The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy were calculated. A subset analysis was performed to determine the effect of location and pathological type of the stricture on diagnostic performance, and complications were analyzed.The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy were 86.7%, 100%, 100%, 66.7%, and 89.5%, respectively, in group A, and 77.1%, 100%, 100%, 42.9%, and 80.4%, respectively, in group B. For hilar biliary strictures, the sensitivity and accuracy were superior in group A than in group B. Mild complications (transient c and bile leakage) were identified in 7 cases in each group, all resolved spontaneously within 3 to 5 days.Both brush cytology and forceps biopsy performed during percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiography provided good diagnostic sensitivity and accuracy. Therefore, both diagnostic approaches can play an important role in planning therapeutic strategy. Incidence rate and risk factors of MPE were analyzed statistically. The prognosis of NSCLC patients with MPE was evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method.The most common histologic type was adenocarcinoma in 95 (91.3%) patients. The median follow-up duration was 65.5 months and the median survival time was 37.7 months. MPE developed in 51 (49%) patients, and the median effusion-free interval was 41.9 months. The median survival time of the patients with and without MPE was not different (41.3 vs 31.7 months, P = .16). No predictive factors for the development of MPE were identified. Fifteen (14.4%) patients underwent invasive procedures for the management of MPE.Almost half of all patients with NSCLC and DPD experienced MPE, and 14.4% patients developed symptomatic MPE requiring invasive procedures. METHODS We identified relevant studies by searching electronic databases (e.g., PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library). Only studies published up to October 2019 comparing cognitive enhancer vs placebo for cognitive function after ECT were included. The primary outcome extracted from the studies was cognitive function score. RESULTS Five studies with 202 patients were included in this study. The cognitive enhancer group (CEG) had a significantly higher cognitive function score. Moreover, sensitivity analysis showed that no individual study had a significant impact on the overall results. CONCLUSIONS This meta-analysis revealed that cognitive enhancers might improve cognitive function and reduce ECT-induced cognitive side effects.
