Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has become first-line therapy for a wide range of thoracic aortic pathologies including traumatic thoracic aortic injury, type B aortic dissection, intramural thoracic aortic hematoma, and penetrating aortic ulcers. This study aims to analyze the progress made of thoracic stent graft devices, review the current Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved devices, and discuss the future technological advances.
In this paper, we will review the history of TEVAR and the development of the first iteration of devices. We will discuss the four currently available TEVAR devices, the GORE® TAG® (W. L. Gore and Associates, Flagstaff, Arizona), Medtronic Navion™ (Medtronic plc, Santa Rosa, California), Bolton RELAY® (Terumo Aortic, Sunrise, Florida), and the Zenith® Alpha™ Thoracic and the Zenith® Dissection Stent Graft (Cook Medical, Bloomington, Indiana), and the features and applications of each. Finally, future advancements in TEVAR technology and grafts currently undicability to different types of thoracic aortic pathologies and enhanced accuracy of deployment.The purpose of the current study was to explore the physical activity and screen time status among Chinese adolescents during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) lockdown and their association with mood disturbance and conflicts with parents. A total of 1,680 7th to 12th grade students enrolled at a large middle-high school located in Southwest China completed an online survey measuring mood states, physical activity, screen time, conflicts with parents, and body height and weight. Physical activity, particularly of at least 150 minutes' duration each week, significantly decreased the likelihood of negative mood among adolescents during lockdown. Screen time, specifically other than that spent on online study, had a negative association with mood, after controlling for the relevant variables (i.e., physical activity and body mass index). Less screen time and accumulating 150 minutes of physical activity were associated with fewer conflicts with parents. The objective of the current systematic review was to summarize the evidence regarding usability, acceptability, and adherence rates of mobile app interventions for prevention or treatment of depression. A literature search was conducted in relevant databases, including PubMed, PsycINFO, and Embase, for articles published between January 1, 2009, and August 1, 2019. Key terms used for searching included depression AND smartphone OR mobile AND application AND acceptability OR feasibility. Based on a full-text examination, seven studies were included for review. All studies were conducted in developed countries and five studies were developing a mobile app for depression treatment. The current study highlights the need for developers of mobile apps for individuals with mental health care needs to consider user acceptability and adherence rates. Innovation in designing a mobile app for individuals with depression is needed to improve the adherence rates of users. A study conducted in 2017 examined APRNs' attitudes toward suicide by analyzing quantitative data. After completing the survey, participants were able to comment on their experiences with suicide and provide opinions about the study. The comments yielded qualitative data that contain personal, powerful messages about the participants' experiences. Examining these comments raises awareness about our practice and experiences with suicide. [Journal of Psychosocial Nursing and Mental Health Services, 59(3), 35-43.].The aim of the current review is to describe the prevalence and demographic correlates of mental health disorders among undergraduate university students in the United States. A search strategy was built and conducted using PubMed, PsycINFO, and CINAHL to identify studies published between 2009 and 2019 on the prevalence of mental health disorders, as defined in the fourth and fifth editions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, in undergraduate students in the United States. A total of 12 studies were included in the final data extraction. The highest prevalence rates were identified in eating disorders, which ranged from 19% to 48%, followed by compulsive disorders (2% to 12.27%), depression (22%), posttraumatic stress disorder (8%), and sleep disorders (9.4% to 36%). The identified prevalence of mental health disorders is high, and the subsequent impact on this population is worrying. There is an urgent need to develop strategies for early screening and management of mental health services in university settings.
