The evolving climate change and growing population have posed grand challenges to the objective of feeding the world, making it essential to invest research efforts to develop multi-omics resources and advanced breeding tools to support fast and continuous development of improved pea varieties. Recently, the pea researchers have achieved key milestones in omics and molecular breeding. The present review provides an overview of the recent important progress including the development of genetic resource databases, high-throughput genotyping assays, reference genome, genes/QTLs responsible for important traits, transcriptomic, proteomic, and phenomic atlases of various tissues under different conditions. These multi-faceted resources have enabled the successful implementation of various markers for monitoring early-generation populations as in marker-assisted backcrossing breeding programs. The emerging new breeding approaches such as CRISPR, speed breeding, and genomic selection are starting to change the paradigm of pea breeding. Collectively, the rich omics resources and omics-enable breeding approaches will enhance genetic gain in pea breeding and accelerate the release of novel pea varieties to meet the elevating demands on productivity and quality.
To evaluate the productivity difference between teaching and non-teaching workflow models in an abdominal imaging division in an academic radiology department.

RVU data were compiled for six faculty members from the abdominal imaging division over a six-month period. Modalities included ultrasound and CT of the abdomen and pelvis. The relative RVU productivity for faculty members by workflow was compared individually and the composite data for the workflow models were compared. The relative RVU productivity for each faculty member was compared individually and in aggregate to study the effect of the workflow models on RVUs using factorial ANOVA. Daily RVU data from 387 instances were analyzed. Daily RVUs for faculty members ranged from 23.5 ± 2.3 (mean ± standard error) to 46.2 ± 2.4 with non-teaching and from 29.8 ± 2.2 to 54.4 ± 2.7 with teaching workflow, respectively. There was a significant main effect of the workflow model on RVU productivity (p < 0.05). A significant increase of 27.8% in RVUs was noted with teaching workflow (42.8 ± 0.9) relative to non-teaching workflow (33.5 ± 1.7; p < 0.05). Teaching workflow resulted in significantly higher view-final and complete-final TATs (593 ± 112min, mean ± SE and 841 ± 96min, mean ± SE, respectively) compared to the non-teaching workflow (385 ± 124min).

During the COVID-19 pandemic there has been a massive reduction of arthroplasty services due to reallocation of hospital resources. The unique challenge for clinicians has been to define which arthroplasty patients most urgently require surgery. The present study aimed to investigate priority arthroplasty procedures during the pandemic and in the reinstatement period from the surgeon's perspective.

An online survey was conducted among members of the European Hip Society (EHS), European Knee Associates (EKA) and other invited orthopaedic arthroplasty surgeons (experts) from across the world. The survey consisted of 17 different arthroplasty procedures/indications of which participants were asked to choose and rank the most important 10.

Four hundred and thirty-nine arthroplasty surgeons from 44 countries responded. The EHS and EKA had a 43% response rate of members. In weighted average points, the majority of respondents (67.5 points) ranked 'acute fractures requiring arthroplasty (Periprosthetic fracturs arthroplasty procedures are being resumed in most countries now, there has also been a relaxation of lockdown rules in most countries, which might cause a so-called second wave of the pandemic. Therefore, the results of the current study present a proposal by experts as to which operations should be prioritised in the setting of a second wave of the pandemic.
To compare the radiographic, clinical, and arthroscopic outcomes of varus osteoarthritic knees treated with an open-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) alone or with a double-level osteotomy (DLO). It was hypothesized that treatment with DLO would maintain the joint line obliquity (JLO) and acquire better arthroscopic and clinical outcomes after surgery than OWHTO alone.

Knees with predicted medial proximal tibial angle (MPTA) > 95° were treated with OWHTO alone or with DLO. Preoperatively, age, body mass index, and hip-knee-ankle angle (HKA) differed between the two groups. Therefore, after adjustment for those factors, 34 knees with OWHTO alone and 34 knees with DLO were compared. On whole-leg radiographs for a single leg, HKA, weightbearing line (WBL) ratio, lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA), MPTA, and JLO were measured before and 2years after surgery. Clinical outcomes were evaluated by the Knee Society Score (KSS) knee, KSS function, Lysholm, and Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) scores before and 2years after surgery.
