This paper reviews the diversity of SRB, methanogens, Nitrogen Reducing Bacteria (NRB), and fermentative bacteria present in oil reservoirs. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between individual resilience and several occupational health indicators, as well as exploring the moderating role of organizational resilience and sociodemographic attributes on this relationship.

    A cross-sectional design was used with a questionnaire applied to a sample of 325 workers from the Spanish health care sector.

    Individual resilience was significantly associated with the indicators of occupational health. A direct effect of individual resilience on job satisfaction was found. The influence of resilience on the perception of fatigue and suffering from an illness was reverse. Age moderated the impact of resilience on the perception of stress and medical leave. Besides, organizational resilience proved to be an important adjustment variable in job satisfaction and perception of stress.

However, the understanding of the underlying biological mechanisms that may explain the relationship between exposure to bullying and such negative health outcomes is scarce. As cropping environments become more hostile and unpredictable due to the effects of climate change, the need to characterise variability across spatial and temporal scales will become increasingly important. The sensor technologies that have enabled HTP from macroscopic through to satellite sensors may also be utilised here to complement spatial characterisation using envirotyping, which can improve estimations of genotypic performance across environments by better accounting for variation at the plot, trial and inter-trial levels. Climate change is leading to increased variation at all physical and temporal scales in the cropping environment. Maintaining yield stability under circumstances with greater levels of abiotic stress while capitalising upon yield potential in good years, requires approaches to plant breeding that target the physiological limitations to crop performance in specific environments.

    The beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic presented many sudden challenges regarding food, including grocery shopping changes (eg, reduced store hours, capacity restrictions, and empty store shelves due to food hoarding), restaurant closures, the need to cook more at home, and closures of food access programs. Eat Well Saskatchewan (EWS) implemented a 16-week social media campaign, #eatwellcovid19, led by a dietitian and nutrition student that focused on sharing stories submitted by the Saskatchewan public about how they were eating healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The goal of this study was to describe the implementation of the #eatwellcovid19 social media campaign and the results from the evaluation of the campaign, which included campaign performance using social media metrics and experiences and perspectives of campaign followers.

    Residents of Saskatchewan, Canada, were invited to submit personal stories and experiences to EWS about how they were eating healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic from Aped by others looking to develop health promotion campaigns.
    Numerous stories were submitted to the #eatwellcovid19 social media campaign on various topics. On Instagram and Facebook, posts that featured these stories had the highest engagement. During this campaign, EWS's social media following increased by more than 10% on each platform. The approach used for the #eatwellcovid19 campaign could be considered by others looking to develop health promotion campaigns.
    Anxiety and depressive disorders are the most common mental health conditions among African American women (AAW). Despite the need for mental health care, AAW significantly underutilize mental health services. Past mHealth studies revealed significant improvement in anxiety or depressive symptoms post-intervention. Use of mobile applications (apps) has the potential to eliminate or mitigate barriers for AAW seeking to access mental health services and resources.

    This study aimed to evaluate the usability of the prototype of an app designed to support self-management of anxiety and depression in AAW.

    Individual usability testing sessions were conducted with 15 participants in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Cognitive walkthrough and a think-aloud protocol were used to evaluate the user interface. Eye tracking glasses were used to record participants' visual focus and gaze path as they performed tasks. The Questionnaire for User Interface Satisfaction was administered following each session to assess particiapp tailored to support management of anxiety and depression for AAW, an underserved group. Since AAW have high rates of smartphone ownership, there is a great opportunity to use mobile technology to provide access to needed mental health services and resources. Future work will include incorporating feedback from the usability testing and focus group sessions to refine and further develop the app. The updated app will undergo iterative usability testing prior to launching the pilot study to assess efficacy.

In this article, we propose a novel loss function based on the optimal transport theory for the LDL-based age estimation. A ground metric function plays an important role in the optimal transport formulation. It should be carefully determined based on the underlying geometric structure of the label space of the application in-hand. The label space in the age estimation problem has a specific geometric structure, that is, closer ages have more inherent semantic relationships. Inspired by this, we devise a novel ground metric function, which enables the loss function to increase the influence of highly correlated ages; thus exploiting the semantic similarity among ages more effectively than the existing loss functions. We then use the proposed loss function, namely, ɣ-Wasserstein loss, for training a deep neural network (DNN). This leads to a notoriously computationally expensive and nonconvex optimization problem. Following the standard methodology, we formulate the optimization function as a convex problem and then use an efficient iterative algorithm to update the parameters of the DNN. Extensive experiments in age estimation on different benchmark datasets validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, which consistently outperforms state-of-the-art approaches.This article investigates finite-time stabilization of competitive neural networks with discrete time-varying delays (DCNNs).     Left ventricular assist devices require a psychosocial assessment to determine candidacy despite limited data correlating with outcome. Our objective is to determine whether the Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplant, a tool validated for transplant and widely used by left ventricular assist device programs, predicts left ventricular assist device program hospital readmissions and death.

    We performed a retrospective analysis of adults at the Cleveland Clinic with Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplant scores before primary left ventricular assist device program implantation from April 1, 2013, to December 31, 2018. The primary outcome was unplanned hospital readmissions censored at death, transplantation, and transfer of care. The secondary outcome was death.

    There were 263 patients in the left ventricular assist device program with a median (Q1, Q3) Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplant score of 16 (8, 28). Patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy (97%) or hormonal therapies (100%) demonstrated high seroconversion post vaccination. Relatively lower IgG titers were observed following vaccination with the adenoviral than with mRNA-based vaccines. We observed weak neutralizing activity elicited in SARS-CoV-2 naive individuals but strong anti-receptor binding domain and spike antibodies with Fc-mediated effector functions and cellular CD4+ T cell responses. In previously infected individuals, a single dose boosted all humoral and T cell responses, with strong correlations between T helper and antibody immunity. Our results highlight the potential role of Fc-mediated effector functions and T cell responses in vaccine efficacy. They also provide support for spacing doses to vaccinate more individuals in conditions of vaccine scarcity.

    We investigated the detection rate of clinically significant chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) results in pregnancies with sonographic diagnosis of fetal corpus callosum anomalies (CCA) or posterior fossa anomalies (PFA).

    All CMA tests in pregnancies with CCA or PFA performed between January 2015 and June 2020 were retrospectively evaluated from the Israeli Ministry of Health database. The rate of CMA with clinically significant (pathogenic or likely pathogenic) findings was calculated and compared to a local Israeli cohort of 5,541 pregnancies with normal ultrasound.

    One hundred eighty-two pregnancies were enrolled 102 cases with CCA and 89 with PFA (9 cases had both). Clinically significant CMA results were found in 7/102 of CCA (6.9%) and in 7/89 of PFA (7.9%) cases. The CMA detection rate in pregnancies with isolated CCA (2/57, 3.5%) or PFA (2/50, 4.0%) was lower than in nonisolated cases, including additional CNS and/or extra-CNS sonographic anomalies (CCA-5/45, 11.1%; PFA-5/39, 12.8%), but this was not statistically significant. However, the rate among pregnancies that had extra-CNS anomalies, with or without additional CNS involvement (CCA-5/24, 20.8%; PFA-5/29, 17.2%), was significantly higher compared to all other cases (
    = 0.0075 for CCA;
    = 0.035 for PFA). Risk of CMA with clinically significant results for all and nonisolated CCA or PFA pregnancies was higher compared to the background risk reported in the control cohort (
    < 0.001), but was not significant for isolated cases.

    Our findings suggest that CMA testing is beneficial for the genetic workup of pregnancies with CCA or PFA, and is probably most informative when additional extra-CNS anomalies are observed.

    Current approaches to teaching diagnostic reasoning minimally address the need for deliberate practice. We developed an educational conference for internal medicine residents to practice diagnostic reasoning and examine how biases affect their differential diagnoses through cognitive autopsies.

    We formatted the Virtual Interactive Case-Based Education (VICE) conference as a clinical problem-solving exercise, in which a facilitator presents a case to a single discussant selected from the audience. We delivered VICE on an internet-based conferencing platform with screen-sharing capability over approximately 30 minutes. To maximize learners' psychological safety, we employed an active facilitation model that normalized uncertainty and prioritized the diagnostic process over arriving at the correct diagnosis.

    Resident attitudes toward VICE were assessed by utilizing a postconference survey and gathering descriptive data for 11 sessions. Ninety-seven percent of respondents (
    = 35) felt that VICE was a noveitive experience. This resource includes all materials necessary to implement VICE, as well as an instructional video on facilitation.

Here, we studied crystallization mechanisms of two widely used analgesics, ibuprofen (IbuH) and etoricoxib (ETO), using direct cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM) imaging. In the IbuH case, parallel crystallization pathways involved diverse phases of high and low density, in which the instantaneous formation of final crystalline order was observed. ETO crystallization started from well-defined round-shaped amorphous intermediates that gradually evolved into crystals. All CMA tests in pregnancies with CCA or PFA performed between January 2015 and June 2020 were retrospectively evaluated from the Israeli Ministry of Health database. The rate of CMA with clinically significant (pathogenic or likely pathogenic) findings was calculated and compared to a local Israeli cohort of 5,541 pregnancies with normal ultrasound. One hundred eighty-two pregnancies were enrolled 102 cases with CCA and 89 with PFA (9 cases had both). Clinically significant CMA results were found in 7/102 of CCA (6.9%) and in 7/89 of PFA (7.9%) cases. The CMA detection rate in pregnancies with isolated CCA (2/57, 3.5%) or PFA (2/50, 4.0%) was lower than in nonisolated cases, including additional CNS and/or extra-CNS sonographic anomalies (CCA-5/45, 11.1%; PFA-5/39, 12.8%), but this was not statistically significant. However, the rate among pregnancies that had extra-CNS anomalies, with or without additional CNS involvement (CCA-5/24, 20.8%; PFA-5/29, 17.2%), was significantly higher compared to all other cases ( = 0.0075 for CCA; = 0.035 for PFA). Risk of CMA with clinically significant results for all and nonisolated CCA or PFA pregnancies was higher compared to the background risk reported in the control cohort ( < 0.001), but was not significant for isolated cases. Our findings suggest that CMA testing is beneficial for the genetic workup of pregnancies with CCA or PFA, and is probably most informative when additional extra-CNS anomalies are observed. We developed an educational conference for internal medicine residents to practice diagnostic reasoning and examine how biases affect their differential diagnoses through cognitive autopsies. We formatted the Virtual Interactive Case-Based Education (VICE) conference as a clinical problem-solving exercise, in which a facilitator presents a case to a single discussant selected from the audience. We delivered VICE on an internet-based conferencing platform with screen-sharing capability over approximately 30 minutes. To maximize learners' psychological safety, we employed an active facilitation model that normalized uncertainty and prioritized the diagnostic process over arriving at the correct diagnosis. Resident attitudes toward VICE were assessed by utilizing a postconference survey and gathering descriptive data for 11 sessions. The mechanistic scenarios where crystalline order evolves directly from the molecularly dissolved state ("classical") and from initially formed amorphous intermediates ("nonclassical") are suggested and debated. Here, we studied crystallization mechanisms of two widely used analgesics, ibuprofen (IbuH) and etoricoxib (ETO), using direct cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM) imaging. In the IbuH case, parallel crystallization pathways involved diverse phases of high and low density, in which the instantaneous formation of final crystalline order was observed. ETO crystallization started from well-defined round-shaped amorphous intermediates that gradually evolved into crystals. This mechanistic diversity is rationalized by introducing a continuum crystallization paradigm order evolution depends on ordering in the initially formed intermediates and efficiency of molecular rearrangements within them, and there is a continuum of states related to the initial order and rearrangement rates.

If a dependence exists, we may argue that road regularity is driven by exogenous phenomena and MLAs allow for the replacement of in situ surveys, saving considerable time and money. The purpose of this study is to discriminate brain metastases from healthy brain tissue in an ex vivo setting by applying texture analysis and machine learning algorithms for tissue classification to OCT images.

    Tumor and healthy tissue samples were collected during resection of brain metastases. Samples were imaged using OCT. Texture features were extracted from B-scans. Then, a machine learning algorithm using principal component analysis (PCA) and support vector machines (SVM) was applied to the OCT scans for classification. The purpose of this study is to discriminate brain metastases from healthy brain tissue in an ex vivo setting by applying texture analysis and machine learning algorithms for tissue classification to OCT images. Tumor and healthy tissue samples were collected during resection of brain metastases. Samples were imaged using OCT. Texture features were extracted from B-scans. Then, a machine learning algorithm using principal component analysis (PCA) and support vector machines (SVM) was applied to the OCT scans for classification. As a gold standard, an experienced pathologist examined the tissue samples histologically and determined the percentage of vital tumor, necrosis and healthy tissue of each sample.

  • Novel immune checkpoint-based immunotherapies may benefit specific groups of prostate cancer patients who are resistant to other treatments.

    We analyzed by immunohistochemistry the expression of B7-H3, PD-L1/B7-H1, and androgen receptor (AR) in tissue samples from 120 prostate adenocarcinoma patients treated with radical prostatectomy in Spain, and from 206 prostate adenocarcinoma patients treated with radical prostatectomy in Norway.

    B7-H3 expression correlated positively with AR expression and was associated with biochemical recurrence in the Spanish cohort, but PD-L1 expression correlated with neither of them. Findings for B7-H3 were validated in the Norwegian cohort, where B7-H3 expression correlated positively with Gleason grade, surgical margins, seminal vesicle invasion, and CAPRA-S risk group, and was associated with clinical recurrence. High B7-H3 expression in the Norwegian cohort was also consistent with positive AR expression.

    These results suggest distinct clinical relevance of the two immune checkpoint proteins PD-L1 and B7-H3 in prostate cancer. Our findings highlight B7-H3 as an actionable novel immune checkpoint protein in prostate cancer.

    The study aimed to perform isometry analysis of a selection of suture attachment points for extracapsular stabilization with three-dimensional (3D) measurements and normal gait kinematics of the stifle joint.

    Thirteen client-owned dogs were recruited. Fluoroscopic images of the stifle during treadmill walking and computed tomography of the same joint were acquired. Stifle kinematics were reconstructed using 3D model-based fluoroscopic analysis. Variability of the distance between the femoral and tibial attachment sites across gait cycles was evaluated. The maximum length variation (MLV) and maximum length percent variation (MLPV) were quantified and used to determine the level of isometry of the attachment site combinations.

    A selection of combinations with lower mean MLV (<2.5mm) or MLPV(<8%) was identified from 315 combinations, and all the combinations involved femoral attachment sites near the distal pole of the lateral fabella. The combinations also involving tibial attachment sites near the proximal tibial crest showed improved isometry, with an MLPV<6%.

The tested model comprised syndromes designated as Anxious/Depressed, Worries, Somatic Complaints, Functional Impairment, Memory/Cognition Problems, Thought Problems, and Irritable/Disinhibited. The model was tested using confirmatory factor analyses in each society separately. The primary model fit index showed a good fit for all societies, while the secondary model fit indices showed acceptable to a good fit for all societies. The items loaded strongly on their respective factors, with a median item loading of 0.69 across the 11 societies. By syndrome, the overall median item loadings ranged from 0.47 for Worries to 0.77 for Functional Impairment. The OABCL syndrome structure was thus generalizable across the tested societies. The OABCL can be used for broad assessment of psychopathology for elders of diverse backgrounds in nursing services and research.Patients with refractory chronic migraine have substantial disability and have failed many acute and preventive medications.
