Pramipexole is the dopamine receptor agonist commonly used for treatment of PD, the effect of which on immunity played an important role in pathological process is also deserved to be further studied.

We observed the effect of pramipexole on behavior and central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory cytokines of Parkinson's Disease (PD) model rats.

We injected 3.0 μL lipopolysaccharide into the right substantia nigra compact (SNc) and ventral tegmental area (VTA) of sprague-dawley (SD) rats to establish PD models which were divided as treated group feeded with pramipexole for 14 d and untreated group feeded with saline. And SD rats were selected as control group feeded with saline. We conducted rotation test on PD model rats before and after treatment. We also performed euthanasia on all rats to obtain the striatum area and nearby tissues after treatment, measuring mRNA expression and concentration of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test and elisa method, respectively.

It was observed that the degree of behavior improvement in treated group was greater than that in untreated group. In addition, mRNA expression and concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-α in treated group were lower than those in untreated group and higher than those in control group.

Severe COVID-19 is associated with hypoxemic bilateral pneumonia that leads to mechanical ventilation in a considerable proportion of patients. To the best of our knowledge, there are no recommendations about the best time to initiate high flow nasal cannula (HFNC).

Retrospective study of all patients admitted for COVID-19 pneumonia who required HNFO between March 2020 and February 2021. Patients were grouped in early HNFC or late HNFC, according to the modified Kirby index.

53 patients were included. Forty-four of them were included in the early HFNC and 9 in late HNFC. There were no statistically significant clinical-epidemiological differences. Early use of HFNC was associated with a decrease in the need for intubation (29.5 vs. 66.6%, p = 0.044), hospital stay (18.8 d vs. 36 d, p = 0.022) and mortality (22.7 vs. 55.5%, p = 0.061).

Numerous observational studies, failure analyses, and "incidence of death" studies have confirmed that screening reduces deaths in the general population. Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) which collects mammographic images from different angles and uses them to synthesize planes through the breast is simply another advance in mammography among others that have been made over the years. DBT "absolutely" detects more cancers at a time when cure is more likely while also having the advantage of reducing recall rates. The Tomosynthesis Mammographic Imaging Screening Trial (TMIST) has been designed to compare DBT with 2-Dimensional Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM), but it's major design issues may provide misleading results. Instead of using a reduction in deaths as the endpoint, benefit in TMIST is predicated on a reduction in advanced cancers in the DBT group. This is a questionable "endpoint" (a reduction in advanced cancers is not necessary as proof of benefit). In addition, the trial may be underpowered so that even if DBT shows a benefit it may not be able to achieve "statistical significance". The six CISNET models of the National Cancer Institute have shown that annual mammography beginning at the age of 40 will save the most lives. Yet TMIST will only include women ages 45 and over and will screen postmenopausal women every two years instead of annually. Consequently, TMIST results may be used, inappropriately, to limit access to breast cancer screening starting at the age of 45, and only offer biennial screening for post-menopausal women.
Leg ulcers in adults are a major public health concern. Their incidence increases with age and many causes have been identified, predominantly associated with vascular diseases. Leg ulcers in children and teenagers are less frequent. The aim of our study was to identify the causes of leg ulcers in children and teenagers, and to evaluate their management.

This retrospective multicenter study was conducted by members of the Angio-dermatology Group of the French Society of Dermatology and of the French Society of Pediatric Dermatology. Data from children and teenagers (< 18 years), seen between 2008 and 2020 in 12 French hospitals for chronic leg ulcer (disease course>4 weeks), were included.

We included 27 patients, aged from 2.3 to 17.0 years. The most frequent causes of leg ulcer were general diseases (n=9 pyoderma gangrenosum, dermatomyositis, interferonopathy, sickle cell disease, prolidase deficiency, scleroderma, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome), vasculopathies (n=8 hemangioma, capillary malformation, arteriovenous malformation), trauma (n=4 bedsores, pressure ulcers under plaster cast), infectious diseases (n=4 pyoderma, tuberculosis, Buruli ulcer) and neuropathies (n=2).
