Combining electro-oxidation (EO) with biodegradation for real oil sands process water (OSPW) treatment was evaluated in terms of naphthenic acid (NA) biodegradation enhancement. Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) qualitative analysis showed that EO by graphite was able to degrade the different NA clusters in OSPW including classical, oxidized and heteroatomic NAs. Applying EO even at current density as low as 0.2 mA/cm2 was still able to reduce classical NAs and acid extractable fraction (AEF) by 19% and 7%, respectively. EO pretreatment preferentially broke long carbon chains and highly cyclic carboxylic fractions of NAs in OSPW to improve the biodegradation of NAs. Aerobic biodegradation for 40 days reduced NAs by up to 30.9% when the samples were pre-treated with EO. Applying EO at current densities below 2 mA/cm2 maintained current efficiency as high as 48% and resulted in improvement in the biodegradation rate of remaining NAs by up to 2.7 folds. It was further revealed that applying EO before biodegradation could reduce the biodegradation half-life of classical NAs by up to 4.4 folds. 16S amplicon sequencing analysis showed that the samples subjected to biodegradation had increased abundances of Sphingomonadales and Rhodocyclales with increasing applied current density for EO pre-treatments.The presence of hazardous dimethomorph residues in the environment poses a threat to birds, aquatic organisms and mammals. The novel pure strain Bacillus cereus WL08 responsible for detoxifying dimethomorph was isolated from dimethomorph-polluted soils. The immobilized system of WL08 was developed using bamboo charcoal (**) and sodium alginate (SA). Immobilization significantly improved tolerance and stability of strain WL08. In this study, we synthesized silicon sulfuretted nanoscale zero-valent iron (FeSSi), which was coated with sodium alginate (SA) to form the gel beads (SA-FeSSi). The specific surface area of FeSSi (101.61 m2/g) was significantly increased by adding SiO2 seeding. The SA stabilization reduced the aggregation of FeSSi. The removal efficiency for cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), nickle (Ni) and chromium (Cr) by SA-FeSSi in solution reached 80.10 %, 99.96 %, 66.80 % and 80.46 %, respectively. The removal kinetics was well fitted with the pseudo-second-order model. Leaching experiments showed that the recovery efficiency of HMs from solution (Rr/w) and soil (Rr/s) reached to the ranges of 59.79 %-98.70 % and 25.94 %-62.67 % with the addition of 0.3 g SA-FeSSi. Moreover, the leaching conditions including pH, temperature, adsorbent dosage, leaching agent concentrations, leaching time and leaching cycles were also investigated. Our results suggested that SA-FeSSi had an excellent HMs removal capacity and the recovery of HMs during the leaching process by SA-FeSSi could be a potential pathway to reuse the metal resources from soil.Purpose Patients increasingly use the internet to access health-related information to further understand their treatments and conditions. All 20 sites were independently graded by 2 retinal physicians and differences were adjudicated by a third experienced retinal physician. The objectives of this implementation study were to integrate e-Leprosy into a leprosy control program at 27 PHCs in Pekalongan District. Central Java Province, Indonesia to explore factors related the success or failure of such an implementation regarding the usability, involvement, and acceptance of e-Leprosy by PHC staff and to evaluate the effect of the implementation on leprosy patient attendance at PHCs. This paper is based on the Standards for Reporting Implementation Studies (StaRI) statement. Method This study used mixed methods implementation research with longitudinal analysis and involved two groups of participants Leprosy Surveillance Officers (LSOs), patients, and the relatives of patients. This study involved four phases consisting of preparation, baseline assessment, intervention, and evaluation.

These manufacturing capabilities are unavailable in conventional microfluidic rapid prototyping techniques. The low absorption of small hydrophobic molecules and microfluidic labeling of cultured mammalian cells in 3D-printed PEG-DA-258 microdevices is demonstrated, indicating the potential of PEG-DA-based fabrication of cell-based assays, drug discovery, and organ-on-chip platforms.Background and study aims Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in patients with surgically altered anatomy is one of the most challenging endoscopic procedures. Although single- or double-balloon endoscopes have been widely used, reaching the papilla of Vater (hepaticojejunostomy/pancreaticojejunostomy site) is often difficult. For patients in whom treatment cannot be completed in a single session, we placed endoscopic nasobiliary drainage (ENBD) at the end of the procedure; in the second session, the scope was inserted following ENBD placement. Patients and methods Three patients with surgically altered anatomy and who underwent ENBD-guided ERCP were retrospectively examined using the medical records. Results There were two men and one woman, with an average age of 75 years. The surgical procedure were distal gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y reconstruction in all patients. The diagnosis were choledocholithiasis in two and bile duct stricture in one. Average time to reach the papilla was 50 minutes (range, 21-102) for the first ERCP and was shortened to 11 minutes (range, 5-17) for the second session under an indwelling ENBD. Treatment was successful in all patients without complications. Conclusion ENBD-guided ERCP in patients with surgically altered anatomy was a useful method that facilitated scope insertion and shortened the procedure time.Background and study aims Digital, per-oral cholangioscopy (POCS) allows diagnosis of biliary ducts disorders and treatment for complicated stones. We aimed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of digital POCS systems for stricture lesions and the factors precluding complete biliary stone clearance. Patients and methods We performed a retrospective analysis of a prospective database of 265 consecutive patients referred for POCS between December 2016 and July 2018. We first analyzed the diagnostic accuracy of digital POCS for malignant and benign stricture lesions in 147 patients. Then, we analyzed the factors associated with complete or partial biliary stone clearance achieved with electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL) delivered via POCS in 118 patients. Results In the diagnostic group, digital POCS achieved 91 % visual-impression sensitivity, 99 % specificity, 99 % positive and 91 % negative predictive values, and 63.64 positive and 0.09 negative likelihood ratios for malignancy diagnosis. In the therapeutic group, complete biliary stone clearance was achieved by EHL in 94.9 % patients; the mean stone size was 20 mm (10-40 mm). In multivariable analyses, a stone size > 20 mm (OR 1.020, P 20 mm) and the number of stones (≥ 3) are associated with partial biliary stone clearance.Background and study aims Patient safety during a colonoscopy highly depends on endoscopist competence. Endoscopic societies have been calling for an objective and regular assessment of the endoscopists, but existing assessment tools are time-consuming and prone to bias. We aimed to develop and gather evidence of validity for a computerized assessment tool delivering automatic and unbiased assessment of colonoscopy based on 3 dimensional coordinates from the colonoscope. A composite score was developed based on the five measurements to create a combined score of progression, the 3D-Colonoscopy-Progression-Score (3D-CoPS). The 3D-CoPS revealed a significant difference between groups (experienced 0.495 (SD 0.303) and novices -0.454 (SD 0.707), P less then 0.001). Conclusion This study presents a novel, real-time computerized assessment tool for colonoscopy, and strong evidence of validity was gathered in a simulation-based setting. Results We matched 334 patients in the high ADR group with 334 in the low ADR group. The ADR was 44.0 % and 26.9 % for the high-ADR and low-ADR endoscopists, respectively. Proximal, nonprotruding, and diminutive adenomas were more frequently detected by high-ADR endoscopists than by low-ADR endoscopists (all P less then 0.001); similarly, more high-risk adenomas were detected by high-ADR endoscopists ( P = 0.028). Furthermore, more sessile serrated polyps detected by high-ADR endoscopists ( P = 0.041). High-ADR endoscopists more frequently performed pancolonic chromoendoscopy ( P less then 0.001). Conclusions Expert detectors often found nonprotruding and diminutive adenomas in the proximal colon along with increased detection rate of high-risk adenomas. Low-ADR endoscopists need to recognize the features of missed adenomas to improve their ADRs.

05). Barium swallow was available in 37 patients (84.1%) at 1year after surgery. Radiologic recurrence was observed in two patients (4.5%). No patient had symptoms attributable to recurrence or required revisional surgery. There were no mesh-related complications at 3years follow-up.

The study of GPCR in mediating fungus-insect interactions is still limited. Here we report the evolution of GPCR genes encoded in the entomopathogenic Metarhizium species and found the expansion of Pth11-like GPCRs in the generalist species with a wide host range. By deletion of ten candidate genes MrGpr1-MrGpr10 selected from the six obtained subfamilies in the generalist M. robertsii, we found that each of them played a varied level of roles in mediating appressorium formation. In particular, deletion of MrGpr8 resulted in the failure of appressorium formation on different substrates and the loss of virulence during topical infection of insects but not during injection assays when compared with the wild-type (WT) strain. Further analysis revealed that disruption of MrGpr8 substantially impaired the nucleus translocation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) Mero-Fus3 but not the MAPK Mero-Slt2 during appressorium formation. We also found that the defect of AMrGpr8 could not be rescued with the addition of cyclic AMP for appressorium formation. The study of GPCR in mediating fungus-insect interactions is still limited. Here we report the evolution of GPCR genes encoded in the entomopathogenic Metarhizium species and found the expansion of Pth11-like GPCRs in the generalist species with a wide host range. By deletion of ten candidate genes MrGpr1-MrGpr10 selected from the six obtained subfamilies in the generalist M. robertsii, we found that each of them played a varied level of roles in mediating appressorium formation. In particular, deletion of MrGpr8 resulted in the failure of appressorium formation on different substrates and the loss of virulence during topical infection of insects but not during injection assays when compared with the wild-type (WT) strain. The application of artificial neural network (ANN) for modeling, combined steam-carbon dioxide reforming of methane over nickel-based catalysts, was investigated. The artificial neural network model consisted of a 3-layer feed forward network, with hyperbolic tangent function. The number of hidden neurons is optimized by minimization of mean square error and maximization of R² (R square, coefficient of determination) and set of 8 neurons. With feed ratio, flow rate, and temperature as independent variables, methane, carbon dioxide conversion, and H₂/CO ratio, were measured using artificial neural network. Coefficient of determination (R²) values of 0.9997, 0.9962, and 0.9985 obtained, and MAE (Mean Absolute Error), MSE (Mean Squared Error), RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error), and MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) showed low value. This study indicates ANN can successfully model a highly nonlinear process and function.A microbial fuel cell (MFC) is bioelectrochemical system that enables the biochemical activities of bacteria to generate electricity. Background Integrated device diagnostics, Triage-HF, is useful in risk stratifying patients with heart failure (HF), but its performance for Japanese patients remains unknown. This is a prospective study of Japanese patients treated with a cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRT-D), with a Medtronic OptiVol 2.0 feature.Methods and ResultsA total of 320 CRT-D patients were enrolled from 2013 to 2017. All received HF treatment in the prior 12 months. Following enrollment, they were followed every 6 months for 48 months (mean, 22 months). Triage-HF-stratified patients at low, medium and high risk statuses at every 30-day period, and HF-related hospitalization occurring for the subsequent 30 days, were evaluated and repeated. The primary endpoint was to assess Triage-HF performance in predicting HF-related hospitalization risk. All device data were available for 279 of 320 patients (NYHA class II or III in 93%; mean left ventricular ejection fraction, 31%). During a total of 5,977 patient-month follow-ups, 89 HF-related hospitalization occurred in 72 patients. The unadjusted event numbers for Low, Medium and High statuses were 19 (0.7%), 42 (1.6%) and 28 (4.1%), respectively. Relative risk of Medium to Low status was 2.18 (95% CI 1.23-3.85) and 5.78 (95% CI 3.34-10.01) for High to Low status. Common contributing factors among the diagnostics included low activity, OptiVol threshold crossing, and elevated night heart rate. Her neurological examination revealed peripheral neuropathy with lower limb sensory dominance. T2-weighted imaging revealed a disorder of the posterior cervical cord. Background Integrated device diagnostics, Triage-HF, is useful in risk stratifying patients with heart failure (HF), but its performance for Japanese patients remains unknown. This is a prospective study of Japanese patients treated with a cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRT-D), with a Medtronic OptiVol 2.0 feature.Methods and ResultsA total of 320 CRT-D patients were enrolled from 2013 to 2017. All received HF treatment in the prior 12 months. Following enrollment, they were followed every 6 months for 48 months (mean, 22 months). Triage-HF-stratified patients at low, medium and high risk statuses at every 30-day period, and HF-related hospitalization occurring for the subsequent 30 days, were evaluated and repeated. The primary endpoint was to assess Triage-HF performance in predicting HF-related hospitalization risk. All device data were available for 279 of 320 patients (NYHA class II or III in 93%; mean left ventricular ejection fraction, 31%). During a total of 5,977 patient-month follow-ups, 89 HF-related hospitalization occurred in 72 patients. The unadjusted event numbers for Low, Medium and High statuses were 19 (0.7%), 42 (1.6%) and 28 (4.1%), respectively. Relative risk of Medium to Low status was 2.18 (95% CI 1.23-3.85) and 5.78 (95% CI 3.34-10.01) for High to Low status. Common contributing factors among the diagnostics included low activity, OptiVol threshold crossing, and elevated night heart rate. Those two peaks were not produced by the 3DGM, but new peaks (2θ = 7.3 and 16.5°) were evident. DSC patterns revealed an endothermic peak due to the melting of FAD012 at 190 °C, but no endothermic peaks were evident with the 3DGM. NIR spectra of the 3DGM indicated that the methyl group of FAD012 produced a higher peak and that the OH groups of γCD produced a higher peak. 1H-1H ROESY NMR spectra (D2O) revealed cross peaks for protons of the methyl group of FAD012 and a proton (H-3) in the cavity of γCD, so FAD012 presumably interacts with the wide opening of the γCD torus. A solubility test (25 °C) indicated that solubility improved about 5-fold for the 3DGM in comparison to the solubility of FAD012 alone (about 140 μg/mL). Currently, an easy and effective form of diagnosis is missing, which significantly hinders a possible improvement of the patient's quality of life. In this context, biosensors emerge as a future solution, opening the doors for preventive medicine and allowing the premature diagnosis of numerous pathologies. This work presents a pioneering biosensor that combines a bottom-up design approach using paper as a platform for the electrochemical recognition of peptide amyloid β-42 (Aβ-42), a biomarker for AD present in blood, associated with visible differences in the brain tissue and responsible for the formation of senile plaques. The sensor layer relies on a molecularly imprinted polymer as a biorecognition element, created on the carbon ink electrode's surface by electropolymerizing a mixture of the target analyte (Aβ-42) and a monomer (O-phenylenediamine) at neutral pH 7.2. Next, the template molecule was removed from the polymeric network by enzymatic and acidic treatments. The vacant sites so obtained preserved the shape of the imprinted protein and were able to rebind the target analyte. Morphological and chemical analyses were performed in order to control the surface modification of the materials. The analytical performance of the biosensor was evaluated by an electroanalytical technique, namely, square wave voltammetry. For this purpose, the analytical response of the biosensor was tested with standard solutions ranging from 0.1 ng/mL to 1 μg/mL of Aβ-42. The linear response of the biosensor went down to 0.1 ng/mL. Overall, the developed biosensor offered numerous benefits, such as simplicity, low cost, reproducibility, fast response, and repeatability less than 10%. It is also found that the proximity of unfilled np or (n + 1)s orbitals induces instability of the ion in configurations ns2/nd2/4f2 and nd10/nd8(n + 1)s2, respectively. On the contrary, the stability of the orbitals np6 does not depend on the neighboring empty (n + 1)s0 orbitals. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated with respect to an ECG reference ("ground truth") in an experiment involving 21 healthy volunteers, who were sitting on a cushioned seat and were refrained from making excessive body movements. The results indicated that the presented approach is viable for the fast detection of individual heartbeats without heavy signal preprocessing.The objective of this work was to test vanadium isopolyoxoanions as potential corrosion inhibitors of the intermetallic phase Al2Cu in sulfuric acid solutions at pH = 1.3 and 2.5. The intermetallic was melted in an electric arc furnace. Its phase composition was confirmed using X-ray diffraction, light microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. Then Al2Cu corrosion kinetics was studied. Chemical composition of the solution after corrosion was determined using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy. The surface of corroded specimens was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Subsequent electrochemical studies involved determination of open-circuit potential, electrochemical impedance spectra, and polarization curves. It was found that the Al2Cu phase corrodes selectively and vanadium isopolyoxoanions increase this process both at pH = 1.3 and 2.5 with two exceptions. Corrosion inhibition was observed for 100 and 200 mM of Na3VO4 at pH 1.3, with inhibition efficiency 78% and 62% respectively, due to precipitation of V2O5.BACKGROUND Very little is known regarding the prevalence of opioid induced hyperalgesia (OIH) in day to day medical practice. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Adrucil(Fluorouracil).html The aim of this study was to evaluate the physician's perception of the prevalence of OIH within their practice, and to assess the level of physician's knowledge with respect to the identification and treatment of this problem. METHODS An electronic questionnaire was distributed to physicians who work in anesthesiology, chronic pain, and/or palliative care in Canada. RESULTS Of the 462 responses received, most were from male (69%) anesthesiologists (89.6%), in the age range of 36 to 64 years old (79.8%). In this study, the suspected prevalence of OIH using the average number of patients treated per year with opioids was 0.002% per patient per physician practice year for acute pain, and 0.01% per patient per physician practice year for chronic pain. Most physicians (70.2%) did not use clinical tests to help make a diagnosis of OIH. The treatment modalities most frequently used were the addition of an NMDA antagonist, combined with lowering the opioid doses and using opioid rotation. CONCLUSIONS The perceived prevalence of OIH in clinical practice is a relatively rare phenomenon. Furthermore, more than half of physicians did not use a clinical test to confirm the diagnosis of OIH. The two main treatment modalities used were NMDA antagonists and opioid rotation. The impact of AA at concentrations of 0-100 µg/mL on lactic acid bacteria (LAB) was examined. Bacterial growth was evaluated by the culture method, while the percentage of alive, injured, and dead bacteria was assessed by flow cytometry after 24 h and 48 h of incubation. We demonstrated that acrylamide could influence the viability of the LAB, but its impact depended on both the AA concentration and the bacterial species. The viability of probiotic strain Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-5 increased while that of Lactobacillus plantarum decreased; Lactobacillus brevis was less sensitive. Moreover, AA influenced the morphology of L. plantarum, probably by blocking cell separation during division. The results of photo-decomposition experiments show that the decomposition rate of Rhodamine B (RhB) by BV/MZF can reach 92.6% in 3 h under visible light. After three cycles, BV/MZF can still maintain structural stability and excellent pollutant degradation effect. In addition, analysis of the photocatalytic mechanism of BV/MZF for RhB shows that the p-n heterojunction formed in BV/MZF plays a vital role in its photocatalytic performance. The surface of corroded specimens was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. We demonstrated that acrylamide could influence the viability of the LAB, but its impact depended on both the AA concentration and the bacterial species. In this manuscript, we focused on developing a simple methodology to satisfy one particular need automated processing and analysis of CSLM image stacks to generate 3D fluorescence profiles showing the average distribution detected in bacterial colonies grown in different experimental conditions for comparison purposes. Using Mendelian randomization (MR), we assessed whether associations of 36 reported glioma risk factors showed evidence of a causal relationship. Methods We performed a systematic search of MEDLINE from inception to October 2018 to identify candidate risk factors and conducted a meta-analysis of two glioma genome-wide association studies (5739 cases and 5501 controls) to form our exposure and outcome datasets. MR analyses were performed using genetic variants to proxy for candidate risk factors. We investigated whether risk factors differed by subtype diagnosis (either glioblastoma (n = 3112) or non-glioblastoma (n = 2411)). MR estimates for each risk factor were determined using multiplicative random effects inverse-variance weighting (IVW). Sensitivity analyses investigated potential pleiotropy using MR-Egger regression, the weighted mediohol consumption, childhood extreme obesity, and LDLc and triglyceride levels, and glioma. In this study we analyzed DNA methylation (DNAm) in saliva at two time points across the pubertal transition within the same individuals. Our purpose was to compare two domains of DNAm patterns that may inform processes of sexual differentiation 1) sex related sites, which demonstrated differences between males from females and 2) time related sites in which DNAm shifted significantly between timepoints. We further explored the correlated network structure sex and time related DNAm networks and linked these patterns to pubertal stage, assays of salivary testosterone, a reliable diagnostic of free, unbound hormone that is available to act on target tissues, and overlap with androgen response elements. Results Sites that differed by biological sex were largely independent of sites that underwent change across puberty. Time-related DNAm sites, but not sex-related sites, formed correlated networks that were associated with pubertal stage. Both time and sex DNAm networks reflected salivary testosterone levels that were enriched for androgen response elements, with sex-related DNAm networks being informative of testosterone levels above and beyond biological sex later in the pubertal transition. Conclusions These results inform our understanding of the distinction between sex- and time-related differences in DNAm during the critical period of puberty and highlight a novel linkage between correlated patterns of sex-related DNAm and levels of salivary testosterone.

This retrospective study analyzed the level of concordance between clinical and autopsy diagnosis of coarctation of aorta over 10 years. Utilizing the Goldmann classification, the concordance rate was found to be 16%. Major discrepancies (Class I and II) were found in 56% cases and minor discrepancies (Class III and IV) in 28% cases.Aim In this study, we aimed to determine the clinical value and prognostic significance of the Neutrophil / Lymphocyte Ratio in patients undergoing curative surgery due to esophageal cancer. Material and method Patients who underwent curative resection for esophageal cancer between 2015-2019 were included in the study. Two groups, Group1 (low NLR) and Group2 (high NLR), were created. Demographic and clinical features, intraoperative and postoperative results, tumor characteristics and mean survival were compared in the groups. Results A total of 48 patients participated in our study. Group 1 consisted of 18 patients and Group 2 consisted of 30 patients. Male sex was dominant in both groups (66.7% vs 73.3%, p. 0.431). Preoperative CEA was higher in Group 2 (3.97 vs 9.57, p. 0.032). Tumor diameter was larger in Group2 (3.33 vs 5.40 cm, p. 0.000). Adenocarcinoma was higher in Group 2 (33% vs 53.3%, p. 0.047), while squamous cell carcinoma was higher in Group 1 (66.7% vs 33.3%, p. 0.047). Lymph node positivity was higher in Group 2 (66.7% vs 93.3%, p. 0.024). The anastomosis leak was higher in Group 2 (0% vs 20%, p. 0.048). Postoperative hospital stay was longer in Group 2 (13.27 vs 23.9 days, p. 0.009). 90-day readmission was higher in Group1 (33.3% vs 3.3%, p. 0.008). Survival duration was shorter in Group 2 (29 vs 15 months, p. 0.005). Conclusion This study revealed that preoperative high NLR was associated with poor survival, along with greater tumor diameter, increased lymph node metastasis rate, and increased anastomosis leakage in patients with esophageal cancer. These results suggest that modifying inflammatory responses and modulating the immune system may improve survival outcomes in patients with esophageal cancer. While debate on prophylactic resection of incidental Meckel's diverticulum continues, there have been reports of its successful use for urinary diversion and reconstruction. In contrast, its use as a means of fecal diversion has been described anecdotally. Herein, we describe our technique of temporary fecal diversion using Meckel's diverticulum as reliable conduit for stoma formation in a toddler. The stoma functioned well until continuity of bowel was restored and diverticulum resected safely. We trust that our limited experience will encourage other colleagues to test the inventive use of Meckel's diverticulum as a potentially safe and effective option to fit in the surgical armamentarium for temporary fecal diversion. At the time of admission, there were no imagistic signs of local or distant relapse. Case report A 72 years old woman was admitted to our emergency department because of acute cholecystitis. There were no pre-operative indications of sinistroposition of the gallbladder and its aberrant position was discovered during the explorative laparoscopy; because of the unusual anatomy and chronic flogosis, the laparoscopic approach was converted to open surgery. The patient underwent a successful intervention and was discharged after 4 days without complications. Her family history revealed a daughter with biliary atresia. Discussion LSG could remain undetected at preoperative imaging, but today, with advances in diagnostic imaging, the report of this condition has increased. Several hypothesis suggest the presence of an underlying embriologic mechanism for LSG and its associated anomalies, but its etiology is still unknown. The association with the daughter's biliary atresia makes reasonable a possible genetic correlation with this condition. Conclusions In case of LSG, laparoscopic cholecystectomy could be feasible and safe, but with an increased risk of injury to the major biliary structures, mostly in case of severe and chronic inflammation of the gallbladder. Conclusions In case of LSG, laparoscopic cholecystectomy could be feasible and safe, but with an increased risk of injury to the major biliary structures, mostly in case of severe and chronic inflammation of the gallbladder.
