High-temperature stress (HTS) is one of the main environmental stresses that limit plant growth and crop production in agricultural systems. **** (Lepidium meyenii) is an important high-altitude herbaceous plant adapted to a wide range of environmental stimuli such as cold, strong wind and UV-B exposure. However, it is an extremely HTS-sensitive plant species. Thus far, there is limited information about gene/protein regulation and signaling pathways related to the heat stress responses in ****. In this study, proteome profiles of **** seedlings exposed to HTS for 12 h were investigated using a tandem mass tag (TMT)-based proteomic approach.

In total, 6966 proteins were identified, of which 300 showed significant alterations in expression following HTS. Bioinformatics analyses indicated that protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum was the most significantly up-regulated metabolic pathway following HTS. Quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis showed that the expression levels of 19 genes encoding proteins mapped to this pathway were significantly up-regulated under HTS. These results show that protein processing in the endoplasmic reticulum may play a crucial role in the responses of **** to HTS.

Our proteomic data can be a good resource for functional proteomics of **** and our results may provide useful insights into the molecular response mechanisms underlying herbal plants to HTS.

In the field of computational biology, analyzing complex data helps to extract relevant biological information. Sample classification of gene expression data is one such popular bio-data analysis technique. However, the presence of a large number of irrelevant/redundant genes in expression data makes a sample classification algorithm working inefficiently. Feature selection is one such high-dimensionality reduction technique that helps to maximize the effectiveness of any sample classification algorithm. Recent advances in biotechnology have improved the biological data to include multi-modal or multiple views. Different 'omics' resources capture various equally important biological properties of entities. However, most of the existing feature selection methodologies are biased towards considering only one out of multiple biological resources. Consequently, some crucial aspects of available biological knowledge may get ignored, which could further improve feature selection efficiency.

In this present workhouette and Davies-Bouldin (DB) and one external validity index Classification Accuracy (CA) are chosen for comparative study. Reported results are further validated through well-known biological significance test and visualization tool.
We examined how extra-hepatic comorbidity burden impacts mortality in patients with cirrhosis referred for liver transplantation (LT).

Adults with cirrhosis evaluated for their first LT in 2012 were followed through their clinical course with last follow up in 2019. Extra-hepatic comorbidity burden was measured using the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI). The endpoints were 90-day transplant free survival (Cox-Proportional Hazard regression), and overall mortality (competing risk analysis).

The study included 340 patients, mean age 56 ± 11, 63% male and MELD-Na 17.2 ± 6.6. The CCI was 0 (no comorbidities) in 44%, 1-2 in 44% and > 2 (highest decile) in 12%, with no differences based on gender but higher CCI in patients with fatty and cryptogenic liver disease. Thirty-three (10%) of 332 patients not receiving LT within 90 days died. The aim of this prospective randomized controlled study was to evaluate whether pretreatment with a small dose of dezocine could prevent remifentanil-induced cough in general anesthesia induction.

A total of 210 patients receiving elective operative hysteroscopy from December 2018 to April 2019 were enrolled in the present study. They were randomly equally separated into dezocine group (n= 105) and control group (n= 105). Patients were intravenously pre-administrated with dezocine 0.03 mg/kg (diluted to 5 mL) or the same volume of normal saline 1 min prior to remifentanil infusion. One minute later, intravenous injection of propofol 1.5 mg/kg and cisatracurium 0.1 mg/kg were given to all patients for induction of general anesthesia. The counts of coughs occurred during the anesthesia induction period were recorded and the severity of cough was scaled.

There were 7 cases of mild cough in dezocine group and 18 cases of mild cough, 12 cases of moderate cough and 4 cases of severe cough in control group. The incidence rate of cough was significantly lower and the severity of cough was obviously relieved in dezocine group compared to control group (6.67% vs. 32.38%, P < 0.001). The two groups were not significantly different in heart rate and mean arterial pressure before the induction, before and after the intubation, and in operating time and postoperative visual analog scale pain scores.

This study recommends the efficacy and safety of a pretreatment with a small dose of dezocine in reducing remifentanil-induced cough during general anesthesia.
