Thus, agents capable of modulating the epigenetic environment of neoplasms will be a valuable addition to the anticancer therapeutics. Flavones are emerging as befitting anticancer agents due to their inherent antioxidant activity and the ability to restrain epi-targets namely histone deacetylases (HDACs). HDACs have broader implications in pathogenesis of various cancers. Chrysin, a flavone possessing the ability to inhibit HDACs could prove as a potential anticancer drug. Thus, in this article we focussed on Chrysin and its distinct antineoplastic effect against bellicose malignancies including lung, colorectal, cervical, gastric, melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer. The underlying signalling cascades triggered by Chrysin for inducing cytotoxic effect in these cancer models are discussed. Importantly, approaches towards combinatorial treatments by Chrysin and commercial anticancer agents are taken into account. The downstream molecular mechanism aroused by combined therapy for abrogating onerous cancer chemoresistance is delineated as well. Moreover, the nano-combinatorial approach involving co-encapsulation of Chrysin with other herbal and non-herbal agents for clinical excellence is elucidated.Kinematic differences between patients with osteoarthritis (OA) and control participants have been reported to be influenced by gait speed. The purpose of this study was to experimentally detect the effect of walking speed on differences in spatiotemporal parameters and kinematic trajectories between patients with hip OA and age-matched asymptomatic participants using wearable sensors and statistical parametric mapping (SPM). Twenty-four patients with severe unilateral hip OA and 48 control participants were included in this study. Patients walked at a self-selected normal speed and control participants at self-selected normal and slow speeds. Spatiotemporal parameters and kinematic trajectories were measured with the inertial sensor system Rehagait®. Gait parameters were compared between patients with hip OA and control participants for normal and matched speed using SPM with independent sample t-tests. At self-selected normal speed, the patient group walked slower (-0.20 m/s, p less then .001) and at lower cadence (-5.0 steps/minute, p less then .001) as well as with smaller hip flexion (-7.4°, p less then .001) and extension (-4.1°, p = .001), higher knee flexion during terminal stance (+8.0°, p less then .001) and higher ankle dorsiflexion and plantarflexion (+7.1°, p less then .001). While differences in spatiotemporal parameters and the ankle trajectory disappeared at matched speed, some clinically relevant and statistically significant differences in hip and knee trajectories remained. Most differences in sagittal plane gait kinematics between patients with hip OA and control participants were present for matched speed, and therefore appear to be associated with a disease rather than gait speed. Nevertheless, studies investigating hip kinematics in patients with hip OA should involve trials at matched speeds.Policy Points Birth center services must be covered under Medicaid per federal mandate, but reimbursement and other policy barriers prevent birth centers from serving more Medicaid patients. Midwifery care, particularly when offered through birth centers, has shown promise in both improving pregnancy outcomes and containing costs. The national evaluation of Strong Start for Mothers and Newborns II, an initiative that tested enhanced prenatal care models for Medicaid beneficiaries, found that women receiving prenatal care at Strong Start birtbirth centers from serving more Medicaid patients, or threaten the financial sustainability of centers. By addressing these barriers, more Medicaid beneficiaries could access care that is associated with positive birth outcomes for mothers and newborns, and the Medicaid program could reap significant savings.The ecological impacts of increasing global temperatures are evident in most ecosystems on Earth, but our understanding of how climatic variation influences natural selection and adaptive resilience across latitudes remains largely unknown. Latitudinal gradients allow testing general ecosystem-level theories relevant to climatic adaptation. We assessed differences in adaptive diversity of populations along a latitudinal region spanning highly variable temperate to subtropical climates. We generated and integrated information from environmental mapping, phenotypic variation and genome-wide data from across the geographical range of the rainbowfish Melanotaenia duboulayi, an emerging aquatic system for studies of climate change. We detected, after controlling for spatial population structure, strong interactions between genotypes and environment associated with variation in stream flow and temperature. Some of these hydroclimate-associated genes were found to interact within functional protein networks that contain genes of adaptive significance for projected future climates in rainbowfish. Hydroclimatic selection was also associated with variation in phenotypic traits, including traits known to affect fitness of rainbowfish exposed to different flow environments. Consistent with predictions from the "climatic variability hypothesis," populations exposed to extremes of important environmental variables showed stronger adaptive divergence and less variation in climate-associated genes compared to populations at the centre of the environmental gradient. Our findings suggest that populations that evolved at environmental range margins and at geographical range edges may be more vulnerable to changing climates, a finding with implications for predicting adaptive resilience and managing biodiversity under climate change.
