Several promising lead compounds have been discovered using these models. Precision medicine for DMD aims at developing mutation-specific therapies such as exon-skipping and genome editing. To meet these needs, models with patient-like mutations have been established in different species. Models that harbor hotspot mutations are very attractive because the drugs developed in these models can bring mutation-specific therapies to a large population of patients. Humanized hDMD **** carry the entire human dystrophin gene in the mouse genome. Reagents developed in the hDMD mouse-based models are directly translatable to human patients.Topical drug delivery for local anesthetics has been an interesting area of research for formulators considering the resistance and barrier properties of skin and high clearance rate of drugs like prilocaine and lidocaine (duration of action less then 2.5 h). In this study, efforts have been made to sustain the release of prilocaine and lidocaine by using depot microemulsion system. Drug loaded microemulsions were formulated using Capmul MCM, Pluronic F127, polyethylene glycol 200 (PEG 200) and water from pseudo-ternary diagrams. The Smix at 14 ratio showed larger microemulsion area in comparison to 12 ratio. The ex-vivo studies indicate sustained release of prilocaine and lidocaine from the microemulsion up to 8 h, in comparison to 4 h with ointments. Skin irritation study on rabbits confirmed the safety of drug loaded microemulsions for local drug delivery. The improved ex vivo data is reflected in the in vivo studies, were radiant heat tail-flick test and sciatic nerve model showed prolong duration of action for both prilocaine and lidocaine microemulsions in comparison to ointment. The in vitro and in vivo efficacy of prilocaine and lidocaine was non-significant. The improved efficacy was due to high penetration of microemulsion and depot effect due to local precipitation (destabilization of microemulsion) of drug in the skin layer. The sustained local anesthetic effect is highly desirable for the treatment of skin irritation due to skin burns and pre- and post-operative pain.The characteristics and current situation of pediatric neuropsychologists across Spanish-speaking countries was examined. A total of 409 self-identified professionals working in child neuropsychology from 12 Latin American countries and Spain completed an online survey between June and October 2018. Results revealed that pediatric neuropsychology as a related but distinct discipline within neuropsychology presents with a series of unique challenges to practitioners in Spanish-speaking countries. Efforts and initiatives are required to increase awareness of the field, define the core competencies, foster more opportunities for training, and conduct research to understand sociocultural characteristics and develop culturally specific tools.P-technique factor analysis is an exploratory factor model for multivariate time series data. Assessing model fit of P-technique factor models is non-trivial because time series data are correlated at nearby time points. We present a test statistic that is appropriate for P-technique factor analysis. In addition, the test statistic allows researchers to quantify the amount of model error. We explore the statistical properties of the test statistic with simulated data and we illustrate its use with an empirical study of personality states. Results of the simulation study include (1) the empirical distributions of the test statistic approximately followed their respective theoretical chi-square distributions, (2) the empirical Type I error rates of the test of perfect fit are close to the nominal level and the empirical Type I error rates of the test of close fit are slightly lower than the nominal level, and (3) the empirical power rates of the test of perfect fit are satisfactory but the empirical power rates of the test of close fit are only satisfactory for small models.Issue Although there is consensus on the importance of including ethics in the medical school curriculum, there is wide variation in how this topic is taught. Recent literature also questions the effectiveness of current ethical teaching methods in changing student attitudes and future behavior. Implications This article has practical suggestions for medical educators to improve their ethics courses, leading to more well-rounded and thoughtful physicians.
