In human PCa tissues, we observed a correlation between markers of LD and those of autophagy, which are associated with clinical and biological factors of disease aggressiveness. In addition, PLIN staining was associated with AR expression. In locally advanced PCa, p62, LC3, and PLIN were increased in extraprostatic areas where cancer cells are in contact with PPAT. Co-culture of PCa cell lines with adipocytes decreased autophagy activity and increased LD flux in PC3 cells. These results suggest an active process of lipophagy in PCa, linked to disease aggressiveness, to the proximity of PPAT, and induced in vitro in co-culture with adipocytes. To investigate the resuscitation effect of HbV on lethal hemorrhage and anti-arrhythmogenesis, we performed optical mapping analysis (OMP) and electrophysiological study (EPS) in graded blood exchange (85% blood loss) in the rat model. We also measured cardiac autonomic activity, as assessed by heart rate variability (HRV), and changes in plasma norepinephrine and left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) by echocardiography. Pathological study on Connexin43 was performed. A 5% albumin (ALB group), washed rat erythrocytes (wRBC group), and HbV (HbV group) were used as a resuscitation fluid. The survival effects over 24 hours were examined. All rats died in the ALB group, whereas almost all survived for 24-hours period in wRBC and HbV groups. OMP showed impaired action potential duration dispersion (APDd) in the ALB group, whereas normal APDs in HbV and wRBC groups. Lethal arrhythmias were induced by EPS in the ALB group, but not in wRBC and HbV groups. HRV indices, LVEF, Connexin43 were preserved in HbV and wRBC groups. In this study, piperine's preventative, simultaneous and curative effect in glucose-induced albumin glycation was examined by analyzing the structural and functional markers of albumin. The protective and antioxidant influence of piperine on erythrocytes was assessed by examining cellular membrane modifications with antioxidant status. Albumin glycation was performed in three different experimental sets of 21 days at 37°C in dark conditions-using different piperine concentrations (250, 500, and 1,000 μM) and time of addition of glucose (30 mM)/piperine (1,000 μM) in a respective solution at 10th day. Piperine with glycated albumin leads to decreased fructosamine, carbonyl group, and protein-bound glucose. It had protected free amino groups, thiol group, and reduced beta-amyloid, protein aggregates formation. The presence of piperine with glycated albumin prevented erythrocytes hemolysis, membrane modifications, and maintained the antioxidant status. Piperine showed the antiglycation effects in a dose-dependent manner, additionally, its pre-treatment exhibited maximum attenuation by manifesting its primarily preventive role. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS Piperine is a natural alkaloid compound found in pepper, has been reported to possess anti-cancer, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties. The present study evaluated the antiglycation potential of piperine in albumin's glycation and it displayed preventive action, protected erythrocytes from oxidative damage induced by glycated albumin. We concluded that the daily intake of piperine can be adequate to prevent glycation-induced diabetic complications development in hyperglycemic conditions.The current study adapted the Coronavirus 19 Phobia Scale into Arabic and tested the psychometric properties of the adapted version on 469 Arabic-speaking individuals (mean age = 29.57 years old; SD = 10.39; range = 9-71 years old). After confirmatory analysis found supporting evidence for the four-factor structure, consequent analysis on convergent and discriminant validity and reliability of the Arabic version are also supported. A 2 × 2 between-groups factorial multivariate analysis of variance was used to investigate individual differences in coronaphobia. Results show that there is no significant interaction effect between gender and marital status, λ = 0.973, F (8,460) = 1600, p = 0.121, partial η2  = 0. 014; however, the main effect for gender is statistically significant, λ = 0.925, F (4,464) = 9.367, p  less then  0.001, partial η2  = 0.075, power = 1.000, where women score higher than men on all coronaphobia factors. In addition, the main effect for marital status is also significant, λ = 0.923, F (4,464) = 4.701, p  less then  0.001, partial η2  = 0.039, power = 0.998, where singles score higher than married couples on only two coronaphobia factors Psychological and economic. Although well supported theoretically, empirical support for reduced adaptability in selfing species is limited. One limitation of classical theoretical models is that they assume pure additivity of the fitness-related traits that are under stabilizing selection, despite ample evidence that quantitative traits are subject to dominance. Here, we relax this assumption and explore the effect of dominance on a fitness-related trait under stabilizing selection for populations that differ in selfing rates. By decomposing the genetic variance into additional components specific to inbred populations, we show that dominance components can explain a substantial part of the genetic variance of inbred populations. We also show that ignoring these components leads to an upward bias in the predicted response to selection. Finally, we show that when considering the effect of dominance, the short-term evolutionary potential of populations remains comparable across the entire gradient in outcrossing rates, and genetic associations can even make selfing populations more evolvable on the longer term, reconciling theoretical, and empirical results.
