However, this correlation may not exist for obese women (RR 1.22, 95% CI 0.99, 1.51); Overweight may not a risk factor for rectal cancer (RC) (RR 1.12, 95% CI 0.97, 1.29). In the dose-response analysis, we observed a linear relationship between BMI at a young age and CRC risk, with each 1 kg/m2 increment associated with a 2% increased risk. Electroanatomic voltage mapping (EVM) is a promising modality for guiding endomyocardial biopsies (EMBs). However, few data support its feasibility and safety. We now report the largest cohort of patients undergoing EVM-guided EMBs to show its diagnostic yield and to compare it with a cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)-guided approach.
We included 162 consecutive patients undergoing EMB at our institution from 2010 to 2019. EMB was performed in pathological areas identified at EVM and CMR. CMR and EVM sensitivity and specificity regarding the identification of pathological substrates of myocardium were evaluated according to EMB results.
Preoperative CMR showed late gadolinium enhancement in 70% of the patients, whereas EVM identified areas of low voltage in 61%. Right (73%), left (19%), or both ventricles (8%) underwent sampling. EVM proved to have sensitivity similar to CMR (74% versus 77%), with specificity being 70% and 47%, respectively. In 12 patients with EMB-proven cardiomyopathy, EVM identified pathological areas that had been undetected at CMR evaluation. Sensitivity of pooled EVM and CMR was as high as 95%. EMB analysis allowed us to reach a new diagnosis, different from the suspected clinical diagnosis, in 39% of patients. The complications rate was low, mostly related to vascular access, with no patients requiring urgent management.

This multicenter study aimed at investigating radiation protection practice and related radiation exposure of operating team members. Materials and Methods Six endourology centers from the South-Eastern European Group for Urolithiasis Research answered questionnaires and collected data of 315 procedures performed within a 3-months period, with simultaneous measurement of dose to staff and dose area product (DAP) to patient. A pair of calibrated personal dosimeters, one for body and one for eye-lens dose, was worn by all key staff members. Dosimeters were centrally calibrated, measured, and analyzed. Results The annual workload ranged from 173 to 865 procedures per center. Practice of personal dose monitoring and use of radiation protection shielding was found to be inconsistent. Lead aprons and thyroid collars were used by all, whereas protective eyewear was used in only half of centers. Due to the regular use of protective aprons, the whole-body dose of all 44 monitored staff members was safely below the regulatory dose limits.

The modern world is often described as highly secularized. This secularization can distort our view of the past, and also of societies in which secularization holds less sway than in other places. In this essay, I examine Confucianism and Dharmaśāstra as two paradigms for the study of pre-secular or non-secular societies, comparing and contrasting Confucian and Hindu societies while comparing and contrasting both with the current, "secular age".Is death larger than life and does it annihilate life altogether? This is the basic question discussed in this essay, within a philosophical/existential context. The central argument is that the concept of death is problematic and, following Levinas, the author holds that death cannot lead to nothingness. This accords with the teaching of all religious traditions, which hold that there is life beyond death, and Plato's and Aristotle's theories about the immortality of the soul. In modernity, since the Enlightenment, God and religion have been placed in the margin or rejected in rational discourse. Consequently, the anthropocentric promethean view of man has been stressed and the reality of the limits placed on humans by death deemphasised or ignored. Yet, death remains at the centre of nature and human life, and its reality and threat become evident in the spread of a single virus. So, death always remains a mystery, relating to life and morality.This article explores contagion alongside and in relation to its ever-attendant metaphors, examining Heinrich von Kleist's short story "The Foundling", and finding here a particularly revealing concatenation of ideas of human contact, trade and infection.This essay is an exercise in what might be called Metaphysical Sociology. It suggests that in the secular modern Western world immortality has become the great question mark. It explores possible responses, drawing on a range of fictional examples, including the novel and film Gone with the Wind and Nicolas Poussin's painting of The Last Supper. It draws a contrast between vitality and ego, on the one hand, and soul, on the other.Upwards of 70% of the Covid19 death toll in Sweden has been people in elderly care services (as of mid-May 2020). We summarize the Covid19 tragedy in elderly care in Sweden, particularly in the City of Stockholm. We explain the institutional structure of elderly care administration and service provision. Those who died of Covid19 in Stockholm's nursing homes had a life-remaining median somewhere in the range of 5 to 9 months. Having contextualized the Covid19 problem in City of Stockholm, we present an interview of Barbro Karlsson, who works at the administrative heart of the Stockholm elderly care system. Her institutional knowledge and sentiment offer great insight into the concrete problems and challenges. There are really two sides to the elderly care Covid19 challenge The vulnerability and frailty of those in nursing homes and the problem of nosocomial infection-that is, infection caused by contact with others involved in the elderly care experience. The problem calls for targeted solutions by those close to the vulnerable individuals.Social distance has been a topic of interest in sociology for more than a century before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whereas in the past it referred to the distance between groups in more recent times it signifies the space between individuals. Yet, self-destructive as it may be, it is also self-regenerating, changing its appearance and purpose. They are two modes that stand in contrast to each other. We can see them as opposites that delimit a conceptual dimension ordering varieties of present-day mass tourism. The first pole calls forth tourism as a force leaving ruin and destruction in its wake or at best a sense of nostalgia for what has been lost, the other sees tourism as a force endlessly resuscitating and re-inventing itself. This paper article highlights both sides of the story. These times of the Covid-19 pandemic, with large swathes of public life emptied by social lock-down, remind us of a second, cross-cutting conceptual dimension, ranging from public space brimming with human life to its post-apocalyptic opposite eerily empty and silent. The final part of my argument will touch on imagined evocations of precisely such dystopian landscapes.As in **** of the world, the Coronovirus pandemic has dominated South Korean politics in 2020. Compared to other countries, Seoul's approach has been highly nationalist and politicized, as the ruling party lauded its pandemic response as the global standard and linked it to a larger, leftist-nationalist agenda. This "pandemic-leftist" discourse peaked around the April 15 midterm elections, but subsided the following month, as domestic and foreign setbacks arose. To explain, firstly, a competitive-nationalist race to flatten the infection curve encouraged the government to infringe on the civil liberties of infected patients, and society to stigmatize them. Other countries contained Covid-19 without such rights violations and stigma. Secondly, critics distinguished between the government's relative success in pandemic response and its general failures in economic and foreign policies. Instead of asking other countries to learn from one's country, each country would do well to learn from the experiences of others and to continually improve its own policies.Family has resurfaced in many ways as its contemporary face has changed, often challenging the transmission of Jewry in traditional ways. Gender fluidity and equality had nearly camouflaged the contribution of gender to the transmission of Jewry for a majority of the American Jewish population, at least. But revelations of persisting and underlying gendered patterns beyond the family have alerted us to its particular dynamic, which itself has multiple implications for family as well as institutional life. In this address, we will discuss the changes that are occurring and their implications, as well as research implications, drawing on previous research and approaches that the Sklare awardee has taken and is taking.

As a promising technology to meet these stringent requirements, nonvolatile multistates memory (NMSM) has attracted lots of attention over the past years. Owing to the capability to store data in more than a single bit (0 or 1), the storage density is dramatically enhanced without scaling down the memory cell, making memory devices more efficient and less expensive. Multistates in a single cell also provide an unconventional in-memory computing platform beyond the Von Neumann architecture and enable neuromorphic computing with low power consumption. In this review, an in-depth perspective is presented on the recent progress and challenges on the device architectures, material innovation, working mechanisms of various types of NMSMs, including flash, magnetic random-access memory (MRAM), resistive random-access memory (RRAM), ferroelectric random-access memory (FeRAM), and phase-change memory (PCM). The intriguing properties and performance of these NMSMs, which are the key to realizing highly integrated memory hierarchy, are discussed and compared.Multicore iron oxide nanoparticles, also known as colloidal nanocrystal clusters, are magnetic materials with diverse applications in biomedicine and photonics. Here, we examine how both of their characteristic dimensional features, the primary particle and sub-micron colloid diameters, influence their magnetic properties and performance in two different applications. The characterization of these basic size-dependent properties is enabled by a synthetic strategy that provides independent control over both the primary nanocrystal and cluster dimensions. Over a wide range of conditions, electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction reveal that the oriented attachment of smaller nanocrystals results in their crystallographic alignment throughout the entire superstructure. We apply a sulfonated polymer with high charge density to prevent cluster aggregation and conjugate molecular dyes to particle surfaces so as to visualize their collection using handheld magnets. These libraries of colloidal clusters, indexed both by primary nanocrystal dimension (dp) and overall cluster diameter (Dc), form magnetic photonic crystals with relatively weak size-dependent properties. In contrast, their performance as MRI T2 contrast agents is highly sensitive to cluster diameter, not primary particle size, and is optimized for materials of 50 nm diameter (r2 = 364 mM-1 s-1). These results exemplify the relevance of dimensional control in developing applications for these versatile materials.Graphitic carbon nitride (CN) suffers from rapid recombination of photoexcited charges due to the existing highly symmetrical tri-s-triazine ring and long charge diffusion path, resulting in moderate photocatalytic activity. Owing to the capability to store data in more than a single bit (0 or 1), the storage density is dramatically enhanced without scaling down the memory cell, making memory devices more efficient and less expensive. Multistates in a single cell also provide an unconventional in-memory computing platform beyond the Von Neumann architecture and enable neuromorphic computing with low power consumption. In this review, an in-depth perspective is presented on the recent progress and challenges on the device architectures, material innovation, working mechanisms of various types of NMSMs, including flash, magnetic random-access memory (MRAM), resistive random-access memory (RRAM), ferroelectric random-access memory (FeRAM), and phase-change memory (PCM). The intriguing properties and performance of these NMSMs, which are the key to realizing highly integrated memory hierarchy, are discussed and compared.Multicore iron oxide nanoparticles, also known as colloidal nanocrystal clusters, are magnetic materials with diverse applications in biomedicine and photonics. Here, we examine how both of their characteristic dimensional features, the primary particle and sub-micron colloid diameters, influence their magnetic properties and performance in two different applications. The characterization of these basic size-dependent properties is enabled by a synthetic strategy that provides independent control over both the primary nanocrystal and cluster dimensions. Over a wide range of conditions, electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction reveal that the oriented attachment of smaller nanocrystals results in their crystallographic alignment throughout the entire superstructure. We apply a sulfonated polymer with high charge density to prevent cluster aggregation and conjugate molecular dyes to particle surfaces so as to visualize their collection using handheld magnets. These libraries of colloidal clusters, indexed both by primary nanocrystal dimension (dp) and overall cluster diameter (Dc), form magnetic photonic crystals with relatively weak size-dependent properties. In contrast, their performance as MRI T2 contrast agents is highly sensitive to cluster diameter, not primary particle size, and is optimized for materials of 50 nm diameter (r2 = 364 mM-1 s-1). Analysis of their 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that they belong to the genus Pseudomonas, with the highest similarities to Pseudomonas poae DSM 14936T (99.86 %), Pseudomonas simiae OLiT (99.85 %), Pseudomonas trivialis DSM 14937T (99.79 %) and Pseudomonas extremorientalis KMM 3447T (99.79 %). Their genomic DNA G+C content was 60.9 mol% and the major fatty acids (>5 % of the total fatty acids) present were C16 0, summed feature 3 (C16 1 ω7c/C16 1 ω6c), summed feature 8 (C18 1 ω7c /C18 1 ω6c) and C17 0 cyclo. High-throughput simulation techniques were employed to efficiently calculate loading-dependent diffusivities in 38 MOFs. The results show that topologies with higher node connectivity have reduced alkane diffusivities compared to topologies with lower node connectivity. The present study examined associations between polyvictimization and mental and physical health in an LGBTQ sample. Participants included 385 LGBTQ individuals involved in a larger health-needs assessment of LGBTQ individuals living in the southeastern United States. The sample primarily identified as gay/lesbian (63.4%), cisgender (78.7%), and White (66.5%), and the mean participant age was 34.82 years (SD = 13.45). A latent class analysis (LCA) was conducted on seven items assessing different types of violence exposure. The LCA identified a three-class model, with classes characterized by low trauma exposure (71.4%), nondiscriminatory violence (15.1%), and high trauma exposure (13.5%). Differences in demographic characteristics, perceptions of mental and physical health, and diagnoses of specific health conditions were assessed across classes. The high-trauma class reported poorer perceived physical and mental health compared to the other two classes, with mean differences in past-month poor health days ranging from 11.38 to 17.37. Patients are frequently admitted to hospital on suspicion of dehydration. The diagnosis is widely used for referral to admittance departments. We aimed to prospectively evaluate patients admitted with a diagnosis of dehydration in terms of the accuracy of this diagnosis, to evaluate clinical and biochemical data and to evaluate the outcome and provide a review of the concept of dehydration.
Patients who had dehydration as their primary referral diagnosis were prospectively included over a 70-day period. We defined dehydration based on osmolality > 295 mmol/kg. Biochemistry, imaging and outcome were examined.
A total of 128 patients were admitted on suspicion of dehydration, accounting for 7.5% of all patients admitted. In all, 82 of the 128 (64%) were dehydrated. The diagnoses at discharge included infections mainly, but also diagnoses such as cancers and stroke were registered. Mortality during hospitalisation was 9%. Mortality at six months was 27% for the entire group; 37% in the dehydration group versus 11% in the non-dehydration group (p = 0.002). Older age was the strongest predictor of death.
Suspicion of dehydration is a frequent admittance diagnosis. We suspect that a referral diagnosis of dehydration often reflects an unspecified concern rather than a real suspicion of dehydration. Patients with dehydration had a high in-hospital and six-month mortality, reflecting the severity of this diagnosis.

To assess the effectiveness of electroacupuncture (EA) with rehabilitation training in reducing limb spasticity in post-stroke patients.
A systematic review was performed by electronically searching six databases (Medline/Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, and Wanfang Data) for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on EA with rehabilitation training for limb spasticity reduction in post-stroke patients from 1 January 2009 to 1 January 2019. A meta-analysis was performed using SAS 9.3 and RevMan 5.3 software after bibliography screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment using the Cochrane handbook. The primary outcome was spasticity.

Grading prostate biopsies has an important role in determining treatment strategy. Histopathological evaluations suffer from interobserver variability and therefore biopsies may be re-evaluated.
To provide insight into the extent of, characteristics associated with and clinical implications of prostate biopsy re-evaluations in daily clinical practice.
Patients diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) by biopsy between October 2015 and April 2016 identified through the Netherlands Cancer Registry were included. The proportion of re-evaluations was assessed and characteristics were compared between patients with and without biopsy re-evaluation. Interobserver concordance of ISUP grade and EAU prognostic risk classification was determined by calculating Cohen's kappa.
Biopsy re-evaluation was performed in 172 (3.3%) of 5214 patients. Primary reason for re-evaluation in patients treated with curative intent was referral to another hospital. Most referred patients treated with curative intent (

A meta-analysis was performed using SAS 9.3 and RevMan 5.3 software after bibliography screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment using the Cochrane handbook. The primary outcome was spasticity. A total of 31 RCTs (including 2488 participants) were included. Except for Cai et al.'s study, the quality of other RCTs was not high. All studies performed a descriptive analysis, and 29 RCTs conducted a meta-analysis. The odds ratio (OR) for marked efficiency was 2.35 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.68-3.27, Z =5.03, <.00001). The OR for Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) classification was 2.42 (95% CI 1.89-3.10, Z =7.03; <.00001). Patients diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) by biopsy between October 2015 and April 2016 identified through the Netherlands Cancer Registry were included. The proportion of re-evaluations was assessed and characteristics were compared between patients with and without biopsy re-evaluation. Interobserver concordance of ISUP grade and EAU prognostic risk classification was determined by calculating Cohen's kappa. Biopsy re-evaluation was performed in 172 (3.3%) of 5214 patients. We present a case of severe gastroparesis in a recipient of orthotopic heart transplantation. Although a rare condition after heart transplantation, it is a potential cause of significant morbidity, including vomiting, aspiration and pneumonia. Moreover, impaired gastric emptying alters the pharmacokinetics of immunosuppressive medication with increased risk of severe side effects. Herein, we describe a diagnostic and therapeutic strategy that was successfully applied in a patient with gastroparesis.Simultaneous pulmonary and aortic endocarditis is extremely rare, and there is no consensus on its surgical management. Here, we report a case of infective endocarditis of pulmonary and aortic valves complicated by severe pulmonary regurgitation due to complete damage of valve cusps. We performed pulmonary valve reconstruction using autologous pericardium using Ozaki's technique, with excellent outcomes.
Fatalities in children left unattended in parked motor vehicles are being reported frequently in the last decade but little research has been done analysing the circumstances leading to such preventable deaths in India.

This study was a descriptive analysis conducted on the basis of an Internet search of published news in major Indian newspapers/channels using different combination of keywords. We extracted data from the published news using a pre-determined tool.
Between 2011 and 2020, there were 23 incidents that resulted in 40 fatalities across India mostly in summer months. Majority of children were 4-6 years of age (26/40). Ninety percent of children gained access to unattended vehicles for playing and getting locked accidentally (36/40) while remaining cases involved being forgotten (3/40) or intentionally left behind (1/40).

Potentially predictive baseline variables were tested in multivariate logistic regression analyses.
In the 171 patients included, baseline MRI osteitis independently predicted progression in MRI erosion [odds ratio (OR) 1.13 (95% CI 1.06, 1.22)], joint space narrowing [OR 1.15 (95% CI 1.07, 1.24)] and combined damage [OR 1.23 (95% CI 1.13, 1.37)], while tenosynovitis independently predicted MRI erosion progression [OR 1.13 (95% CI 1.03, 1.25)]. A predictor of radiographic erosion progression was age, while gender predicted progression in joint space narrowing. Following an MRI treat-to-target strategy predicted stringent remission across all remission definitions Clinical Disease Activity Index remission OR 2.94 (95% CI 1.25, 7.52), Simplified Disease Activity Index remission OR 2.50 (95% CI 1.01, 6.66), ACR/EULAR Boolean remission OR 5.47 (95% CI 2.33, 14.13). Identify 5-year mortality rates in trauma patients greater than 18 years old who undergo tracheostomy and/or gastrostomy tube placement.

In a 10-year retrospective analysis of sepsis-related hospitalizations in the emergency department, we carried out a secondary analysis of 915 patients with diabetes (males, 54.0%) in whom both fasting glucose at entry and glycosylated hemoglobin were available.

Patients' mean age was 79.0 (sd 11.0), glucose at admission was 174.0 mg/dL (74.3 mg/dL), and glycosylated hemoglobin was 7.7% (1.7%). Stress hyperglycemia was defined by the stress hyperglycemia ratio, that is, fasting glucose concentration at admission divided by the estimated average glucose derived from glycosylated hemoglobin. A total of 305 patients died (33.3%) in hospital. Factors associated in the presence of diabetes, is predictive of mortality following admission for sepsis. The aim of this study is to identify concerns regarding care quality in the setting of do-not-resuscitate orders within the Department of Defense and compare differences in perceptions between members of the critical care team. A cross sectional observational study was conducted. This study took place in the setting of critical care within the Department of Defense. Due to the discomfort and incidence of complications increases with the increasing number of biopsy cores, the protocol of prostate biopsy has been promoted from systematic biopsy (SB) to targeted biopsy (TB) in many studies. However, the optimal prostate sampling scheme to balance the incidence of biopsy complications and accuracy of biopsy remains controversial. Our objective is to explore an optimal prostate cancer (PCa) sampling scheme with fewer SB cores.
Patients with at least one lesion of Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System ≥3 were prospectively enrolled. TB and SB were performed for each patient as reference. The hypothetical biopsy sampling schemes were TB only, SB only, and TB followed by SB of the nontargeted sector (TB+nSB). The PCa and clinically significant PCa (csPCa) detection rates and cores of the three hypothetical biopsy schemes were compared with TB+SB.
Among 165 patients, 107 (64.8%) were diagnosed with PCa and 91 (55.2%) with csPCa via TB+SB. There were 54 (50.5%) and 42 (46.2%) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) true negative cases and 53 (49.5%) and 49 (53.8%) false negative cases of nontargeted sectors among PCa and csPCa patients, respectively. The maximal cancer proportion in positive biopsy cases differed significantly between the true and false groups of these cohorts. There was no difference between TB+nSB and TB+SB for PCa or csPCa detection.

Biomass production, the concentration and accumulation of C, N, P and Si as well as the relationship between them were assessed. Silicon application increased biomass production, the rate of photosynthesis, instantaneous carboxylation efficiency and C, N, P and Si accumulation, in addition to altering stoichiometric ratios (CN, CP, NP and CSi) in different parts of the plants. The decline in C concentration associated with greater N and P absorption indicates that Si favoured physiological processes, which is reflected in biomass production.

Little is known about the cardiotoxic effects of kratom (
Korth.), a medicinal plant. This analytical cross-sectional study investigated the prevalence of electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities and QTc intervals in regular kratom users compared with non-kratom-using control subjects.
We enrolled regular kratom users and non-kratom-using control subjects from three communities. Demographic data, clinical data, kratom use characteristics, and ECG findings were recorded. The mitragynine content of kratom juice was quantified using a validated gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method.
A total of 200 participants (100 kratom users and 100 control subjects) participated in this study. The prevalence of ECG abnormalities in kratom users (28%) did not differ from that of control subjects (32%). Kratom use was not associated with ECG abnormalities, except for significantly higher odds of sinus tachycardia (OR = 8.61, 95% CI = 1.06-70.17,
= 0.035) among kratom users compared with control subjects. This represents an opportunity for cultural institutions such as museums, as examination of visitor memories is one way in which they can seek to understand the long-term impact they may have on their visitors. This research applied a coding model developed from autobiographical memory theory to analysis of participants' memories for museum visits, considering the distribution of memories across the life span, types of memories and content. Differences between visitor groups (age, visit frequency) were also considered. Findings showed a strong recency effect in the life-span distribution, suggesting the importance of social sharing in memories of cultural experience. Analysis of content showed a hierarchy of information that was present in museum memories. Knowledge acquired during the event of the visit was important, as was contextualising information whereby visitors situated the memory within their autobiographical knowledge and chronology. Emotions and thoughts were also salient. Visitor differences had minimal impact on content, with the exception of some effects that were consistent with the literature on memory and ageing. This research develops understanding of autobiographical memories for cultural experiences and provides insight to museums, with practical implications in terms of understanding visitors' experiences.
Performing tracheotomy in patients with COVID-19 carries a risk of transmission to the surgical team due to potential viral particle aerosolization. Few studies have reported transmission rates to tracheotomy surgeons. We describe our safety practices and the transmission rate to our surgical team after performing tracheotomy on patients with COVID-19 during the peak of the pandemic at a US epicenter.

Tracheotomy procedures for patients with COVID-19 that were performed April 15 to May 28, 2020, were reviewed, with a focus on the surgical providers involved. Methods of provider protection were recorded. Provider health status was the main outcome measure.
Thirty-six open tracheotomies were performed, amounting to 65 surgical provider exposures, and 30 (83.3%) procedures were performed at bedside. The mean time to tracheotomy from hospital admission for SARS-CoV-2 symptoms was 31 days, and the mean time to intubation was 24 days. Standard personal protective equipment, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was worn for each case. Powered air-purifying respirators were not used. None of the surgical providers involved in tracheotomy for patients with COVID-19 demonstrated positive antibody seroconversion or developed SARS-CoV-2-related symptoms to date.
Tracheotomy for patients with COVID-19 can be done with minimal risk to the surgical providers when standard personal protective equipment is used (surgical gown, gloves, eye protection, hair cap, and N95 mask). Whether timing of tracheotomy following onset of symptoms affects the risk of transmission needs further study.

Symptoms on leaves and fruits included dark brown to black irregular spots, ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 cm, with gray centers. Visible pycnidia were present in the center of the lesions. Leaves became chlorotic and prematurely dropped from the trees. In a disease survey performed on 24 pomegranate cultivars, all of the trees were infected and the disease severity ranged from 2 to 80%. The cultivars Bhagwa and Mridula were the most susceptible. Symptoms on the fruit were similar to those on the leaves; however incidence on the fruits was less than one percent. To isolate the pathogen, small pieces (5 mm2) of symptomatic leaves and fruits were excised from the area between diseased and healthy tissue. Excised tissue pieces were surface disinfested in 70% ethanol solution for 30 seconds, followed by 10% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) solution for 2 minutes, rinsed in sterilized distilled water three times, dried on a paper towel, placed onto potato dextrose agar and incubated at 25°C under 12-hour photoperiod for seven days.

The mean time to tracheotomy from hospital admission for SARS-CoV-2 symptoms was 31 days, and the mean time to intubation was 24 days. Standard personal protective equipment, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was worn for each case. Powered air-purifying respirators were not used. None of the surgical providers involved in tracheotomy for patients with COVID-19 demonstrated positive antibody seroconversion or developed SARS-CoV-2-related symptoms to date. Symptoms on leaves and fruits included dark brown to black irregular spots, ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 cm, with gray centers. Visible pycnidia were present in the center of the lesions. Leaves became chlorotic and prematurely dropped from the trees. Participants consuming kiwifruit showed significantly improved mood and well-being during the intervention period; improvements in well-being were sustained during washout. The steering wheel angle and longitudinal acceleration are used as the action space, and both the state and action spaces are continuous. In terms of the reward function, avoiding collision and setting different expected lane-changing distances that represent different driving styles are considered for security, and the angular velocity of the steering wheel and jerk are considered for comfort.

Participants of Arab descent were 11 829 (38%) and 11 569 (37%) were South Asian. Mean body mass index was 26.8 ± 5.29 kg/m2. Of those screened, 7 917 (25%) had never had a BP recorded, while 16 892 (54%) had recorded BP in the previous year. After imputation, 6 243 (20%) had hypertension. Of those participants, only 2 540 (41%) were aware and 2 331 (37%) were on antihypertensive medication, of which 61% were controlled. We recruited adults aged 20 years and older at about 800 community pharmacies across Taiwan. After a 10-min seated rest, volunteers-consisting of community pharmacists-took three BP readings using automated BP devices. The means of the 2nd and 3rd BP readings were used as the screening BP estimates. Hypertension was defined as current use of antihypertensive medications, or the screening BP of ≥140/90 mmHg. Of the 15 365 enrolled participants with a mean age of 56.8 ± 16.4 years, 53.3% were women. After imputation, we found 48.1% of the individuals had hypertension. Among participants with hypertension, 83.7% were aware, 55.0% had controlled BP, and 81.3% were medically treated, of whom 67.7% had controlled BP ( less then 140/90 mmHg). In contrast to the global results, our results showed that the participants with diabetes mellitus, prior myocardial infarction, or stroke had higher BP than those without these comorbidities. The annual campaign experience enables us to establish a feasible approach to raising awareness and to assessing the management of hypertension in the general population. The current study indicated a high prevalence of HTN (28.2%) among 40 779 participants and a low level of awareness (20.7%) amongst these participants. Of all, 18.2% of hypertensive participants were on medication and of these, 54.6% were controlled. Of all hypertensives, only 9.9% were controlled. Screening sites mainly in community pharmacies, universities, primary care centres, HTN units, and cardiovascular departments in hospitals were set up across Spain as part of this initiative. In total, 7646 individuals (63.5% female) were screened during MMM18. After multiple imputation, 40.0% had HTN, of whom 74.4% were aware of their diagnosis and 69.6% were taking antihypertensive medication. Of individuals not receiving antihypertensive medication, 16.9% were hypertensive. Of individuals receiving antihypertensive medication, 36.4% had uncontrolled BP. MMM18 almost doubled the number of participants of MMM17 and was the largest BP screening campaign ever undertaken in Spain, showing that in the absence of systematic screening programmes for HTN, MMM can identify a great number of individuals at risk, increasing their awareness and attracting the interest of the healthcare system in Spain.
