An infant with ductal dependent pulmonary blood flow who underwent neonatal ductal stenting and, 4 months later, developed ductal stent endocarditis due to Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. pasteurianus was described. The infection was associated with a moderate aortic pseudoaneurysm and the patient was treated with antibiotics as well as surgical aortic pseudoaneurysm repair. This novel and unusual complication of ductal stent placement warrants reporting.
To develop an image-based motion-robust diffusion MRI (dMRI) acquisition framework that is able to minimize motion artifacts caused by rigid and nonrigid motion, applicable to both brain and tongue dMRI.

We developed a novel prospective motion-correction technique in dMRI using a phase image-based real-time motion-detection method (PITA-MDD) with re-acquisition of motion-corrupted images. The prospective PITA-MDD acquisition technique was tested in the brains and tongues of volunteers. The subjects were instructed to move their heads or swallow, to induce motion. Motion-detection efficacy was validated against visual inspection as the gold standard. The effect of the PITA-MDD technique on diffusion-parameter estimates was evaluated by comparing reconstructed fiber tracts using tractography with and without re-acquisition.

The prospective PITA-MDD technique was able to effectively and accurately detect motion-corrupted data as compared with visual inspection. Tractography results demonstrated that PITA-MDD motion detection followed by re-acquisition helps in recovering lost and misshaped fiber tracts in the brain and tongue that would otherwise be corrupted by motion and yield erroneous estimates of the diffusion tensor.

There was uniform agreement that ACLF patients should undergo liver transplant (LT) work-up during hospitalization. However, respondents disagreed on allocation of MELD exception points and on using live donors.1.In this study, a peptide-based method employing ultra high performance liquid chromatography electrostatic field orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry was developed for quantification of A1-type and A2-type β-casein in milk from Yak, cows, and their offspring of crosses, Pien-niu. The specific peptides of A1-type and A2-type β-casein were screened and confirmed by protein software after analysis of high-resolution mass spectrometry. The multiple reaction monitoring method was established based on the qualitative results, and isotope-label peptides were used as internal standards. The linear correlation coefficients of this method were >0.99. The relative standard deviations of repeatability test were 0.2-3.6%. The recovery rate ranged from 93.3 to 114.4% with relative standard deviations less then 6% at three different spiking levels. The method was applied to analyze 45 milk samples from different species. The results showed that β-casein in Yak and Pien-niu milk was about 30% higher than that in *** milk. Furthermore, the β-casein in the Yak milk only contains A2-type β-casein. A1-type and A2-type β-casein coexist in most samples of Pien-niu and *** milk, a few samples contain only one type of β-casein. These results provide further understanding in nutritional value of milk from Yak and Pien-niu.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused devastating damage to employment globally, particularly among the non-standard workforce. The objective of this study was to identify the effects of the pandemic on the employment status and lives of working students in Japan.

The Labour Force Survey (January 2019 to May 2020) was used to examine changes in students' work situations. The number of working students reported in the Labour Force Survey has declined sharply since March 2020, falling by 780,000 (46%) in April. According to a survey of university students' living conditions, 37% were concerned about living expenses and tuition fees, and a higher percentage of students who were aware of financial insecurity had poor self-rated health.

Nearly half of working students have lost their jobs during the pandemic in Japan, which has affected their lives, studies, and health. There is a need to monitor the impact of economic insecurity on students' studies and health over time, and to expand the safety net for disadvantaged students.

Chronic exposure to infrared A (IR-A) irradiation causes photoaging. However, daily or acute exposure to IR-A rarely induces erythema or pigmentation. Thus, evaluation of the physiological changes taking place on the skin surface is insufficient for clinical investigations.

We fabricated a novel device to obtain the IR-A protection factor (IPF) on human skin. This device consists of an artificial light source that mimics the actual IR-A intensity of sunlight, and a spectrophotometer to measure the spectral reflectance on the skin surface. The IPF can be determined by measuring the difference in spectral reflectance on the skin before and after the use of products and can be verified by the statistical criterion. A validation study was performed using different light intensities and two experimenters. Finally, we monitored the IPF on 12 commercial cosmetics.

After considering the IPF and L*-values, we selected the optimal sample and performed a validation study. Neither the intensity of IR-A irradiation or the experimenters significantly affected the IPF.
