The ICECAP-O for older people aims to measure capabilities and has recently been used in people with dementia (self-rating) and informal carers (substituted judgement). Despite the small sample, our linguistic validation of the German and Portuguese translations detected considerable difficulties or deviations in item comprehension when compared with the intended meaning. In some cases, the item interpretations did not reflect the entire scope of the associated capability dimension, though they were basically correct. Moreover, partiicates a need for some rephrasing and refinements of the ICECAP-O translated items in both countries to fully encompass some dimensions and avoid misinterpretations. Further studies with larger samples are necessary. Based on our findings, the current German version for ICs' substituted judgement cannot be recommended for this kind of respondents without further advancements.

In our previous study, we have demonstrated that the pacIRA cluster present in some but not all clinical S. maltophilia isolates. Proteins encoded by pacIRA operon are an extracytoplasmic function (ECF) sigma factor, a transmembrane anti-sigma regulator, and a TonB-dependent receptor. To assess in-vitro trabecular bone damage following mono- and bicortical mini-implant (MI) anchorage in mini-implant assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE).

Sixteen self-drilling MI (four MARPE appliances) were distributed in two groups according to bone insertion (monocortical and bicortical) in bovine rib. The device was activated five times (0.5mm each). Trabecular bone damage was assessed using micro-CT scans made at baseline and after each activation by trabecular spacing parameter (Tb.Sp) (distance [mm] between the trabecular bone structure). These measurements were made in five different regions of interest (ROI) surrounding the screw (whole, superior, inferior, anterior and posterior). Two-way ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc analysis (α=0.05) was used to evaluate the effect of insertion type (monocortical vs. bicortical) and activation cycle (0-5) on trabecular damage. The time effect was evaluated using ANOVA-MR test effect with Bonferroni correction (α=0.003). The micro-CT images were also examined qualitatively.

When analysing the individual ROIs, only the superior ROI had a significant difference (P<0.003) beginning at the fourth activation cycle. PubMed, Medline, Embase, CINAHL and Scopus were searched for primary studies published between January 1, 2014 and June 12, 2020. Studies which reported MSEs among community-dwelling older adults (≥50 years of age) and written in English were included in the review.

Eleven studies met the inclusion criteria. The most commonly reported MSE was a dosing error, followed by missed dose, wrong medicine, incorrect administration methods, wrong administration time and wrong frequency. Seven of the included studies also described factors which contributed to the occurrence of MSEs. The most commonly reported factor contributing to MSEs was complex treatment regimens due to use of multiple medicines.
