One major complication of the insertion of a peripheral venous catheter (PVC) is phlebitis, often resulting in delay of treatment, increased healthcare costs and prolonged hospitalization.
The current study sought to evaluate the effectiveness of a standardized PVC care bundle in increasing the compliance of PVC care and assessment and reduce the occurrences of phlebitis rates.
A pre and postimplementation audit approach was used in this study and adopted the Joanna Briggs Institute Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System and Getting Research into Practice program. This study was carried out in three phases over a 10-month period, from March 2017 to December 2017 across three medical wards in a hospital in Singapore with a sample size of 90 patients. The study involved educating nurses on phlebitis assessment, implementing a PVC care bundle and monitoring compliance. An audit tool comprising four criteria from the Joanna Briggs Institute Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System was den process of phlebitis and can aid in reducing the incidence of phlebitis. The nurses' compliance in practicing the PVC care bundle was determined by the post and preimplementation audits, thus, the audit approach was beneficial in translating evidence into practice.

Survivors experience significant physical and cognitive deficits; and accumulate a 43% risk of subsequent stroke. Effective evidence-based management of stroke is essential. The Stroke Foundation released Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Management in 2017. Within these guidelines, nutrition and hydration are recognized as important aspects of poststroke management. Audit criteria drawn from the guidelines focussed on the role of multidisciplinary screening, assessment, monitoring and treatment of dehydration and malnutrition; as well as provision of nutrition education and counselling relating to secondary prevention of stroke. The implementation team included dietetics, medical and nursing staff. The project was completed in the stroke unit at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre (Adelaide, South Australia).

We aimed to improve postoperative patient pain scores and reduce patient length of stay (LOS) with the implementation of the podiatric ERAS protocol (PEP).
ERAS provides an evidence-based interdisciplinary approach to the preparation and care of surgical patients. The core goals of ERAS promote accelerated patient recovery after surgery by incorporating broad patient education with strategies to reduce the physiologic stress associated with surgery and anesthesia.
