Wet dust removal is one of the effective dust removal methods. As a solid, coal has different rough surfaces, which have a certain effect on the wetting effect of coal. In this paper, three coal samples with different surface wettability are used as the research objects. Phase-field interface tracking method is used to simulate the wetting of droplets on rough surfaces. From the simulation results, it can be concluded that the influence of the rough interface on the contact angle of the droplets is in accordance with the change rule described in the Wenzel model. As the roughness increases, the contact angle of the hydrophilic lignite surface gradually decreases. As the roughness increases, the contact angle of hydrophobic coking coal gradually increases. The change trend of the contact on the surface of weakly hydrophilic anthracite coal is the same as that of lignite. Due to the local and global differences, the contact angles obtained from the numerical model are slightly different from the values calculated from the Wenzel model.Biofluorescence is widespread in the natural world, but only recently discovered in terrestrial vertebrates. Here, we report on the discovery of iridophore-based, neon-green flourescence in the gecko Pachydactylus rangei, localised to the skin around the eyes and along the flanks. The maximum emission of the fluorescence is at a wavelength of 516 nm in the green spectrum (excitation maximum 465 nm, blue) with another, smaller peak at 430 nm. This is a natural process that leads to the loss of fertility and ovarian function, cycle irregularity and eventually menopause or reproductive senescence. The factors that underlie the natural depletion of follicles throughout reproductive life are poorly characterised. It has been proposed that inflammatory processes and fibrosis might contribute to ovarian ageing. To further investigate this possibility, we evaluated key markers of inflammation and immune cell populations in the ovaries of 2, 6, 12 and 18-month-old C57BL/6 female ****. We report that the decrease in follicle numbers over the reproductive lifespan was associated with an increase in the intra-ovarian percentage of CD4 + T cells, B cells and macrophages. Serum concentration and intra-ovarian mRNA levels of several pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1α/β, TNF-α, IL-6, and inflammasome genes ASC and NLRP3, were significantly increased with age. Fibrosis levels, as determined by picrosirius red staining for collagen I and III, were unchanged up to 18 months of age. Collectively, these data suggest that inflammation could be one of the mechanisms responsible for the age-related regulation of follicle number, but the role of fibrosis is unclear. Further studies are now required to determine if there is a causative relationship between inflammation and follicle depletion as females age.Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome is a rare disease, characterised by the aplasia of vagina and uterus in women with a 46,XX karyotype. Most cases are sporadic, but familial recurrence has also been described. Herein, we investigated an Italian cohort of 36 unrelated MRKH patients to explore the presence of pathogenic copy number variations (CNVs) by array-CGH and MLPA assays. On the whole, aberrations were found in 9/36 (25%) patients. Interestingly, one patient showed a novel heterozygous microduplication at Xp22.33, not yet described in MRKH patients, containing the PRKX gene. Moreover, a novel duplication of a specific SHOX enhancer was highlighted by MLPA. To predict the potential significance of CNVs in MRKH pathogenesis, we provided a network analysis for protein-coding genes found in the altered genomic regions. Although not all of these genes taken individually showed a clear clinical significance, their combination in a computational network highlighted that the most relevant biological connections are related to the anatomical structure development. In conclusion, the results described in the present study identified novel genetic alterations and interactions that may be likely involved in MRKH phenotype determination, so adding new insights into the complex puzzle of MRKH disease.Mangrove-dwelling microalgae are well adapted to frequent encounters of salinity fluctuations across their various growth phases but are lesser studied. The current study explored the adaptive changes (in terms of biomass, oil content and fatty acid composition) of mangrove-isolated C. vulgaris UMT-M1 cultured under different salinity levels (5, 10, 15, 20, 30 ppt). The highest total oil content was recorded in cultures at 15 ppt salinity (63.5% of dry weight) with uncompromised biomass productivity, thus highlighting the 'trigger-threshold' for oil accumulation in C. vulgaris UMT-M1. Subsequently, C. vulgaris UMT-M1 was further assessed across different growth phases under 15 ppt. The various short, medium and long-chain fatty acids (particularly C200), coupled with a high level of C183n3 PUFA reported at early exponential phase represents their physiological importance during rapid cell growth. Accumulation of C181 and C182 at stationary growth phase across all salinities was seen as cells accumulating substrate for C183n3 should the cells anticipate a move from stationary phase into new growth phase.
