The current study aims to investigate the coverage of HPV-related information on one of the most popular Chinese social media - Zhihu. Data for this study were user-generated articles, which were identified and collected by a Python web crawler with keyword searching. The final sample included a total of 115 articles, covering a two-year period between 2017 and 2018. Each article was coded for several key characteristics, including HPV epidemiological information, health belief model (HBM) constructs, framing strategy, and responses to the article. Results suggested that most of the articles reported HPV's relationship to cervical cancer, HPV severity, and vaccination benefits. Thematic framing was more often used by the Zhihu articles to disseminate HPV-related issues, and a significant relationship between framing strategy and information coverage was found. The study has not only theoretically extended the literature of online HPV vaccine information coverage, but also practically suggested the needs to communicate comprehensive and detailed knowledge about HPV vaccination on Chinese social media.While the study of unconstrained movements has revealed important features of neural control, generalizing those insights to more sophisticated object manipulation is challenging. Humans excel at physical interaction with objects, even when those objects introduce complex dynamics and kinematic constraints. This study examined humans turning a horizontal planar crank (radius 10 cm) at their preferred and three instructed speeds (with visual feedback), both in clockwise and counterclockwise directions. To explore the role of neuro-mechanical dynamics, the instructed speeds covered a wide range fast (near the limits of performance), medium (near preferred speed), and very slow (rendering dynamic effects negligible). Because kinematically-constrained movements involve significant physical interaction, disentangling neural control from the influences of biomechanics presents a challenge. To address it, we modeled the interactive dynamics to 'subtract off' peripheral biomechanics from observed force and kinematic data, thereby estimating aspects of underlying neural action that may be expressed in terms of motion.

The aim of this study was to investigate the substance abuse of nursing students in the form of alcohol, drugs and tobacco use during the course of studies. In addition, another study aim was to describe a typical socio-demographic profile for substance-abusing students.
A longitudinal study design based on a sample of 254 nursing students was used. Data from the same cohort of students at the baseline level (T0), at the end of the first year (T1), at the end of the second year (T2) and at the end of the third year (T3) were analysed.
A decrease in the number of nursing students who smoke regularly, an increase in the number of those who use drugs to lose control and of those who drink weekly were found.

We conducted an observational study between May and August 2018, using an online questionnaire for women who have delivered in the last 3 years. Data was processed using descriptive and bivariate analysis, considering satisfaction as outcome.
Sample includes 1229 women. About 73% had a spontaneous vaginal delivery, of which 29.3% received a Kristeller manoeuvre and 34,4% episiotomy. Three women out of 10 complaint about lack of involving in the decision-making process, 13.9% of women believe that their delivery's experience can negatively influence their decision to have another child, and 19.8% would like not to give birth again in the same hospital. Four women out of 10 are only partially satisfied with the care received and 6.4% is not satisfied at all. Satisfaction is significantly associated to the following variables age more than 25 years old, positive environment during labour, gentle attitude of healthcare provider, respect of needs, respect of dignity, woman's inclusion in the decision making process, presence of a trustworthy person during the labour/delivery, vaginal delivery, positive delivery's experience, episiotomy, Kristeller manoeuvre, skin-to-skin contact, support during breastfeeding and postpartum period, choice to come **** in the hospital for another delivery.
We should implement strategies to promote the mother-partner-child triad as a central focus during delivery and allocate human resources in more efficient ways.

Web and social networks play a crucial role in health information seeking and health literacy levels. In the last ten years people are able to access a wide range of health information from a plethora of sources. People who live in the city experience an increased stimulus level related to the density of people and the overload of information inputs.
We undertook a census analysis of groups on a social network to identify the importance of health information for the all population and with the aim to evaluate the intersection between digital health information seeking, social networks, and social capital.
This study shows that there is a relevant growing number of groups health-related, especially connected to chronic disease and another aspect relevant to the daily health of the population. The study identifies two aspect in all groups one aspect is connected to share information about treatment and medication and other aspect connected to the relationship in terms of sharing experiences and emotional understanding health information and health literacy, use of social networks and the key role of the environment, infrastructure, algorithms and construction in building social capital of individuals and society. It's necessary avoid to think that people live in many separate islands, instead in the same interconnected arena with health professionals that have to work for a better understanding of digital and social networks.
Meeting the literature standards during the triage process of trauma victims, allows to make optimal use of the resources available in Trauma Centers and defines their level of quality and efficiency. Otherwise, it may occur over or under-triage. Up to now, in the reality under study and in the national literature, there wasn't any available data about efficiency and effectiveness in the triage of traumatic patients, therefore the primary objective of this study is to evaluate the over and under-triage rate in activating Trauma Team (TT) in the ASST of Monza San Gerardo Hospital.
The study design is retrospective monocentric observational.
During the analysis, the TT-activation in ASST of Monza-San Gerardo Hospital produced an over-triage of 62,9% and an under-triage of 1,7% for the same year.
The use of TT-activation algorithm is the first step of the entire care process ofthe trauma victim. This tool should guarantee the right balance between high sensitivity and high specificity (minimum over-triage rate with the possibility of higher under-triage). However, there is no sharing of these algorithms as they are inhomogeneous in the different realities; for example, the definition of major trauma, of TT and of its composition is still uneven.
This study measured the over and under-triage rate related to the TT activation in the ASST of Monza. It is therefore advisable to monitor those rates periodically, as possible indicators of quality of assistance and to pursue the mission of increasing efficiency as well as effectiveness.

Studies regarding the influence of green coffee extract (GCE) on blood glucose levels are conflicting. Thus, we sought to conduct a meta-analysis and systematic review of all available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to quantify the effects of GCE and CGA intervention on blood glucose and insulin levels. We performed systematic online searches in Scopus, Web of science, and PubMed databases, from inception to July 2019. Data were combined analyzed using a random effects model (Der Simonian-Laird method) and reported as weighted mean differences (WMD). Ten trials reported the influences of GCE on FBS and insulin and were subsequently entered into the meta-analysis. Combined results highlighted that FBS was significantly altered after GCE consumption (WMD -1.791 mg/dl, 95% CI -3.404, -0.177), with no significant heterogeneity among the studies (I2 = 35.0%, p = .128). However, overall results demonstrated that GCE administration did not result in any significant alteration in insulin levels (WMD -0.925 μU/ml, 95% CI-1.915, 0.064), with significant heterogeneity found across studies (I2 = 87.9%). In sub-group analysis, insulin levels were significantly reduced when GCE was supplemented in dosages of ≥400 mg/day (WMD-1.942 mg/dl, 95% CI-1.184, -0.975; I2 = 0.0%). The results of present study support the use of GCE for the enhancement of blood glucose, while subgroup analysis highlighted significant improvements in insulin levels when GCE is supplemented in doses ≥400 mg/day. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.BACKGROUND Percutaneous ultrasound (US)-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of adrenal gland lesions is controversial in veterinary medicine. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the frequency and radiologists' perception of the risk of the procedure as well as determining the incidence of complications. METHODS Retrospective study. A first survey was submitted by e-mail to all board-certified radiologists of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) and European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). A second survey was sent to radiologists who declared having performed the procedure at least once in their career (observational cross-sectional case study). RESULTS The first survey was sent to 977 diplomates and answered by 138. Of 138 diplomates, 40 currently performed the procedure and 98 did not; 44 of the 98 gave the hypertensive crisis risk in pheochromocytoma as a reason. To the second survey, 12 of 65 responded positively; 50 dogs with 58 lesions were recruited, including 23 pheochromocytomas. Complications were reported in 4 of 50 dogs; 3 hemorrhages (1 mild and 1 moderate) and 1 death from acute respiratory distress syndrome (possibly related to laryngeal paralysis). No hypertensive crisis was reported. There was no relationship between the method of FNA/type of needle used and occurrence of complications. Based on the recollection of these 65 radiologists, who performed approximately 200 FNA of adrenal lesions, a death rate of approximately 1% was estimated. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPORTANCE Percutaneous US-guided FNA of adrenal lesions can be considered a minimally risky procedure, despite the negative perception by radiologists. © 2020 The Authors. Polycystin-1/polycystin-2 (PC1/PC2) functions as a mechanosensory complex in the kidney. Extracellular ATP is implicated in polycystic kidney disease (PKD), where PC1/PC2 is dysfunctional. This study aims to provide new insights into the ATP signaling under physiological conditions and PKD. Microfluidics, pharmacologic inhibition, and loss-of-function approaches were combined to assess the ATP release in mouse distal convoluted tubule 15 (mDCT15) cells. Kidney-specific Pkd1 knockout **** (iKsp-Pkd1-/- ) and zebrafish pkd2 morphants (pkd2-MO) were as models for PKD. FSS-exposed mDCT15 cells displayed increased ATP release. Studies regarding the influence of green coffee extract (GCE) on blood glucose levels are conflicting. Thus, we sought to conduct a meta-analysis and systematic review of all available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to quantify the effects of GCE and CGA intervention on blood glucose and insulin levels. We performed systematic online searches in Scopus, Web of science, and PubMed databases, from inception to July 2019. Data were combined analyzed using a random effects model (Der Simonian-Laird method) and reported as weighted mean differences (WMD). Ten trials reported the influences of GCE on FBS and insulin and were subsequently entered into the meta-analysis. Combined results highlighted that FBS was significantly altered after GCE consumption (WMD -1.791 mg/dl, 95% CI -3.404, -0.177), with no significant heterogeneity among the studies (I2 = 35.0%, p = .128). However, overall results demonstrated that GCE administration did not result in any significant alteration in insulin levels (WMD -0.925 μU/ml, 95% CI-1.915, 0.064), with significant heterogeneity found across studies (I2 = 87.9%). In sub-group analysis, insulin levels were significantly reduced when GCE was supplemented in dosages of ≥400 mg/day (WMD-1.942 mg/dl, 95% CI-1.184, -0.975; I2 = 0.0%). The results of present study support the use of GCE for the enhancement of blood glucose, while subgroup analysis highlighted significant improvements in insulin levels when GCE is supplemented in doses ≥400 mg/day. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.BACKGROUND Percutaneous ultrasound (US)-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of adrenal gland lesions is controversial in veterinary medicine. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the frequency and radiologists' perception of the risk of the procedure as well as determining the incidence of complications. METHODS Retrospective study. A first survey was submitted by e-mail to all board-certified radiologists of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) and European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). A second survey was sent to radiologists who declared having performed the procedure at least once in their career (observational cross-sectional case study). RESULTS The first survey was sent to 977 diplomates and answered by 138. Of 138 diplomates, 40 currently performed the procedure and 98 did not; 44 of the 98 gave the hypertensive crisis risk in pheochromocytoma as a reason. To the second survey, 12 of 65 responded positively; 50 dogs with 58 lesions were recruited, including 23 pheochromocytomas. Complications were reported in 4 of 50 dogs; 3 hemorrhages (1 mild and 1 moderate) and 1 death from acute respiratory distress syndrome (possibly related to laryngeal paralysis). No hypertensive crisis was reported. There was no relationship between the method of FNA/type of needle used and occurrence of complications. Based on the recollection of these 65 radiologists, who performed approximately 200 FNA of adrenal lesions, a death rate of approximately 1% was estimated. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPORTANCE Percutaneous US-guided FNA of adrenal lesions can be considered a minimally risky procedure, despite the negative perception by radiologists. © 2020 The Authors. This study aims to provide new insights into the ATP signaling under physiological conditions and PKD. Microfluidics, pharmacologic inhibition, and loss-of-function approaches were combined to assess the ATP release in mouse distal convoluted tubule 15 (mDCT15) cells. Kidney-specific Pkd1 knockout mice (iKsp-Pkd1-/- ) and zebrafish pkd2 morphants (pkd2-MO) were as models for PKD. FSS-exposed mDCT15 cells displayed increased ATP release. First, we revisited the reported NMR data of bradyoxetin, a putative cell density factor of Bradyrhizobium japonicum, and found some inconsistencies in the proposed structure. To elucidate the correct structure, we synthesized model oxetane compounds and confirmed that the NMR data of the synthetic compounds did not match those of the reported bradyoxetin. After reinterpreting the reported NMR data, we concluded that bradyoxetin must be chloramphenicol. Next, some derivatives of 2-hydroxy-4-((methylamino)(phenyl)methyl)cyclopentanone (HMCP), which is a putative quorum-sensing molecule of Ralstonia solanacearum, were synthesized. The NMR spectra of the synthesized compounds were completely different from those of the reported natural products. Based on theoretical studies, including the estimation of 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts using density functional theory calculations, we confirmed the correctness of the structure of the synthesized compound. MAM is a promising approach that is intended to replace or supplement several conventional assays with a single LC-MS analysis and can be implemented in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice environment. MAM provides accurate site-specific quantitation information on targeted attributes and the nontargeted new peak detection function allows to detect new peaks as impurities, modifications, or sequence variants when comparing to a reference sample. The high resolution MAM workflow was applied here for three independent case studies. First, to monitor the behavior of monoclonal antibody product quality attributes over the course of a 12-day cell culture experiment providing an insight into the behavior and dynamics of product attributes throughout the process. Second, the workflow was applied to test the purity and identity of a product through analysis of samples spiked with host cell proteins. Third, through the comparison of a drug product and a biosimilar with known sequence variants. The three case studies presented here, clearly demonstrate the robustness and accuracy of the MAM workflow that implies suitability for deployment in the regulated environment.A metal-free Hantzsch ester-mediated synthesis of cyclopentenylketones as well as γ-hetarylketones starting from ketocyclopropanes under eco-friendly conditions was developed. The versatility of the developed conditions is shown by reacting ketocyclopropanes in both a formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition with terminal alkynes (further investigated using theoretical calculations) and a radical C-C-coupling with cyanopyridines. The newly developed methodologies were later on utilized as a downstream reaction for photogenerated cyclopropanes combining UV and visible light photochemistry. Following this procedure, a UV-driven Norrish-Yang-type reaction induces the ring strain of the intermediates, which serves as activation energy for the subsequent ring transformation.A visible-light-induced metal-free synthesis of 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds from alkyne-containing aryl iodides via photochemical C-I bond cleavage, intramolecular cyclization, oxidation, and intermolecular radical coupling sequence is reported. This protocol provided a new strategy for the synthesis of 1,4-dicarbonyl bifluorene compounds.Colorectal cancer is considered one of the leading causes of death that is linked with the Kirsten Rat Sarcoma (KRAS) harboring codons 13 and 61 mutations. The objective for this study is to search for clinically important codon 61 mutations and analyze how they affect the protein structural dynamics. Additionally, a deep-learning approach is used to carry out a similarity search for potential compounds that might have a comparatively better affinity. Public databases like The Cancer Genome Atlas and Genomic Data Commons were accessed for obtaining the data regarding mutations that are associated with colon cancer. Multiple analysis such as genomic alteration landscape, survival analysis, and systems biology-based kinetic simulations were carried out to predict dynamic changes for the selected mutations. Additionally, a molecular dynamics simulation of 100 ns for all the seven shortlisted codon 61 mutations have been conducted, which revealed noticeable deviations. Finally, the deep learning-based predicted compounds were docked with the KRAS 3D conformer, showing better affinity and good docking scores as compared to the already existing drugs. Taking together the outcomes of systems biology and molecular dynamics, it is observed that the reported mutations in the SII region are highly detrimental as they have an immense impact on the protein sensitive sites' native conformation and overall stability. The drugs reported in this study show increased performance and are encouraged to be used for further evaluation regarding the situation that ascends as a result of KRAS mutations.

The effect of microbial transglutaminase (MTGase) in cross-linking and modifying of rice glutelin-casein blends was investigated in this work. The maximum MTGase activity on rice glutelin-casein blends were found when its addition was 15 U/g of protein. Compared with the blends without MTGase, the appropriate addition of MTGase significantly affected the microstructure of the cross-linked proteins, resulting in the gradual 'burying' of Trp residue; while the space for hydrogen bonding was more abundant. Secondary structure changes, denoted by the disappearance of the α-helix and the decrement of the β-sheet structure, was due to the formation of the large loop and random coil structures. The MTGase-catalyzed reaction improves the protease resistance of the blends but not promote the conversion of free sulfhydryl groups (-SH) to disulfide groups (S-S). All the samples evaluated exhibited Bingham flow behavior instead of shear-thinning behavior, and thermally stable fluid properties dominated by elasticity, regardless of MTGase concentration used. Both the storage modulus (G') and loss modulus (G'') gradually decreased with the addition of MTGase. However, drying technologies often expose probiotic cells to extreme environmental conditions that reduces cell viability. Hence, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of using ultra high-pressure homogenization (UHPH) on soymilk's microencapsulating ability, and the resultant effect on the survivability of probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum NRRL B-1927 (LP) during drying. Liquid suspensions containing LP (~109 CFU/g of solids) were prepared by suspending LP cultures in soymilk which had been either treated with UHPH at 150 MPa or 300 MPa or left untreated. LP suspensions were then dried by concurrent spray drying (CCSD), mixed-flow spray drying (MXSD) or freeze-drying (FD). Cell counts of LP were determined before and after microencapsulation. Moisture, water activity, particle size and morphology of LP powders were also characterized. LP powders produced with 300 MPa treated soymilk had 8.7, 6.4, and 2 times more cell counts than those produced with non-UHPH treated soymilk during CCSD, MXSD, and FD, respectively. In the 300 MPa treated samples, cell survival (%) of LP during drying was the highest in MXSD (83.72) followed by FD (76.31) and CCSD (34.01). Using soymilk treated at higher UHPH pressures resulted in LP powders with lower moisture content, smaller particle sizes and higher agglomeration. LP powders produced via MXSD showed higher agglomeration and fewer signs of thermal damage than powders produced via CCSD. This study demonstrates that UHPH improves the effectiveness of soymilk as a microencapsulant for probiotics, creating probiotic powders that could be used in plant-based and non-dairy foods.In food formulations, lipids are normally incorporated as emulsions stabilized by different types of emulsifiers. The emulsifiers can affect fatty acid (FA) solubilization as they can interact with FA. The main purpose of the present work is the development of a methodology to evaluate the FA solubilization in an aqueous medium in the absence and presence of exogenous emulsifiers. To this end, a combination of turbidimetry, oiling off and dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used. The FA solubility, as well as its supramolecular assemblies, were determined by analyzing the changes in the turbidity profile and the corresponding size of particles obtained by DLS. Oleic acid (OA) was used as a model FA and a simulated intestinal fluid (SIF) as the aqueous phase. Emulsifiers of low (Tween 80) and high (protein and polysaccharide) molecular weight were tested. Tween 80 was the only emulsifier that improved OA solubilization, whereas the macromolecules only affected the supramolecular structure that OA adopted, being the structure of these assemblies governed by the emulsifier nature.Rosmarinus officinalis L. is a widespread aromatic plant commonly consumed as a tea in traditional cuisine and in folk medicine to treat various illnesses due to its therapeutic properties. To the best of our knowledge, there are no reports on the bioavailability and metabolism of R. officinalis tea polyphenols in humans. This study was aimed at assessing the bioavailability and nutrikinetics of R. officinalis phenolic compounds in healthy humans for the first time. Forty-eight compounds were identified in plasma and urine. Few un-metabolized compounds were detected since rosemary polyphenols were extensively metabolized into phase II conjugates, with rapid appearance and clearance in plasma, pointing to small intestinal absorption. Phase II derivatives of caffeic acid showed kinetics compatible with both intestinal and colonic hydrolysis of rosmarinic acid yielding free caffeic and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-lactic acids, which were absorbed and metabolized into phase II derivatives. These metabolites, along with reduced forms of caffeic acid and their phase II metabolites, and those of hydroxyphenylpropionic, hydroxylphenylacetic, benzoic and hippuric acids, highlight the importance of colonic absorption. Total urinary excretion of the phenols added up to 235 µmol, corresponding to 22.3% of the ingested amount (1055 µM). In conclusion, rosemary tea polyphenols are partially bioavailable and extensively metabolized, mainly by the colonic microbiota.The aim of this study was to investigate the attributes of the pulp and nut oils from Terminalia catappa fruits obtained by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) with pressurized CO2. The yield, physico-chemical characterization and fatty acid profiles of both oils were assessed based on their acidity and peroxide indices, thermogravimetric behavior, infrared spectroscopic and gas chromatographic analyses. The extraction yields were 7.4% and 61.5% for the pulp and nut from T. catappa, respectively. The pulp and nut oils exhibited low levels of acidity, 3.3 and 1.9 mg KOH g-1, and peroxides, 3.8 and 1.7 mEq kg-1, respectively. These values are lower than the maximum recommended levels given by the Codex Alimentarius for virgin oils (4.0 mg KOH g-1 and 15 mEq Kg-1, respectively). Unsaturated fatty acids were a major constituent of the oils (58%), of which omegas 3 and 6 were predominant. The infrared spectroscopy of the nut oil showed high intensity bands between 2912 and 716 cm-1, representative of chemical groups commonly present in unsaturated fatty acids.

Hence, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of using ultra high-pressure homogenization (UHPH) on soymilk's microencapsulating ability, and the resultant effect on the survivability of probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum NRRL B-1927 (LP) during drying. Liquid suspensions containing LP (~109 CFU/g of solids) were prepared by suspending LP cultures in soymilk which had been either treated with UHPH at 150 MPa or 300 MPa or left untreated. LP suspensions were then dried by concurrent spray drying (CCSD), mixed-flow spray drying (MXSD) or freeze-drying (FD). Cell counts of LP were determined before and after microencapsulation. Moisture, water activity, particle size and morphology of LP powders were also characterized. LP powders produced with 300 MPa treated soymilk had 8.7, 6.4, and 2 times more cell counts than those produced with non-UHPH treated soymilk during CCSD, MXSD, and FD, respectively. In the 300 MPa treated samples, cell survival (%) of LP during drying was the highest in MXSD (83.72) followed by FD (76.31) and CCSD (34.01). Using soymilk treated at higher UHPH pressures resulted in LP powders with lower moisture content, smaller particle sizes and higher agglomeration. LP powders produced via MXSD showed higher agglomeration and fewer signs of thermal damage than powders produced via CCSD. The main purpose of the present work is the development of a methodology to evaluate the FA solubilization in an aqueous medium in the absence and presence of exogenous emulsifiers. To this end, a combination of turbidimetry, oiling off and dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used. The FA solubility, as well as its supramolecular assemblies, were determined by analyzing the changes in the turbidity profile and the corresponding size of particles obtained by DLS. Oleic acid (OA) was used as a model FA and a simulated intestinal fluid (SIF) as the aqueous phase. Emulsifiers of low (Tween 80) and high (protein and polysaccharide) molecular weight were tested. To the best of our knowledge, there are no reports on the bioavailability and metabolism of R. officinalis tea polyphenols in humans. This study was aimed at assessing the bioavailability and nutrikinetics of R. officinalis phenolic compounds in healthy humans for the first time. Forty-eight compounds were identified in plasma and urine. Few un-metabolized compounds were detected since rosemary polyphenols were extensively metabolized into phase II conjugates, with rapid appearance and clearance in plasma, pointing to small intestinal absorption. Phase II derivatives of caffeic acid showed kinetics compatible with both intestinal and colonic hydrolysis of rosmarinic acid yielding free caffeic and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-lactic acids, which were absorbed and metabolized into phase II derivatives. These metabolites, along with reduced forms of caffeic acid and their phase II metabolites, and those of hydroxyphenylpropionic, hydroxylphenylacetic, benzoic and hippuric acids, highlight the importance of colonic absorption. Total urinary excretion of the phenols added up to 235 µmol, corresponding to 22.3% of the ingested amount (1055 µM). The yield, physico-chemical characterization and fatty acid profiles of both oils were assessed based on their acidity and peroxide indices, thermogravimetric behavior, infrared spectroscopic and gas chromatographic analyses. The extraction yields were 7.4% and 61.5% for the pulp and nut from T. catappa, respectively. The pulp and nut oils exhibited low levels of acidity, 3.3 and 1.9 mg KOH g-1, and peroxides, 3.8 and 1.7 mEq kg-1, respectively. These values are lower than the maximum recommended levels given by the Codex Alimentarius for virgin oils (4.0 mg KOH g-1 and 15 mEq Kg-1, respectively). Here, we present an integrated analysis of mRNA and miRNA sequencing data for suspension cell lines, through comparison with adherent cells. Among the differentially regulated miRNA-mRNAs axes, we focus on the miR-146a-Neuropilin2 (NRP2) axis, which is known to influence tumor aggressiveness. We show that miR-146a directly regulates NRP2 expression and inhibits Semaphorin3C (SEMA3C) signaling. Functional studies reveal that miR-146a represses SEMA3C-induced invasion and proliferation by targeting NRP2. Finally, high-NRP2 is shown to be associated with poor outcomes in breast cancer patients. CT-scans of 102 patients who underwent jaw reconstructive surgery by using FFF from January 2005 to December 2019 were evaluated concerning the presence of HO. Subsequently, the patient files were evaluated to identify the cases with clinical signs and complications related to the presence of HO. A radiological classification of four different HO types was developed. Out of 102 patients, 29 (28.43%) presented radiological findings of HO. Clinical symptoms were recorded in 10 cases (9.8%) (dysphagia (n = 5), trismus (n = 3), bony masses (n = 2)) and from these only five (4.9%) needed surgical removal of calcified structures. HO occurs significantly in younger patients (mean 52.3 year). In maxillary reconstructions, HO was radiologically visible six months earlier than after mandibular reconstruction. Furthermore, HO is observed after every third maxilla and every fourth mandible reconstruction. This study developed for the first time a classification of four distinct HO patterns. HO types 1 and 2 were mostly observed after mandible reconstruction and type 4 predominantly after maxilla reconstruction.Palygorskite is a natural fibrous clay mineral that can be used in several applications, for which colloidal stability in aqueous suspensions is a key point to improve its performance. The stability and particle size of suspensions with a low concentration of palygorskite were evaluated by visual inspection, optical and electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and zeta potential measurements. Moreover, the palygorskite used in this work was initially characterized for its mineralogical, chemical, physical, and morphological properties. It was found that more stable suspensions were produced with ultrasonication compared to the other two physical treatments, with magnetic stirring being inefficient in all tested cases, and for higher pH values (pH of 12 and pH of 8, the natural pH of the clay) when compared to lower pH values (pH of 3). Remarkably, combined with ultrasonication, carboxymethylcellulose or in a lesser extent polyphosphate at near neutral pH allowed for the disaggregation of crystal bundles of palygorskite into individualized crystals. The rheological study of the SMGs revealed information about their mechanical strength and transition temperature. From the experimental storage modulus measured by rheological study, crosslinking density and mesh size of the network were also calculated. Both the techniques suggest that SMG with high crystalline content of SA monomer in the gel network contain smaller mesh size (1.13 nm for SMILS and 9.5 nm for rheology study) and high crosslinking density. The comparative study between the light scattering technique and rheological analysis through the quantitative analysis of crosslinking densities will be important to understand the structural properties of the SMGs.

In pediatric asthma, family empowerment education has been beneficial for the quality of life, pulmonary function, and family functioning. Few studies addressed the impact of a family empowerment program on asthma symptom control, acute healthcare use (AHCU), and medication use in children with asthma. This study aimed to assess the effect of a family empowerment intervention on asthma symptom control, AHCU, inhaler technique, and controller adherence in children with asthma.
A single-center study using a randomized controlled design was conducted in a university hospital in the center of Tunisia from May 2018 to September 2019. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/cc-90001.html Eighty-two families were randomly assigned to the intervention group (n = 41) of 8 weeks of group training sessions, or to the control group (n = 41) of usual care education. Thirty-seven families in the intervention group and 39 families in the control group received allocated intervention at baseline. Thirty-four families in each group completed the study at the 12-month follow-thma aged 7-17 years. This intervention could be clinically useful and time-saving for pediatric nurses.
Psychotherapies for eating disorders (EDs) are routinely assessed using standardised patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). PROMs have been criticised for their lack of patient centeredness and clinical utility. The Psychological Outcome Profiles (PSYCHLOPS) is an individualised PROM that allows patients to specify their own outcomes.
(1) To validate the use of the PSYCHLOPS in ED treatment, and (2) to identify patient concerns beyond those measured by common ED PROMs.
Two hundred and seventy-eight emerging adult patients, presenting with a first-episode ED (aged 16-25, illness duration <3 years) completed the PSYCHLOPS and two standardised ED PROMs (the EatingDisorder Examination Questionnaire [EDE-Q] and the Clinical Impairment Assessment Questionnaire [CIA]) at four time points across 12 months. Psychometrics of the PSYCHLOPS were assessed quantitatively against the EDE-Q and CIA. Content analysis assessed unique patient concerns identified by PSYCHLOPS.
The PSYCHLOPS had adequate to good psychometric properties. A total of 53.3% of participants reported a concern not addressed by the EDE-Q or the CIA, the most common being depression/anxiety, academic problems, treatment concerns and disturbed sleep.
PROMs can be complemented by the PSYCHLOPS to identify problems specific to an individual's context. As ED patients are typically ambivalent about change, understanding their concerns is vital in building motivation for change.

To describe a modified technique of scleral fixation for intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and report the clinical outcomes of combined pars plana vitrectomy and scleral IOL fixation using the suspension bridge method.
This retrospective case series included 57 eyes (56 patients) of aphakia or phakic and pseudophakic eyes with insufficient capsular support that underwent IOL implantation or dislocated IOL repositioning with scleral fixation using the 'suspension bridge' method by a single surgeon between 1 July 2010 and 1 March 2019. Preoperative status, changes in visual acuity, refractive outcomes as spherical equivalent and related complications were assessed with a minimum follow-up of 3months.
The mean follow-up period was 25.5±25.4months. Preoperative visual acuity (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution) was 1.32±0.68 (20/400 Snellen), and it significantly improved to 0.80±0.53 (20/125), 0.59±0.56 (20/80) and 0.24±0.37 (20/35) at 1week, 1month and 3months, respectively (p<0.001). Postoperative complications included corneal wound dehiscence (n=1), vitreous incarceration (n=1), optic-iris capture (n=6) and cystoid macular oedema (n=1). The above-mentioned complications were successfully corrected with simple procedures. However, one case of IOL dislocation required reoperation.
The modified technique of the suspension bridge method precludes the need for a scleral flap, with the advantage of easy adjustment of the IOL position. It is a simple and feasible technique with good surgical results and low complication rates.

Two brothers of Acadian descent presented with a history of Hirschsprung disease, in association with other anomalies including congenital heart disease, learning difficulties, developmental issues, and hypopigmented hair patch. Molecular analysis in both siblings revealed a heterozygous pathogenic mutation in the NGR1 gene (c.235C>T [p.Arg79*]), that was inherited from an unaffected father. We developed a 19-question survey to determine transplant surgeons' knowledge, practice, and attitudes regarding guidelines for kidney transplantation in women with breast cancer. Of the 129 respondents from 32 states and 14 countries, 74.8% felt that current guidelines are inadequate. Surgeons outside the United States (US) were more likely to consider transplantation in a breast cancer patient without a waiting period (p = .017). Within the US, 29.2% of surgeons in the Western region would consider transplantation without a waiting period, versus 3.6% of surgeons in the East (p = .004).

To describe a modified technique of scleral fixation for intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and report the clinical outcomes of combined pars plana vitrectomy and scleral IOL fixation using the suspension bridge method. This retrospective case series included 57 eyes (56 patients) of aphakia or phakic and pseudophakic eyes with insufficient capsular support that underwent IOL implantation or dislocated IOL repositioning with scleral fixation using the 'suspension bridge' method by a single surgeon between 1 July 2010 and 1 March 2019. Preoperative status, changes in visual acuity, refractive outcomes as spherical equivalent and related complications were assessed with a minimum follow-up of 3months. The mean follow-up period was 25.5±25.4months. Preoperative visual acuity (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution) was 1.32±0.68 (20/400 Snellen), and it significantly improved to 0.80±0.53 (20/125), 0.59±0.56 (20/80) and 0.24±0.37 (20/35) at 1week, 1month and 3months, respectively (p<0.001). Postoperative complications included corneal wound dehiscence (n=1), vitreous incarceration (n=1), optic-iris capture (n=6) and cystoid macular oedema (n=1). Optimizing surgical trays to improve operating room efficiency and reduce costs in instrument processing is an under-appreciated strategy for cost containment. This study aimed to assess the economic impact of instrument tray optimization in total joint arthroplasty.
Thirty-five randomly selected elective primary total knee arthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty performed by 4 fellowship-trained surgeons were analyzed. Type and number of instruments used as well as timing of different steps in the sterilization process were recorded by an independent observer. Using Lean methodology, surgeons identified redundant or underutilized instruments and agreed upon the fewest number needed for each tray. Instrument utilization rates and processing time were analyzed before and after tray modifications. Annual cost savings were calculated based on a processing factor of $0.59-$11.52 per instrument.
Only 45.5% of instruments opened for total knee arthroplasty were utilized. After optimization, 28 of 87 (32.2%) instruments were removed and the remainder could be stored in one tray. Mean set-up time decreased from 20.7 to 14.2minutes, while 40-75minutes were saved during the sterilization process. For total hip arthroplasty, only 36.0% of instruments were utilized. Using Lean methods, 46 of 112 (41.1%) instruments were removed and tray count was reduced to 2 trays. Mean set-up time decreased from 27.9 to 18.6minutes, while 45-150minutes were saved during processing. Average annual savings amounted to $281,298.05.

Surgeons utilize a combination of preoperative tests and intraoperative findings to diagnose periprosthetic joint infection (PJI); however, there is currently no reliable diagnostic marker that can be used in isolation. The purpose of our study is to evaluate the utility of frozen section histology in diagnosis of PJI.
Retrospective analysis of 614 patients undergoing revision total joint arthroplasty with frozen section histology from a single institution was performed. Discriminatory value of frozen section histology was assessed using univariate analysis and evaluation of area under the curve (AUC) of a receiver operating characteristic curve comparing frozen section histology results to the 2018 International Consensus Meeting (ICM) PJI criteria modified to exclude the histology component.
The sensitivity of the frozen section histology was 53.6% and the specificity was 95.2%. There was 99.2% concordance between the permanent section and frozen section results. The receiver operating characteristic curve for frozen section yielded an AUC of 0.744 (95% confidence interval 0.627-0.860) and the modified ICM score yielded an AUC of 0.912 (95% confidence interval 0.836-0.988) when compared to the full score. The addition of frozen section histology changed the decision to infected in 20% of "inconclusive" cases but less than 1% of total cases.
In comparison to the modified ICM criteria, intraoperative frozen section histology has poor sensitivity, strong specificity, and acceptable overall discrimination for diagnosing PJI. Diagnostic testing remains the backbone of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) response, supporting containment efforts to mitigate the outbreak. The severity of this crisis and increasing capacity issues associated with polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based testing, accelerated the development of diagnostic solutions to meet demands for mass testing. The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Innovation Observatory is the national horizon scanning organization in England. Since March, the Innovation Observatory has applied advanced horizon scanning methodologies and tools to compile a diagnostic landscape, based upon data captured for molecular (MDx) and immunological (IDx) based diagnostics (commercialized/in development), for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2. In total we identified and tracked 1608 diagnostics, produced by 1045 developers across 54 countries. Our dataset shows the speed and scale in which diagnostics were produced and provides insights into key periods of development and shifts in trends between MDx and IDx solutions as the pandemic progressed. Stakeholders worldwide required timely and detailed intelligence to respond to major challenges, including testing capacity and regulatory issues. Our intelligence assisted UK stakeholders with assessing priorities and mitigation options throughout the pandemic. A significant association between PM10 exposure and the methylation of clock genes was found, namely, this was negative for PER2 gene and positive for the CLOCK, CRY1, CRY2, and PER3 genes. PM2.5 was negatively associated with methylation of PER2 gene and positively with methylation of CRY2 gene. Evidence was observed for effect modification from body mass index (BMI) regarding the PER1 gene as PM2.5/10 increases, DNA methylation increases significantly for relatively low BMI values (BMI = 25), while it decreases in participants with severe obesity (BMI = 51). In this research, we look at the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based ML and DL methods for COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, in the battle against COVID-19, we summarize the AI-based ML and DL methods and the available datasets, tools, and performance. This survey offers a detailed overview of the existing state-of-the-art methodologies for ML and DL researchers and the wider health community with descriptions of how ML and DL and data can improve the status of COVID-19, and more studies in order to avoid the outbreak of COVID-19.

Furthermore, in the battle against COVID-19, we summarize the AI-based ML and DL methods and the available datasets, tools, and performance.
