The incidence of breast cancer (**) in LMICs has increased by more than 20% within the last decade. In areas such as Latin America (LA), addressing ** at national levels evoke discussions surrounding fragmented care, limited resources, and regulatory barriers. Precision Medicine (PM), specifically companion diagnostics (CDx), links disease diagnosis and treatment for better patient outcomes. Thus, its application may aid in overcoming these barriers.
A panel of LA experts in fields related to ** and PM were provided with a series of relevant questions to address prior to a multi-day conference. Within this conference, each narrative was edited by the entire group, through numerous rounds of discussion until a consensus was achieved. The panel proposes specific, realistic recommendations for implementing CDx in ** in LA and other LMIC regions. In these recommendations, the authors strived to address all barriers to the widespread use and access mentioned previously within this manuscript.
This manuscript provides a review of the current state of CDx for ** in LA. Of most importance, the panel proposes practical and actionable recommendations for the implementation of CDx throughout the Region in order to identify the right patient at the right time for the right treatment.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is highly lethal. Surgery offers the only chance of cure, but 5-year overall survival (OS) after surgical resection and adjuvant therapy remains dismal. Adjuvant trials were mostly conducted in the West enrolling fit patients. Applicability to a general population, especially Asia has not been described adequately.
We aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes, prognostic factors of survival, pattern, and timing of recurrence after curative resection in an Asian institution.
The clinicopathologic and survival outcomes of 165 PDAC patients who underwent curative resection between 1998 and 2013 were reviewed retrospectively. Median age at surgery was 62.0 years. 55.2% were male, and 73.3% had tumors involving the head of pancreas. The median OS of the entire cohort was 19.7 months. Median OS of patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy was 23.8 months. Negative predictors of survival include lymph node ratio (LNR) of >0.3 (HR = 3.36, P = .001), tumor site involving the btio and status of PNI ought to be incorporated.

It evaluated movements, phenotypic abnormalities, hatching, cardiac function and heartbeat frequency, larvae length at 120hpf, and the apoptotic cells' fluorescence stained with acridine orange.
Embryonic exposure to 0.5% and 1% ethanol presented reduced body size, decreased heartbeat rate, higher numbers of apoptotic cells, and hatching time differences.
Our results suggest any ethanol exposure during embryogenesis can be harmful and reinforces zebrafish as a suitable model for fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).

In particular, the scientific and technical progress during the last decade is discussed. The newest hydrogel types, their synthesis, and many applications are presented. Advantages and performance improvements are described, along with their limitations.
Predicting the incidence of chemotherapy-triggered acute exacerbation of interstitial lung disease (AE-ILD) in patients with lung cancer is important because AE-ILD confers a poor prognosis. The Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), which is an inflammation-based index composed of serum levels of C-reactive protein and albumin, predicts prognosis in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) without ILD. In this study, we investigated AE-ILD and survival outcome based on the GPS in patients with ILD associated with SCLC who were receiving chemotherapy.
Medical records of patients who received platinum-based first-line chemotherapy between June 2010 and May 2019 were retrospectively reviewed to compare the incidence of AE-ILD and overall survival (OS) between GPS 0, 1, and 2.
Among our cohort of 31 patients, six (19.3%) experienced chemotherapy-triggered AE-ILD. The AE-ILD incidence increased from 9.5% to 25.0% and 50.0% with increase in GPS of 0, 1, and 2, respectively. Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed remarkable associations between GPS 2 and both AE-ILD (odds ratio for GPS 2, 18.69; p=0.046) and prognosis (hazard ratio of GPS 2, 13.52; p=0.002). Furthermore, median OS in the GPS 0, 1, and 2 groups was 16.2, 9.8, and 7.1months, respectively (p < 0.001).
Our results suggest that GPS 2 is both a predictor of risk of chemotherapy-triggered AE-ILD and a prognostic indicator in patients with ILD associated with SCLC. We propose that GPS may be used as a guide to distinguish chemotherapy-tolerant patients from those at high risk of AE-ILD.
