The goal is to illustrate that DFT calculations of a simplified model give the same information regarding the reaction scheme and free energy data as for the full model, while it requires **** less computational resources to obtain the data. Furthermore the reaction scheme of the simplified model are in agreement with experimental observation of the full model [2].The novel corona virus disease (Covid-19) outbreak has caused great uncertainty in all spheres of human life. The experience has been incredibly humbling given that no country or section of society, regardless of its wealth or status, has been spared. The pandemic is not only a health crisis, but is also having serious damaging effects on societies, economies and vulnerable groups. Timely response is necessary in order to alleviate human suffering and to prevent irreversible destruction of livelihoods. This paper provides preliminary data on the socio-economic impacts of Covid-19 in the coastal city of Mombasa, Kenya, at the time of government-imposed curfews and cessation of movement. We conducted online surveys for two weeks during the restrictions period. The data was collected using online questionnaires directed at the city residents. The data highlights the mobile gender gap resulting from gender inequalities, residents' reliance on the government for Covid-19 information but lack of trust for government interventions, inadequate provisions of essential services, and the residents' lack of preparedness to tackle similar challenges in the future.Considering that stress condition associated with osteoporosis, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which is essential for central stress response system, is implicated in regulating bone mass accrual. Melanocortin 2 receptor (MC2R), the receptor of adrenocorticotropic hormone is expressed in both adrenal gland cells and bone cells. To elucidate the role of HPA axis in bone metabolism, we assessed the skeletal phenotype of MC2R deficient **** (MC2R -/- ****). We first examined bone mineral density and cortical thickness of femur using dual x-ray absorptiometry and micro-computed tomography. We then conducted histomorphometric analysis to calculate the static and dynamic parameters of vertebrae in MC2R -/- ****. The levels of osteoblastic marker genes were examined by quantitative PCR in primary osteoblasts derived from MC2R -/- ****. Based on these observations, bone mineral density of femur in MC2R -/- **** was increasing relative to litter controls. Meanwhile, the thickness of cortical bone of femur in MC2R -/- **** was remarkably elevated. Patients (n = 30, 19 males, mean age 58.6 ± 16.4 years). All patients are known or suspected oncology patients. All patients underwent whole body
F-FDG PET/CT scan and 2 h delayed PET/CT abdominal images following oral water gastric distension. The best cut off values for early SUVmax (SUVmax1), delayed SUVmax (SUVmax2) and SUVmax2-SUVmax1 (ΔSUVmax) to differentiate benign from malignant lesions were set based on ROC analysis. F-FDG uptake pattern in delayed images. Suspicious gastric lesions were correlated with biopsy in 18 patients (60 %) and with clinical and follow-up imaging (

In this phantom- and cadaver study we investigated the differences of coronary artery calcium (CAC) volume on ultra-high-resolution computed tomography (U-HRCT) scans and conventional CT.
We scanned a coronary calcium phantom and the coronary arteries of five cadavers using U-HRCT in normal- and super-high resolution (NR, SHR) mode. The NR mode was similar to conventional CT; 896 detector channels, a matrix size of 512, and a slice thickness of 0.5 mm were applied. In SHR mode, we used 1792 detector channels, a matrix size of 1024, and a slice thickness of 0.25 mm. The CAC volume on NR- and SHR images were recorded. Differences in the physical- and the calculated CAC volume were defined as the error value and compared between NR- and SHR images of the phantom. Differences between the CAC volume on NR- and SHR scans of the cadavers were also recorded.
The mean error value was lower on SHR- than NR images of the phantom (14.0 %, SD 11.1 vs 20.1 %, SD 15.2, p = 0.01). The mean CAC volume was significantly higher on SHR- than NR images of the cadavers (153.4 mm

As small calcifications were more clearly visualized on U-HRCT images in SHR mode than on conventional (NR) CT scans, SHR imaging may facilitate the accurate quantification of the CAC.
