D-dimer and C-reactive protein were measured, and all patients were screened for deep vein thrombosis with venous duplex-ultrasound. Additionally, selected high-risk patients received computed tomography pulmonary angiogram or ventilation-perfusion (V/Q) scan to screen for incidental pulmonary embolism.

This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic and therapeutic value of a digital single-operator cholangioscope (SOC) system for endoscopic management of acute appendicitis.
14 patients with acute uncomplicated simple or supportive appendicitis were evaluated between November 2018 and September 2020. The diagnosis of acute appendicitis was confirmed by direct colonoscopy imaging and cholangioscope. The success rate of digital SOC-assisted endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT), the procedure time, postoperative length of hospital stay, complications, and recurrence rate were recorded.
Technical success rate was 100 %, with high quality imaging of the appendiceal cavity achieved using SOC in all 14 patients. The mean procedure time was 37.8 (standard deviation [SD] 22) minutes. All patients experienced immediate relief from abdominal pain after the procedure. Mean postoperative hospitalization was 1.9 (SD 0.7) days. No recurrence occurred during 2-24 months of follow-up.

In this paper, we explored the role and potential molecular mechanism of propofol in regulating PTX sensitivity in PC cells.
Prostatic cancer cell line PC3 was treated using different concentrations of PTX (10nM, 50nM), propofol (150μM, 300μM) or transfected with overexpressed HOTAIR plasmid. HOTAIR expression was analyzed by RT-qPCR. Apoptosis of PC3 cells was observed by flow cytometry method while cell viability was evaluated by CCK-8. Moreover, apoptosis-related genes, Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by Western blot methods. E-cadherin, N-cadherin and Vimentin protein concentrations were monitored by ELISA.
PTX significantly increased apoptosis of PC3 cells and reduced cell viability in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, Protein expression of Bcl-2 was obviously inhibited while Bax protein expression level was provoked. Furthermore, E-cadherin protein concentration increased while N-cadherin and Vimentin decreased due to increasing PTX treatments. HOTAIR expression dropped due to PTX treatment while overexpression of HOTAIR induced cell viability, EMT and deterred apoptosis. Propofol ignited the PTX function while upregulation of HOTAIR partially reversed this.

Drama and role play can be unlisted as methods to allow children to view problems from a range of different perspectives that may differ from their own experience. Application of drama technique to assess the cause of dental fear and anxiety in a school setting is novel.
The aim of this study was to engage primary school children in the core investigation via participatory arts methodologies, namely, process drama to gain understanding of the causes of dental anxiety.
Sixty-three children, aged 7-10years from three primary schools participated in this study. A 90-min drama workshop was carried in each school. The children were encouraged to identify the causes of dental anxiety using key concepts from process drama. The sessions were audio-recorded and transcribed.
Four key concepts emerged (1) fear of the unknown; (2) unpleasant sensory experience; (3) society's perception and portrayal of the dentist; and (4) learnt negative associations with the dentist. Within each four key concepts, two sub-themes were identified.
