To implement the nursing process, based on the Neuman Systems Model and the International Classification of Nursing Practice terminology, in the care of an adolescent who underwent corrective surgery for juvenile idiopathic scoliosis.
This is a qualitative study of the type of single case, with triangulation of data collection techniques (formal clinical interview, notes in a field diary and medical record information), developed with a 17-year-old adolescent and indication for corrective surgery. The empirical materials generated with the interviews carried out at admission and at discharge, observation and medical record information were treated with categorical content analysis.
The categories of personal condition, anxiety, selfconcept, meaningful people, facilitating health resources, school, free time and leisure were recurrent. Diagnoses were defined with a focus on Anxiety, Knowledge on pain management (control) and Willingness (or readiness) to learn, associating them with the respective nursing interventions.
The Model contributed to assess and recognize surgery stressors for the adolescent and to theoretically base the nursing process. The classification allowed systematizing nursing care records, elements of clinical practice, unifying vocabulary and codes.

To evaluate the construct validity and internal consistency of the Brazilian version of Leisure Attitude Measurement for the elderly.
Methodological study with a quantitative approach. The data were collected for three months through domiciliary visits to a random and representative sample of 384 elders. The internal consistency was measured through Cronbach alpha coefficient. Construct validity was evaluated through exploratory factor analysis. Factor extraction was conducted per principal components, following the Kaiser criterion, with rotation through Varimax solution.
The participants' mean age was 70,9 and they were mostly women, married, living with relatives, with one to four years of education, and with an income of up to one minimum wage. The final model of the instrument has conserved three factors, under the parsimony criterion, explaining 50% of data variance, with a total of 27 items distributed across the cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains, with an overall Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.89.
The proposed structural model has shown construct validity and an appropriate internal consistency, explaining 50% of data variability. Its application can promote the understanding of social reality and encourage a positive attitude and elderly engagement in leisure activities.

To correlate the biometric measurements of the nasal area of premature and term newborns to provide parameters for a nasal protector model.
A crosssectional descriptive study, carried out in the neonatal joint accommodation, intermediate and intensive care units of a hospital in Maceio, Alagoas, with a total of 300 newborns, divided into two groups 150 term and 150 premature. Neonatal history data and 1200 digital photographs were used for biometric measurements.
The groups were homogeneous regarding gender, weight and length of the newborn. The measurements of nasal width, distance from the wing of the nose to the right and left columella midline, right and left nasal introitus area, length of the right and left nasal dorsum were different when compared in groups according to gestational age and weight ranges - very low weight, low weight and appropriate weight for gestational age (p<0.05).

The content validity index, Cronbach's alpha (α) and intraclass correlation coefficient were used.
The indicators achieved 89.9% adequacy, 82.5% clarity, internal consistency was α = 0.80, and the test-retest correlation was 0.93.
The instrument showed acceptable validity and reliability and can be used for the evaluation of Health Promotion interventions.

To study the prevalence and risk factors of myopia with data from a questionnaire study conducted in 1983 among Finnish school children.
School children (n=4 961) from the 1st, 5th and 8th grades of school (7-, 11- and 15-year-olds) in Central Finland were screened for vision followed by a questionnaire, which was returned by 4 352 (87.7%) participants. Myopia was categorized based on the questionnaire. Items concerned daily time spent on near work and outdoor activities, excluding time spent at school, watching TV and parental myopia and the associations of myopia with these factors were studied.
The prevalence of myopia was 3%, 15% and 27% among the 7-, 11- and 15-year-olds, and if daily near work at home was ≤1hr, myopia prevalence was 0.5%, 3.3% and 17.6%, respectively. The adjusted risk of myopia for each daily near work hour was OR 1.476 (95% confidence interval 1.099-1.984, p=0.010), OR 1.346 (1.170-1.584, p<0.001) and OR 1.206 (1.076-1.352, p=0.001), in the 3 age groups, respectively. The adjar work at home did not exceed one hour or if the near work/outdoors ratio was not higher than 0.5. Outdoors time was associated with the prevalence of myopia at all levels of near work, although the association was weaker at the highest level.

The structural modulation of ClBirA, combined with the in vivo and in vitro analyses, further reveals the action mechanism of ClBirA's dual roles as well as their interaction in C. ljungdahlii. Importantly, an atypical, flexible architecture of the binding site was found to be employed by ClBirA in the regulation of a lot of essential pathway genes, thereby expanding BirA's target genes to a broader range in clostridia. Based on these findings, molecular modification of ClBirA was performed, and an improved cellular performance of C. ljungdahlii was achieved in gas fermentation. This work reveals a previously unknown potent role of BirA in gas-fermenting clostridia, providing new perspective for understanding and engineering these autotrophic bacteria.Plant-derived alkaloids are bioactive natural ingredients, but their contents are relatively low in plants. Superior selectivity between alkaloids and non-alkaloids was achieved in a non-aqueous system, and a simple solvent system containing low-content additives was applied to elute alkaloids. Key parameters that affected the elution were investigated, including different types of buffer salts and optimized concentrations. Further, the exosomes treated by the ENP can deliver their drug cargos to human non-small cell lung cancer cells and induce cell death, indicating the potential opportunities of the device for developing new exosome-based delivery vehicles for medical and biological applications.
The purpose of this study was to retrospectively observe the anatomic relationship between dorsal S1 foramen (DS1F) and ventral S1 foramen (VS1F) through computed tomography (CT) analysis and to prospectively determine the optimal angle of ipsilateral tunnel view technique for performing S1 transforaminal epidural steroid injection (S1-TFESI).
The axial lumbosacral CTs taken between in 208 consecutive patients and the following measurements were obtained on both sides (1) the α-angle was defined as an angle between a sagittal line passing through the center of the sacrum and an imaginary line passing through the center of DS1F, (2) the largest diameter of DS1F and VS1F. The fluoroscopy was adjusted to show the largest L5/S1 intervertebral disc space, which was defined as the cephalad angle, and tilted to the ipsilateral oblique side until the entrance of DS1F had a well-defined, round shape, which defined as the β-angle in 40 humans.
CT measurements showed that the α-angle was 26.3±3.3 degrees (15-38 degrees) and the diameter of DS1F was 7.

Cymbidium dayanum, a wild orchid species in the Orchid family (Orchidaceae), is considered highly valuable because of its long flowering period and beautiful plant shape. We sequenced the complete chloroplast genome of C. dayanum using the Illumina Hiseq platform (Illumina, San Diego, CA). The size of the C. dayanum chloroplast genome is 155,408 bp, with an average GC content of 36.76%. This chloroplast genome has containing a large single-copy (LSC) region of 84,189 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 17,991 bp, and two inverted (IRa and IRb) repeat regions of two 26,614 bp. A total of 118 unique genes were annotated, including 76 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. A maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree indicated that C. dayanum is closely related to C. tracyanum in the genus Cymbidium based on 9 whole chloroplast genome sequences.Ficus formosana Maxim is an economically valuable plant that is traditionally used in Chinese medicine. Here, we assembled the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of F. formosana using Illumina high-throughput sequencing technology. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome sequence of P. japonica was assembled and characterized from high-throughput sequencing data. The chloroplast genome is 151,374 bp in length, consisting of a large single-copy (LSC) and a small single-copy (SSC) regions of 83,395 bp and 17,073 bp, respectively, which were separated by a pair of 25,453 bp inverted repeat (IR) regions. A phylogenetic tree reconstructed using 23 chloroplast genomes reveals that Peristrophe form a separate group which is a sister of the genus Dicliptera. Cymbidium dayanum, a wild orchid species in the Orchid family (Orchidaceae), is considered highly valuable because of its long flowering period and beautiful plant shape. We sequenced the complete chloroplast genome of C. dayanum using the Illumina Hiseq platform (Illumina, San Diego, CA). The size of the C. dayanum chloroplast genome is 155,408 bp, with an average GC content of 36.76%. This chloroplast genome has containing a large single-copy (LSC) region of 84,189 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 17,991 bp, and two inverted (IRa and IRb) repeat regions of two 26,614 bp. A total of 118 unique genes were annotated, including 76 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. They completed knowledge surveys at the beginning and attitude surveys at the beginning and end of each season of participation. Attitudes toward infection prevention and control measures, especially medical masks and N95 respirators, were compared. The proportion of participants who correctly identified all components of an infection control bundle for seven clinical scenarios was calculated.
The proportion of participants in the medical mask group who reported at least one reason to avoid using medical masks fell from 88.5% on the pre-season survey to 39.6% on the post-season survey (odds ratio [OR] for preseason vs. postseason 0.11, 95% CI 0.10-0.14). Among those wearing N95 respirators, the proportion fell from 87.9% to 53.6% (OR 0.24, 95% CI 0.21-0.28). Participants correctly identified all components of the infection control bundle for 4.9% to 38.5% of scenarios.

The taxonomic position of two isolates, SGD-V-76T and SGD-M-37, isolated from sediment sample of Veraval coast, India, was examined using the polyphasic taxonomic approach. The morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics of these two organisms are typical of the genus Priestia. The phylogenetic analyses performed using almost complete 16S rRNA gene sequences demonstrated that the isolate belongs to the Bacillaceae family, and forms a clade within the cluster containing Priestia flexus **** 2909T, Priestia aryabhattai B8W22T and Priestia megaterium KCTC 3007T and both strains showed highest similarity of > 98% with 3-29 nucleotide differences. The cell wall contained meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid. The predominant isoprenoid quinone was MK-7 and the G + C content of strains was 37.5-37.7 mol%. However, the DNA-DNA hybridization and the phenotypic characteristics revealed that, the strain SGD-V-76T and strain SGD-M-37 are similar species but different from any known Priestia species with ANI values of 79.2, 79.3 and 79.2 and the dDDH values of 17.7, 17.8 and 18.0% respectively. On the basis of phenotypic characteristics, phylogenetic analysis and the results of biochemical and physiological tests, and genomic data strain SGD-V-76T was clearly distinguished from closely related members of the Priestia genus. Iliosacral (IS) and transsacral (TS) screws are commonly used to stabilize pelvic ring injuries. The course of the superior gluteal artery (SGA) can be close to implant insertion paths. The third sacral segment (S3) has been described as a viable osseous fixation pathway (OFP) but the proximity of the SGA to the S3 screw path is unknown.
Fifty uninjured patients with contrasted pelvic computed tomograms (CTA) were identified with an S3 path large enough for a 7.0mm TS screw. Starting sites for S1 IS or TS, S2 and S3 TS screws were located on the volume rendered lateral CTA image and transferred onto the surface rendered 3D CTA with the SGA clearly visible. The distance from screw start sites to the SGA was measured. A distance less than 3.5mm was considered likely for injury.
The average distances from screw start sites to the SGA were 23.0 ± 7.9mm for S1 IS screws, 14.3 ± 6.4mm for S2 TS screws and 25.9 ± 6.5mm for S3 TS screws. No S1 IS screws, 5 S2 TS screws (10%), and no S3 TS screws were projected to cause injury to the SGA.

The taxonomic position of two isolates, SGD-V-76T and SGD-M-37, isolated from sediment sample of Veraval coast, India, was examined using the polyphasic taxonomic approach. The morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics of these two organisms are typical of the genus Priestia. The phylogenetic analyses performed using almost complete 16S rRNA gene sequences demonstrated that the isolate belongs to the Bacillaceae family, and forms a clade within the cluster containing Priestia flexus MTCC 2909T, Priestia aryabhattai B8W22T and Priestia megaterium KCTC 3007T and both strains showed highest similarity of > 98% with 3-29 nucleotide differences. The cell wall contained meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid. The predominant isoprenoid quinone was MK-7 and the G + C content of strains was 37.5-37.7 mol%. However, the DNA-DNA hybridization and the phenotypic characteristics revealed that, the strain SGD-V-76T and strain SGD-M-37 are similar species but different from any known Priestia species with ANI values of 79.2, 79.3 and 79.2 and the dDDH values of 17.7, 17.8 and 18.0% respectively. On the basis of phenotypic characteristics, phylogenetic analysis and the results of biochemical and physiological tests, and genomic data strain SGD-V-76T was clearly distinguished from closely related members of the Priestia genus. To evaluate fibroblast-activation-protein (FAP) expression in different clinical stages of prostate cancer (PC) with regards to utility of [ Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT imaging in patients with castration-resistant PC (CRPC). Tissue microarrays (TMAs) were constructed from prostatic tissue from 94 patients at different stages of PC (primary PC, patients undergoing neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy, CRPC, and neuroendocrine PC (NEPC)) and were stained with anti-FAP monoclonal antibody. A positive pixel count algorithm (H-Index) was used to compare FAP expression between the groups. Additionally, three men with advanced CRPC or NEPC underwent [ Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT, and PET positivity was analyzed. From March 2017, 226 patients were consecutively included 113 patients were treated using the COP implantation technique compared with the previous 113 consecutive patients treated using the classic technique. In all patients, implantation depth was assessed by 3 methods (noncoronary cusp to the THV, mean of the noncoronary cusp and the left coronary cusp to the THV, and the deepest edge from the left coronary cusp and the noncoronary cusp to the THV).
The COP group had a lower implantation depth than the group treated with the classic technique (4.8mm±2.2 vs 5.7mm±3.1; P=.011; 5.8mm± 3.1 vs 6.5mm±2.4; P=.095; 7.1 mm±2.8 vs 7.4mm±3.2; P=.392). Forty patients (17.7%) required a new PPMI after the 30-day follow-up but this requirement was significantly lower in the COP group (12.4% vs 23%, P=.036). The COP implantation technique consistently protected against the main event (OR,0.45; 95%CI, 0.21-0.97; P=.043), with similar procedural success rates and complications.

In this review, we focus on reviewing studies on subclinical atherosclerosis by CCTA in individuals with chronic inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematous (SLE), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and psoriasis. We start with a brief review on the role of inflammation in atherosclerosis, highlight the utility of using CCTA to delineate vessel wall and plaque characteristics and discuss combining CCTA with laboratory studies and emerging technologies to complement traditional risk stratification in chronic inflammatory states.

An immunohistochemical analysis of BMP4 expression in primary neuroblastomas confirms a striking absence of BMP4 in poorly differentiated tumors, in contrast to a high expression in ganglion cells. These results are consistent with a tumor suppressive role for BMP4 in neuroblastoma. RNA sequencing following BMP4 treatment revealed induction of Notch signaling, verified by increases of Notch3 and Hes1 proteins. An immunohistochemical analysis of BMP4 expression in primary neuroblastomas confirms a striking absence of BMP4 in poorly differentiated tumors, in contrast to a high expression in ganglion cells. These results are consistent with a tumor suppressive role for BMP4 in neuroblastoma. RNA sequencing following BMP4 treatment revealed induction of Notch signaling, verified by increases of Notch3 and Hes1 proteins. Such a standard of care is unsatisfactory to both patients and healthcare practitioners. There is a pressing need to introduce more specific diagnostic methods, as well as effective and safe therapies for patients with shellfish allergy. Knowledge gained on the identifications and defining the immuno-molecular features of different shellfish allergens over the past two decades have gradually translated into the design of new diagnostic and treatment options for shellfish allergy. As many as 50% of hospitalised patients are estimated to be malnourished or at risk of malnutrition on hospital admission, but this condition often goes unrecognised, undiagnosed and untreated. Malnutrition is associated with an elevated need for continued medical interventions, higher costs of care and increased patient safety risks. Tampa General Hospital (TGH), a large teaching hospital in the southeastern USA, initiated a project to improve the quality of patient care at its institution. They did this first by focusing on improving the care quality for their malnourished patients (or patients who were at risk of malnourishment) and by using elements of the national Malnutrition Quality Improvement Initiative (MQii) Toolkit as a mechanism to measure and improve quality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of quality improvement interventions on patient length of stay (LOS), infection rates and readmissions, particularly for malnourished patients. The structure of the MQii and the use of the MQand a 35.7% reduction in infection rates (from 14% to 9%, p less then 0.01). No statistically significant changes in readmission rates were observed. This study adds to a growing body of literature on quality improvement processes hospitals can undertake to better identify and treat malnourished patients. While obesity induced by the cocoa butter HFD was associated with accelerated mammary tumor growth, consumption of the fish oil HFD uncoupled obesity from increased mammary tumor growth and exhibited a decrease in pro-tumor macrophages. Compared to FA components in both HFD, n-3 FA rich in the fish oil HFD induced significant production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and macrophage death. Moreover, A-FABP expression in the pro-tumor macrophages facilitated intracellular transportation of n-3 FA and oxidation of mitochondrial FA. A-FABP deficiency diminished n-3 FA-mediated ROS production and macrophage death in vitro and in vivo. Together, our results demonstrate a novel mechanism by which n-3 FA induce ROS-mediated pro-tumor macrophage death in an A-FABP dependent manner.

By comparison with the reference standards and previous researches, we tentatively identified 47 GSLs including 8 unknown ones. The GSLs profiles of 25 Brassicaceae tissues were established, and 11 markers of GSLs could be used to distinguish the Brassica and Raphanus. This approach enables accurately characterization the GSLs of Brassicaceae tissues, and demonstrates the potential of GSLs profiles for Brassicaceae species discrimination.Organic food consumption has increased significantly over time. The characteristics of the biosynthesis ZnO-NPs from Lactobacillus gasseri were studied using UV-visible spectroscopy, TEM, SEM, DLS, FT-IR, XRD, and antimicrobial activity. The characteristic examination depicted cubic structures, pure and spherical ZnO-NPs with a diameter size of 22 nm. Antimicrobial study of ZnO-NPs displayed better higher antimicrobial activity on food pathogens in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, integrated biosynthesis ZnO-NPs in yogurt positively affected the shelf life of yogurt during storage for four weeks without changes in the sensory evaluation. The microbiological population of fortified yogurt significantly reduced during storage than control. But chemically evaluation of fortified yogurt indicated an increase in dry matter, protein, and ash content than control. The achieved results suggested that the low amount of biosynthesized ZnO-NPs lead to the development of properties of integrated yogurt.

All tested lactobacilli able to biosynthesis ZnO-NPs indicated by white precipitates. The characteristics of the biosynthesis ZnO-NPs from Lactobacillus gasseri were studied using UV-visible spectroscopy, TEM, SEM, DLS, FT-IR, XRD, and antimicrobial activity. The characteristic examination depicted cubic structures, pure and spherical ZnO-NPs with a diameter size of 22 nm. Antimicrobial study of ZnO-NPs displayed better higher antimicrobial activity on food pathogens in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, integrated biosynthesis ZnO-NPs in yogurt positively affected the shelf life of yogurt during storage for four weeks without changes in the sensory evaluation. The microbiological population of fortified yogurt significantly reduced during storage than control. But chemically evaluation of fortified yogurt indicated an increase in dry matter, protein, and ash content than control.
