Endocytoscopy (EC) is an ultra-high magnification endoscopy designed to provide in vivo histologic assessment. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic yield of the newly developed fourth-generation EC for esophageal squamous lesions by using a modified EC classification.

A total of 2548 EC images of 57 esophageal targeted areas between June 2015 and October 2017 were retrospectively collected. Two lesions with low-quality images were excluded. Only EC images were independently reviewed by two expert and two non-expert endoscopists. The lesions were classified according to a three-tier modified EC classification. We used a multilevel logistic regression to analyze the data.

The sensitivity and specificity of diagnosing non-squamous cell cancer (SCC) vs SCC were 82.5% and 83.0% by the experts; 90.1% and 75.0% by non-experts. The interobserver agreement among the four raters was good (kappa statistic 0.59). We compared the development of hypertension, proteinuria, and reduced eGFR in 227 kidney donors with kidney stones to 908 propensity score-matched donor controls without kidney stones using data from The Renal and Lung Donor Evaluation (RELIVE) Study which studied intermediate and long-term outcomes of 8922 donors who donated between 1963 and 2007. 200 donors had kidney stones prior to donation, 21 had post-donation stones, and 6 had pre- and post-donation stones. Donors with stones were older, more likely to be Caucasian, less likely to be related to the recipient and had a higher fasting glucose. After 16.5 ± 10.9 years (range 0-44 years) from donation to study close, no ESKD occurred in donors with stones. The multivariable risks of hypertension, proteinuria, and reduced GFR were similar in donors with and without kidney stones. We could not demonstrate an association between stones and adverse renal outcomes in kidney donors, and the occurrence of post-donation stones was distinctly rare. These data may provide a rationale for possibly a wider acceptance of donor candidates with low kidney stones burden.
For Chinese Han populations, cryptococcosis are more likely to occur in HIV-uninfected patients instead of HIV-infected patients compared with other countries and regions, implying that there may be genetic predisposing factors for cryptococcosis in the Chinese Han populations. However, the retail mechanism has not been clarified.

We aimed to conduct an association analysis between the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of pattern recognition receptors (PRR) genes and the susceptibility to cryptococcosis in HIV-uninfected Chinese patients, which may provide new genetic predisposing factors for early-risk predictionof disease, individualised treatment and prognosis monitoring.

Using the SNaPshot SNP typing technique, eight SNPs of PRR genes (Dectin-2, Dectin-1, PTX3, CXCL8, IL12B, IFIH1, TLR1 and CD209) were typed on 97 HIV-uninfected cryptococcosis patients and 120 healthy controls who admitted to West China Hospital, Sichuan University, China, from 1 March 2018 to 30 December 2018. The results werecantly higher than that of GA or GG genotype.Neighborhoods' structural conditions are consequential for their social circumstances and residents' well-being. Neighborhood effects might be accentuated among older residents because their daily activities and social lives are more confined to their immediate communities. This study examines how changing neighborhood socioeconomic disadvantage affects older residents' depression and stress, as well as perceptions of neighborhood context. This study employed waves 2 (2010-2011) and 3 (2015-2016) of the National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project survey (N = 2357) and fixed-effects linear regression models to study these relationships. While rising neighborhood socioeconomic disadvantage was associated with more depression and stress, it was negatively associated with overall neighborhood social capital and neighborhood social cohesion, and was only associated with lower perceptions of neighborhood safety among respondents who relocated to new neighborhoods. Beyond cross-sectional associations, changing neighborhood socioeconomic disadvantage is associated with changes in mental health and perceptions of neighborhood social context.

Twenty-five studies were included, which investigated a total of 150 potential risk factors.
