intra-operatively. The functional outcome and rehabilitation in such patients is at par with that seen in the patients without polar gaps. Methods This study includes 116 patients (123 implants) who received an Articular Surface Replacement XL (ASRTMXL, De Puy Synthes, USA) MoM THA. The study group included 56 males and 60 females with a mean age of 66.6 years (range, 15-86 years). All patients were clinically and radiologically annually evaluated (according to the Harris Hip Score) up to a mean follow-up of 7.5 years (min. 1.4 - max. 10.3 years) from the primary surgery all patients underwent standard ultrasound evaluation of the affected hip and Cobalt/Chromium blood detection testing according to a custom-made diagnostic algorithm for MoM THA revision. Results At final follow-up, 51 (43.1%) of 117 implants underwent revision after a mean of 6 years (1.79-9.26) from the primary ASR implant. The authors found a statistically significant correlation between Cr (p = 0.015) and Co (p = 0.009) blood values and different ultrasound grades. Statistical analysis showed a significant association between periprosthetic fluid collection and revision surgery (p  less then  0.0001) and the final revision risk was estimated to be 7 times greater in patients with ultrasound grade ≥ 2 (peri-prosthetic collection ≥ 20 mm). Conclusions This study confirms the reliability of ultrasound evaluation in detecting clinically significant peri-prosthetic joint effusions a new diagnostic algorithm for MoM THA revision is here presented. Variables compared included baseline characteristics, quality metrics, and patients' opioid use histories 3 months prior to surgery and 6 months following surgery. Results Of the 256 patients, 54 (21.1%) patients were identified as preoperative chronic opioid users. Baseline characteristics including age, gender, BMI, and ASA scores were similar between both cohorts. Discharge disposition, value-based purchasing (VBP) costs, length of stay (LOS), emergency room visits, and postoperative office visits were similar between the two cohorts. Readmission rates (30-day, 90-day, and 6-month) were significantly higher (p  less then  0.05) in the chronic opioid users cohort. By the 6-month postoperative time period, chronic opioid users were consuming approximately 100-times the morphine equivalents than non-chronic users. Conclusions The current study demonstrates that a substantial proportion of preoperative chronic opioid users continue to consume large amounts of opioids up to 6-months following THA surgery. Furthermore, preoperative chronic use is significantly associated with poorer quality outcomes, specifically with respect to readmission rates. The patient was treated with an alternative treatment option using multiple tantalum wedges. However, the region of modularity is prone to failure. Fracture of the non-cemented fluted tapered titanium Modular Prosthesis (MP) stem is relatively rare. We present here a case of a distal non-traumatic fracture of the MP stem and review the previously reported cases. A 53-years old, relatively active, male patient with a body mass index (BMI) of 37 kg/m2 had a fracture of the non-cemented MP stem on the left side after five years without complaints. The BMI was 45 at the time of implantation of the MP stem. His weight was significantly reduced, but the stem failed and fractured at an atypical site, quite distal to the modular junction. The broken stem with a relatively small diameter had been exchanged to a larger one. Fracture of the non-cemented fluted proximally-modular distally-tapered titanium MP stem might occur after years. Even in cases of good bone quality of the proximal femur, patient BMI and activity level should be considered when selecting the stem diameter.

  • To determine the yield of prenatal testing and screening options after identification of fetal structural abnormalities using a novel mathematical model.

    A retrospective chart review was conducted to collect structural abnormality and genetic testing data on infants who were evaluated postnatally by a medical geneticist. A novel mathematical model was used to determine and compare the predicted diagnostic yields of prenatal testing and screening options.

    Over a quarter of patients with at least one structural abnormality (28.1%, n = 222) had a genetic aberration identified that explained their phenotype. Chromosomal microarray (CMA) had the highest predicted diagnostic yield (26.8%, P < .001). Karyotype (20.8%) had similar yields as genome wide NIPT (21.2%, P = .859) and NIPT with select copy number variants (CNVs) (17.9%, P = .184). Among individuals with an isolated structural abnormality, whole exome sequencing (25.9%) and CMA (14.9%) had the highest predicted yields.

    This study introduces a novel mathematical model for predicting the potential yield of prenatal testing and screening options. This study provides further evidence that CMA has the highest predicted diagnostic yield in cases with structural abnormalities. In the current study, exposure to NGR1 dose-dependently inhibited osteosarcoma cell viability and migration, and induced apoptosis.     Obesity and diabetes have already become the second largest risk factor for cardiovascular disease. During the last decade, remarkable advances have been made in understanding the human genome's contribution to glucose homeostasis disorders and obesity. A few studies on rare mutations of candidate genes provide potential genetic targets for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. In this review, we discussed the detailed findings of these studies and the possible causalities between specific genetic variations and dysfunctions in energy or glucose homeostasis. We are optimistic that novel therapeutic strategies targeting these specific mutants for treating and preventing diabetes and obesity will be developed in the near future.

A significant increase in intracellular reactive oxygen species level was also observed, suggesting that regulation of apoptotic proteins triggered by myricetin exposure in lymphocytes from myeloma patients occurred through P53 and oxidative stress-dependent pathways.
    To determine the yield of prenatal testing and screening options after identification of fetal structural abnormalities using a novel mathematical model. A retrospective chart review was conducted to collect structural abnormality and genetic testing data on infants who were evaluated postnatally by a medical geneticist. A novel mathematical model was used to determine and compare the predicted diagnostic yields of prenatal testing and screening options. Over a quarter of patients with at least one structural abnormality (28.1%, n = 222) had a genetic aberration identified that explained their phenotype. Chromosomal microarray (CMA) had the highest predicted diagnostic yield (26.8%, P < .001). Karyotype (20.8%) had similar yields as genome wide NIPT (21.2%, P = .859) and NIPT with select copy number variants (CNVs) (17.9%, P = .184). Among individuals with an isolated structural abnormality, whole exome sequencing (25.9%) and CMA (14.9%) had the highest predicted yields. This study introduces a novel mathematical model for predicting the potential yield of prenatal testing and screening options. This study provides further evidence that CMA has the highest predicted diagnostic yield in cases with structural abnormalities. Identified variants of uncertain clinical significance were evaluated, using extensive in silico investigation. Eight PVs (4.9%) were identified in two high-penetrance TNBC susceptibility genes. Of these, seven occurred in PALB2 (87.5%) and one occurred in TP53 (12.5%). Interestingly, 50% of the patients carrying PVs were diagnosed over the age of 60 years. The frequency of non-**** PVs (4.9%) and especially PALB2 PVs (4.3%) in TNBC patients in Cyprus appears to be higher compared to other populations. Here we screened 99 different malignancy grade astrocytomas for CASC2, and miR-21 gene expression by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) in isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) and O-6-methylguanine methyltransferase (MGMT) assessed gliomas. CASC2 expression was significantly downregulated in glioblastomas (p = 0.0003). Gliomas with low CASC2 expression exhibited a high level of miR-21, which was highly associated with the higher glioma grade (p = 0.0001), IDH1 wild type gliomas (p less then 0.0001), and poor patient survival (p less then 0.001). A transmission electron microscope (TEM) was employed to confirm the size and shape of the in situ formed nanoparticles; the result showed that they are spherical in shape and the average size was 28.7 nm with a standard deviation of 11.7 nm. Electron dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) confirmed the observed nanoparticles are alumina nanoparticles. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was employed to study microstructural changes in the salt. A differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) was employed to study the heat capacity of the in situ synthesized nanofluid. In separate field programs, Wolbachia is also being used as a mosquito population suppression tool, where the release of male only Wolbachia-infected Ae. aegypti prevents the native mosquito population from producing viable eggs, subsequently suppressing the wild population. While these technologies show great promise, they require mass rearing of mosquitoes for implementation on a scale that has not previously been done.     To investigate the etiology and longitudinal clinical, neuropsychological, psychosocial, and surgical outcome profile of patients with medication refractory epilepsy and temporal encephaloceles with a view to highlight diagnostic clues and management strategies.

    The comprehensive epilepsy program databases at two surgical epilepsy centers from January 2000 to October 2018 were reviewed for this observational study, to identify patients with encephaloceles causing temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and treated with surgical resection. Their clinical, radiological, neuropsychological, psychiatric, and surgical data were obtained. Body mass index (BMI) data were also reviewed due to possible correlation between idiopathic intracranial hypertension and encephaloceles.

    Thirteen patients (eight female) were identified; only three were recognized on initial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) report. Temporal encephaloceles were identified on the left in eight patients, on the right in three patients, and bilaterally ial outcome. Subtle encephaloceles should be actively searched for in patients with drug-resistant TLE because they significantly change surgical strategy and prognostication.

    Glycine powder air polishing (GPAP) procedure has become popular. Aim of the analysis was to compare the clinical outcomes during supportive periodontal therapy (SPT) of subgingival application of GPAP with those using sole conventional mechanical debridement (SC).

    Over a median SPT period of 5.3years (re-evaluation through last observation), the GPAP cohort (n=263) received supra- and subgingival biofilm removal with GPAP. Supragingival calculus was removed using curets and sonic scalers here. Patients in the SC cohort (n=264) were treated with sonic scalers, curets and rubber cup polishing only. Changes in, that is pocket probing depth (PPD) and furcation involvement were assessed retrospectively. A bootstrapping equivalence testing method in line with the principle of the two one-sided tests (TOST) procedure was used to compare clinical outcomes.
