Overall, 139 patients with senile cataract were randomised into EM and RM groups. The qualitative approach was used to analyse the first three phases, while non-parametric methods were used to analych into the development of the PFME intervention brought novel perspectives to the intervention.     This is a descriptive retrospective study using data from the medical records of patients diagnosed with primary OC who underwent surgery at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sanglah General Hospital Denpasar, Bali from January 2018 to December 2019.

    Significant and persistent racial and ethnic disparities exist related to infant mortality and other birth outcomes. Few models exist that aim to prepare organizations to implement essential features, such as community engagement or intervening on social determinants of health.

    Between 2013 and 2015, teams from seven local health departments participated in the Institute for Equity in Birth Outcomes (EI) with the goals of building capacity and implementing changes to address equity in birth outcomes. Four of the teams enrolled in the first cohort (2013-2015), and three enrolled in cohort two (2014-2015). To examine the EI effort and its impact on capacity and implementation of changes, two types of assessments were completed. Capacities of the teams in specific key areas were assessed using "Best Change Process" instruments at the completion of participation in the EI. Teams also documented on an ongoing basis implementation of interventions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Correlation tests.

    Best Change Process capacity scores were higher in the first cohort than in the second and were highly correlated with implementation of changes (Pearson's Correlation = 0.838, p = 0.037). Collectively, the teams implemented about 32 new programs, policies, practices, and systems changes aimed at addressing equity in birth outcomes. Most interventions were based on scientific recommendations and local epidemiologic data.

Each measure was examined overall and by age, race/ethnicity, union status, and survey period.

Our study sample included 1782 U.S. children 2-5years old with available birth weight and two 24-h dietary recalls. We used linear and Poisson regression to examine the association of birth weight (LBW < 2500g, HBW > 4100g) and 2-day average intake of dietary variables. We tested interactions between birthweight and breastfeeding (breastfed > 5months vs. not breastfed or breastfed 0-5months), and report breastfeeding-specific results.

    In multivariable regression analysis, in boys, LBW was associated with 2.4 (95% CI -4.3, -0.5) lower percent of kcal from solid fat; lower sugar intake, marginally lower saturated and total fat intake, and 0.6 cup (95% CI 0.1, 1.0) greater vegetable consumption; HBW was marginally associated with lower fat. Birth weight was unrelated to diet in girls. Breastfeeding modified associations between birth weight and dietary intake, but the direction of modification was mixed.

In this review, we summarized how molecular imprinted polymers and toxicology intersect and what has been done about molecular imprinted polymers in toxicology by looking at the studies conducted in the last 5 years.The wide use of phthalates, as phthalates are used in the manufacturing of not only plastics but also many others goods, has become a main concern in the current century because of their potency to induce deleterious effects on organism health. Some of the important mechanisms of toxicity by phthalates are the induction and promotion of inflammation, oxidative stress, and apoptosis. Awareness of the involved molecular pathways of these mechanisms will permit the detection of exact molecular targets of phthalates to protect or treat their toxicity. Up to now, various transcription factors and signaling pathways have been associated with phthalate-induced toxicity which by influencing on nuclear surface and the expression of different genes can alter cell hemostasis. In the present review, we aim to survey experimental studies (in vitro and in vivo) in order to show firstly the most involved receptors and also the importance and the role of the mentioned signaling pathways in phthalate-induced toxicity, and with considering this point, the future studies can focus on these molecular targets as a strategic method to reduce environmental chemicals-induced toxicity especially phthalates toxic effects.The survival of COVID-19 in different environments may be affected by a variety of weather, pollution, and seasonal parameters. Therefore, the present study aims to conduct an ecological investigation on COVID-19 average growth rate of daily cases and deaths influenced by environmental factors (temperature, humidity, and air pollution) using a sample size of adjusted cumulative incidence of daily cases and deaths based on five 60-day periods. Research data was gathered on official websites, including information on COVID-19, meteorological data, and air pollution indicators from December 31, 2019, to October 12, 2020, from 210 countries. Spearman correlation and generalized additive model (GAM) were used to analyze the data. During the observed period, the COVID-19 average growth rate of daily cases (r = -0.08, P =0.151) and deaths (r= -0.09, P = 0.207) were not correlated with humidity. Also, there was a negative relationship between the COVID-19 average growth rate of new cases and deaths with the Air Quality Index (AQI) and wind (new cases and wind r=-0.25, P= 0.04). Furthermore, the data related to the first and second 60 day of the adjusted cumulative incidence of COVID-19 daily cases and deaths were not associated with humidity and Air Quality Index (AQI). The result of GAM showed the effect of AQI on the average growth rate of COVID-19 new cases and deaths.   • The taxonomy-based response pattern of macroinvertebrates to pollution gradient is well established, with tolerant taxa increasing in impacted conditions, while sensitive taxa increase with decreasing deterioration, typical of rural pollution. This study identified rural indicator and sensitive traits of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera (EPT) taxa by examining their trait distribution pattern in relation to rural pollution. Physicochemical parameters and EPT were sampled seasonally from August 2016 to April 2017. Eight sites were selected and categorised into three site groups. Site group 1 served as the least impacted site group and Site group 2 as the moderately influenced, whereas Site group 3 was the most impacted. Seven traits were selected and categorised into 27 trait modalities. The response of EPT traits to physicochemical parameters was analysed using the simultaneous analysis of the information contained in three tables R (environmental characteristics of samples), L (taxa distribution across samples) and Q (species traits) (RLQ) and confirmed with fourth-corner analysis. Three trait attributes, large (10-20 mm), swimming, shredding, streamlined body shape and large body size (≥ 10-20), were considered tolerant signature traits of semi-urban pollution. These trait attributes were associated with the influenced Site group 3 and indicated a significant positive affinity with at least one physicochemical indicator of increasing semi-urban pollution (NH4-N, NO3-N, NO2-N, PO4-P, EC, turbidity, temperature and pH). Conversely, small body size ( less then  10 mm), operculate gills, spherical body shape and a preference for sediments were correlated with the least influenced Site group 1 and were considered sensitive traits of semi-urban disturbance. Overall, this study provided critical insights into EPT responses to disturbance, revealing that semi-urban activities influenced EPT traits differently in the Tsitsa River.In this work, CuO-loaded tetragonal SnO2 nanoparticles (CuO/SnO2 NPs) were synthesized using precipitation/impregnation methods with varying Cu contents of 0-25 wt% and characterized for H2S detection. The material phase, morphology, chemical composition, and specific surface area of NPs were evaluated using X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis. From gas-sensing data, the H2S responses of SnO2 NPs were greatly enhanced by CuO loading particularly at the optimal Cu content of 20 wt%. The 20 wt% CuO/SnO2 sensor showed an excellent response of 1.36 × 105 toward 10 ppm H2S and high H2S selectivity against H2, SO2, CH4, and C2H2 at a low optimum working temperature of 200 °C. In addition, the sensor provided fast response and a low detection limit of less than 0.15 ppm. The CuO-SnO2 sensor could therefore be a potential candidate for H2S detection in environmental applications.
    Osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are characterized by abnormal lipid metabolism manifested as altered fatty acid (FA) profiles of synovial fluid and tissues and in the way dietary FA supplements can influence the symptoms of especially RA. In addition to classic eicosanoids, the potential roles of polyunsaturated FA (PUFA)-derived specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators (SPM) have become the focus of intensive research. Here, we summarize the current state of knowledge of the roles of FA and oxylipins in the degradation or protection of synovial joints.

    There exists discordance between the large body of literature from cell culture and animal experiments on the adverse and beneficial effects of individual FA and the lack of effective treatments for joint destruction in OA and RA patients. Saturated 160 and 180 induce mostly deleterious effects, while long-chain n-3 PUFA, especially 205n-3, have positive influence on joint health. The situation can be more complex for n-6 PUFA, such as 1uence on joint health. The situation can be more complex for n-6 PUFA, such as 182n-6, 204n-6, and its derivative prostaglandin E2, with a combination of potentially adverse and beneficial effects. SPM analogs have future potential as analgesics for arthritic pain. In this review, we have discussed combinatorial use of vitamin C in inhibiting tumour growth by enhancing the catalytic activity of TET enzymes and consequently, increasing the 5-hmC levels. 5-Hydroxymethylcytosine holds promise as a prognostic biomarker in solid cancers. The contribution of induction and suppression of TET enzymes and 5-hmC carcinogenesis are discussed in haematological and solid cancers.

Currently, there is no effective medicine to treat this virus. In our previous experiments, the low-molecular-weight Sargassum fusiforme polysaccharide (SFP) was proven to possess antiviral activity against ALV-J, but its function was limited to the virus adsorption stage. In order to improve the antiviral activity of the SFP, in this study, three new SFP long-chain alkyl group nanomicelles (SFP-C12M, SFP-C14M and SFP-C16M) were prepared. The nanomicelles were characterized according to their physical and chemical properties. The nanomicelles were characterized by particle size, zeta potential, polydispersity index, critical micelle concentration and morphology. The results showed the particle sizes of the three nanomicelles were all approximately 200 nm and SFP-C14M and SFP-C16M were more stable than SFP-C12M. The newly prepared nanomicelles exhibited a better anti-ALV-J activity than the SFP, with SFP-C16M exhibiting the best antiviral effects in both the virus adsorption stage and the replication stage. The results of the giant unilamellar vesicle exposure experiment demonstrated that the new virucidal effect of the nanomicelles might be caused by damage to the phospholipid membrane of ALV-J. In our previous experiments, the low-molecular-weight Sargassum fusiforme polysaccharide (SFP) was proven to possess antiviral activity against ALV-J, but its function was limited to the virus adsorption stage. In order to improve the antiviral activity of the SFP, in this study, three new SFP long-chain alkyl group nanomicelles (SFP-C12M, SFP-C14M and SFP-C16M) were prepared. The nanomicelles were characterized according to their physical and chemical properties. The nanomicelles were characterized by particle size, zeta potential, polydispersity index, critical micelle concentration and morphology. The results showed the particle sizes of the three nanomicelles were all approximately 200 nm and SFP-C14M and SFP-C16M were more stable than SFP-C12M. The newly prepared nanomicelles exhibited a better anti-ALV-J activity than the SFP, with SFP-C16M exhibiting the best antiviral effects in both the virus adsorption stage and the replication stage.     This paper aims to provide the background and methods for conducting a scoping review on the use of person-generated health data from connected devices in women's health. The objectives of the scoping review are to identify the various contexts of digital technologies in women's health and to consolidate women's views on the usability and acceptability of the devices.

    Searches were conducted in the following databases Medline, Embase, APA PsycInfo, CINAHL Complete, and Web of Science Core Collection. We included articles from January 2015 to February 2020. Screening of articles was done independently by at least two authors in two stages. Data charting is being conducted in duplicate. Results will be reported using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) checklist.

    Our search identified 9102 articles after deduplication. As of November 2020, the full-text screening stage is almost complete and data charting is in progress. The scoping review is expected to be completed by Fall 2021.

    This scoping review will broadly map the literature regarding the contexts and acceptability of digital health tools for women. The results from this review will be useful in guiding future digital health and women's health research.

Often, family members, including stroke survivors and the person who takes up the role of the primary caregiver, would encounter demands on finances, rehabilitation arrangement, and even conflicts.     Commercial off-the-shelf activity trackers (eg, Fitbit) allow users to self-monitor their daily physical activity (PA), including the number of steps, type of PA, amount of sleep, and other features. Fitbits have been used as both measurement and intervention tools. However, it is not clear how they are being incorporated into PA intervention studies, and their use in specific age groups across the life course is not well understood.

    This narrative review aims to characterize how PA intervention studies across the life course use Fitbit devices by synthesizing and summarizing information on device selection, intended use (intervention vs measurement tool), participant wear instructions, rates of adherence to device wear, strategies used to boost adherence, and the complementary use of other PA measures. This review provides intervention scientists with a synthesis of information that may inform future trials involving Fitbit devices.

As the use of monitoring devices continues to expand in PA research, the lack of uniformity in study protocols and metrics of reported measures represents a major issue for comparability purposes.   • This review summarizes what is known regarding the prevalence of intracardiac thrombus, diagnostic strategies, clinical relevance, and treatment options, focusing on four specific types of thrombus for which recent research has shifted clinical understanding and treatment decisions 1) left atrial appendage thrombus, 2) cardiac implantable electronic device lead thrombus, 3) bioprosthetic aortic valve thrombus, and 4) left ventricular thrombus. Additional studies, ideally prospective, randomized, and head-to-head in design, are needed to better inform best practices in patients with intracardiac thrombi.

    Continuing health provider education (HPE) is an important intervention supported by health policy to counter the opioid epidemic; knowledge regarding appropriate program design and evaluation is lacking. The authors aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of evaluations of opioid-related continuing HPE programs and their appropriateness as interventions to improve population health.

    In January 2020, the authors conducted a systematic search of 7 databases, seeking studies of HPE programs on opioid analgesic prescribing and overdose prevention. Reviewers independently screened the titles and abstracts of all studies and then assessed the full texts of all studies potentially eligible for inclusion. The authors extracted a range of data using categories for evaluating complex programs the use of theory, program purpose, inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, and industry involvement. Some found novel ways to join efforts to respond to the pandemic. Georgetown University School of Medicine medical students created Medical Supply Drive (MSD or MedSupplyDrive), a 501(c)(3), on March 17, 2020, in response to the national shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This article reviews the formation of a national response to the pandemic, the methods employed to distribute PPE, and the results of MSD's work from March 17, 2020, through June 20, 2020.     This review summarizes what is known regarding the prevalence of intracardiac thrombus, diagnostic strategies, clinical relevance, and treatment options, focusing on four specific types of thrombus for which recent research has shifted clinical understanding and treatment decisions 1) left atrial appendage thrombus, 2) cardiac implantable electronic device lead thrombus, 3) bioprosthetic aortic valve thrombus, and 4) left ventricular thrombus. Additional studies, ideally prospective, randomized, and head-to-head in design, are needed to better inform best practices in patients with intracardiac thrombi. The authors aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of evaluations of opioid-related continuing HPE programs and their appropriateness as interventions to improve population health. In January 2020, the authors conducted a systematic search of 7 databases, seeking studies of HPE programs on opioid analgesic prescribing and overdose prevention. Reviewers independently screened the titles and abstracts of all studies and then assessed the full texts of all studies potentially eligible for inclusion. The authors extracted a range of data using categories for evaluating complex programs the use of theory, program purpose, inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, and industry involvement. Patients and Methods In this retrospective study, the medical documentation of women who underwent breast implant surgery and US checkups at Tautrimas Aštrauskas Clinic in Kaunas, Lithuania, during 2015-2020 was analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups patients with intact and ruptured breast implants. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) as well as the signs of implant integrity of US examination were evaluated. Results In this most important US sign of breast implant rupture. Based on the findings, we recommend performing US examination after breast augmentation surgery with silicone gel-filled implants annually.As an additive to improve the performance of asphalt binder, tire pyrolysis carbon black is gradually being used in road engineering, but the effect of carbon black (CB) with different particle sizes on asphalt modification remains to be further studied. In this study, three kinds of particle sizes and three kinds of contents of CB were used to modify asphalt, and different tests were conducted to research the high temperature performance and fatigue resistance of carbon black modified asphalt binder. It is found that the addition of CB can enhance the rutting resistance and medium temperature fatigue performance of virgin asphalt binder in general. However, for CB of 270 μm and 2.6 μm, its addition under certain contents lead to the decrease of high temperature performance and fatigue performance of the asphalt binder. For aged asphalt, the addition of CB decreases the rutting resistance and improves the fatigue resistance. The recommended content and particle size of CB are 2% and 2.6 μm. This study refines the complex effects of CB on asphalt properties, providing a reference for determining the size and content of CB in asphalt modification.Multidrug resistant bacteria create a challenging situation for society to treat infections. Multidrug resistance (MDR) is the reason for biofilm bacteria to cause chronic infection. Plant-based nanoparticles could be an alternative solution as potential drug candidates against these MDR bacteria, as many plants are well known for their antimicrobial activity against pathogenic microorganisms. Spondias mombin is a traditional plant which has already been used for medicinal purposes as every part of this plant has been proven to have its own medicinal values. In this research, the S. mombin extract was used to synthesise AgNPs. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized and further tested for their antibacterial, reactive oxygen species and cytotoxicity properties. The characterization results showed the synthesized AgNPs to be between 8 to 50 nm with -11.52 of zeta potential value. The existence of the silver element in the AgNPs was confirmed with the peaks obtained in the EDX spectrometry. Significant antibacterial activity was observed against selected biofilm-forming pathogenic bacteria.

    One hundred and one participants were included in the study; fifty-one children with language delay as the case group and fifty children with typical development as the control group. Maternal depressive symptoms were evaluated by **** Depression Inventory. The general development of each child was evaluated by Denver II Screening Test and Bayley-Third Edition. Language development was evaluated by the Preschool Language Scale-5. The questionnaire for the sociodemographic data and media usage patterns was prepared by the study team.

    Maternal depression scores, duration of TV viewing, background TV were higher in the children with language delay and they started earlier using screen devices in comparison with the control group (p < 0.05). The total amount of interaction time and co-viewing were less in children with language delay and more parents intended to keep their children occupied by watching in the case group (p < 0.05). Mother care-giving (p = 0.002, OR = 5.80, CI 1.93-17.4) and absence of co-viewing (p = 0.000, OR = 9.46, CI 2.69-33.3) were the significant factors associated with language delay.

    Young children with language delay were more exposed to communicative environmental risk factors than children with typical development. The integration of this perspective to child health care practices should be encouraged in early childhood.

In this study, the primary human periodontal ligament cells (PDLCs) were isolated, cultured, and exposed to LPS treatment, and the results suggested that LPS suppressed cell viability and promoted pro-inflammatory cytokines' (IL-1β, IL-18, IL-6, and TNF-α) generation and secretion in the PDLCs and its supernatants in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. Also, we noticed that LPS upregulated NLRP3, Gasdermin D, and cleaved caspase-1 to trigger pyroptotic cell death in the PDLCs. Further experiments identified that glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) was upregulated by LPS treatment, and inhibition of GSK-3β by its inhibitor (GSKI) or GSK-3β downregulation vectors was effective to restore normal cellular functions in LPS-treated PDLCs. Mechanistically, blockage of GSK-3β restrained NLRP3-meidated cell pyroptosis and inflammation, resulting in the recovery of cell viability and inhibition of cell death in PDLCs treated with LPS, which further ameliorated periodontitis progression. Finally, we collected the serum from periodontitis patients and healthy volunteers, and the clinical data supported that those pro-inflammatory cytokines were also upregulated in patients' serum but not in the healthy participants. Prescription drug dispensing data was extracted for inciting medication and second treatment (cholinesterase inhibitor and bladder anticholinergic, metoclopramide and Parkinson's disease medication, or calcium channel blocker (CCB) and diuretic) over the six-year period April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2015. In three separate analyses, dispensing an inciting medication signaled a look **** of 365 days from the date of first dispensing to confirm that the second treatment was started after the inciting medication. The prescribing cascade was considered when the second treatment was started within 180 days of the inciting treatment.     A random sample of 223 individuals (123 men, 100 women) participated in the study. Medical history was obtained, and unstimulated whole saliva (UWS) and stimulated whole saliva (SWS) were collected to determine salivary secretion rates. Sniffin`n Sticks and Taste Strips (Burghart Messtechnik GmbH, Wedel, Germany) were used for quantitative testing of olfactory and gustatory function. In addition, the participants' self-reported perceptions of smell and taste, and burning mouth sensation were investigated.

    The results showed that 34 % of the participants had reduced smell (28 % hyposmia and 6 % anosmia) and 28 % had reduced taste perception (21 % hypogeusia and 7 % ageusia). 1 dysgeusia and burning mouth sensation was very low. Reduced smell and taste perception were more common among men than women. Furthermore, some diseases and medications were associated with chemosensory and trigeminal disorders. Our study aims to systematically review all available quality assessment (QA) tools employed on in vitro SRs/MAs.

    A search on four databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Virtual Health Library and Web of Science, was conducted from 2006 to 2020. The available SRs/MAs of in vitro studies were evaluated. DARE tool was applied to assess the risk of bias of included articles. Our protocol was developed and uploaded to ResearchGate in June 2016.

    Our findings reported an increasing trend in publication of in vitro SRs/MAs from 2007 to 2020. Among the 244 included SRs/MAs, 126 articles (51.6%) had conducted the QA procedure. Even though considerable progress has been done during the last years, the synthesis of relatively controlled SCNPs with a good folding accuracy is still challenging due to lack of appropriate chemical synthesis techniques. Different types of SCNPs are developed with enhanced properties and used for various applications, e.g., delivery systems, imaging agents, and nanomedicine. As it is believed that SCNPs are so crucial to elucidate single chain technology, in this review, recent developments in SCNPs are discussed comprehensively according to their synthetic approaches to keep readers updated on this important research field. In this work, PVA is crosslinked at room temperature using divinyl sulfone (DVS) as a crosslinker, and the obtained crosslinked PVA (XPVA) is water-insoluble. Crosslinking mechanism is proposed, thermal and microwave dielectric properties of X-PVA are studied. The studies revealed that X-PVA has better thermal stability and microwave absorption properties. The obtained minimum reflection loss (RL) of X-PVA is -23 dB (filler-free) with entire X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz) absorption bandwidth (RL ≤ -10 dB), indicating excellent microwave absorption properties. Artificial neural network (ANN) predicted RL of X-PVA also matched well with the experimental data. Electromagnetic power simulation suggests that the microwave power absorption density due to the dielectric loss is intrinsically predominant in X-PVA compared to the pristine PVA. Further, the ratio of electromagnetic energy to heat energy conversion power (absorption) of X-PVA is **** higher than pristine PVA, indicating the suitability for self-powered devices.
