The aim To define the level of pro- and anti-inflammatory IL-1β, IL-10 in the oral fluid of children with chronic gastroduodenitis, depending on the level of IkBα expression.
Materials and methods Studiing the oral fluid and scraping of the gums of 50 children 6-12 years old was carried out to determine the level of IL-1β, IL-10 and IkBα. The children were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 - 10 children with healthy periodontium and without somatic diseases. 2nd group - 20 somatically healthy children with chronic catarrhal gingivitis. The third group (20 children) of children with gastroduodenitis and chronic catarrhal gingivitis. The determination of the mRNA expression of the IkBα geneand the level of IL-10 and IL-1β in the oral fluid was carried out by real-time PCR.
Results We determined that the level of pro-inflammatory IL-1β in the oral fluid of primary school children had different levels in accordance with the state of dental and somatic health. It was the lowest in somatically healthy children wry response associated with chronic catarrhal gingivitis and with chronic gastroduodenitis.
The aim To obtain the first estimates data on the occurrence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in a wide range of fresh vegetables available in the Kyiv city markets.
Materials and methods We performed a multicenter study. Fresh vegetables samples were collected of the six different commodity groups from eleven of retail stores locatedin Kyiv, Ukraine. Samples were tested for up to eight bacteria of concern. The susceptibility to antibiotics was determined by disk diffusion method according to the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.
Results The antibiotic-resistant bacteria contamination in the fresh vegetables was 24.3%. The contamination among organic produce was significantly higher than in conventionally products. Contamination was found to be higher in leafy vegetables. The predominant contaminated bacteria were Escherichia coli, Enterobacter spp. And Enterococcus faecalis, followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/bzatp-triethylammonium-salt.html faecium, Staphylococcus aureus and Acinetns to consumers.
The aim To study the relationship between zonulin level and PNFI (pediatric non-alcoholic fatty liver disease fibrosis index) in obese adolescents.
Material and methods A total of fifty-nine obese subjects aged 12-17 years and thirteen healthy subjects were included in the study. Clinical, biochemical parameters, including serum zonulin, were examined and abdominal ultrasound examination was performed. For the assessment of liver fibrosis PNFI was calculated.
Results According to ultrasound examination 71,2% of obese adolescents had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Calculation of PNFI showed that 25,4% of obese subjects had fibrotic processes in the liver. Obese adolescents had significantly higher zonulin levels compared to normal weight peers - 91,8±3,1 vs 15,9±5,1 respectively (р<0,01). A significant positive correlation was established between zonulin levels and such parameters as body mass index, waist circumference / height ratio, triglycerides, very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, insulin, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance, PNFI (p<0,05).

The aim To investigate the effectiveness of usage of the free radical scavenger Edaravone in the therapy of women with AIS.
Materials and methods A prospective study was conducted of 48 women with AIS, divided into two groups. Patients in the first group (n = 36) were treated with edaravone 30 mg twice a day intravenously. Neuroprotectors were not used in the control group (n = 12). Clinical-instrumental and neurological examination (Glasgow scale (SCG), FOUR, NIHSS, and neuronspecific enolase (NSE) levels) were performed on all patients.
Results The mean FOUR score in the 1th group increased from 11.04±0.85 to 15.47±0.63 points against 11.39±0.56 to 13.46±1.49 in the control group (pp<0.05). The level of NSE in control group patients increased 10-fold (from 9.2 to 96.4 ng/ml, p<0.01). Subsequently, there was a rapid decrease in NSE level in 1th group, and in the control group until 10 days of treatment, the level of NSE did not reach the reference values (p p<0.05).
Conclusions The introduction of edaravone in women with AIS results in positive results already in the acute period of the disease. The use of edaravon was significantly effective on the FOUR scale and the dynamics of NSE levels.

The aim To research differences of interleukin (IL)-17 and IL-23 serum levels in patients with Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
Material and methods Serum levels of IL-17 and IL-23 were measure by ELISA for 15 patients with Alzheimer's disease, 14 with vascular dementia, 30 with mild cognitive impairment and 30 control individuals without cognitive impairment.
Results Serum concentrations of IL-17 were significantly higher in Alzheimer's disease patients (P=0.0023) than control, in vascular dementia no significant differences(P=0.4154). Level of IL-23 was significantly higher than control in Alzheimer's disease patients (P=0.0170) and vascular dementia (P=0.0002), but in Alzheimer's disease it was in 12.5 time higher. In total mild cognitive impairment patients no significant differences in interleukin concentration with control, but significant differences observed for amnestic form in IL-17 (P=0.0436) and IL-23 (P=0.0019).

A retrospective study was conducted on 21 consecutive patients who presented with unilateral combined orbital floor and medial wall fractures in Tianjin Medical University General Hospital between November 2010 and January 2016. The orbital fractures were repaired with two separated titanium mesh plates. The corner at the transition zone area between the orbital floor and the medial wall was reconstructed simultaneously through a combined transcaruncular and inferioreconstruction of the special orbital shape and the complete return reposition of prolapsed intraorbital soft tissues were intended.
In cases of unilateral concomitant orbital floor and medial wall fractures, two titanium mesh plates implantation is a safe and effective procedure. It is worthwhile to take the technique into account when the key points to consider when applying this method include reconstruction of the special orbital shape and the complete return reposition of prolapsed intraorbital soft tissues were intended.

We here investigated the effects of BRS on the resuscitation of hemorrhagic shock models and compared the resuscitation performance of three crystalloids, including BRS, acetated Ringer's solution (ARS), and normal saline.

Intracellular ROS production was determined by measuring uptake of dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (DCFH-DA; PCR was used to assay the mRNA expression of STAT3 gene bearing predicted targeting positions for miR-495, while qRT-PCR was used to measure miR-495 mRNA.

Due to the special anatomy morphology and physiological function of the mandible, it has always become a challenge to accurately reconstruct the mandibular defect in maxillofacial surgery. Digital three dimensions (3D) printing surgical guide, as the effective method for individual and accurate surgery, is a hotspot of clinical research at present. In this study, 3D printing PLA surgical guide plate was applied to reconstruct the mandibular defect with fibula flap, its clinical effect and accuracy were evaluated, which aimed to improve the accurate reconstruction of mandibular defects.
After sterilization, the dimension deformation of the PLA standard specimen were measured. Eighteen patients diagnose with mandibular tumor were collected as observation objects. Then partial mandible resection and simultaneous mandible reconstruction with fibula graft were implemented according to the computer-aided design plan. The clinical effects of 3D printing PLA guide plates application were evaluated by facial contohe horizontal contained angle were 128.34±8.68 mm, 88.69±6.75 mm and 145.87°±12.01°. Compared with preoperative design, the maximum deviation of the actual postoperative registration was 1.67±0.63, and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).
The application of 3D printing PLA guide plate in the segmental section and reconstruction of the mandible can effectively simplify the operation, and better reconstruct the continuity of the mandible. The surgical accuracy can fully meet clinical needs with relatively low prices.

To evaluate the efficacy of combined medication of risedronate sodium and raloxifene, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) on the postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP). PMOP patients underwent the combined medication of risedronate sodium and raloxifene (SERM, Treatment group), or only medication of risedronate sodium (Control group). After medication, more significant increases were observed in the bone densities of the lumber vertebra (L) and the neck of left femur of patients in the treatment group. Simultaneously, the levels of estrogen and progesterone in serum decreased sharply in the treatment group. After treatment, P1NP and β-CTX levels in serum decreased significantly in two groups in comparison with the levels prior to treatment, with evident elevations in the levels of BAP and BGP; similarly, ameliorations in the treatment group were **** more evident than those in the control group. In addition, significant declines were identified in the VAS scores of two groups after treatment when comparing to the scores prior to the treatment, and the decline in the treatment group was more evident than that in the control group. To evaluate the efficacy of combined medication of risedronate sodium and raloxifene, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) on the postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP). PMOP patients underwent the combined medication of risedronate sodium and raloxifene (SERM, Treatment group), or only medication of risedronate sodium (Control group). After medication, more significant increases were observed in the bone densities of the lumber vertebra (L) and the neck of left femur of patients in the treatment group. Simultaneously, the levels of estrogen and progesterone in serum decreased sharply in the treatment group. After treatment, P1NP and β-CTX levels in serum decreased significantly in two groups in comparison with the levels prior to treatment, with evident elevations in the levels of BAP and BGP; similarly, ameliorations in the treatment group were much more evident than those in the control group. In addition, significant declines were identified in the VAS scores of two groups after treatment when comparing to the scores prior to the treatment, and the decline in the treatment group was more evident than that in the control group. We have treated two women with ulnar nerve injuries after removal of such implants. Patient 1 sustained a near complete nerve injury. Despite nerve grafting and a distal nerve transfer, she had a poor outcome. Patient 2 had a partial injury and has made a reasonable recovery after neurolysis of the ulnar nerve that was entrapped in scar tissue.
Prognosis after peripheral nerve injuries in the upper arm in adults is poor, and as such these injuries are particularly serious. Any patient with an implant that is not readily palpable in the subcutaneous tissue should be referred to a hand surgeon who has training in exploring peripheral nerves. If emergent nerve injury is suspected, referral to a department of hand surgery is vital.

Pheochromocytoma is referred to as 'the great mimic' with a broad spectrum of presenting symptoms. In the following case, the diagnosis had an unusual presentation as a medical emergency - pheochromocytoma crisis.
A previously healthy woman in her fifties was admitted due to abdominal pain and dyspnoea. At admission she was haemodynamically stable, with stable respiration, but arterial blood gas showed serious lactic acidosis with pH 6.8 (7.35-7.45), HCO33mmol/l (22-26) and lactate 28mmol/L (0.4-1.8). Her haemoglobin level was 12g/dl (11,7-17,0). Further examination with CT and gastroscopy confirmed a duodenal bleeding. The lactic acidosis was corrected quickly, but the patient developed acute kidney injury, rhabdomyolysis and increased liver enzymes. The complex composition of organ manifestations could not be explained by the duodenal bleeding alone. An adrenal mass with high density was identified through re-evaluation of the CT scans. In the following case, a duodenal bleeding provoked catecholamine-induced haemodynamic instability and end-organ damage in a patient with an undiagnosed pheochromocytoma.

The I-iothalamate clearance and Tc diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic acid (Tc-DTPA) split scan nuclear medicine studies are used among living kidney donor candidates to determine measured glomerular filtration rate (mGFR) and split-scan ratio (SSR). The CT-derived cortical-volume ratio (CVR) is a novel measurement of split-kidney function and can be combined with predonation estimated GFR (eGFR) or mGFR to predict postdonation kidney function. Whether predonation SSR predict postdonation kidney function better than predonation CVR and whether predonation mGFR provides additional information beyond predonation eGFR is unknown.
We performed a single-center retrospective analysis of 204 patients who underwent kidney donation between 06/2015-03/2019. The primary outcome was 1-year postdonation eGFR. Model bases were created from a measure of predonation kidney function (mGFR or eGFR) multiplied by the proportion that each nondonated kidney contributed to predonation kidney function (SSR or CVR). Multivariable elastic net regression with 1,000 repetitions was used to determine the mean and 95%CI of R, root mean square error (RMSE), and proportion overprediction ≥15 mL/min/1.73m between models.
In validation cohorts, eGFR-CVR models performed best (R 0.547, RMSE 9.2 mL/min/1.73m, proportion overprediction 3.1%) whereas mGFR-SSR models performed worst (R 0.360, RMSE 10.9 mL/min/1.73m, proportion overprediction 7.2%) (P<.001 for all comparisons).

We report a squeaking knee complication on weight-bearing and active flexion-extension because of a migrating nonabsorbable FiberWire suture in a 16-year-old boy who underwent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery. Although not physically limiting, the noise caused psychological distress in our patient as a young adult. As the noise did not resolve with nonsurgical treatment, we performed arthroscopic surgical correction and removed loose FiberWire strands protruding from the femoral tunnel which completely eliminated the sound.

Sparse literature exists comparing prehospital scene and transport time management intervals between adult and pediatric trauma patients. National Emergency Medical Services guidelines recommend that trauma scene time be less than 10 minutes. The objective of this study was to examine prehospital time intervals in adult and pediatric trauma patients. METHODS We performed a retrospective cohort study of blunt and penetrating trauma patients in a five-county region in North Carolina using prehospital records. We included patients who were transported emergency traffic directly from the scene by ground ambulance to a Level I or Level II trauma center between 2013-2018. We defined pediatric patients as those less than 16 years old. Urbanicity was controlled for using the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid's Ambulance Fee Schedule. We performed descriptive statistics and linear mixed-effects regression modeling. RESULTS A totalorter scene time. Males, non-White patients, and patients in urban environments tended to have shorter transport times. Future studies with outcomes data are needed to identify factors that prolong out-of-hospital time and to assess the impact of out-of-hospital time on patient outcomes.INTRODUCTION Emergency medical services (EMS) systems exist to provide prehospital care in diverse environments throughout the world. Advanced Life Support (ALS) services can provide advanced care including 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), endotracheal intubation and parenteral medication administration. Basic Life Support (BLS) can provide basic care such as splinting, wound care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. ALS can release patients to BLS for transport to the hospital, and this is an area of high risk. Our study examines patients who were triaged and admitted to a critical care location, including an intensive care unit (ICU), cardiac catheterization laboratory, or operating room (OR). METHODS The analysis included data from 2007-2015 of all patients who were triaged. We evaluated demographics, admission diagnoses, and dispositions using descriptive statistics. Diagnoses were grouped into categories based on the system. RESULTS We found that 372/17,639 (2%) of patients were mistriaged to BLS and admitted to a critical care location. The average age was 64. The most common diagnosis categories were neurological (24%), gastrointestinal (GI)/abdominal pain (15%), respiratory (12%), and cardiac (12%). CONCLUSION It is uncommon for patients triaged from ALS to BLS to be admitted to an ICU, catheterization lab or OR, with a rate of 2%. Neurological, GI, respiratory, and cardiac diagnoses were the most frequent categories of patient complaints that were mistriaged. Adult patients with an EMS provider impression of "stroke/TIA," "CVA," or "neurological problem" were included for analysis. EMS protocols mandated the use of the Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Score (CPSS). The novel protocol authorized the use of the mRACE score to identify candidates for triage directly to the comprehensive stroke center. Sparse literature exists comparing prehospital scene and transport time management intervals between adult and pediatric trauma patients. National Emergency Medical Services guidelines recommend that trauma scene time be less than 10 minutes. The objective of this study was to examine prehospital time intervals in adult and pediatric trauma patients. METHODS We performed a retrospective cohort study of blunt and penetrating trauma patients in a five-county region in North Carolina using prehospital records. We included patients who were transported emergency traffic directly from the scene by ground ambulance to a Level I or Level II trauma center between 2013-2018. We defined pediatric patients as those less than 16 years old. Urbanicity was controlled for using the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid's Ambulance Fee Schedule. We performed descriptive statistics and linear mixed-effects regression modeling. RESULTS A totalorter scene time. Males, non-White patients, and patients in urban environments tended to have shorter transport times. Future studies with outcomes data are needed to identify factors that prolong out-of-hospital time and to assess the impact of out-of-hospital time on patient outcomes.INTRODUCTION Emergency medical services (EMS) systems exist to provide prehospital care in diverse environments throughout the world. Advanced Life Support (ALS) services can provide advanced care including 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), endotracheal intubation and parenteral medication administration. Basic Life Support (BLS) can provide basic care such as splinting, wound care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. ALS can release patients to BLS for transport to the hospital, and this is an area of high risk. Our study examines patients who were triaged and admitted to a critical care location, including an intensive care unit (ICU), cardiac catheterization laboratory, or operating room (OR). METHODS The analysis included data from 2007-2015 of all patients who were triaged. We evaluated demographics, admission diagnoses, and dispositions using descriptive statistics. Diagnoses were grouped into categories based on the system. RESULTS We found that 372/17,639 (2%) of patients were mistriaged to BLS and admitted to a critical care location. The average age was 64. The most common diagnosis categories were neurological (24%), gastrointestinal (GI)/abdominal pain (15%), respiratory (12%), and cardiac (12%). CONCLUSION It is uncommon for patients triaged from ALS to BLS to be admitted to an ICU, catheterization lab or OR, with a rate of 2%. Neurological, GI, respiratory, and cardiac diagnoses were the most frequent categories of patient complaints that were mistriaged. This study should lead to further studies to examine this patient population.INTRODUCTION There is considerable interest in triaging victims of large vessel occlusion (LVO) strokes to comprehensive stroke centers. Subsequently, several studies reported hypocalcemia as a highly prevalent biochemical abnormality in COVID-19 patients with a marked negative influence on disease severity, biochemical inflammation and thrombotic markers, and mortality. Also a high prevalence of vertebral fractures with worse respiratory impairment in patients affected and a widespread vitamin D deficiency have been frequently observed, suggesting an emerging "Osteo-Metabolic Phenotype" in COVID-19.To date, several potential pathophysiological factors have been hypothesized to play a role in determining hypocalcemia in COVID-19 including calcium dependent viral mechanisms of action, high prevalence of hypovitaminosis D in general population, chronic and acute malnutrition during critical illness and high levels of unbound and unsaturated fatty acids in inflammatory responses.Since hypocalcemia is a frequent biochemical finding in hospitalized COVID-19 patients possibly predicting worse outcomes and leading to acute cardiovascular and neurological complications if severe, it is reasonable to assess, monitor and, if indicated, replace calcium at first patient hospital evaluation and during hospitalization.

Nalmefene, as an opioid receptor modulator, could pharmacologically support the reduction of drinking by reducing the (anticipated) rewarding effects of alcohol and expanding the range of treatment options. It has been hypothesized that nalmefene acts via an indirect modulation of the mesolimbic reward system. So far, only a few imaging findings on the neuronal response to nalmefene are available.
We tested the effect of a single dose of 18 mg nalmefene on neuronal cue-reactivity in the ventral and dorsal striatum and subjective craving.
Eighteen non-treatment-seeking participants with alcohol use disorder (67% male, M = 50.3 ± 13.9 years) with a current high-risk drinking level (M = 76.9 ± 52 g of pure alcohol per day) were investigated using a cue-reactivity task during functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study/design. In addition, self-reported craving was assessed before and after exposure to alcohol cues.
An a priori defined region of interest (ROI) analysis of fMRI data from 15 participants revealed that nalmefene reduced alcohol cue-reactivity in the ventral, but not the dorsal striatum. Additionally, the subjective craving was significantly reduced after the cue-reactivity task under nalmefene compared to placebo.
In the present study, reduced craving and cue-reactivity to alcohol stimuli in the ventral striatum by nalmefene indicates a potential anti-craving effect of this drug via attenuation of neural alcohol cue-reactivity.

The International FD/MAS Consortium recently encouraged using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PEDS-QL) and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression scales (HADS) in clinical care. The study included 177 (82 female and 95 male) JIA patients that received ≥ 1 BAs. Mean age at diagnosis of JIA was 9.1 ± 4.9 years. BAs were prescribed a median of 14 months (range 3-66 months) after diagnosis. Among the 177 patients, 31 (17.5%) required BA switching a median 10.5 months (range 3-38 months) after initiation of the first BA. Among all the BAs that were switched to after administration of the first BA, tocilizumab was the most commonly switched (n = 15). The most common reason for BA switching was inadequate response (n = 29). BAs were switched 2 times in 5 patients and 3 times in 1 patient. When patients that switched BAs 1 time were compared to those that switched 2 and 3 times there were not any differences in terms of JIA types, whereas those that switched 2 and 3 times had a higher active joint count and JADAS71 score after 6 months of initiation of the first BA. As some of the JIA patients could not achieve remission despite using the prescribed BA, BA switching was required. Herein, we provide data on both BA switching patterns and requirements, which may improve the management of JIA patients.

Randomized, double-blind, controlled trials were conducted in female patients (ASA I-II, aged 20 to 60 years). The patients were randomly allocated into two groups. Approximately 15min before the end of the surgery, dexmedetomidine was administered (0.6µg/kg/h) without a loading dose in group D (n = 69), and normal saline was administered in group S (n = 70) at the same infusion rate. Hemodynamic data, coughing reflex, extubation time, Ramsay sedation scale (RSS), and recovery time were assessed during the administration of the study drugs and recovery from anesthesia. The amount of postoperative hemorrhage was measured for 3 days.
Data from a total of 139 patients were analyzed. The incidence of severe cough was significantly lower in group D than in group S (4.3 % vs. 11.5 %, P = 0.022). The emergence agitation in the postanesthetic care unit was significantly lower in group D than in group S (P = 0.01). Postoperative bleeding was significantly lower in group D than in group S until the second postoperative day (P = 0.015).

Clustering is a crucial step in the analysis of single-cell data. Clusters identified in an unsupervised manner are typically annotated to cell types based on differentially expressed genes. In contrast, supervised methods use a reference panel of labelled transcriptomes to guide both clustering and cell type identification. Supervised and unsupervised clustering approaches have their distinct advantages and limitations. Therefore, they can lead to different but often complementary clustering results. Hence, a consensus approach leveraging the merits of both clustering paradigms could result in a more accurate clustering and a more precise cell type annotation.
We present SCCONSENSUS, an [Formula see text] framework for generating a consensus clustering by (1) integrating results from both unsupervised and supervised approaches and (2) refining the consensus clusters using differentially expressed genes. The value of our approach is demonstrated on several existing single-cell RNA sequencing datasets, including data from sorted PBMC sub-populations.

The interactions of proteins are determined by their sequences and affect the regulation of the cell cycle, signal transduction and metabolism, which is of extraordinary significance to modern proteomics research. Despite advances in experimental technology, it is still expensive, laborious, and time-consuming to determine protein-protein interactions (PPIs), and there is a strong demand for effective bioinformatics approaches to identify potential PPIs. Considering the large amount of PPI data, a high-performance processor can be utilized to enhance the capability of the deep learning method and directly predict protein sequences.
We propose the Sequence-Statistics-Content protein sequence encoding format (SSC) based on information extraction from the original sequence for further performance improvement of the convolutional neural network. The original protein sequences are encoded in the three-channel format by introducing statistical information (the second channel) and bigram encoding information (thod may be useful for analyzing protein sequence-related tasks. The proposed protein sequence encoding method is efficient at improving the capability of the CNN model on protein sequence-related tasks and may also be effective at enhancing the capability of other machine learning or deep learning methods. Plant defensins are a broadly distributed family of antimicrobial peptides which have been primarily studied for agriculturally relevant antifungal activity. Recent studies have probed defensins against Gram-negative bacteria revealing evidence for multiple mechanisms of action including membrane lysis and ribosomal inhibition. Herein, a truncated synthetic analog containing the γ-core motif of Amaranthus tricolor DEF2 (Atr-DEF2) reveals Gram-negative antibacterial activity and its mechanism of action is probed via proteomics, outer membrane permeability studies, and iron reduction/chelation assays.

Clusters identified in an unsupervised manner are typically annotated to cell types based on differentially expressed genes. In contrast, supervised methods use a reference panel of labelled transcriptomes to guide both clustering and cell type identification. Supervised and unsupervised clustering approaches have their distinct advantages and limitations. Therefore, they can lead to different but often complementary clustering results. Hence, a consensus approach leveraging the merits of both clustering paradigms could result in a more accurate clustering and a more precise cell type annotation. We present SCCONSENSUS, an [Formula see text] framework for generating a consensus clustering by (1) integrating results from both unsupervised and supervised approaches and (2) refining the consensus clusters using differentially expressed genes. The value of our approach is demonstrated on several existing single-cell RNA sequencing datasets, including data from sorted PBMC sub-populations. Despite advances in experimental technology, it is still expensive, laborious, and time-consuming to determine protein-protein interactions (PPIs), and there is a strong demand for effective bioinformatics approaches to identify potential PPIs. Considering the large amount of PPI data, a high-performance processor can be utilized to enhance the capability of the deep learning method and directly predict protein sequences. We propose the Sequence-Statistics-Content protein sequence encoding format (SSC) based on information extraction from the original sequence for further performance improvement of the convolutional neural network. The original protein sequences are encoded in the three-channel format by introducing statistical information (the second channel) and bigram encoding information (thod may be useful for analyzing protein sequence-related tasks. The cut-off scores for depression were (1) < 10, no depression or minimal depression; (2) 10‒18, mild to moderate depression; (3) 19‒29, moderate to severe depression; and (4) 30‒63, severe depression. The cut-off scores for anxiety were (1) < 8, no anxiety or minimal anxiety; (2) 8‒15, mild anxiety; (3) 16‒25, moderate anxiety; and (4) 26‒63, severe anxiety.

The specimen was formalin-fixed for two weeks, then rehydrated and placed in a custom-made MRI compatible tube and immersed in liquid fluorocarbon. MRI was performed in a 7-Tesla scanner with 120 unique diffusion directions. Acquisition time for anatomic and diffusion images were 14 h and 208 h, respectively. Segmentation was performed manually. Deterministic fiber tractography was done using strategically chosen regions of interest and avoidance, with manual editing using expert knowledge of human neuroanatomy. Anatomic and diffusion images were rendered with isotropic resolutions of 50 μm and 200 μm, respectively. Ninety different structures were segmented and labeled, and 11 different fiber bundles were rendered with tractography. We report a method to generate angularly polarized vector beams with a topological charge of one by rotating air holes to form two-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) cavities. The mode volume and resonance wavelength of these cavities are tuned from $0.33(\lambda /n)^3$0.33(λ/n)3 to $12(\lambda /n)^3$12(λ/n)3 and in a wide range of 400 nm, respectively, by controlling the range of fixed air holes near the center of the structure. As a benefit, the half-maximum divergence angles of the vector beam can be widely changed from 90° to $\sim60^\circ $∼60∘. By adjusting the shift direction of the air holes in the PC cavities, optical vector beams with different far-field morphology are obtained. Taking a system of exciton polaritons in a kagome lattice as an example, we show that an initially localized condensate propagates in a specific direction in space, if anisotropy is taken into account. This propagation consists of quantum jumps, collapses, and revivals of the whole compact states, and it persists given any direction of anisotropy. This property reveals its signatures in the tight-binding model, and, surprisingly, it is **** more pronounced in a continuous model. Quantum revivals are robust to the repulsive interaction and finite lifetime of the particles. Here, we present a novel reconstruction algorithm that can directly process SIM data in the spatial domain. Moreover, this algorithm is also applicable for speckle pattern illumination.We report the experimental study of spectral modulations induced by a stimulated Raman scattering process in an all-fiber all-normal dispersion oscillator. With the use of dispersive Fourier transform, we recorded a series of single-shot spectra of consecutive laser pulses. The data indicate that the Raman process destabilizes the long-wavelength part of the laser pulse spectrum without disrupting the single-pulse generation regime. Our experiments revealed also that the oscillator displayed bistable operation for high pump powers. A novel InGaAs focal plane array integrated with linear-array polarization grating is proposed and fabricated to meet the practical needs of near-infrared polarization imaging. In order to accurately evaluate the polarization performance of a fabricated detector, the improved test system is used to measure the transmittance and extinction ratio (ER). The results show that the detectivity reaches $1.06\; \times \;10^12\;\rm cm\cdot\rm Hz^1/2/\rm W$1.06×1012cm⋅Hz1/2/W, and the operable pixel factor is more than 99.8%. The transmittance of more than 55% and the ER of greater than 211 are realized, which indicates that the fabricated detector has excellent capability for near-infrared polarization imaging.

Benefitting from its long fluorescence lifetime of the $^4\rm I_13/2$4I13/2 upper laser level and high thermal conductivity, $\rm Er\rm Yb\rm Lu_2\rm Si_2\rm O_7$ErYbLu2Si2O7 crystal may be an excellent gain medium for realizing a high energy and high repetition frequency 1.55 µm pulse laser. At a continuous-wave absorbed pump power of 6.1 W, a 1537 nm pulse laser with energy of 45.5 µJ, repetition frequency of 1.32 kHz, and duration of 25 ns was first, to the best of our knowledge, realized in an $\rm Er\rm Yb\rm Lu_2\rm Si_2\rm O_7$ErYbLu2Si2O7 crystal.We report on a peculiar propagation of bosons loaded by a short Laguerre-Gaussian pulse in a nearly flat band of a lattice potential. Taking a system of exciton polaritons in a kagome lattice as an example, we show that an initially localized condensate propagates in a specific direction in space, if anisotropy is taken into account. This propagation consists of quantum jumps, collapses, and revivals of the whole compact states, and it persists given any direction of anisotropy. This property reveals its signatures in the tight-binding model, and, surprisingly, it is much more pronounced in a continuous model. Quantum revivals are robust to the repulsive interaction and finite lifetime of the particles. Since no magnetic field or spin-orbit interaction is required, this system provides a new kind of easily implementable optical logic.Structured illumination microscopy (SIM) is a powerful technique for providing super-resolution imaging, but its reconstruction algorithm, i.e., linear reconstruction structured illumination microscopy (LRSIM) algorithm in the Fourier domain, limits the imaging speed due to its computational effort. Here, we present a novel reconstruction algorithm that can directly process SIM data in the spatial domain. Compared to LRSIM, this approach uses the same number of frames to achieve a comparable resolution but with a much faster processing speed. Our algorithm was verified on both simulated and experimental data using sinusoidal pattern illumination. Moreover, this algorithm is also applicable for speckle pattern illumination.We report the experimental study of spectral modulations induced by a stimulated Raman scattering process in an all-fiber all-normal dispersion oscillator. With the use of dispersive Fourier transform, we recorded a series of single-shot spectra of consecutive laser pulses. The data indicate that the Raman process destabilizes the long-wavelength part of the laser pulse spectrum without disrupting the single-pulse generation regime. Our experiments revealed also that the oscillator displayed bistable operation for high pump powers. Two stable dissipative soliton mode-locked states were observed, together with output power hysteresis.Polarization imaging plays a crucial role in modern photonic applications such as remote sensing, material classification, and reconnaissance. A novel InGaAs focal plane array integrated with linear-array polarization grating is proposed and fabricated to meet the practical needs of near-infrared polarization imaging. In order to accurately evaluate the polarization performance of a fabricated detector, the improved test system is used to measure the transmittance and extinction ratio (ER). The results show that the detectivity reaches $1.06\; \times \;10^12\;\rm cm\cdot\rm Hz^1/2/\rm W$1.06×1012cm⋅Hz1/2/W, and the operable pixel factor is more than 99.8%.
