To describe the audio-vestibular disorders related to the newly SARS-CoV-2 infection, including the possible ototoxicity side-effects related to the use of drugs included in the SARS-CoV-2 treatment protocols. A systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA protocol. The Medline and Embase databases were searched from March 1, 2020 to April 9, 2021. Initially the search yielded 400 manuscripts, which were reduced to 15, upon the application of inclusion criteria. Here, we describe the advantage of using the tissue microarray (TMA) technology to analyze human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cerebral organoids. Compared with the conventional processing of individual samples, sectioning and staining of TMA slides are faster and can be automated, decreasing labor and reagent costs. The TMA technology faithfully captures cell morphology variations and detects specific biomarkers. The use of this technology can scale up organoid research results in at least two ways (1) in the number of specimens that can be analyzed simultaneously and (2) in the number of consecutive sections that can be produced for analysis with different probes and antibodies.Pyrethroid pesticides are frequently used for household insect control of insects and in agriculture and livestock. To investigate the impact of living with a cleft lip and/or cleft palate (CL/P) on sociodemographic variables, quality of life, aesthetics, life satisfaction, and social distress in Dutch-speaking adolescents and adults.
Cross-sectional study.
Thirty Dutch-speaking participants with a CL/P with a mean age of 26.93 years (SD = 11.69) and an age- and gender-matched control group of 30 participants (19 men and 11 women) without a CL/P with a mean age of 26.87 years (SD = 11.73).
Self-reported outcomes of sociodemographics, quality of life, aesthetics, life satisfaction, social distress, and impact of cleft on well-being and functioning.
No significant differences in educational level, employment, monthly net income, marital status, and having children were found between participants with and without a CL/P. In addition, quality of life, overall aesthetics, life satisfaction, and social distress did not differ between the 2 groups. Among participants with CL/P, there were no gender differences in the influence of their CL/P on daily functioning, well-being, social contacts, family life, applying for a job, work, education, or leisure time.
The findings revealed no differences between participants with and without a CL/P with regard to sociodemographics, quality of life, aesthetics, life satisfaction, or social distress. There were no gender differences in the influence of cleft on well-being and functioning. Longitudinal research can help determine possible fluctuations in the impact of living with a CL/P across the life span.

Poor sleep quality is associated with metabolic dysregulation and impaired healing. The purpose of the current study was to quantify the prevalence of poor sleep in patients with atraumatic foot and ankle (F&A) conditions and determine whether surgical treatment is associated with sleep quality improvement.
Patients scheduled for surgical management of atraumatic F&A conditions were enrolled by 4 fellowship-trained orthopaedic F&A surgeons between May 2018 and April 2019. Patients completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) pre- and postoperatively. The PSQI ranges from 0 to 21, with a score ≥5 indicative of poor sleep quality. Patients also reported their perception of how their current F&A pain influenced their sleep quality on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 indicated no influence and 10 indicated a strong influence (pain perception score Pallavis Mmr). Patients with known sleep disorders, acute surgical trauma, and infection were excluded.
A total of 115 patients were enrolled. The mean preoperative PSQI and PPS were 8.
