I am writing in response to conclusions the authors of the referenced publication [1] have drawn with regard to the effect of variable zinc concentrations on antimicrobial susceptibility testing of metallo-β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales.….Bacteriophages are considered the most abundant entities on earth. However, there are merely seven sequenced double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) phages, compared to thousands of sequenced double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) phages. Interestingly, dsRNA viruses are quite common in fungi and usually have a lifestyle of commensalism or mutualism. Thus, the classical protocol of using double-layer agar plates to characterize phage plaques might be significantly biased in the isolation of dsRNA phages beyond strictly lytic lifestyles. Thus, we applied a protocol for isolating fungal viruses to identify RNA phages in bacteria and successfully isolated a novel dsRNA phage, phiNY, from Microvirgula aerodenitrificans. phiNY has a genome consisting of three dsRNA segments, and its genome sequence has no nucleotide sequence similarity with any other phage. Although phiNY encodes a lytic protein of glycoside hydrolase, and phage particles are consistently released during bacterial growth, phiNY replication did not block bacterial growthge, phiNY, with a mutualistic parasitic lifestyle. This study implies that dsRNA phages without strictly lytic lifestyles might be common in nature and deserve more investigations.Background and Purpose Schoolchildren with language difficulties experience more peer victimization compared to their typically developing (TD) peers. Whether these children also bully their peers (bully perpetration) more than TD children is unclear. This study aimed to investigate associations between language difficulties, peer victimization, and bully perpetration from preschool to school age as well as the risk of peer victimization and bully perpetration for children with different developmental paths of language difficulties and mild language difficulties compared to TD children. Method The sample was drawn from the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study. Participants with completed questionnaires at 3, 5, and 8 years of age (n = 22,628) were included. Paths between latent variables of language skfficulties from preschool to school age.Health benefits from point-of-use (POU) water treatment devices come only with consistent use. Embedded sensors can measure the consistency of POU-device use and can provide insights about improving it. We demonstrate both potentials with data from SmartSpouts accelerometer-based sensors embedded in spigot handles that record the duration and timing of use. In the laboratory, most sensor readings correlated well (>0.98) with manually timed water withdrawals. In the field, SmartSpouts measured >60,000 water withdrawals across 232 households in Limpopo, South Africa. Sensors proved critical to understanding consistent use; surveys overestimated it by 53 percentage points. Sensor data showed when households use POU devices (evening peaks and delayed weekend routines) and user preferences (safe storage over filters). We demonstrate analytically and with data that (i) consistent use (e.g., 7 continuous days) is extremely sensitive to single-day use prevalence and (ii) use prevalence affects the performance of contact-time-based POU devices, exemplified with silver tablets. Deployed SmartSpouts had limitations, including memory overflows and confounding device relocation with water withdrawal. Nevertheless, SmartSpouts provided useful and objective data on the prevalence of single-day and consistent use. Considerably less expensive than alternatives, SmartSpouts enable an order of magnitude increase in how many POU-device sensors can be deployed.Diorganotin dihalides act as cocatalysts for site-selective and stereoselective couplings of diol-containing carbohydrates with electron-deficient alkenes in the presence of an Ir(III) photoredox catalyst and quinuclidine, a hydrogen atom transfer mediator. Autotaxin (ATX) is a secreted glycoprotein that is widely present in extracellular biological fluids and has been implicated in many inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. However, the clinical impact of the release of ATX in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remains unclear.
Serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) levels of ATX, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-7, fibronectin, oncostatin M (OSM), and SPARC (secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine) were collected from 52 patients with ARDS within 24 h of diagnosis. All cytokines were measured by Magnetic Luminex Assay. BALF albumin (BA) and serum albumin (SA) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
Serum ATX, MMP-7, and BALF IL-8 levels were significantly higher in patients who did not survive than in those who survived up to 28 days after diagnosis of ARDS (P < 0.05). BALF and serum ATX levels were correlated with IL-6, IL-8, and MMP-7 levels in BALF and serum, respectively. In addition, BALF ATX was positively correlated with BALF TNF-α, fibronectin, OSM, and SPARC as well as the BA/SA ratio, while serum ATX was correlated with severity of illness based on the SOFA score and PaO
/FIO
ratio. Furthermore, serum ATX was better able to predict 28-day ARDS-related mortality (area under the curve 0.744, P < 0.01) than the SOFA score, APACHE II score, or PaO

Regular physical activity and exercise provide many health benefits. These health benefits are mediated in large part through cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular strength. As most individuals have not had an assessment of their personal cardiorespiratory fitness or muscular strength we investigated if measurements of cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular strength would influence an individual's subsequent self-reported exercise and physical activity.
Volunteer subjects at a State Fair were randomized in 11 parallel fashion to control and intervention groups. The baseline Exercise Vital Sign (EVS) and type of physical activity were obtained from all subjects. The intervention group received estimated maximum oxygen uptake (VO
max) using a step test and muscular strength using a hand grip dynamometer along with age-specific norms for both measurements. All subjects were provided exercise recommendations. Follow up surveys were conducted at 3, 6 and 12 months regarding their EVS and physical activity.

Individuals with Anorexia Nervosa (AN) typically struggle in social and emotional contexts. An Integrated Group Based approach for the delivery of MANTRA - The Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults - extends current NICE recommended therapy by augmenting treatment with opportunities for experiential practice in a group context. A feasibility case series, delivered across three NHS community services is presented.
The design was a case series of four Integrated Group MANTRA treatments delivered across three NHS sites (N = 29). Feasibility data of retention, acceptability and effectiveness; alongside the qualitative capture of participant experiences of treatment is presented.

There was significant change with medium effect sizes for eating disorder cognitions and symptoms (as measured by the global score on EDEQ) and BMI. In the present study, we aimed to identify tlr19 from common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) and explored its expression profile, localization, adaptor, and signaling pathways. A novel tlr19 cDNA sequence (Cctlr19) was identified in common carp. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that CcTlr19 was most closely related to Danio rerio Tlr19. Subcellular localization analysis indicates that CcTlr19 was synthesized in the free ribosome and then transported to early endosomes. Cctlr19 was constitutively expressed in all the examined tissues, with the highest expression in the brain. After poly(IC) and Aeromonas hydrophila injection, the expression of Cctlr19 was significantly upregulated in immune-related organs. In addition, the expression of Cctlr19 was upregulated in head kidney leukocytes (HKL) upon stimulation with different ligands. Immunofluorescence and luciferase analyses indicate that CcTlr19 recruited TRIF as an adaptor.

Microwaves (MWs) deliver relatively high temperatures into biological tissue and cover a large ablation zone. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and effectiveness of water-cooled double-needle MW ablation arrays in assisting the hepatic transection of an
pig model.
Our research program comprised computer modeling, tissue-mimicking phantom experiments, and
pig liver experiments. Computer modeling was based on the finite element method (FEM) to evaluate ablation temperature distributions. In tissue-mimicking phantom and
pig liver ablation experiments, the performances of the water-cooled MW ablation array and conventional clamp crushing liver resection were compared.
FEM showed that the maximum lateral ablation diameter at 100 W output and a duration of 60 s was 3 cm (assessed at 50 °C isotherm). In the phantom, the maximum transverse ablation diameter of the double-needle MW ablation increased rapidly to 3 cm in 60 s at 50 W. The blood loss and blood loss per transection area in Group A were significantly lower than those in Group B (18 (7-26) ml vs. 34 (19-57) ml, and 2.4 (2-3.1) ml/cm
vs. 6.9 (3.2-8.3) ml/cm

A retrospective review was performed in our hospital from 2000 to 2018. A literature search of RSs was conducted using PubMed database.
45 patients were identified (22 from our hospital and 23 from the literature review). The majority of patients presented asymptomatic (22/45). Among them, 25 cases were misdiagnosed as adnexal cysts, 13 uterine fibroids, 1 ovarian malignancy and 6 pelvic masses. Intraoperative exploration revealed that the masses were located in the retroperitoneal space. The median diameter was 6.2 cm (range 3.0-9.8 cm) in our hospital compared with 9.3 cm (6-15 cm) in literature review. Complete resection was performed in 37 patients and subtotal resection in 8 patients. The pathological results confirmed the diagnosis of benign schwannoma and no recurrence was found in the follow-up data.
The preoperative diagnosis of RSs is difficult to make because of its nonspecific characteristics. Underage motorcycle riding in Indonesia has long been and continues to be common among its citizens. This study aimed to analyse motorcycle risky behaviours associated with motorcycle accidents among adolescents in Jakarta metropolitan area. This is a cross-sectional study employing a self-report survey of 3880 students from 37 junior and senior high schools in the Jakarta metropolitan area, Indonesia, between April and June 2019. About 40% of the respondents reported that they ever involved in motorcycle accidents in the past 12 months. Speeding, using a mobile phone, drowsy driving, and wrong-way riding were significantly associated with motorcycle accidents. Further, red-light running, applying sudden brake, eating, smoking or drinking, listening to music, drunk driving and drowsy driving have an influence on the severity of motorcycle accidents. 91.3% of motorcycle drivers in our samples did not have a driving license, and approximately 39% of them had involved in motorcycle accidents. More stringent controls from parents, schools and the government are needed to inhibit motorcycle use by minors.
Microwaves (MWs) deliver relatively high temperatures into biological tissue and cover a large ablation zone. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and effectiveness of water-cooled double-needle MW ablation arrays in assisting the hepatic transection of an pig model. Our research program comprised computer modeling, tissue-mimicking phantom experiments, and pig liver experiments. Computer modeling was based on the finite element method (FEM) to evaluate ablation temperature distributions. In tissue-mimicking phantom and pig liver ablation experiments, the performances of the water-cooled MW ablation array and conventional clamp crushing liver resection were compared. FEM showed that the maximum lateral ablation diameter at 100 W output and a duration of 60 s was 3 cm (assessed at 50 °C isotherm). In the phantom, the maximum transverse ablation diameter of the double-needle MW ablation increased rapidly to 3 cm in 60 s at 50 W. The blood loss and blood loss per transection area in Group A were significantly lower than those in Group B (18 (7-26) ml vs. 34 (19-57) ml, and 2.4 (2-3.1) ml/cm vs. 6.9 (3.2-8.3) ml/cm , respectively) ( < 0.05). We propose that the right IPL might be considered a "writing tempo center."Face processing is a spatiotemporal dynamic process involving widely distributed and closely connected brain regions. Although previous studies have examined the topological differences in brain networks between face and non-face processing, the time-varying patterns at different processing stages have not been fully characterized. In this study, dynamic brain networks were used to explore the mechanism of face processing in human brain. We constructed a set of brain networks based on consecutive short EEG segments recorded during face and non-face (ketch) processing respectively, and analyzed the topological characteristic of these brain networks by graph theory. We found that the topological differences of the backbone of original brain networks (the minimum spanning tree, MST) between face and ketch processing changed dynamically. Specifically, during face processing, the MST was more line-like over alpha band in 0-100 ms time window after stimuli onset, and more star-like over theta and alpha bands in 100-200 and 200-300 ms time windows. The results indicated that the brain network was more efficient for information transfer and exchange during face processing compared with non-face processing. In the MST, the nodes with significant differences of betweenness centrality and degree were mainly located in the left frontal area and ventral visual pathway, which were involved in the face-related regions. In addition, the special MST patterns can discriminate between face and ketch processing by an accuracy of 93.39%. Our results suggested that special MST structures of dynamic brain networks reflected the potential mechanism of face processing in human brain.Disrupted functional asymmetry of cerebral hemispheres may be altered in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). However, little is known about whether anomalous brain asymmetries originate from inter- and/or intra-hemispheric functional connectivity (FC) at rest in OCD. In this study, resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging was applied to 40 medication-free patients with OCD and 38 gender-, age-, and education-matched healthy controls (HCs). Data were analyzed using the parameter of asymmetry (PAS) and support vector machine methods. Patients with OCD showed significantly increased PAS in the left posterior cingulate cortex, left precentral gyrus/postcentral gyrus, and right inferior occipital gyrus and decreased PAS in the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), bilateral middle cingulate cortex (MCC), left inferior parietal lobule, and left cerebellum Crus I. A negative correlation was found between decreased PAS in the left DLPFC and Yale-Brown Obsessive-compulsive Scale compulsive behavior scores in the patients. Furthermore, decreased PAS in the bilateral ****could be used to distinguish OCD from HCs with a sensitivity of 87.50%, an accuracy of 88.46%, and a specificity of 89.47%. In a first experiment, we setup an ecological paradigm measuring EEG on a musician in free improvised concerts with an audience, followed by retrospective rating of the mental state of the improviser. We introduce Subjective Temporal Resolution (STR), a retrospective rating assessing the instantaneous quantization of subjective timing of the improviser. We identified high and low STR states using Hidden Markov Models in two performances, and were able to decode those states using supervised learning on instantaneous EEG power spectrum, showing increases in theta and alpha power with high STR values. In a second experiment, we found an increase of theta and beta power when experimentally manipulating STR in a musical improvisation imagery experiment. These results are interpreted with respect to previous research on flow state in creativity, as well as with the temporal processing literature. Although previous studies have examined the topological differences in brain networks between face and non-face processing, the time-varying patterns at different processing stages have not been fully characterized. In this study, dynamic brain networks were used to explore the mechanism of face processing in human brain. We constructed a set of brain networks based on consecutive short EEG segments recorded during face and non-face (ketch) processing respectively, and analyzed the topological characteristic of these brain networks by graph theory. We found that the topological differences of the backbone of original brain networks (the minimum spanning tree, MST) between face and ketch processing changed dynamically. Specifically, during face processing, the MST was more line-like over alpha band in 0-100 ms time window after stimuli onset, and more star-like over theta and alpha bands in 100-200 and 200-300 ms time windows. The results indicated that the brain network was more efficient for information transfer and exchange during face processing compared with non-face processing. In the MST, the nodes with significant differences of betweenness centrality and degree were mainly located in the left frontal area and ventral visual pathway, which were involved in the face-related regions. In addition, the special MST patterns can discriminate between face and ketch processing by an accuracy of 93.39%. Our results suggested that special MST structures of dynamic brain networks reflected the potential mechanism of face processing in human brain.Disrupted functional asymmetry of cerebral hemispheres may be altered in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). However, little is known about whether anomalous brain asymmetries originate from inter- and/or intra-hemispheric functional connectivity (FC) at rest in OCD. In this study, resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging was applied to 40 medication-free patients with OCD and 38 gender-, age-, and education-matched healthy controls (HCs). Data were analyzed using the parameter of asymmetry (PAS) and support vector machine methods. Patients with OCD showed significantly increased PAS in the left posterior cingulate cortex, left precentral gyrus/postcentral gyrus, and right inferior occipital gyrus and decreased PAS in the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), bilateral middle cingulate cortex (MCC), left inferior parietal lobule, and left cerebellum Crus I. A negative correlation was found between decreased PAS in the left DLPFC and Yale-Brown Obsessive-compulsive Scale compulsive behavior scores in the patients. Furthermore, decreased PAS in the bilateral MCC could be used to distinguish OCD from HCs with a sensitivity of 87.50%, an accuracy of 88.46%, and a specificity of 89.47%. Using a low-power ( less then 3 VDC) gating potential, we demonstrated tunable release of amlodipine-loaded micelles. Additionally, we showed that the released drug maintained biological activity via calcium ion blockade in vitro. This study represents a proof of concept for the potential applicability of our strategy for chronotherapeutic management of hypertension.Drug penetration through the skin is significant for both transdermal and dermal delivery. The role of iron oxide NPs in the detection and identification of atherosclerotic plaques is receiving increased attention. Moreover, these NPs enhance targeted stem cell delivery, thereby potentiating the regenerative capacity at the injured sites. In addition to their antioxidative and antihypertrophic capacities, gold NPs have also been shown to be useful in the identification of plaques and recognition of inflammatory markers. Contrary to first reports suggestive of their cardio-vasculoprotective role, silver NPs now appear to exert negative effects on the cardiovascular system. Indeed, these NPs appear to negatively modulate inflammation and cholesterol uptake, both of which exacerbate atherosclerosis. Moreover, silver NPs may precipitate bradycardia, conduction block and sudden cardiac death. The use of psychotropic medication is often the first line of treatment for people with mental distress. However, many service users discontinue their prescribed medication, and little is known about their experiences or the reasons why they choose to stop taking medication.
The aim of this review is to synthesize research literature focused on the experiences of people who decided to discontinue taking medication for their mental health problem.
A systematic review of qualitative studies was conducted. Data bases were searched for qualitative research which explored participants' motivations for discontinuing medication and their experiences of the process.
Six themes were identified (1) Taking medications a loss of autonomy, (2) Discontinuing medication a thought-out process, (3) Factors influencing the decision to discontinue medication, (4) Discontinuing medication experiences of the process, (5) Outcomes of discontinuing medication, (6) Managing mental distress in the absence of medication.
Service providers need to be aware that for some service user's psychotropic medication is not deemed a suitable treatment approach. 316 patients with UTUC who underwent radical surgery at a high-volume center in China between January 2008 and December 2019 were included in this study. We retrospectively collected the clinicopathologic data from the medical records, including age, sex, smoking history, ECOG performance status (ECOG PS), body mass index (BMI), tumor location and size, number of lesions, T stage, N stage, surgical approach and occurrence of hydronephrosis, lymph node invasion, lymph node dissection, surgical margin, tumor necrosis, infiltrative tumor architecture, lymphovascular invasion and concomitant bladder cancer. In this review, we characterize several prevalent populations of stromal cells in the PDA microenvironment and describe how the crosstalk among them drives and maintains immune suppression. We also summarize therapeutic approaches to target the stroma. With a better understanding of the complex cellular and molecular networks in PDA, strategies aimed at sensitizing PDA to chemotherapy or immunotherapy through re-programing the tumor microenvironment can be designed, and in turn lead to improved clinical treatment for pancreatic cancer patients.Invadopodia are actin-rich structures and their formation is implicated in cancer invasion and metastasis. Growing evidence has shown that noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) play important roles in pathological conditions, including tumorigenesis and metastasis. Although this is still a new area of research, ncRNAs appear to be promising biomarkers and therapeutic targets for cancer metastasis. However, understanding the roles of ncRNAs in invadopodia is still in the early stages and far from clinical application. In this mini-review, we summarize the roles of ncRNAs in invadopodia functions and discuss them in a therapeutic context. The current challenges and gaps in this field are also raised, and we provide some open questions to facilitate new ideas in targeting invadopodia in anticancer therapy.

Therefore, we reveal a mechanism connecting neuronal signaling to enhancer activities through BRG1 phosphorylation.The anti-tumor response of Vγ9Vδ2 T cells requires the sensing of accumulated phosphoantigens (pAgs) bound intracellularly to butyrophilin 3A1 (BTN3A1). In this study, we show that butyrophilin 2A1 (BTN2A1) is required for BTN3A-mediated Vγ9Vδ2 T cell cytotoxicity against cancer cells, and that expression of the BTN2A1/BTN3A1 complex is sufficient to trigger Vγ9Vδ2 TCR activation. Also, BTN2A1 interacts with all isoforms of BTN3A (BTN3A1, BTN3A2, BTN3A3), which appears to be a rate-limiting factor to BTN2A1 export to the plasma membrane. BTN2A1/BTN3A1 interaction is enhanced by pAgs and, strikingly, B30.2 domains of both proteins are required for pAg responsiveness. Previous studies have shown that the microtubule-severing ATPase katanin interacts with CAMSAPs and limits the length of CAMSAP-decorated microtubule stretches. However, how CAMSAP and microtubule minus end dynamics are regulated in neurons is poorly understood. Here, we show that the neuron-enriched protein WDR47 interacts with CAMSAPs and is critical for axon and dendrite development. We find that WDR47 accumulates at CAMSAP2-decorated microtubules, is essential for maintaining CAMSAP2 stretches, and protects minus ends from katanin-mediated severing. We propose a model where WDR47 protects CAMSAP2 at microtubule minus ends from katanin activity to ensure proper stabilization of the neuronal microtubule network.

Here, we show that the neuron-enriched protein WDR47 interacts with CAMSAPs and is critical for axon and dendrite development. We find that WDR47 accumulates at CAMSAP2-decorated microtubules, is essential for maintaining CAMSAP2 stretches, and protects minus ends from katanin-mediated severing. The study concluded that biogenic MgO-NPs could be used to formulate a potent nanofertilizer for sustainable rice production in metal contaminated soils.Coastal sediments, where microplastics (MPs) accumulate, support benthic microalgae (BMA) that contribute to ecosystem functions such as primary production, nutrient recycling and sediment biostabilization. The potential interactions between MPs, BMA and associated properties and functions remain poorly understood. To examine these interactions, a survey of 22 intertidal sites was conducted. MP abundance, size and a suite of MP diversity indices (based on color and shape) were determined from surface sediments alongside biochemical and physical properties. MPs were detected at all sites and dominated by polypropylene (34%), polyester (18%) and polyethylene (11%). Fragment and fiber dominance (16-92% and 6-81% respectively) and color-shape category diversity varied significantly by site. Distance-based linear models demonstrated that estuary-wide, mean grain size and mud were the best predictors of MP abundance-diversity matrices, but variance explained was low (9%). Relationships were improved when the data was split into sandy and muddy habitats. At the end of the marination, the numbers of Escherichia coli O157 H7, Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella Typhimurium on meat samples (≅6 log CFU/g) were decreased in the range of 0.7-2.7, 2.1-3.3 and 0.8-2.0 log CFU/g, respectively, depending on the type of ML and the treatment time used. Additionally, meat sample marinated with MLs containing L. casei was the most preferred sample in terms of appearance, color, flavor and general acceptability. The heterologous reconstitution of celastrol biosynthesis could be a promising method for the efficient production of celastrol and natural and unnatural derivatives thereof, yet only part of the biosynthetic pathway is known. Here, we report a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase (TwCYP712K1) from T. wilfordii that performs the three-step oxidation of friedelin to polpunonic acid in the celastrol pathway. Heterologous expression of TwCYP712K1 showed that TwCYP712K1 catalyses not only the transformation of friedelin to polpunonic acid but also the oxidation of β-amyrin or α-amyrin. The role of TwCYP712K1 in the biosynthesis of celastrol was further revealed via RNA interference. Some key residues of TwCYP712K1 were also screened by molecular docking and site-directed mutagenesis. Our results lay a solid foundation for further elucidating the biosynthesis of celastrol and related triterpenoids.
To gain insight into pregnant women's preferences if given a choice between getting antibiotic prophylaxis before or after cord clamping during caesarean delivery.
A qualitative semi-structured interview-study. The interviews were conducted at a Danish Hospital, with about 4000 deliveries a year. Fourteen individual semi-structured interviews were conducted with pregnant women, either considering or having a planned caesarean section, or scheduled for induction due to post-term gestational age. A systematic text condensation approach was used to analyze the transcribed interviews.
Ten of the fourteen women favored antibiotic administration after cord clamping. Despite any adverse effects to the infant's microbiota and increased risk of long-term health outcomes were only hypothetical and the risk reduction in postpartum infections being well documented, they did not want to expose their offspring to antibiotics. Those who preferred antibiotic prophylaxis before cord clamping were concerned, if they would be able to care for the infant in case of a maternal infection. Three of the women preferring antibiotics after cord clamping said they would potentially change preference, if the maternal risk was higher. Most women preferred to be informed of the use of prophylactic antibiotic and that the timing has consequences for trans-placental exposure to the infant.
With most of the interviewed women preferring antibiotic administration after cord clamping, we suggest patients should be involved in the decision regarding timing of prophylactic antibiotics before caesarean section.
