A total of 13 eligible studies with 1980 patients were included in this meta-analysis. Low NDRG2 expression was significantly associated with poor OS (HR = 1.96, 95% CI 1.60-2.40, P < .001) and DFS (HR = 2.70, 95% CI 1.42-5.13, P = .002) in solid tumor. Furthermore, low NDRG2 expression was related to some phenotypes of tumor aggressiveness, such as clinical stage (OR = 3.21, 95% CI 1.96-5.26, P < .001), lymph node metastasis (OR = 2.14, 95% CI 1.49-3.07, P < .001), and degree of differentiation (OR = 0.60, 95% CI 0.45-0.81, P = .001).
NDRG2 may be a meaningful biomarker of poor prognosis and a potential therapeutic target for human solid tumors.

Extensive review of literature showed that no available study in Nigeria has explored the impact of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) on the management of occupational stress among open and distance learning (ODL) centers science and social science education facilitators. Thus, this study determined the impacts of CBT on the management of occupational stress among science and social science education facilitators in ODL centers in South-South Nigeria.
A randomized controlled trial experimental design was adopted for the study with a sample size of 68 science and social science education facilitators in ODL centers in South-South states, Nigeria. Perceived stress scale (PSS) and Occupational stress index (OSI) were used for data collection. Using Cronbach alpha method, internal consistency reliability indices of 0.81 and 0.85 for PSS and OSI respectively were obtained in the Nigerian context. A 12-week cognitive behavior therapy intervention was conducted after which the participants in both the intervention group and the non-intervention group were administered posttest, while a follow-up assessment was administered after 2 months. Data collected were analyzed using mixed-design repeated-measures analysis of variance for the within-groups and between-groups effects.
It was found that CBT intervention led to a significant decrease in the occupational stress among science and social science education facilitators in ODL in the South-South region of Nigeria.

However, the mechanism involved in hyperprolactinemia in NFPA is not fully illustrated. The current study aims to investigate predictors for hyperprolactinemia in NFPA via analyzing relevant clinical features. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/nvl-655.html Thus, in this study, a cohort of 214 cases with integrated medical records was retrospectively analyzed concerning clinical, pathological, and endocrinological studies before and after surgery.Hyperprolactinemia happened in 93 cases (43.5%). Women (adjust odds ratio [OR] = 3.093; P less then .01), age of patients (adjust OR = 0.951; P less then .01), and serum free tetraiodothyronine (FT4) level (adjust OR = 0.882; P = .02) were independent predictors for developing preoperative hyperprolactinemia. Tumor size and hypopituitarism had no impact on hyperprolactinemia. During a median follow-up of 43.5 (range, 22-80) months, 83.9% patients with preoperative hyperprolactinemia experienced prolactin (PRL) normalization. Preoperative PRL level (adjusted OR = 1.741, P = .03) was the exclusive predictor for PRL normalization after adjusting for tumor volume, preoperative serum FT4 concentration, and postoperative residual. The PRL normalization rate of patients with lower PRL level ( less then 2.35-fold upper limit of normal range) was 95.2% and decreased to 65.5% for patients with higher PRL level. In conclusion, our results suggest existence of potentially alternative mechanisms underlying hyperprolactinemia in NFPAs, like the discrepancy of sex and age and the negative feedback of FT4. Preoperative PRL is a predictor for postoperative PRL normalization, which is of clinically relevant for postoperative management of NFPAs.Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) is a rare neoplasm of the salivary glands. The aim of this study is to review and evaluate clinicopathological features and treatment of EMC of salivary gland for better sensitivity and specificity of the diagnosis. The clinical and pathological data of the 10 salivary gland EMC cases from 2008 to 2017 were analyzed.Six cases of EMC were diagnosed to be originated from parotid gland and 4 cases were from the minor salivary gland including palate, tongue, and oropharynx. Seven cases were performed radical surgery and 3 cases had radiotherapy postoperation, 2 cases had a local recurrence. The follow-up period was 4 to 104 months and the survival rate was 100%. Histopathology showed the tumors had a dominant prototypical biphasic tubular structure consisting of inner, cuboidal ductal cells and an outer layer of clear, myoepithelial cells, which grew infiltratively. The immunohistochemistry (IHC) showed the marker proteins CK, S-100, CD117, and Calponin were strongly positive in most EMC.EMC is a rare and low-grade malignant tumor with good overall survival but relatively high tendency for local recurrence. Surgery is the priority choice for EMC therapy. Complete surgical excision and negative margins are necessary for good prognosis. Imaging techniques should be used to assess the neck dissection and it is unclear whether adjuvant radiotherapy is beneficial. To ensure the sensitivity and specificity of the EMC diagnosis, we should perform both pathological and IHC analysis. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between long-term spinal mobility improvements and early disease activity changes or achievement of clinical response criteria in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) treated with tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) blockers. This retrospective study included 112 patients with AS treated with TNF-α blockers for up to 33 months. The paired t-test was used to compare outcome measures between visits. The correlation between disease activity changes and metrological improvements was analyzed using cumulative probability plots, Spearman correlation coefficient, and canonical correlation. The difference in metrological outcomes between responders and non-responders to clinical response criteria was also examined.Metrological and disease activity outcomes improved most markedly in month 3. All disease activity outcomes and ESR from baseline to month 3 (3-month) were significantly correlated with the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI10) improvements from baseline to month 33 (33-month).
