Pregnancy creates a unique window of opportunity for smoking cessation. However, pregnant women from underserved groups can face personal, social, and environmental challenges that impede quitting. This study draws upon the socioecological framework to explore perspectives on smoking cessation among pregnant and postpartum women from low-income groups in the mid-South of the United States.

Semistructured interviews were conducted with 60 women who were pregnant or postpartum. Data were analyzed in Dedoose qualitative software using the directed content analysis approach.

Findings reveal that at the individual level, motivations for smoking cessation included the fact of being pregnant, risks associated with the infant's health, and desire to breastfeed. However, some pregnant women perceived that slowing down on smoking during pregnancy was adequate to prevent harm to their fetuses. Individual-level factors that made smoking cessation difficult included nicotine addiction and habit, boredom, stressful lcessation outcomes.
This study offers theoretical insights into factors that function as barriers or facilitators of smoking cessation among pregnant and postpartum women from low-income groups in the United States. Designing multilevel smoking cessation interventions while considering the interplay of individual, interpersonal, organizational, and policy level factors may lead to better cessation outcomes.Plants have adapted to different environmental niches by fine-tuning the developmental factors working together to regulate traits. Charge density mapping of atrial fibrillation (AF) reveals dynamic localized rotational activation (LRA), irregular activation (LIA) and focal firing (FF). Their spatial stability, conduction characteristics and the optimal duration of mapping required to reveal these phenomena and has not been explored.

Bi-atrial mapping of AF propagation was undertaken using AcQMap (Acutus Medical) and variability of activation patterns quantified up to a duration of 30 s. The frequency of each pattern was quantified at each unique point of the chamber over two separate 30-s recordings before ablation and R
calculated to quantify spatial stability. Regions with the highest frequency were identified at increasing time durations and compared to the result over 30 s using Cohen's kappa. Properties of regions with the most stable patterns were assessed during sinus rhythm and extrastimulus pacing.

This meta-analysis aimed to assess whether there is an increase in the risk of osteoporosis, osteopenia and fractures in patients with psoriasis/PsA, compared with healthy individuals.

PubMed and Scopus were systematically searched from their inception to September 2020 to identify relevant studies. Relative risk, hazard ratio or odds ratio (OR), with their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were calculated and pooled using arandom-effectsmodel.

A total of 12 different studies, with a total of 199389296 participants, were included. Overall, no significant relationship was observed between psoriasis/PsA and the risk of osteoporosis (psoriasis OR = 1.28, 95%CI = 0.86-1.90; PsA OR = 1.32, 95%CI = 0.79-2.19) and osteopenia (psoriasis OR = 1.50, 95%CI = 0.75-3.02; PsA OR = 1.61, 95%CI = 0.67-3.85). However, in the subgroup analysis, psoriasis was significantly associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis in men (OR = 1.27, 95%CI = 1.02-1.59) and studies with cohort design (OR = 1.04, 95%CI = 1.003-1.09). Psoriasis was also related to the risk of osteopenia in studies on a combination of both genders (OR = 2.86, 95%CI = 2.70-3.02).
