We conducted the present study to compare the short- and long-term outcomes of OPCAB in patients with different ejection fractions.

    This retrospective cohort study used data from the Hua-Shan Cardiac Surgery and included consecutive patients aged ≥ 18 years who underwent OPCAB procedures during 2016-2019. The patients included in the study were followed up until death or the end of data collection. Patients with different ejection fractions were matched 12 using propensity score matching.     Nineteen countries targeted for database reporting were identified using published country lists and review articles. Surveillance capacity was assessed using two surveys a 9-item introductory survey and a 51-item full survey. Survey questions related to database characteristics, covariate and health outcome variables, vaccine exposure characteristics, access and governance, and dataset linkage capability. Other questions collated research/regulatory applications of the data and local publications detailing database use for research.

    Eleven databases containing vaccine-specific information were identified acroedures, together with requirement for data linkage for outcome information, all contribute to the challenges in building a distributed network for vaccine safety assessment in the Asia-Pacific and globally. Common data models (CDMs) may help expedite vaccine safety research across the region.

The primary outcome was HRQoL at last available follow-up analysed using a random-effects model. In contrast, statistical data on the sequelae of fetal reduction surgery and applications of MPR in assisted reproductive technologies were relatively immature.

A 71-year-old woman was hospitalized due to the recurrence of faciobrachial sensory loss. Magnetic resonance imaging showed an infarct involving the right side of the middle portion of midbrain at the level of the inferior colliculus. In our case we tried to make some clinico-anatomical correlations. The main anatomical structures involved were the medial lemniscal tract, the ventral part of the spinothalamic tract and the trigeminothalamic tract. The location of the stroke would suggest there are overlaps between arterial territories of the midbrain. Clinicians should look for midbrain infarcts in cases of pure sensory stroke.

    The data we used in this study includes individual data from the UK Biobank cohort with 331,002 white British participants, and summary data from published genome wide associations studies (GWAS) findings. We used individual data to perform logistic regression for the observational study and two-stage least squares method for the Mendelian randomization (MR) study. We also performed several traditional MR methods and MR-TRYX by summary data.

    The observational study supported the association relationships between bilirubin and CVD and diabetes and their subtypes. Results of MR showed strong evidence for negative causal associations of log

Also, autochthonous and sporadic cases are reported in developed countries. HEV causes acute and chronic infections. Besides, extrahepatic manifestations including neurological, renal, haematological, acute pancreatitis and complications during pregnancy are associated with HEV infections. The pathogenesis of HEV in the extrahepatic tissues is either due to direct cytopathic effect mediated by the virus replication, or immunological mechanisms caused by an uncontrollable host response. Researchers have used different in vivo and in vitro models to study the pathogenesis of HEV in the extrahepatic tissues and analyse the host immune response against HEV infection. This review highlights the extrahepatic disorders associated with HEV infection. We focused on the in vivo and in vitro models as a tool for elucidating the HEV infection beyond the liver and studying the mechanisms of HEV induced tissue damages.
    The prevalence and pathophysiological background of type2 diabetes mellitus vary across ethnicities, and can affect treatment responses. Adding lixisenatide to basal insulin (BI) in type2 diabetes mellitus patients has shown improvements in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and postprandial glycemic (PPG) excursions, without increasing hypoglycemic events. We aim to compare the efficacy of lixisenatide in Asian and white patients inadequately controlled with basal insulin.

    An individual-level pooled analysis of two multi-national phaseIII studies, GetGoal-L and GetGoal-L-C, was carried out to assess the efficacy of lixisenatide versus placebo as an add-on treatment to BI±metformin in Asian and white patients with type2 diabetes mellitus. Change in HbA1c, 2-h PPG and PPG excursion were analyzed, along with possible predictors of glycemic control.

Results showed the predominance of HCH and its isomers in the fruits and vegetables as compared with the DDTs. The most predominant HCHs in all the fruits was α-HCH with mean concentrations of 2.704 ± 2.488 mg kg-1 (carrot), 1.536 ± 1.036 mg kg-1 (cucumber), 6.814 ± 2.967 mg kg-1 (tomato), and 9.241 ± 2.735 mg kg-1 (watermelon). A deterioration in the water quality was witnessed at ~69% sampling locations during the lockdown period (May 2020). Interestingly, none of the water samples during the pre-lockdown, lockdown, and post-lockdown periods across the whole stretch belonged to the "excellent" category (WQI less then 25). The DO levels fell across ~69% and ~88% of the sites during the lockdown and post-lockdown periods, respectively. Moreover, there was an increase in the BOD5 levels across ~69% and 75% of the sites during lockdown and post-lockdown periods, respectively. These findings indicate that the release of sewage without or with partial treatment is a chief contributor of water pollution in the groundwater fed River Gomti. Thereby, highlighting the possible risk of faecal-oral transmission of the corona virus, and creating a major concern for the residents across its stretch.   • Simulation training is an essential criterion for medical staff. The majority of residents are trained in operating room crisis management (ORCM), but only a few pre-clinical anesthesia undergraduate students are trained. Anesthesia methodology and technology were studied by the anesthesia undergraduate students in theory, but they were not able to practically resolve all clinical problems scientifically and reasonably. Consequently, there is a need to apply their competencies and bring together their technology knowledge practically. The crisis management of operating room emergencies was a method of choice applied and used over time. Here, we designed the scenarios for comprehensive crisis management to train anesthesia undergraduate students. We tried to establish or identify the problems which occurred during attempts to implement these scenarios.

    Anesthesia undergraduate students initially examined the basic theory, fundamental practice techniques, and case studies before the simulation training prog nontechnical skills, integrating the knowledge and technology of the field of anesthesiology.
    This research indicates that ORCM could be implemented as a useful learning tool for pre-clinical anesthesia undergraduate students.     Vesicular stomatitis (VS) is an acute, highly contagious and economically important zoonotic disease caused by the vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). There is a need for effective and safe stable recombinant vaccine for the control of the disease. The human type 5 replication-defective adenovirus expression vector is a good way to construct recombinant vaccines.

    Three recombinant adenoviruses (rAd) were successfully constructed that expressed the VSV Indiana serotype glycoprotein (VSV-IN-G), VSV New Jersey serotype glycoprotein (VSV-NJ-G), and the G fusion protein (both serotypes of G [VSV-IN-G-NJ-G]) with potentiality to induce protective immunity. G proteins were successfully expressed with good immunogenicity. The rAds could induce the production of VSV antibodies in ****, and VSV neutralizing antibodies in goats, respectively. The neutralizing antibody titers could reach 132 in **** and 164 in goats. The rAds induced strong lymphocyte proliferation in **** and goats, which was significantly higher compared to the negative control groups.

    Studies have revealed inappropriate laboratory testing as a source of waste. This review aimed at evaluating the effects and features of CDSSs on physicians' appropriate laboratory test ordering in inpatient hospitals.

    Medline through PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, and Cochrane were queried without any time period restriction. Studies using CDSSs as an intervention to improve laboratory test ordering as the primary aim were included. The study populations in the included studies were laboratory tests, physicians ordering laboratory tests, or the patients for whom laboratory tests were ordered. The included papers were evaluated for their outcomes related to the effect of CDSSs which were categorized based on the outcomes related to tests, physician, and patients. The primary outcome measures were the number and cost of the ordered laboratory tests. The instrument from The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NIH) was used to assess the quality of the included studies. Moreover, we applied a checklistoutcomes.

We have designed this study to (1) assess the dietary phenotype (food types, physical activity, and dietary habits) of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) WTC-Health Program (WTC-HP) cohort and (2) quantify the association of dietary quality and its advanced glycation end product (AGE) content with the development of WTC-OAD.

    WTC-OAD, defined as developing WTC-Lung Injury (WTC-LI; FEV
     < LLN) and/or airway hyperreactivity (AHR; positive methacholine and/or positive bronchodilator response). Rapid Eating and Activity Assessment for Participants-Short Version (REAP-S) deployed on 3/1/2018 in the WTC-HP annual monitoring assessment. Clinical and REAP-S data of consented subjects was extracted (7/17/2019). Diet quality [low-(15-19), moderate-(20-29), and high-(30-39)] and AGE content per REAP-S questionnaire were assessed for association with WTC-OAD. Regression models adjs successfully implemented in the FDNY WTC-HP monitoring questionnaire and produced valuable dietary phenotyping. Our observational study has identified low dietary quality and AGE abundant dietary habits as risk factors for pulmonary disease in the context of WTC-exposure. Dietary phenotyping, not only focuses our metabolomic/biomarker profiling but also further informs future dietary interventions that may positively impact particulate matter associated lung disease.
    Obesity is associated with insulin resistance (IR) and considered a risk factor for diabetes mellitus (DM) in cats. It has been proposed that homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR), which is the product of fasting serum insulin (mU/L) and glucose (mmol/L) divided by 22.5, can be used to indicate IR. The objectives of this study were threefold (i) to evaluate associations between body fat, fasting insulin, and HOMA-IR, (ii) to determine population-based reference interval of HOMA-IR in healthy lean cats, and (iii) to evaluate biological variation of HOMA-IR and fasting insulin in cats.

    150 cats were grouped as lean or overweight based on body condition score and in 68 of the cats body fat percentage (BF%) was estimated by computed tomography. Fasting serum insulin and glucose concentrations were analysed. Statistical differences in HOMA-IR and insulin between overweight or lean cats were evaluated using Wilcoxon rank-sum test. Vesicular stomatitis (VS) is an acute, highly contagious and economically important zoonotic disease caused by the vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). There is a need for effective and safe stable recombinant vaccine for the control of the disease. The human type 5 replication-defective adenovirus expression vector is a good way to construct recombinant vaccines. Three recombinant adenoviruses (rAd) were successfully constructed that expressed the VSV Indiana serotype glycoprotein (VSV-IN-G), VSV New Jersey serotype glycoprotein (VSV-NJ-G), and the G fusion protein (both serotypes of G [VSV-IN-G-NJ-G]) with potentiality to induce protective immunity. G proteins were successfully expressed with good immunogenicity. The rAds could induce the production of VSV antibodies in mice, and VSV neutralizing antibodies in goats, respectively. This review aimed at evaluating the effects and features of CDSSs on physicians' appropriate laboratory test ordering in inpatient hospitals. Medline through PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, and Cochrane were queried without any time period restriction. Studies using CDSSs as an intervention to improve laboratory test ordering as the primary aim were included. The study populations in the included studies were laboratory tests, physicians ordering laboratory tests, or the patients for whom laboratory tests were ordered. The included papers were evaluated for their outcomes related to the effect of CDSSs which were categorized based on the outcomes related to tests, physician, and patients. The primary outcome measures were the number and cost of the ordered laboratory tests. The objectives of this study were threefold (i) to evaluate associations between body fat, fasting insulin, and HOMA-IR, (ii) to determine population-based reference interval of HOMA-IR in healthy lean cats, and (iii) to evaluate biological variation of HOMA-IR and fasting insulin in cats. 150 cats were grouped as lean or overweight based on body condition score and in 68 of the cats body fat percentage (BF%) was estimated by computed tomography. Fasting serum insulin and glucose concentrations were analysed. Statistical differences in HOMA-IR and insulin between overweight or lean cats were evaluated using Wilcoxon rank-sum test. Robust method with Box-Cox transformation was used for calculating HOMA-IR reference interval in healthy lean cats.

Flupenthixol decanoate is a first-generation antipsychotic, which is readily available in the public healthcare system in South Africa.

    The aim of this study was to describe the nature, occurrence and severity of EPSEs and their impact on patients with FES over 12 months of treatment with flupenthixol decanoate (fluanxol depot).

    The study was based in Cape Town, South Africa, and patients with FES were recruited from inpatient services at Stikland and Tygerberg Hospitals and surrounding psychiatric clinics. This was a sub-study of a larger study, which examined several outcomes in patients with FES treated with the lowest effective dose of flupenthixol decanoate.

    The Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale (ESRS) was used to assess both subjective experience and objective measures of EPSEs in ic drugs and warrant further investigation.

    The survey tool was sent to 470 hospitals and comprised the following items hospital size, occupational health system, infection control practices, mental health services, promotion of work system reforms, and priorities in achieving occupational health.

    A total of 140 hospitals completed the survey. A monthly workplace inspection was conducted in approximately 60% of the hospitals. Testing of new employees for hepatitis and four other viruses was conducted in approximately 65% of the hospitals, and influenza vaccination was administered to the employees in all the hospitals. This study aimed to explore the relationship between serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25(OH)D) level and MAFLD based on a population survey dataset (the third National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys of the United States). Multivariate logistic regression was used to estimate the odds ratio (OR) of serum 25(OH)D level for MAFLD. A total of 12,878 participants were included in this analysis. Among them, 4,027 (31.27%) cases were diagnosed with MAFLD and 8,851 (66.40%) were without MAFLD (non-MAFLD). Patients with vitamin D sufficiency and insufficiency totaled 6,983 (54.22%) and 5,895 (45.78%), respectively. The incidence of MAFLD and the grade of hepatic steatosis were both significantly higher in vitamin D insufficiency group. Multivariate analysis showed that vitamin D insufficiency was an independent risk factor for MAFLD after adjusted for other confounders (OR 1.130, 95%CI 1.035 to 1.234). In MAFLD population, the average serum 25(OH)D level decreased with the numbers of metabolic risks in MAFLD cases. We report a clinically interesting case of a 59-year-old female with adrenocortical adenoma harboring venous thrombus that mimicked adrenal malignancy. She was referred for evaluation of asymptomatic asymmetric lesions on both adrenal glands. Abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed a 4.7-cm-diameter heterogenous lesion with peripheral enhancement in the right adrenal gland and a 2.0-cm-diameter homogenous lesion in the left adrenal gland. Adrenal scintigraphy with 131I-adosterol exhibited marked accumulation in the left lesion and slight accumulation in the middle inferior portion of the right lesion. Endocrine data revealed subclinical Cushing syndrome, and the patient underwent right laparoscopic adrenalectomy. The serum cortisol level was not suppressed on an overnight dexamethasone suppression test after the adrenalectomy. We report a clinically interesting case of a 59-year-old female with adrenocortical adenoma harboring venous thrombus that mimicked adrenal malignancy. She was referred for evaluation of asymptomatic asymmetric lesions on both adrenal glands. Abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed a 4.7-cm-diameter heterogenous lesion with peripheral enhancement in the right adrenal gland and a 2.0-cm-diameter homogenous lesion in the left adrenal gland. Adrenal scintigraphy with 131I-adosterol exhibited marked accumulation in the left lesion and slight accumulation in the middle inferior portion of the right lesion. Endocrine data revealed subclinical Cushing syndrome, and the patient underwent right laparoscopic adrenalectomy. The serum cortisol level was not suppressed on an overnight dexamethasone suppression test after the adrenalectomy. The resected tumor revealed a cortisol-producing adrenocortical adenoma harboring an organized and re-canalized venous thrombus, which was associated with focal papillary endothelial hyperplasia. This case illustrates the difficulty with preoperatively diagnosing this heterogeneously enhanced large benign adrenal lesion and differentiating it from adrenocortical carcinoma or angiosarcoma.Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the most common cause of death in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and dyslipidemia is considered at least partially responsible for the increased CVD risk in NAFLD patients. The aim of the present study is to understand how hepatic de novo lipogenesis influences hepatic cholesterol content as well as its effects on the plasma lipid levels. Hepatic lipogenesis was induced in mice by feeding a fat-free/high-sucrose (FF/HS) diet and the metabolic pathways associated with cholesterol were then analyzed. Both liver triglyceride and cholesterol contents were significantly increased in mice fed an FF/HS diet. Activation of fatty acid synthesis driven by the activation of sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP)-1c resulted in the increased liver triglycerides. The augmented cholesterol content in the liver could not be explained by an increased cholesterol synthesis, which was decreased by the FF/HS diet. HMGCoA reductase protein level was decreased in mice fed an FF/HS diet.

For linear alkane chains, the wall time for density matrix time propagation step is comparable to the Kohn-Sham (KS) matrix construction. However, for larger two- and three-dimensional molecules, with up to about 5,000 basis functions, the computational effort of RT-TDDFT calculations is dominated by the KS matrix evaluation. In addition, the maximum time step is evaluated using a set of small molecules of different polarities. The photoabsorption spectra of several molecular systems calculated using RT-TDDFT are compared to those obtained using linear response time-dependent density functional theory and coupled cluster methods.
    There is a growing recognition of immune-mediated causes in patients with focal drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE); however, they are not systematically assessed in the pre-surgical diagnostic workup. Early diagnosis and initiation of immunotherapy is associated with a favorable outcome in immune-mediated seizures. Patients with refractory focal epilepsy with neuronal antibodies (Abs) tend to have a worse surgical prognosis when compared to other etiologies.

    We studied the prevalence of serum Abs in patients ≥18years of age with DRE of unknown cause before surgery. We proposed and calculated a clinical APES (Antibody Prevalence in Epilepsy before Surgery) score for each subject, which was modified based on Dubey's previously published APE
    score. RESULTS` A total of 335 patients were screened and 86 subjects were included in final analysis. The mean age at the time of recruitment was 44.84±14.86years, with age at seizure onset 30.89±19.88years. There were no significant differences among baseline clinical feamune-mediated causes. We propose an APES score to help identify patients who may benefit from a workup for immune etiologies during the pre-surgical evaluation for focal refractory epilepsy with unknown cause.

    Congenital short-bowel syndrome (CSBS) is a rare disorder characterized by retardation of intestinal development. However, it is still not well recognized at present. In this study, the etiological, clinical, and genetic characteristics of CSBS in China were analyzed.

    Nine infants with CSBS were recruited. Full-thickness biopsy findings were evaluated by histopathology. Whole-exome sequencing was performed to identify mutations in patients and their family members. All patients were followed up at >1 year of age.

    Six of 9 infants had malrotation, and 2 patients had intestinal atresia. The average total small-bowel length was 51.7 (40-75) cm. Coxsackie and adenovirus receptor-like membrane protein (CLMP) mutations were found in 5 patients and were related to decreases in ileal goblet cells and mucous secretion. Among these 5 patients, 3 shared the same mutation (c. 206G>A p.R69H), 1 patient had an exon 3-5 deletion, and 1 patient had the C.655T>G, p.Cys219Gly, and C.389-2A>C. Another case carried a loss-of-function mutation in filamin A (FLNA). In the other 3 patients, no pathogenic mutations in genes related to intestinal development were found. The rate of catheter-related bloodstream infection was 4.3 per 1000 catheter days, and intestinal failure-associated liver disease (IFALD) was 77.8%. The median follow-up duration was 24.1 months. Eight patients were weaned off parenteral nutrition (PN). Six patients still exhibited malnutrition during follow-up.

    This pilot trial aimed to assess the feasibility, acceptability, treatment-satisfaction, and preliminary efficacy of Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions adapted for avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (SPACE-ARFID). SPACE-ARFID is a novel outpatient parent-based treatment that focuses on parental responses to child problematic eating habits and aims to promote food-related flexibility.

    Parents of 15 children (ages 6-14 years) with ARFID participated in 12 weekly sessions of SPACE-ARFID. Feasibility and acceptability were assessed by calculating enrollment, attendance, attrition, and adverse events. Treatment-satisfaction was assessed with the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ-8), administered posttreatment. ARFID symptom severity and impairment and family accommodation were assessed at baseline and posttreatment.

    Of 17 eligible families, 15 (88.24%) elected to participate in the trial. Of the 15 participating families, all except for 1 (6.67%) completed all 12 weekly treatment sessions.
