in these patients, while additional lesions can be revascularized during a staged procedure. Immediate multivessel PCI could be performed in some specific angiographic scenarios, such as subtotal non-culprit lesions with reduced Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction (TIMI)-flow, or multiple possible culprit lesions. However, this should be considered on an individual basis. CABG should be performed only in case of failed PCI and coronary anatomies not suitable for PCI. However, small case series report good outcomes in selected patients with CS undergoing CABG. Therefore, a randomized trial comparing PCI and CABG in patients with CS and multivessel disease seems warranted. Hopefully such a trial will take place to determine the optimal revascularization therapy in CS. One problem might be to find a sufficient number of cardiac surgeons who are willing to operate such high-risk surgical patients.Introduction The standard of care for locoregionally advanced rectal cancer is neoadjuvant therapy (NA CRT) prior to surgery, of which 10-30% experience a complete pathologic response (pCR). There has been interest in using imaging features, also known as radiomics features, to predict pCR and potentially avoid surgery. This systematic review aims to describe the spectrum of MRI studies examining high-performing radiomic features that predict NA CRT response.Areas covered This article reviews the use of pre-therapy MRI in predicting NA CRT response for patients with locoregionally advanced rectal cancer (T3/T4 and/or N1+). The primary outcome was to identify MRI radiomic studies; secondary outcomes included the power and the frequency of use of radiomic features.Expert opinion Advanced models incorporating multiple radiomics categories appear to be the most promising. However, there is a need for standardization across studies with regards to; the definition of NA CRT response, imaging protocols, and radiomics features incorporated. Further studies are needed to validate current radiomics models and to fully ascertain the value of MRI radiomics in the response prediction for locoregionally advanced rectal cancer.
Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC), a highly aggressive malignancy, has no effective treatment to date. Trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (TROP-2), a transmembrane glycoprotein, has been suggested to be a promising novel target for sacituzumab govitecan, an antibody-drug conjugate. 5-Hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) has a role in tumor suppression and promoting modification. Additionally, isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutations are strongly associated with increased overall survival in gliomas and worse prognosis in leukemias. This study attempts to evaluate the immunoexpression of TROP-2, 5hmC, and IDH1 in ATCs and to determine their potential impact in targeted therapy.

Twenty-four ATCs were retrieved, with 9 cases that occurred de novo and 15 cases derived from either papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) or follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC). Sections were immunostained with TROP-2, 5hmC, and IDH1 antibodies, and evaluated using the QuPath program. The
tests were performed using SPSS software.

TROP-gnostic and therapeutic value in ATC.Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is more aggressive than other breast cancer subtypes. TNBC is characterized by increased expression of Programmed Death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), a signal used by many tumors to escape the immune response. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/hs-10296.html Expression of PD-L1 is a positive predictor of response to immunotherapy; therefore, it should be investigated in TNBC in order to select patients who may benefit from anti-PD-L1 therapies. While many PD-L1 assays are available, only the VENTANA platform with the anti-PD-L1 (SP142) antibody is licensed as a companion diagnostic device for selecting patients with metastatic/advanced TNBC who are candidates for treatment with atezolizumab. In this article, we provide a summary of an expert round-table discussion about PD-L1 testing, using the SP142 antibody in metastatic TNBC.Aim The CAVIDIOR study evaluated quality of life (QoL) in patients with breakthrough cancer pain receiving palliative radiation therapy in radiation oncology departments (RODs) in Spain. Patients & methods Prospective observational study at 11 Spanish RODs (July 2016-November 2017). QoL was assessed using Short Form Health Survey 12. Secondary end points were sleep quality, caregiver burden and patient/perception of improvement. Results QoL improved according to the Short Form Health Survey 12 mental component. Sleep quality and caregivers' burden improved significantly. Conclusion Breakthrough cancer pain is highly prevalent and can be substantially reduced with appropriate diagnosis and management in RODs. Along with the QoL questionnaire, sleep quality and caregiver burden provide a more comprehensive assessment of overall health status in patients receiving radiation therapy in RODs. Clinical trial registration NCT02836379 (ClinicalTrials.gov).One of the limitations of 18FDG PET/CT for therapeutic evaluation in Hodgkin's Lymphoma is the relatively high rate of false positive uptake. SUVmax reduction (ΔSUVmax) and tumor/liver ratio (TLr) are promising tools for response assessment in lymphoma. We determined the optimal cutoff values for ΔSUVmax and TLr and compared them to Deauville score (DS) after two and four cycles chemotherapy (PET2 and PET4 respectively) and at the end of treatment PET (PETeot) on a cohort of 362 patients. TLr showed better diagnostic performances than DS for predicting 5-year progression-free survival (PFS), especially on early PET/CT assessments. Positive predictive values at PET2 for TLr, ΔSUVmax and DS were 51%, 34% and 31% respectively. On the multivariable analysis, significant predictive factors of PFS were TLr (at PET2, PET4 and PETeot) and ΔSUVmax (at PET4 and PETeot). DS was not significantly associated with PFS at any PET timing.Scholarship in the field of health communication is broad, with interdisciplinary contributions from researchers trained in a variety of fields including communication, nursing, medicine, pharmacy, public health, and social work. In this paper, we explore the role of "health communication boundary spanners" (HCBS), individuals whose scholarly work and academic appointment reflect dual citizenship in both the communication discipline and the health professions or public health. Using a process of critical reflective inquiry, we elucidate opportunities and challenges associated with HCBS across the spectrum of health communication in order to provide guidance for individuals pursuing boundary spanning roles and those who supervise and mentor them. This dual citizen role suggests that HCBS have unique skills, identities, perspectives, and practices that contribute new ways of being and knowing that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. The health communication field is evolving in response to the need to address significant healthcare and policy problems.
