The purpose of the present study was to investigate body mass index, multi-morbidity, and COVID-19 Risk Score as predictors of severe COVID-19 outcomes.

Patients from this study are from a well-characterized patient cohort collected at Mayo Clinic between January 1, 2020 and May 23, 2020; with confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis defined as a positive result on reverse-transcriptase-polymerase-chain-reaction (RT-PCR) assays from nasopharyngeal swab specimens.

Demographic and clinical data were extracted from the electronic medical record. The data included date of birth, gender, ethnicity, race, marital status, medications (active COVID-19 agents), weight and height (from which the Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated, history of smoking, and comorbid conditions to calculate the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) and the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) multi-morbidity score. An additional COVID-19 Risk Score was also included. Outcomes included hospital admission, ICU admission, and death.

Cox proportional hazards models were used to determine the impact on mortality or hospital admission. Age, sex, and race (white/Latino, white/non-Latino, other, did not disclose) were adjusted for in the model. Patients with higher COVID-19 Risk Scores had a significantly higher likelihood of being at least admitted to the hospital (HR = 1.80; 95% CI = 1.30, 2.50;
 < .001), or experiencing death or inpatient admission (includes ICU admissions) (HR = 1.20; 95% CI = 1.02, 1.42;
 = .028). Age was the only statistically significant demographic predictor, but obesity was not a significant predictor of any of the outcomes.

However, many professionals, including occupational therapists, feel unprepared to deal with death and dyingand have difficulties to attend to the real needs of the older adults and their families.This is a qualitative study anchored in phenomenologywhich had the objective to understand the perception of occupational therapists regarding death and dying inlong-term care facilities. Data were collected through focus groups and analyzed by thematic content analysis. A total of 12 occupational therapists participated in this study, and two themeswere generated "The Experience of Death and Dying" and "The Occupational Therapist's approach in Facing Death and Dying". These results may contribute to improvingthe care provided to older adults in the process of death and dying.The Oncology Pharmacy Team (OPT), consisting of specialty-trained pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians, is an integral component of the multidisciplinary healthcare team (MHT) involved with all aspects of cancer patient care. The OPT fosters quality patient care, safety, and local regulatory compliance. The International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners (ISOPP) developed this position statement to provide guidance on five key areas 1) oncology pharmacy practice as a pharmacy specialty; 2) contributions to patient care; 3) oncology pharmacy practice management; 4) education and training; and 5) contributions to oncology research and quality initiatives to involve the OPT. This position statement advocates that 1) the OPT be fully incorporated into the MHT to optimize patient care; 2) educational and healthcare institutions develop programs to continually educate OPT members; and 3) regulatory authorities develop certification programs to recognize the unique contributions of the OPT in cancer patient care.Dysregulation of microRNA-425 (miR-425) has been reported in several human cancers. This study was therefore designed to examine the expression and decipher the role of miR-425 in cervical cancer. Additionally, low expression of miR-425 was associated with significantly (P = 0.035) lower survival rate of the cervical cancer patients. Overexpression of miR-425 resulted in significant (P = 0.024) decline of cervical cancer cell proliferation via induction of apoptosis. The induction of apoptosis was associated with up-regulation of Bax and down-regulation of Bcl-2. Besides, the migration and invasion of cancer cells significantly (P  less then  0.01) decreased under miR-425 overexpression. Additionally, miR-425 could inhibit the growth of xenografted tumors in vivo. In silico analysis and dual luciferase assay revealed RAB2B as the direct target of miR-425 in cervical cancer. RAB2B was found to be significantly (P  less then  0.05) up-regulated in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines and miR-425 overexpression suppressed the expression of RAB2B. Additionally, silencing of RAB2B could suppress the growth of cervical cancer cells but its overexpression could rescue the tumor-suppressive effects of miR-425. Taken together, the results revealed the tumor-suppressive roe of miR-425 and point towards its therapeutic potential in the management of cervical cancer.
