Background In the era of information explosion, the use of the internet to assist with clinical practice and diagnosis has become a cutting-edge area of research. The application of medical informatics allows patients to be aware of their clinical conditions, which may contribute toward the prevention of several chronic diseases and disorders. Objective In this study, we applied machine learning techniques to construct a medical database system from electronic medical records (EMRs) of subjects who have undergone health examination. This system aims to provide online self-health evaluation to clinicians and patients worldwide, enabling personalized health and preventive health. Methods We built a medical database system based on the literature, and data preprocessing and cleaning were performed for the database. We utilized both supervised and unsupervised machine learning technology to analyze the EMR data to establish prediction models. The models with EMR databases were then applied to the internet platfororm can increase the value of preventive medicine and telemedicine. Background Clinical governance of medical mobile apps is challenging, and there is currently no standard method for assessing the quality of such apps. In 2018, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) developed a framework for assessing the required level of evidence for digital health technologies (DHTs), as determined by their clinical function. The framework can potentially be used to assess mobile apps, which are a subset of DHTs. To be used reliably in this context, the framework must allow unambiguous classification of an app's clinical function. Objective The objective of this study was to determine whether mobile health apps could be reliably classified using the NICE evidence standards framework for DHTs. Methods We manually extracted app titles, screenshots, and content descriptions for all apps listed on the National Health Service (NHS) Apps Library website on July 12, 2019; none of the apps were downloaded. Using this information, 2 mobile health (mHealth) researchers indepenarchers to consistently and unambiguously classify digital health mobile apps listed on the NHS app library according to their functional tier. The seas worldwide are threatened by a "new" source of pollution. Munitions dumped into the seas worldwide will corrode and start to leak. Their impacts on the environment and on human health are now more than ever subject of scientific research. Bivalves are a first choice bioindicator and their importance is demonstrated in numerous worldwide studies as well as their integration in important monitoring programs. In this review, the use of mussels in context with marine pollutants in recent years is pointed out in general but with a special focus on dumped conventional and chemical munitions. Monitoring experiments with mussels are able to generate large data sets, which should be mandatory included in decision support tools to increase their weight of evidence. The usefulness of mussels with regard to dumped munitions has clearly been documented in recent years and the further application of this important biomonitoring system is strongly recommended. In order to investigate the combined toxicities of copper nanoparticles (nano-Cu) with microplastic on microalgae Skeletonema costatum, growth inhibition tests were carried out. The toxic effects of copper nanoparticles and microplastic on the microalgae under singleness and coexistence conditions were investigated. Both copper nanoparticles and microplastic inhibited the growth of S. costatum. The growth inhibition ratio (IR) increased with the increasing of particle concentrations and incubation time. The toxicity of copper nanoparticles was reduced with the addition of microplastic. The concentrations of Cu2+ in the medium with or without addition of microplastic were determined. It was found that adsorption of Cu2+ on microplastic and aggregation between copper nanoparticles and microplastic are the main reasons for attenuation of toxicity of nano-Cu with adding microplastic. The adhesion and aggregate interactions between microalgae and nanomaterial were also approved by the observations through scanning electron microscopy. The shelf waters off northeastern Sakhalin Island are the main feeding ground for the endangered western subpopulation of the gray whale Eschrichtius robustus. Amphipods, which dominate the benthic communities, are key dietary sources for the gray whales foraging in this area. To elucidate the trophic base supporting the large local amphipod biomass, fatty acid (FA) compositions and the stable isotope ratios δ13C and δ15N of the five most abundant amphipod species in the area were studied. The FA compositions were unusually similar (85% similarity) across the amphipod species although these species were represented by suspension-feeders, deposit-feeders and carnivores. https://www.selleckchem.com/MEK.html The FAs of diatom origin predominated in the FA profiles of all amphipods and decreased in accordance with the increase in trophic position as determined by δ15N values and the FA trophic markers of carnivorous feeding. These results suggested that diatoms are the single, main trophic basis that underpins the food web of the feeding grounds on the northeastern Sakhalin shelf. Further studies on factors influencing the local production of large diatoms on the Sakhalin shelf can be important for the prognosis of future changes of foraging resources of the gray whales. In the current frame of proliferation of artificial structures in the sea, the ecological effects of artificial substrates on marine environments and their associate biota become a topic of great scientific and conservationist interest. This study was focused on the amphipod communities from western Mediterranean Sea and tested, using the same secondary substrate, Ellisolandia elongata, if the community and trophic structure differ between artificial (two concrete-based cubes and tetrapods, and one natural rock-based rip-raps) and natural substrates. Results usually showed lower taxa number and diversity in artificial substrates, as well as differences in composition and trophic structure of the amphipod community. However, patterns were not consistent for all localities, evidencing the importance of local scale. Other potential factors, besides the substrate type, should be considered to understand particularities of each locality in management and conservation strategies.
