  • Termites are ubiquitous insects in tropical and subtropical habitats, and some of them construct massive nests ('mounds'), which substantially promote substrate heterogeneity by altering soil properties. Yet, the role of termite nesting process in regulating the distribution and diversity of soil microbial communities remains poorly understood, which introduces uncertainty in predictions of ecosystem functions of termite mounds in a changing environment. In adolescents, only working memory could be separable from common EF, whereas in adults, the three EF subcomponents could be separable from common EF. However, findings of switching in adolescents should be treated with substantial caution and may be exploratory due to limited data available on switching tasks. For task materials, inhibition and working memory showed both domain generality and domain specificity, undergirded by the multiple-demand network, as well as different brain regions in response to verbal and nonverbal task materials, respectively. In contrast, switching showed only domain generality with no activation specialized for either verbal or nonverbal task materials. These findings, taken together, support and contribute to the unitary-diverse nature of EF such that EF should be interpreted in an integrative model that relies on the integration of the EF construct, development, and task materials.Heme-like metal-chelating macrocycles, including expanded and contracted porphyrins, are of everlasting interest as drug candidates for numerous diseases. To investigate this, we used EEG to examine reinforcement-dependent changes in early visual event-related potentials in adolescents (N = 28, 13-14 years) and adults (N = 23, 25-26 years old) during a differential Pavlovian fear conditioning task, with one conditioned stimulus (CS+) paired with an aversive sound (unconditioned stimulus [US]) on 50% of trials, and another (CS-) never paired with the US. An immediate extinction phase followed, where both CSs were presented alone. We found age-dependent dissociations between explicit and implicit measures of fear learning. Specifically, both adolescents and adults demonstrated successful fear conditioning and extinction according to their explicit awareness of changes in CS contingencies and their evaluative CS ratings, and their differential skin conductance responses.

  • The Youth Opioid Recovery Support (YORS) intervention is a promising approach for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) in young adults that seeks to improve adherence to extended-release medications for OUD (XR-MOUD) and reduce opioid relapse through assertive outreach techniques. YORS was previously tested with individuals seeking extended-release naltrexone (XR-NTX), but has not been tested on individuals pursuing extended-release buprenorphine (XR-BUP).

    This pilot study tested the YORS intervention among a group choosing either XR-MOUD compared to historical treatment as usual (H-TAU) and intervention conditions from a previous study. This study also tested feasibility of a stepped care approach using a protocol for transition to standard care. Twenty-two young adults (ages 18-26) with OUD intending to pursue outpatient treatment with XR-NTX (n=11) or XR-BUP (n=11) were recruited from inpatient treatment and received 12-24weeks of the YORS intervention.

Participants were 363 adolescents aged 12-17 (66% male, mean age = 15.5 [SD = 1.3], 46% non-Hispanic white) seen for a specialty addiction intake evaluation between 2017 and 2019 at one of six medical offices of a large, integrated health care system in Northern California. Multivariable logistic regression models tested for associations of sociodemographics, cigarette smoking, and substance use disorders with vaping behaviors. A majority of adolescents reported ever (68%) or current vaping (60%) of nicotine and/or cannabis; current vaping was similar for nicotine (50%) and cannabis (51%); 40% reported current vaping of both. Current smokers (6% of the sample) had higher odds of ever vaping (aOR = 3.95, 95%CI 1.04-14.95). Black (versus non-Hispanic white) adolescents had lower odds of current nicotine vaping (aOR = 0.08, 95%CI 0.02-0.37) and current vaping of both nicotine and cannabis (aOR = 0.12, 95%CI 0.03-0.60). Having an alcohol use disorder was associated with current vaping (aOR = 2.14, 95%CI 1.06-4.33). Those who endorsed that most friends get drunk/high (aOR = 1.87, 95%CI 1.02-3.42) or that cannabis was their substance of choice (aOR = 2.36, 95%CI 1.16-4.81) had higher odds of current cannabis vaping. Higher neighborhood household income ($80,000-$120,000 and >$120,000 vs. less then $80,000, aORs = 2.05-9.48), never versus ever blunt use (aORs = 2.47-8.68), and intakes in 2018 and 2019 versus 2017 (aORs = 2.18-5.38) were associated with higher odds of all vaping outcomes. Vaping was common among adolescents in addiction treatment and varied with sociodemographics and substance-related factors. Research should assess how vaping impacts the development of substance use disorders and whether it interferes with addiction treatment.
    To compare over ten weeks the number of relapses, hospital admissions, calls made, admissions to therapeutic communities, face-to-face visits, treatment adjustment, number of injectables administered, and number of emergencies attended due to emotional and behavioral alterations and/or substance use disorder, and to describe and quantify social emergencies in an outpatient drug clinic (ODC) in Salamanca (Spain) from March 16, 2020, to May 22, 2020.

    This is an ecological study of the COVID pandemic over ten weeks. The study examines the set of alcohol or other drug-dependent or dual disorder patients in the population of Salamanca, Spain. The measurements were professionals; calls made; percentage of successful calls; face-to-face visits; first visits made; reviews made; techniques; injectable treatments; other treatments; evolution; relapses. The ODC includes about 375 new patients each year and another 650 other patients annually.

    The study found the number of relapses to be greater in the last five weemotional responses and other behaviors, such as excessive alcohol consumption. The number of face-to-face consultations, admissions, and referrals to therapeutic communities increased. Patients under stress and in social isolation resorted more often to substance use. The ODC had to adopt a flexible approach to evaluate patients with more serious problems, by using face-to-face assessments.Some adult cannabis users report negative consequences of use but do not seek treatment. Nonjudgmental, brief interventions incorporating motivational interviewing techniques may be able to reach users who otherwise would not seek treatment and increase their motivation to change use. Previous studies have shown brief interventions with this population are efficacious in reducing use, but the absolute amount of change has not clearly translated into meaningful reductions in associated negative consequences. The current study used a marijuana check-up (MCU) model to attract nontreatment-seeking adults who used cannabis at levels that may have caused negative consequences. The study randomly assigned participants to 2-session (n = 93) and 6-session (n = 93) versions of the intervention and followed them for 12 months. The study designed the extended 6-session condition to build on the efficacy of the previously tested 2-session intervention. The study hypothesized that the opportunity to continue to consider the consequences of cannabis use would have the greatest impact on those who were in earlier stages of readiness for change.   • Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices are an alternative therapy in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) patients with contraindications to oral anticoagulation (OAC). However, there are limited data about the clinical outcomes of LAAC devices compared to medical treatment.

    A comprehensive research for studies comparing LAAC devices and OAC for patients with NVAF was performed from inception to January 1, 2021. A meta-analysis was performed using a random effect model to calculate odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

    Five studies were eligible that included a total of 4778 patients with a median-weighted follow-up period was 2.6 years. Compared to OAC, the LAAC device arm was associated with a lower risk of the composite of stroke, systematic embolism, and cardiovascular death (OR 0.71; 95% CI 0.51-1.00; p = 0.05).     A polymer-free biolimus-eluting stent (PF-BES) and a zotarolimus-eluting stent (ZES) recently showed similar clinical profiles and appear to be competing options in specific clinical settings of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Whether they perform similarly also in complex procedural settings as coronary bifurcation lesions remains unaddressed.

    All consecutive patients undergoing coronary bifurcation PCI with PF-BES or the new iteration of the ZES from three large multicenter real-world registries were included. The primary outcome was major adverse cardiovascular events (****), a composite of all-cause death, myocardial infarction (MI), target lesion revascularization (TLR) and stent thrombosis (ST). Multiple analyses to adjust for baseline differences were carried out including propensity-score matching, propensity-score stratification and inverse-probability-weighting. Although increased arterial stiffness has been described as a predictor of atrial fibrillation, the relationship between arterial stiffness and atrial fibrillation is uncertain.

    We assessed arterial stiffness in patients with atrial fibrillation compared with that in a control group.

    We enrolled 151 patients with atrial fibrillation who underwent pulmonary vein isolation (mean age 71.1±9.8 years) and 54 control patients with similar cardiovascular risk profiles and sinus rhythm, matched for age (mean age 68.6±15.7 years) and sex. Aortic distensibility as a measure of arterial stiffness was assessed by transoesophageal echocardiography. Patients with atrial fibrillation were followed over a median of 21 (15 to 31) months.

    Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices are an alternative therapy in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) patients with contraindications to oral anticoagulation (OAC). However, there are limited data about the clinical outcomes of LAAC devices compared to medical treatment. A comprehensive research for studies comparing LAAC devices and OAC for patients with NVAF was performed from inception to January 1, 2021. A meta-analysis was performed using a random effect model to calculate odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Five studies were eligible that included a total of 4778 patients with a median-weighted follow-up period was 2.6 years. Compared to OAC, the LAAC device arm was associated with a lower risk of the composite of stroke, systematic embolism, and cardiovascular death (OR 0.71; 95% CI 0.51-1.00; p = 0.05). A polymer-free biolimus-eluting stent (PF-BES) and a zotarolimus-eluting stent (ZES) recently showed similar clinical profiles and appear to be competing options in specific clinical settings of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Whether they perform similarly also in complex procedural settings as coronary bifurcation lesions remains unaddressed. All consecutive patients undergoing coronary bifurcation PCI with PF-BES or the new iteration of the ZES from three large multicenter real-world registries were included. The primary outcome was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), a composite of all-cause death, myocardial infarction (MI), target lesion revascularization (TLR) and stent thrombosis (ST). Multiple analyses to adjust for baseline differences were carried out including propensity-score matching, propensity-score stratification and inverse-probability-weighting. We assessed arterial stiffness in patients with atrial fibrillation compared with that in a control group. We enrolled 151 patients with atrial fibrillation who underwent pulmonary vein isolation (mean age 71.1±9.8 years) and 54 control patients with similar cardiovascular risk profiles and sinus rhythm, matched for age (mean age 68.6±15.7 years) and sex. Aortic distensibility as a measure of arterial stiffness was assessed by transoesophageal echocardiography. Patients with atrial fibrillation were followed over a median of 21 (15 to 31) months. Compared with control patients, patients with atrial fibrillation had significantly lower aortic distensibility (1.8±1.1 vs. 2.1±1.1 10 mmHg ; P=0.02). A low MA-to-dipolar energy ratio, as found in iron oxide and permalloy systems, favors isotropic mechanical superstructure stabilization, whereas a high ratio yields magnetically blocked nanoparticle macrospins which can give rise to metastable superferromagnetism, as expected in cobalt ferrite simple cubic supercrystals. Such full parallel alignment of the particle moments is shown to induce mechanical anisotropy, where the superior high-strength axis can be remotely reconfigured by means of an applied magnetic field. Carbon dot (Cdot) nanoparticles are a promising tool in cancer detection and therapy due to their unique photophysical properties, low cytotoxicity, and efficient ROS productivity. However, the effects of Cdots on tumor metabolism and growth are not well characterized. Here, the effects of Cdots on UM cell metabolomics, growth, invasiveness, and tumorigenicity are investigated in vitro and in vivo zebrafish and nude mouse xenograft model. Cdots dose-dependently increase ROS levels in UM cells. At Cdots concentrations below 100 µg mL-1, Cdot-induced ROS promote UM cell growth, invasiveness, and tumorigenicity; at 200 µg mL-1, UM cells undergo apoptosis. The addition of antioxidants reverses the protumorigenic effects of Cdots. Cdots at 25-100 µg mL-1 activate Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling and enhance glutamine metabolism, generating a cascade that promotes UM cell growth. These results demonstrate that moderate, subapoptotic doses of Cdots can promote UM cell tumorigenicity. Herein, recent studies on the chirality transfer induced self-assembly based on a variety of supramolecular interactions are summarized. In addition, the influence of different environments and the states of systems including solutions, condensed states, gel systems, interfaces on the asymmetric hierarchical self-assembly, and the expression of chirality are explored.

  • Previous study found a high content of kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside (KR) in Lu'an GuaPian tea, however, the rat plasma protein binding and mechanism of KR for cardiovascular protection are unclear. Thus, we studied plasma protein binding using ultrafiltration followed by UPLC, and screened its inhibition against LPS-induced inflammation injury in vitro as well as the underlying mechanism by molecular docking and western blot. KR showed over 74% plasma protein binding ratio. Furthermore, KR may act on the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88). In vitro experiments showed that KR decreases the overexpression of TLR4, MyD88, and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), which further validates the molecular docking results, suggesting that KR could block TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling. These results indicate that KR could be a potential active agent in the protection of myocardial injury. To evaluate the change characteristics of CYP1A2 activity in premature infants, an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and optimized for the simultaneous quantitation of serum CA and its major metabolites, including paraxanthine (PX), theophylline (TP) and theobromine (TB), in premature infants. A C18 column and gradient elution with 0.1% formic acid in methanol and 0.1% formic acid in water at a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min were used for compound separation. The mass spectrometer monitored the transitions of CA (m/z 195.0 → 138.0), CA-d9 (m/z 204.0 → 144.1), PX (m/z 181.0 → 124.1), TP (m/z 181.0 → 123.9) and TB (m/z 181.0 → 138.0) using multiple reaction monitoring in positive ion mode. CYP1A2 activity was evaluated by serum molar concentration ratios of CA and its metabolites. The results showed that CYP1A2 has a significant positive correlation with the clearance of CA, and was affected by current weight and CYP1A2*1C. The results suggested that the serum concentration ratios of CA metabolites could be used to predict the changes in CYP1A2 enzyme activity in premature infants.
    The aim of this case series was to report arthroscopic findings and to evaluate clinical outcomes of dogs treated with an inverted V-shaped extracapsular stabilisation technique without additional external coaptation for medial shoulder instability.

    Medical records of dogs with medial shoulder instability that underwent arthroscopy and an inverted V-shaped extracapsular stabilisation technique were retrospectively reviewed. Extracapsular stabilisation was performed in all dogs using screws and spiked washers as anchor points for the coated polyester prosthetic ligament. No additional external coaptation was used in any dog. A minimum 18-month follow-up period was required for study inclusion. Complications and long-term outcomes were recorded.

    The subscapularis tendon and medial glenohumeral ligament were the structures most commonly affected. All dogs had pathological cartilage fibrillations. Implants were successfully placed in all dogs. Implant loosening was recorded in two out of six dogs on recheck but no revision surgery was performed. Function at the time of last clinical follow-up (median, 28 months, range 18 to 33 months) was full in four out of six and acceptable in two out of six dogs.

    Surgical treatment of medial shoulder instability using the novel inverted V-shaped extracapsular stabilisation technique was successful. Potential complications such as implant loosening may occur. Despite the limited number of cases, the present study suggests that additional postoperative external coaptation may not be necessary for successful management of dogs with medial shoulder instability.

    While convalescent plasma (CP) may benefit patients with COVID-19, fundamental questions remain regarding its efficacy, including the components of CP that may contribute to its therapeutic effect. Most current serological evaluation of CP relies on examination of total immunoglobulin or IgG-specific anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels. However, IgA antibodies, which also circulate and are secreted along the respiratory mucosa, represent a relatively uncharacterized component of CP.

    Residual samples from patients and CP donors were assessed for IgM, IgG, and IgA anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody titers against the receptor-binding domain responsible for viral entry. Symptom onset was obtained by chart review.

    Increased IgA anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels correlated with clinical improvement and viral clearance in an infant with COVID-19, prompting a broader examination of IgA levels among CP donors and hospitalized patients. Significant heterogeneity in IgA levels was observed among CP donors, which correlated weakly with IgG levels or the results of a commonly employed serological test. Unlike IgG and IgM, IgA levels were also more likely to be variable in hospitalized patients and this variability persisted in some patients >14 days following symptom onset. IgA levels were also less likely to be sustained than IgG levels following subsequent CP donation.

The mass spectrometer monitored the transitions of CA (m/z 195.0 → 138.0), CA-d9 (m/z 204.0 → 144.1), PX (m/z 181.0 → 124.1), TP (m/z 181.0 → 123.9) and TB (m/z 181.0 → 138.0) using multiple reaction monitoring in positive ion mode. The aim of this case series was to report arthroscopic findings and to evaluate clinical outcomes of dogs treated with an inverted V-shaped extracapsular stabilisation technique without additional external coaptation for medial shoulder instability. Medical records of dogs with medial shoulder instability that underwent arthroscopy and an inverted V-shaped extracapsular stabilisation technique were retrospectively reviewed. Extracapsular stabilisation was performed in all dogs using screws and spiked washers as anchor points for the coated polyester prosthetic ligament. No additional external coaptation was used in any dog. A minimum 18-month follow-up period was required for study inclusion. Complications and long-term outcomes were recorded. The subscapularis tendon and medial glenohumeral ligament were the structures most commonly affected. All dogs had pathological cartilage fibrillations. Implants were successfully placed in all dogs. Implant loosening was recorded in two out of six dogs on recheck but no revision surgery was performed. Function at the time of last clinical follow-up (median, 28 months, range 18 to 33 months) was full in four out of six and acceptable in two out of six dogs. Surgical treatment of medial shoulder instability using the novel inverted V-shaped extracapsular stabilisation technique was successful. Potential complications such as implant loosening may occur. While convalescent plasma (CP) may benefit patients with COVID-19, fundamental questions remain regarding its efficacy, including the components of CP that may contribute to its therapeutic effect. Most current serological evaluation of CP relies on examination of total immunoglobulin or IgG-specific anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels. However, IgA antibodies, which also circulate and are secreted along the respiratory mucosa, represent a relatively uncharacterized component of CP. Residual samples from patients and CP donors were assessed for IgM, IgG, and IgA anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody titers against the receptor-binding domain responsible for viral entry. Symptom onset was obtained by chart review. Increased IgA anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels correlated with clinical improvement and viral clearance in an infant with COVID-19, prompting a broader examination of IgA levels among CP donors and hospitalized patients. Significant heterogeneity in IgA levels was observed among CP donors, which correlated weakly with IgG levels or the results of a commonly employed serological test. Unlike IgG and IgM, IgA levels were also more likely to be variable in hospitalized patients and this variability persisted in some patients >14 days following symptom onset. IgA levels were also less likely to be sustained than IgG levels following subsequent CP donation. IgA levels can be very heterogenous among CP donors and hospitalized patients and do not necessarily correlate with commonly employed testing platforms. Examining isotype levels in CP and COVID-19 patients may allow for a tailored approach when seeking to fill specific gaps in humoral immunity. To address this, leaf, floral, pollen, and orbicule micromorphology of four Korean Disporum species was investigated using light and scanning electron microscopy. All Korean Disporum species examined had hypostomatic leaves, with anomocytic stomatal complexes found only on the abaxial epidermis. Guard cell length varied among species, ranging from 44.30 μm in D. viridescens to 53.49 μm in D. uniflorum. The epidermal cells of the investigated Disporum taxa had sinuate anticlinal cell walls on both adaxial and abaxial surfaces. The surface of the guard and subsidiary cells were either smooth with weak striations or had strongly wrinkled striations. The pollen grains of all Korean Disporum taxa were monads, monosulcate with granular aperture membranes, subprolate to prolate in shape with microreticularibed for the first time. Phylogenetically informative pollen and orbicule micromorphological characters are described, improving understanding the systematic relationships of Korean species in the genus Disproum.

    Birth parameters have long been reported to have a role in human intelligence. However, the causalities reported in previous observational studies were controversial. Our study aims to provide an unbiased investigation of the causal associations between birth parameters and human intelligence using the Mendelian randomization (MR) approach.

    Genetic instrumental variables for MR analyses were extracted from large genome-wide association studies of infant head circumference (N=10,768), birth length (N=28,489), and birth weight (N=321,223). Data for intelligence were obtained from a meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies of 269,867 individuals of the European ancestry. Primary MR analysis was performed using the standard inverse-variance weighted method, and sensitivity analyses were performed using the weighted median, MR-Egger, and MR-PRESSO methods.

    Using 10 single nucleotide polymorphisms as instrumental variables, we found that 1 standard deviation increase in infant head circumference was associated with 0.14-fold higher scores in intelligence tests (β=0.14, 95% confidence interval 0.09 to 0.18, P

A novel SGAC was proposed to improve the feature learning ability and special anatomy prior guided pooling was developed to enable the feature dimension reduction. A temporal fusion module was proposed to capture the dynamic features of functional connectivity between adjacent sliding windows.

  • This study presents an opportunity to gain insights into the adult presentation of GAMT deficiency and highlights the need for in-depth evaluation and reporting of clinical features to expand our understanding of the phenotypic spectrum.Very long-chain acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency (VLCADD, OMIM 201475) is a congenital fatty acid oxidation disorder. Individuals with VLCADD should avoid catabolic states, including strenuous exercise and long-term fasting; however, such conditions are required when undergoing surgery. The perioperative management of VLCADD in infants has rarely been reported and details regarding the transition of serum biomarkers reflecting catabolic status have not been disclosed. Herein, we present the perioperative clinical and biological data of cryptorchidism in a 1.5-year-old boy with VLCADD. The patient was diagnosed through newborn screening and his clinical course was very stable. Genetic testing of ACADVL revealed compound heterozygous variants c.506 T > C (p.Met169Thr) and c.606-609delC (p.L216*). The enzyme activity of the patient with VLCAD was only 20% compared to that of healthy control. Left orchiopexy for the pediatric cryptorchidism was planned and performed at 1 and a half year of age.     The cohorts included a total of 528 patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database, 354 receiving RP and 174 receiving RT. Cox proportional hazards regressions were performed to assess cancer specific mortality (CSM) and overall mortality (OM) between treatment groups. A competing risk analysis was further conducted. Subgroup analyses by age and level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) were performed. Propensity score matching was implemented.

    Patients managed with RP had lower risks of CSM and OM compared with RT (before matching Hazard ratio [HR]=0.24, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.13-0.47 and HR=0.26, 95% CI 0.17-0.40, respectively; after matching HR=0.18, 95% CI 0.04-0.82 and HR=0.28, 95% CI 0.11-0.70, accordingly).     Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common cause of morbidity and hospitalisation in the population worldwide. Upper UTI is indolent and causes subclinical acute kidney injury (AKI) resulting in preventable cause of scarring of renal parenchyma. We explored urinary and serum levels of kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), haematological parameters and quantitative urine microscopy parameters to predict kidney injury.

    Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is obtained by dividing absolute neutrophil count with absolute lymphocyte count. Quantitative urine sediment microscopy was performed and correlated with clinical, biochemical and haematological findings to predict AKI in patients with UTI. Quantitative ELISA was performed for serum and urine levels of KIM-1. Seventy two adult patients with UTI were enrolled, 45 of whom had AKI while 27 were in the non-AKI group.

We aim to evaluate the feasibility of validating simulation-training tasks in laparoscopy and flexible ureteroscopy (FURS) rapidly at a large-scale conference setting for residents.

    Seventy-six urology residents from various Asian countries were assessed on their laparoscopic and FURS skills during the 14th Urological Association of Asia Congress 2016. Upper UTI is indolent and causes subclinical acute kidney injury (AKI) resulting in preventable cause of scarring of renal parenchyma. We explored urinary and serum levels of kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), haematological parameters and quantitative urine microscopy parameters to predict kidney injury. Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is obtained by dividing absolute neutrophil count with absolute lymphocyte count. Quantitative urine sediment microscopy was performed and correlated with clinical, biochemical and haematological findings to predict AKI in patients with UTI. Quantitative ELISA was performed for serum and urine levels of KIM-1. Seventy two adult patients with UTI were enrolled, 45 of whom had AKI while 27 were in the non-AKI group. Compared with PTNS, TTNS had a similar performance in the voiding frequency in 24 hours (mean difference [MD] = -0.65, 95% confidence interval [CI] -1.35 to 0.05, P = .07), the number of urgency episodes in 24 hours (MD = 0.13, 95% CI -0.36 to 0.62, P = .60), the number of incontinence episodes in 24 hours (MD = 0.01, 95% CI -0.13 to 0.14, P = .93), as well as in the nocturia frequency (MD = -0.14, 95% CI -0.52 to 0.24, P = .47). Studies have shown that exercise can improve frailty in older people.     We searched the following databases for relevant articles published between January 1, 2012 and January 1, 2021 PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, Wanfang, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Clinical Trials Database, and the Science Network. Two independent reviewers will carry out data extraction, discuss and resolve differences, and obtain consensus from the third author. We will select randomized control trials (RCTs) according to the preformulated inclusion criteria. The main outcomes in this study are scores frome selected RCTs. RevMan Manager 5.3 and STATA 14.0 will be used for data analysis if enough RCTs (more than 10) are identified and selected.

    The final results will provide information on the effectiveness of intervention programs for frail older adul and further demonstrate which exercise programs are more effective and which methods can significantly improve frailty.

    This protocol will contribute to the development of more effective interventions for elderly individuals with frailty.

    Although collaborative treatment by traditional Korean medicine doctors (KMDs) and medical doctors occurs, it is mainly done by referral. As no survey of the general public's preference for the type of collaboration has ever been conducted, we aimed to investigate Koreans' preferences for a collaborative treatment type.The responders were extracted by random digit dialing and then reextracted using the proportional quota sampling method by sex and age.     A timeline of events and a comprehensive incident categorisation system were applied to all radiation incidents and near misses recorded at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Radiation Oncology department from 2003 to 2019, inclusive. Descriptive statistics were performed to identify the type and number of incidents reported during the time period in relation to potential changes within the department, with a focus on the implementation of an electronic environment.

    Over the seventeen-year period, 157 incidents and 76 near misses were reported. The majority of incidents were classified as 'procedural' (78%), with 'treatment' being both the highest point of error and point of detection (49% and 85%, respectively).
