Near the Kaaba, about 20 metres away, is the Well of Zamzam. The Well of Zamzam is an important part of Islam's history. Pilgrims who visit the holy house of Allah and then go to the Well of Zamzam to drink the holy water from it are well-known to go there. Since the Zamzam has been flowing there for 5,000 years, this well is thought to be the oldest on Earth.
