This review article discussed the mechanism of roflumilast, macrolide antibiotics, other chronic antibiotic regimens, vitamin D supplementation, oral corticosteroids, n-acetylcysteine, and nebulized hypertonic saline, the clinical data behind each of these therapies, adverse events associated with therapy, and the expert recommendations for their utilization. Our goal is to provide a brief but informative and clinically useful review of commonly encountered therapies used in advanced COPD.No well-established prognostic or predictive molecular markers of small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) are currently available; therefore, all patients receive standard treatment. Adequate quantities and quality of tissue samples are frequently unavailable to perform a molecular analysis of SCLC, which appears more heterogeneous and dynamic than expected. The implementation of techniques to study circulating tumor cells could offer a suitable alternative to expand the knowledge of the molecular basis of a tumor. In this context, the advantage of SCLC circulating cells to express some specific markers to be explored in blood as circulating transcripts could offer a great opportunity in distinguishing and managing different SCLC phenotypes. Here, we present a summary of published data and new findings about the detection methods and potential application of a group of neuroendocrine related transcripts in the peripheral blood of SCLC patients. In the era of new treatments, easy and rapid detection of informative biomarkers in blood warrants further investigation, since it represents an important option to obtain essential information for disease monitoring and/or better treatment choices.Step counts and oxygen consumption have yet to be reported during the 2-min walk test (2MWT) test in persons with lower-limb amputations (LLA). While there were no significant differences in distance walked, oxygen consumption (VO2) or heart rate (HR) between sexes or level of amputation (p > 0.05), females took significantly more steps than males (p = 0.034), and those with unilateral transfemoral amputations took significantly fewer steps than those with unilateral transtibial amputations (p = 0.023). In this review, we elucidate the genetic basis of acquired resistance to BTK and Bcl-2 inhibition and present evidence on resistance mechanisms that are not linked to single genomic alterations affecting these target proteins. Strategies to prevent resistance to novel agents are discussed in this review with a special focus on new combination therapies.The attainment of health system goals is largely hinged on the health workforce availability and performance; hence, health workforce planning is central to the health policy agenda. This study sought to estimate health service activity standards and standard workloads at the primary health care level in Ghana and explore any differences across health facility types. A nationally representative cross-sectional survey was conducted among 503 health professionals across eight health professions who provided estimates of health service activity standards in Ghana's Primary Health Care (PHC) settings. Outpatient consultation time was 16 min, translating into an annual standard workload of 6030 consultations per year for General Practitioners. Routine nursing care activities take an average of 40 min (95% CI 38-42 min) for low acuity patients; and 135 min (95% CI 127-144 min) for high dependency patients per inpatient day. Availability of tools/equipment correlated with reduced time on clinical procedure. Physiciaprofessions education and the budgetary allocation for their employment. Finally, given similarity in results with Workload Indicators of Staffing Need (WISN) methodology used in Ghana, this study demonstrates that cross-sectional surveys can estimate health service activity standards that is suitable for health workforce planning just as the consensus-based estimates advocated in WISN.

Poly (ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether (P) plasticizer was used to improve the filler-matrix interaction and its dispersion; nevertheless, it adversely affected the intensity of the luminescence emissions.The genes influencing cancer patient mortality have been studied by survival analysis for many years. However, most studies utilized them only to support their findings associated with patient prognosis their roles in carcinogenesis have not yet been revealed. Herein, we applied an in silico approach, integrating the Cox regression model with effect size estimated by the Monte Carlo algorithm, to screen survival-influential genes in more than 6000 tumor samples across 16 cancer types. We observed that the survival-influential genes had cancer-dependent properties. Moreover, the functional modules formed by the harmful genes were consistently associated with cell cycle in 12 out of the 16 cancer types and pan-cancer, showing that dysregulation of the cell cycle could harm patient prognosis in cancer. The functional modules formed by the protective genes are more diverse in cancers; the most prevalent functions are relevant for immune response, implying that patients with different cancer types might develop different mechanisms against carcinogenesis. We also identified a harmful set of 10 genes, with potential as prognostic biomarkers in pan-cancer. Briefly, our results demonstrated that the survival-influential genes could reveal underlying mechanisms in carcinogenesis and might provide clues for developing therapeutic targets for cancers.Wastewater surveillance for the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is an emerging approach to help identify the risk of a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. This tool can contribute to public health surveillance at both community (wastewater treatment system) and institutional (e.g., colleges, prisons, and nursing homes) scales. This paper explores the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from initial wastewater surveillance efforts at colleges and university systems to inform future research, development and implementation. We present the experiences of 25 college and university systems in the United States that monitored campus wastewater for SARS-CoV-2 during the fall 2020 academic period. We describe the broad range of approaches, findings, resources, and impacts from these initial efforts. These institutions range in size, social and political geographies, and include both public and private institutions. Our analysis suggests that wastewater monitoring at colleges requires consideration of local information needs, sewage infrastructure, resources for sampling and analysis, college and community dynamics, approaches to interpretation and communication of results, and follow-up actions. Most colleges reported that a learning process of experimentation, evaluation, and adaptation was key to progress. This process requires ongoing collaboration among diverse stakeholders including decision-makers, researchers, faculty, facilities staff, students, and community members.The electrochemical machining (ECM) of 42CrMo4 steel in sodium nitrate solution is mechanistically characterized by transpassive material dissolution and the formation of a Fe3-xO4 mixed oxide at the surface. It is assumed that the efficiency of material removal during ECM depends on the structure and composition of this oxide layer as well as on the microstructure of the material. Therefore, 42CrMo4 in different microstructures (ferritic-pearlitic and martensitic) was subjected to two ECM processes with current densities of about 20 A/cm2 and 34 A/cm2, respectively. The composition of the process electrolyte was analyzed via mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma in order to obtain information on the efficiency of material removal and the reaction mechanisms. This was followed by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis to detect the chemical composition and the binding states of chemical elements in the oxide formed during ECM. In summary, it has been demonstrated that the efficiency of material removal in both ECM processes is about 5-10% higher for martensitic 42CrMo4 than for ferritic-pearlitic 42CrMo4. This is on one hand attributed to the presence of the cementite phase at ferritic-pearlitic 42CrMo4, which promotes oxygen evolution and therefore has a negative effect on the material removal efficiency. To account for imperfect detection of positive carcasses, we adjusted spatial zero-inflated Poisson regression mods. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with a number of noncommunicable conditions. We conducted a randomised controlled trial to determine the effect of vitamin D supplementation on serum uric acid concentration in patients with prediabetes, in whom hyperuricaemia is common.
Seventy-one volunteers (35-80years), with impaired fasting glucose and/or impaired glucose tolerance were randomised to three groups, vitamin D
, vitamin D
and control, and followed for 12months.
After 12weeks, vitamin D supplementation was associated with a reduction in serum uric acid concentration in participants with baseline uric acid concentration>6mg/dL, but no significant change was observed in controls. We then assessed the dose-response relationship between vitamin D supplementation and the change in serum uric acid concentration and found that the change in serum total 25-hydroxyvitamin D did not correlate with the change in serum uric acid that occurred during vitamin D supplementation. The factors associated with larger reductions in serum uric acid were a higher baseline serum uric acid and a larger increase in serum 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D.

Limitations in access to specialty diabetes care exist. Endocrinology eConsult that integrates professional continuous glucose monitoring (CGM-enhanced eConsult) may improve healthcare delivery, but has yet to be evaluated. We implemented a pilot program for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) managed by primary care clinical pharmacists using CGM-enhanced eConsult and evaluated the acceptability and clinical outcomes in comparison to routine in-person endocrinology consultation.
Seventy-four adult patients with established T2DM (age 18-65) were included. Twenty-nine were seen in-person by endocrinology and 45 were seen by pharmacists in primary care. Thirteen patients were referred for CGM-enhanced eConsult. Acceptability was assessed with pre/post clinician acceptability questionnaires and patient assessment of perceived burden. Clinical outcomes included time to first specialty appointment, baseline and 3-month follow-up HbA1c, and antihyperglycemic medication use.

Anthropomorphic phantoms corresponding to 1, 5 and 10-year olds were sent to 50 CT scanners around Scotland. Head and chest examinations were undertaken by local staff using local techniques on each scanner with each phantom, and details of the protocols used were recorded. CTDIvol and DLP were recorded post-scan.
There is a significant variation in performance throughout Scotland. For head examinations, the highest DLP is 13 times the lowest for an equivalent sized phantom. For chest examinations, the highest is 128 times the lowest for an equivalent sized phantom.
The wide range of CT dose measurements indicates the potential for variation in image quality across Scotland. Feedback has been provided to all participating sites on their individual results compared to the national data set. Specific feedback was provided where relevant on potential considerations for optimisation. Since the pronounced random nature of echoes from natural targets such as foliage has not been reflected in these experiments, we have collected a large number (>55 000) of foliage echoes outdoors with a sonar head that mimics the dynamic periphery in bats. The echo data was processed with a custom auditory processing model to create spike-based echo representations. Deep-learning classifiers were able to estimate the dynamic state of the periphery, i.e., static or dynamic, based on single echoes with accuracies of up to 80%. This suggests that the effects of the peripheral dynamics are present in the bat brains and could hence be used by the animals. The best classification performances were obtained for data obtained within a spatially confined area. Hence, if the bat brains suffer from the same generalization issues, they would have to have a way to adapt their neural echo processing to such local fluctuations to exploit the dynamic effects successfully.In this study, a new ATCM phantom was developed to test the performance of the automatic tube current modulation (ATCM) of computed tomography (CT) scanners.. Test experiments showed that the phantom could initiate tube current modulation under different modulation levels of CT scans, and the actual effects of ATCM could be evaluated with the aid of the dose profile measurements. Using the measured dose profiles and image noise, the preferred dose can easily be identified from a choice of different modulation levels. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of local application of parathyroid hormone (PTH) or parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) on osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis during orthodontic tooth movement (OTM).
Periodontal bone remodeling is the crucial biological process in the OTM that involves both bone resorption and formation, with the former more important as the initiator. PTH or PTHrP both play dual roles in bone remodeling regulation, and the balance may shift to the bone resorption side when they are given continuously, suggesting them as potential candidate medicine for OTM acceleration.
A total of 40 rats underwent orthodontic mesialization of the maxillary first molars and received no micro-perforation (MOP), or MOP followed by injection of temperature-sensitive hydrogel containing PTH, PTHrP, or normal saline. The rats were sacrificed after 2-week OTM, except for the relapse groups, which had one more week of observation after removal of the force appliances. The amount of tooth mov PECE hydrogel similarly enhances OTM in rats through regulating periodontal bone remodeling, which deserves further study for potential clinical application.The hypothesis that response strength might be measured by persistence of responding in the face of extinction was discredited in the 1960s because experiments showed that responding persists longer following intermittent reinforcers than following continuous reinforcers. We suggest that the difference in results arises because the multiple-schedule procedure, while including extensive training on stimulus discrimination, includes no training on discrimination between food available and food unavailable, whereas comparable single- and concurrent-schedule procedures include such training with repeated extinction. In Experiment 1, we replicated the original result, and in Experiment 2 showed that when the multiple-schedule procedure includes training on food/no-food discrimination, extinction following multiple schedules contradicts behavioral momentum theory and agrees with the discrimination theory and research with single and concurrent schedules.
Nutritional modulations may be considered a strategy to protect mental health. Neuronal homeostasis is highly dependent on the availability of glucose, which represents the primary energy source for the brain. In this study, we evaluated the effects of walnut intake and fructose-rich diet on the expression of glucose transporters (GLUTs) in two rat brain regions hypothalamus and hippocampus.
Our results show that walnut supplementation of fructose-fed animals restored the hypothalamic content of GLUT1 and GLUT3 protein. Furthermore, walnut intake did not affect increased hypothalamic GLUT2 content upon fructose consumption. These effects were accompanied by distinctive alterations of hippocampal GLUTs levels. Specifically, walnut intake increased GLUT1 content, whereas GLUT2 protein was decreased within the rat hippocampus after both individual and combined treatments.
Overall, our study suggests that walnut supplementation exerted modulatory effects on the glucose transporters within specific brain regions in the presence of developed metabolic disorder. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry.

The ideal strategy in the treatment of mucosal melanoma of the head and neck (MMHN) remains unclear. Our objective was to evaluate the importance of surgical margins, radiotherapy, and systemic therapy in MMHN.
Retrospective Single Institutional Review.
Retrospective review of patients with MMHN treated at a tertiary care oncology center between 1999 and 2016.
Seventy-six patients were included, 60 of whom were treated with curative intent. Negative or close margins compared with positive margins were associated with higher 3-year overall survival (OS) (62% vs. 29% vs. 13% P = .012), disease-free survival (33% vs. 29% vs. 4% P = .003), and distant control (48% vs. 29% vs. 22% P = .039). Cases with pre-/postoperative radiotherapy had a marginally higher locoregional control versus without (69% vs. 59%, P = .117). Immunotherapy for recurrent and/or metastatic disease was associated with an increase in 3-year OS (15% vs. 3% P = .01).
Achieving negative surgical margins is relevant in disease control. Despite small sample size, our data suggest that radiotherapy may enhance surgical outcomes. Immunotherapy has therapeutic benefit.

The goal of this study was to transition our electrochemical scaffold into an H2 O2 -generating electrochemical bandage (e-bandage) that can be used in vivo. The developed e-bandage uses a xanthan gum-based hydrogel to maintain electrolytic conductivity between e-bandage electrodes and biofilms. We suggest that the difference in results arises because the multiple-schedule procedure, while including extensive training on stimulus discrimination, includes no training on discrimination between food available and food unavailable, whereas comparable single- and concurrent-schedule procedures include such training with repeated extinction. In Experiment 1, we replicated the original result, and in Experiment 2 showed that when the multiple-schedule procedure includes training on food/no-food discrimination, extinction following multiple schedules contradicts behavioral momentum theory and agrees with the discrimination theory and research with single and concurrent schedules. Nutritional modulations may be considered a strategy to protect mental health. Neuronal homeostasis is highly dependent on the availability of glucose, which represents the primary energy source for the brain. In this study, we evaluated the effects of walnut intake and fructose-rich diet on the expression of glucose transporters (GLUTs) in two rat brain regions hypothalamus and hippocampus. Our results show that walnut supplementation of fructose-fed animals restored the hypothalamic content of GLUT1 and GLUT3 protein. Furthermore, walnut intake did not affect increased hypothalamic GLUT2 content upon fructose consumption. These effects were accompanied by distinctive alterations of hippocampal GLUTs levels. Specifically, walnut intake increased GLUT1 content, whereas GLUT2 protein was decreased within the rat hippocampus after both individual and combined treatments. The ideal strategy in the treatment of mucosal melanoma of the head and neck (MMHN) remains unclear. Our objective was to evaluate the importance of surgical margins, radiotherapy, and systemic therapy in MMHN. Retrospective Single Institutional Review. Retrospective review of patients with MMHN treated at a tertiary care oncology center between 1999 and 2016. Seventy-six patients were included, 60 of whom were treated with curative intent. Negative or close margins compared with positive margins were associated with higher 3-year overall survival (OS) (62% vs. 29% vs. 13% P = .012), disease-free survival (33% vs. 29% vs. 4% P = .003), and distant control (48% vs. 29% vs. 22% P = .039). Cases with pre-/postoperative radiotherapy had a marginally higher locoregional control versus without (69% vs. 59%, P = .117). Immunotherapy for recurrent and/or metastatic disease was associated with an increase in 3-year OS (15% vs. 3% P = .01). Achieving negative surgical margins is relevant in disease control. Despite small sample size, our data suggest that radiotherapy may enhance surgical outcomes. We previously developed an electrochemical scaffold that generates hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2 ) at low concentrations in the vicinity of biofilms. The goal of this study was to transition our electrochemical scaffold into an H2 O2 -generating electrochemical bandage (e-bandage) that can be used in vivo. The developed e-bandage uses a xanthan gum-based hydrogel to maintain electrolytic conductivity between e-bandage electrodes and biofilms. The e-bandage is controlled using a lightweight, battery-powered wearable potentiostat suitable for use in animal experiments. Thanks to its irreversible type of inhibition, PBRM retained its anti-tumor growth effect, even after reducing its frequency of administration to only once a week, a clear advantage over reversible inhibitors.The photoplethysmographic (PPG) signal is an unobtrusive blood pulsewave measure that has recently gained popularity in the context of the Internet of Things. Even though it is commonly used for heart rate detection, it has been lately employed on multimodal health and wellness monitoring applications. Unfortunately, this signal is prone to motion artifacts, making it almost useless in all situations where a person is not entirely at rest. To overcome this issue, we propose SPARE, a spectral peak recovery algorithm for PPG signals pulsewave reconstruction. Our solution exploits the local semiperiodicity of the pulsewave signal, together with the information about the cardiac rhythm provided by an available simultaneous ECG, to reconstruct its full waveform, even when affected by strong artifacts. The developed algorithm builds on state-of-the-art signal decomposition methods, and integrates novel techniques for signal reconstruction. Experimental results are reported both in the case of PPG signals acquired during physical activity and at rest, but corrupted in a systematic way by synthetic noise. The full PPG waveform reconstruction enables the identification of several health-related features from the signal, showing an improvement of up to 65% in the detection of different biomarkers from PPG signals affected by noise.Ion-pair comonomers (IPCs) where both the anion and cation contain polymerizable functional groups offer a route to prepare polyampholyte, ion-containing polymers. Rheological measurements were used to characterize the thermomechanical behavior and Tg of different copolymers. The Tg variation in the polyelectrolyte vs. weight fraction IPC could be fit with either the Gordon-Taylor or Couchman-Karasz equation. Results indicate the existence of spatial dependence, suggesting that the occurrence of HPAI in a county is significantly influenced by neighboring counties. We found that larger size poultry, including laying hens, breeders, and ducks are significantly associated with a greater incidence of HPAI. Among poultry, we found ducks as the greatest source of the spread of HPAI. The CT images showed isolated fractures of trabecular bone, or fractures involving both cortical and trabecular bone. Results from the compressive force measurements in conjunction with a survival analysis demonstrated that the compressive force corresponding to fracture increased inferiorly as a function of lumbar spinal level. The axial rigidity (EA) measured at the mid-plane of the centre vertebra or the volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD) of the vertebral body trabecular bone most greatly influenced fracture risk. By including these covariates in the fracture risk curves, no other variables significantly affected fracture risk, including the lumbar spinal level. The fracture risk curves presented in this study may be used to assess the risk of injury at individual lumbar vertebra when exposed to dynamic axial compression.Traditional froth flotation is the primary method for the separation and upgrading of fine mineral particles. Due to their unique physical and chemical properties, the application of nanobubbles (NBs) in ore flotation and other fields has been widely investigated as an important means to solve the problems of fine particle separation. Therefore, a fundamental understanding of the effect of NBs on flotation is a prerequisite to adapt it for the treatment of fine and low-quality minerals for separation. In this paper, recent advances in the field of nanobubble (NB) formation, preparation and stability are reviewed. In particular, we highlight the latest progress in the role of NBs on particles flotation and focus in particular on the particle-particle and particle-bubble interaction. A discussion of the current knowledge gap and future directions is provided.Recent data indicate a resurgence of stimulant use and harms in the United States; thus, there is a need to identify risk factors to inform development of effective prevention strategies. Prior research suggests adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are common among individuals using stimulants and may be an important target for prevention. National Epidemiological Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions was used to estimate prevalence of ACEs among U.S. adults using amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS), cocaine, or both. Multivariable logistic regression examined associations between ACEs and stimulant use and use disorders. Among adults reporting lifetime ATS use, 22.1% had ≥4 ACEs, 24.9% had 2-3 ACEs, 22.4% had 1 ACE, 30.6% reported no ACEs. Among adults with lifetime ATS use disorder, 29.3% reported ≥4 ACEs, 28.7% reported 2-3 ACEs, 21.6% reported 1 ACE, and 20.4% reported no ACEs. Multivariable logistic regression found a significant relationship between number of ACEs and stimulant use and use disorders. In conclusion, we found a strong relationship between increasing ACE exposures and stimulant use and use disorders. Advancing comprehensive strategies to prevent ACEs and treating underlying trauma among those using stimulants holds great promise to reduce stimulant use and its health and social consequences in the United States.Patient handling related musculoskeletal injuries are prevalent among Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers. Fifteen participants raised a simulated patient, with the help of an assistant, using the strap method and a traditional method (grasping the shoulders) in an open area, a restricted space, and in a bathtub. Torso postures improved in all location conditions when using the strap. The muscle activation data showed mixed results. While EMG responses from the latissimus dorsi muscles were reduced, EMG activity of the erector spinae muscles increased when the strap was used. Large-scale cancer omics studies have highlighted the diversity of patient molecular profiles and the importance of leveraging this information to deliver the right drug to the right patient at the right time. Key challenges in learning predictive models for this include the high-dimensionality of omics data and heterogeneity in biological and clinical factors affecting patient response. The use of multi-task learning techniques has been widely explored to address dataset limitations for in vitro drug response models, while domain adaptation (DA) has been employed to extend them to predict in vivo response. In both of these transfer learning settings, noisy data for some tasks (or domains) can substantially reduce the performance for others compared to single-task (domain) learners, i.e. lead to negative transfer (NT).
We describe a novel multi-task unsupervised DA method (TUGDA) that addresses these limitations in a unified framework by quantifying uncertainty in predictors and weighting their influence on shared feature representations. TUGDA's ability to rely more on predictors with low-uncertainty allowed it to notably reduce cases of NT for in vitro models (94% overall) compared to state-of-the-art methods. For DA to in vivo settings, TUGDA improved over previous methods for patient-derived xenografts (9 out of 14 drugs) as well as patient datasets (significant associations in 9 out of 22 drugs). TUGDA's ability to avoid NT thus provides a key capability as we try to integrate diverse drug-response datasets to build consistent predictive models with in vivo utility.

This study aimed to explore the flow dynamics factors affecting turbulence formation in the false lumen (FL) of aortic dissection using four-dimensional flow magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI). This study also aimed to uncover risk factors affecting late complications of aortic dissection.
Thirty-three aortic dissection patients were examined using 4D flow MRI for quantitative flow dynamics (gross flow, velocity and regurgitant fraction) and turbulence visualization (helix and vortex with three-point visual grading) in the FL. The incidence of late complications (rupture or prophylactic intervention) was also obtained prospectively.
The helix grade was correlated with FL gross flow (rS = 0.55, P < 0.001) and FL velocity (rS = 0.45, P = 0.008). The vortex grade was also correlated with FL gross flow (rS = 0.70, P < 0.001) and FL velocity (rS = 0.67, P < 0.001). Comparative analysis of patients with complications and stable patients revealed that patients with complications exhibited higher FL gross flow [41.7 (interquartile range, IQR 29.1-59.7) vs 17.7 (IQR 9.0-42.0) ml/s; P = 0.01], higher helix grade [2 (IQR 1.25-2) vs 0 (IQR 0-1); P = 0.001] and higher vortex grade [2 (IQR 1-2) vs 0 (IQR 0-2); P = 0.01].
Using 4D flow MRI analysis, we showed that turbulence formation depends on flow volume and velocity in the FL. Patients with high-volume turbulent flow in their FL are at higher risk of late complications; therefore, close follow-up and aggressive prophylactic intervention may improve their survival.

Studies integrating development and metabolism require a genetic modification induced by a neonatal tamoxifen administration. Here, we investigate the effects of a neonatal tamoxifen administration on energy homeostasis in adult male and female C57BL/6J ****. C57BL/6J male and female mouse pups received a single injection of tamoxifen 1 day after birth (NTT) and were fed a high-fat/high-sucrose diet at 6 weeks of age. We measured weight, body composition, glucose and insulin tolerance, basal metabolism, and tibia length and weight in adult ****. The neonatal tamoxifen administration exerted long-term, sex-dependent effects on energy homeostasis. NTT female **** became overweight and developed impaired glucose control in comparison to vehicle-treated littermates. NTT females exhibited 60% increased fat mass, increased food intake, decreased physical activity and energy expenditure, impaired glucose and insulin tolerance, and fasting hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia. Vaccination is the most effective means of controlling infectious disease-related morbidity and mortality. However, due to low immunogenicity of viral antigens, nanomedicine as a new opportunity in new generation of vaccine advancement attracted researcher encouragement. Virosome is a lipidic nanomaterial emerging as FDA approved nanocarriers with promising bioinspiration and biomimetic potency against viral infections. Virosome surface modification with critical viral fusion proteins is the cornerstone of vaccine development. We searched Scopus, Medline, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, and PubMed databases for randomized controlled trials that had evaluated robot use in the therapy of people with autism, to see how effective social robots have been incorporated in autism care. Out of 240 papers initially identified, 19 satisfied the inclusion criteria and were fully evaluated. Overall, 10 different robots were utilized in the trials, out of which, four were non-humanoids. The number of papers with positive results for using robots on the main and secondary parameters was 11 and 5, respectively. Three papers reported that robot groups did not achieve better results than others. Robots in the papers included here were mainly added as the "entertainment agent" to elicit greater engagement from the participants, which is understandable, as robots at this stage might not be ready yet to deliver high-end care.
