This descriptive study analyzed four Asian dermatology journals listed in the science citation index expanded from January 2018 to December 2018. We investigated discrepancies between author-reported and actual study designs. Design Algorithm for Medical Literature on Intervention (DAMI) was used to determine the actual study design.
Of the 177 papers analyzed, only 72 articles (40.7%) revealed their study design and among them, 23 articles (32.0%) showed discrepancies between the author-reported and the actual study designs. Case-control studies were the most commonly misclassified study designs by authors.

To survey the Korean public's perception of skin health and dermatologists and skin-health-related behaviors.
A total of 355 participants of the Skin Health Expo 2018, held by the Dermatological Research Foundation of the Korean Dermatological Association from September 14 to 16, 2018, completed a questionnaire that assessed demographics, status, and behaviors regarding skin health. The questionnaire also included lifestyle characteristics, satisfaction, behavioral factors, and perceptions regarding skin-care products.
Participants were using various skin-care products including toners, lotions, hydrating or nutrition creams, sunscreens, essences, serums, facial masks and packs, body, hand, and foot moisturizers, eye creams, and hair products. The participants believed that the most reliable source of information on skin-care product recommendations was the dermatologist (41.55%). However, purchases were also being made at skin-care product stores (27.64%) based on the recommendation of a friend or acquaintance (40.11%). The results also revealed that 23.8% of participants experienced side effects from using skin-care and cosmetic products, and about 40% of participants could not yet distinguish hospitals run by dermatologists.
Demand for skin-care products has been increasing, and dermatologists should provide proper information about skin health to prevent adverse effects from skin-care products. Educational and informative activities, such as the expo planned by dermatologists, are necessary to improve skin health in the general population.

To evaluate the correlation between IGF-1 with bacterial index (BI) on leprosy patients in Bali.
Cross-sectional study in Sanglah Public General Hospital, Denpasar of patients with paucibacillary (PB) and multibacillary (MB) leprosy were assessed for BI using slit-skin smear. All patients were tested for plasma IGF-1 using chemiluminescent immunometric assay Immulite. All data were analyzed using IBM SPSS ver. 24.0. The study has been approved by local Institutional Review Board with ethical clearance number 2017.02.1.0356.
Our study involved 44 MB and 2 PB leprosy. The common age group affected was between 31~40 years old (23.9%), male (60.9%), and normal body mass index (BMI) (65.2%). Mean plasma IGF-1 level in PB leprosy was higher (91.07±0.74 ng/ml) than MB (82.74±6.44 ng/ml). The mean IGF-1 level decreases as BI increases in both groups (CI 95%=81.16~85.04;

We aimed to determine whether AhR-regulated factors (AhR, CYP1A1, interleukin [IL]-17, IL-22) were affected by AhR ligands (2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-
-dioxin, TCDD) in chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as PS and AD.
The expression levels of AhR-related factors were determined by quantitative PCR, western blotting, and immunocytochemistry. Specific siRNA targeting AhR was used to inhibit gene expression in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). Cytokine assays were performed to determine the protein production of CD4+ T cells.
In comparison with healthy controls, TCDD-treated PBMCs and CD4+ T cells from patients with PS and AD showed an increase in AhR gene levels as well as significantly increased expression of AhR-related factors (such as AhR, CYP1A1, IL-17, and IL-22).
