How do you hit shots in NBA2K21?

Ive hit 1 over the course of my 4 games and I just can't get anything to go together with open layups. It's ridiculous. What're you doing to NBA 2K21 MT Coins hit shots? Google Crazy Eyes from Mr. Deeds and you can see a pic of the developer who created the shooting mechanisms. Stick when catch and take or post fade. Button from anyplace in close. Works for me but it required a bit of practice....
