Value-based decision models contend that prosocial tendencies and social context shape people's preferences for cooperative or selfish behavior. Using functional neuroimaging and computational modeling, we tested these predictions by comparing activity in brain regions previously linked to valuation and executive function during decision-making-the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC), respectively. Participants played Public Goods Games with students from fictitious universities, where social norms were selfish or cooperative. Prosocial participants showed greater vmPFC activity when cooperating and dlPFC-vmPFC connectivity when acting selfishly, whereas selfish participants displayed the opposite pattern. Norm-sensitive participants showed greater dlPFC-vmPFC connectivity when defying group norms. Modeling expectations of cooperation was associated with activity near the right temporoparietal junction. There are strong links between sleep and psychotic-like experiences (PLE), such as magical ideations or persecutory ideas. Sleep disturbances seem to play an important role in the occurrence of such symptoms, but studies investigating PLE in patients with sleep disorders are lacking.
We studied 24 subjects with insomnia disorder (41±13 years) and 47 participants with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA, 47±11 years) in the sleep laboratory and 33 healthy controls. Sleep in patients with sleep disorders was recorded and scored according to standard criteria of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. PLE were measured by the Magical Ideation Scale (MIS, short form with 10 items) and by the Peters etal., Delusions Inventory (PDI, 21 items). Additionally, cognitive tests and further psychological self-rating tests such as the **** Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were administered.
Patients with insomnia had significantly higher scores of magical and delusional ideations comotic disorder in the future.
To evaluate and compare the predictive accuracy of fall history, staff clinical judgment, the Care Home Falls Screen (CaHFRiS), and the Fall Risk Classification Algorithm (FRiCA).

Fall history, clinical judgment of staff (ie, physiotherapists, nurses and nurses' aides), and the CaHFRiS and FRiCA were assessed at baseline, and falls were documented in the follow-up period. Predictive accuracy was calculated at 1, 3, and 6months by means of sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, positive and negative likelihood ratio, Youden Index, and overall accuracy.
In total, 658 falls occurred and 50.2% of the residents had at least 1 fall with an average fall rate of 1.57 (SD 2.78, range 0-20) per resident. The overall accuracy for all screening methods at all measuring points ranged from 54.8% to 66.5%. Fall history, FRiCA, and a CaHFRiS score of ≥4 had better senresidents benefit the most from multifactorial assessments and subsequent tailored interventions.
The aim was to evaluate the potential of near infrared spectrometry (NIRS) monitoring enhanced by autoregulation parameters to detect clamp ischaemia during awake carotid endarterectomy (CEA).
This was a prospective, hypothesis generating, single centre observational study. Fifty-nine consecutive patients with carotid artery stenosis, of whom 15 (25%) were symptomatic, were enrolled. The patients underwent awake CEA with NIRS monitoring. Regional oxygen saturation (rSO

To assess the feasibility of enrollment and collecting patient-reported outcome (PRO) data as part of routine clinical urologic care for bladder and prostate cancer patients and examine overall patterns and racial variations in PRO use and symptom reports over time.
We recruited 76 patients (n = 29 Black and n = 47 White) with prostate or bladder cancer at a single, comprehensive cancer center. The majority of prostate cancer patients had intermediate risk (57%) disease and underwent either radiation or prostatectomy. Over half (58%) of bladder cancer patients had muscle invasive disease and underwent cystectomy. Patients were asked to complete PRO symptom surveys using their preferred mode [web- or phone-based interactive voice response (IVR)]. Symptom summary reports were shared with providers during visits. Surveys were completed at 3 time points and assessed urinary, sexual, gastrointestinal, anxiety/depression, and sleep symptoms. Feasibility of enrollment and survey completion were calculated, and linear mixed effects models estimated differences in outcomes by race and time.
Sixty three percent of study participants completed all PRO measures at all 3 time points. Black patients were more likely to select IVR as their survey mode (40% vs. 13%, P < 0.05), and less likely to complete all surveys (55% vs. 74%, P = 0.13). Patients using IVR were also less likely to complete all surveys (41% vs. 69%, P = 0.046).
Reported preferences for survey mode and completion rates differ by race, which may influence survey completion rates and highlight potential obstacles for equitable implementation of PROs into clinical care.

Many parents of infants born with a DSD describe the process of initial sex assignment at birth as highly stressful. Parents of children with a DSD also note high distress when their children engage in behaviors that are not considered typical for their gender.
The goal of this article is to provide members of the health care team a brief overview of psychosocial facets of gender and gender identity particularly relevant to DSD for the purposes of enhancing shared decision-making and optimizing support for individuals with a DSD and their families.
Gender identity is a multidimensional construct involving related but distinct concepts such as gender typicality, gender contentedness and felt pressure for gender differentiation, and can be assessed via standardized measures. Gender dysphoria is associated with poor psychological adjustment, and is mitigated by family and peer support. Family influences on gender identity include parental modeling of gender behavior and family composition (e.g., same-sex children vs both sons and daughters in a family).

Among 18 mutants that did not adhere to HeLa cells, four carried insertions within fimbrial genes (fimA and traJ) and agglutinin genes (tia and hek). Using these Tn5 mutants as donors, we were able to obtain kanamycin-resistant E. coli MA3456 transconjugants. Sequence analysis of the plasmid genes revealed a region exhibit to 80 and 73% amino acid similarities to the agglutinins Tia and Hek, respectively. Conclusion In this study, we have identified three large conjugative plasmids, pIS46, pIS66 and pIS102, coding for antimicrobial resistance and localized-like adherence (LAL) to HeLa cells. This study aimed to compare outcomes of conservative and endovascular treatments in symptomatic patients with SISMAD. Methods Forty-two consecutive SISMAD patients who were admitted to a single center between October 2009 and May 2018 were enrolled in this study. Based on their symptoms, 15 had conservative treatment, and 27 had endovascular treatment. The baseline characteristics, treatments, and follow-up results of the conservative group and endovascular group were analysed. Results The rates of symptom relief were 93.3% in the conservative group and 96.3% in the endovascular group. The procedure-related complications in the endovascular group included one case of pseudoaneurysm formation in the left brachial artery. During the follow-up period (median 28.5 months), a higher proportion of patients in the conservative group had symptom recurrence (42.9% in the conservative group versus 4.8% in the endovascular group, p less then 0.001). Four patients in the conservative group and one patient in the endovascular group had additional endovascular intervention during follow-up. Compared with the conservative group, patients in the endovascular group had statistically significantly longer symptom-free survival (p = 0.014) and a higher rate of superior mesenteric artery (SMA) remodeling (p less then 0.001). Conclusions For symptomatic SISMAD, endovascularly treated patients had a lower rate of symptom recurrence and a higher rate of SMA remodeling in the long term. Methods The Alberta Provincial Project for Outcome Assessment in Coronary Heart Disease registry captured 4780 aortic valve replacements in Alberta, Canada from January 2004 to December 2018. All recipients were stratified by BMI into five groups (BMI = 35). Log-rank test and Cox regression were used to examine the crude and adjusted survival differences. Results Intra-operative clamp time and pump time were similar among the five groups. Significant statistical differences between groups existed for the incidence of isolated AVR, AVR and CABG, hemorrhage, septic infection, and deep sternal infection (p less then 0.05). While there was no significant statistical difference in the mortality rate across the BMI groups, the underweight AVR patients (BMI less then 20) were associated with increased hazard ratio (1.519; 95% confidence interval 1.028-2.245) with regards to all-cause mortality at the longest follow-up compared with normal weight patients. Zhijin cave is a typical Karst cave and attracts tourists in China. However, the bacterial diversity and composition of the Karst cave are still unclear. The present study aims to reveal the bacterial diversity and composition in the cave and the potential impact of tourism activities, and better understand the roles and co-occurrence pattern of the bacterial community in the extreme cave habitats. Results The bacterial community consisted of the major Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Firmicutes, with Proteobacteria being the predominant phylum in the rock, soil, and stalactite samples. Compositions and specialized bacterial phyla munity are influenced by tourism activities. These afford new insights for further exploring the adaptation of bacteria to extreme environments and the conservation of cave ecosystem.
Among 18 mutants that did not adhere to HeLa cells, four carried insertions within fimbrial genes (fimA and traJ) and agglutinin genes (tia and hek). Using these Tn5 mutants as donors, we were able to obtain kanamycin-resistant E. coli MA3456 transconjugants. Sequence analysis of the plasmid genes revealed a region exhibit to 80 and 73% amino acid similarities to the agglutinins Tia and Hek, respectively. This study aimed to compare outcomes of conservative and endovascular treatments in symptomatic patients with SISMAD. Methods Forty-two consecutive SISMAD patients who were admitted to a single center between October 2009 and May 2018 were enrolled in this study. Based on their symptoms, 15 had conservative treatment, and 27 had endovascular treatment. The baseline characteristics, treatments, and follow-up results of the conservative group and endovascular group were analysed. Results The rates of symptom relief were 93.3% in the conservative group and 96.3% in the endovascular group. The procedure-related complications in the endovascular group included one case of pseudoaneurysm formation in the left brachial artery. During the follow-up period (median 28.5 months), a higher proportion of patients in the conservative group had symptom recurrence (42.9% in the conservative group versus 4.8% in the endovascular group, p less then 0.001). Four patients in the conservative group and one patient in the endovascular group had additional endovascular intervention during follow-up. Compared with the conservative group, patients in the endovascular group had statistically significantly longer symptom-free survival (p = 0.014) and a higher rate of superior mesenteric artery (SMA) remodeling (p less then 0.001). Conclusions For symptomatic SISMAD, endovascularly treated patients had a lower rate of symptom recurrence and a higher rate of SMA remodeling in the long term. METHODS Studies were carried out using isolated tissue baths, where strips of porcine bladder U&LP or detrusor were exposed to varying concentrations of prostaglandin agonists (1 μM and 10 μM). RESULTS All assessed prostaglandin agonists contracted both the U&LP and detrusor smooth muscle, with the rank order of contractile response effectiveness as PGE2 > PGF2α > TXA2 > PGD2 > PGI2. In U&LP, treatment with PGE2 (10 μM) increased tonic contractions by 1.36 ± 0.09 g (n = 42, p less then 0.001) and phasic contractions by 40.4 ± 9.6% (n = 42, p less then 0.001). In response to PGF2α (10 μM), U&LP tonic contractions increased by 0.79 ± 0.06 g (n = 14, p less then 0.001) and phasic activity by 13.3% ± 5.3% (n = 15, p less then 0.05). In detrusor preparations, PGE2 (10 μM) increased tonic contractions by 1.32 ± 0.13 g (n = 38, p less then 0.001) and PGF2α (10 μM) by 0.97 ± 0.14 g (n = 12, p less then 0.001). Only 34% (n = 48) of all detrusor preparations exhibited spontaneous activity prior to the addition of any agonist at a frequency of 2.03 ± 0.12 cpm. In preparations that did not exhibit initial phasic activity, all of the prostaglandin agonists were capable of commencing phasic activity. CONCLUSIONS The urinary bladder U&LP and detrusor respond to a variety of prostaglandin agonists, with their activation resulting in direct contractions, as well as increases to spontaneous contractile activity. Tertiary educated individuals are more aware than less educated individuals (73.6% versus 46.6%, p less then 0.001). The most commonly known method is oocyte cryopreservation (94.3%). Most of the respondents (80%) were interested to know about fertility preservation, 84.1% considered fertility preservation counselling necessary and 83.3% would consider undergoing fertility preservation if a treatment has a high chance of causing infertility despite the possibility oicient patient referral pathways and financial support should be provided to improve the provision and uptake of fertility preservation service to enhance the reproductive potential and life options of women.BACKGROUND The Beger procedure is a common surgical option in the management of the unremitting abdominal pain of chronic pancreatitis (CP). As an organ-sparing surgery, it might be a better choice than pancreatoduodenectomy (PD). However, it is rather challenging for surgeons to perform the Beger procedure laparoscopically, especially for patients with CP; indeed, it has rarely reported. Here, we describe the technique and results of our early experience in laparoscopic Beger procedure for the treatment of CP. CASE PRESENTATION Five patients (1 male) with CP (alcohol induced, n = 3; idiopathic, n = 2) who underwent laparoscopic Beger procedure from May to October 2019 in West China Hospital were included in this study. The median pancreatic duct diameter was 6.8 (4 to 12) mm. The median operating time was 275 (150 to 305) minutes without conversion. Only one patient (20%) developed a grade B pancreatic fistula. One patient required re-operation for jejunal anastomotic bleeding on the first post-operative day. The median hospital stay was 11 (9 to 34) days. No patient experienced biliary fistula, gastroparesis, duodenal necrosis, or abdominal bleeding. The 90-day mortality rate was 0%. All the patients were pain free in the two months after the operation. CONCLUSION The laparoscopic Beger procedure is feasible and safe with good short-term results and some potential benefits in selected patients with chronic pancreatitis. Ten (12.3%) patients experienced endocrine deterioration. Fourteen (17.3%) patients underwent surgery for either visual deterioration (in 12 patients) or endocrine dysfunction (in 2 patients). Therefore, conservative management could be an acceptable strategy for these tumors. Methods The RECO Flow Restoration Device Versus Solitaire FR With the Intention for Thrombectomy Study (REDIRECT) was a multicenter, prospective, open randomized controlled trial. Patients with acute LVO at 7 Chinese stroke centers participated in the study. The primary efficacy endpoint was defined as a modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction (mTICI) reperfusion grade ≥ 2 within three passes. The primary safety endpoint comprised any serious adverse device effect, symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH), and any serious adverse event (SAE; defined as cerebral palsy or death) within 24 hours after the procedure. In this study, the authors evaluated the surgical outcome of the endoscopic transorbital approach (eTOA) for SOM. In addition, they identified optimal indications for the use of eTOA and analyzed the feasibility of this approach as a minimally invasive surgery for SOMs of varying types and locations at presentation. Methods Between September 2016 and December 2019, the authors performed eTOA in 41 patients with SOM with or without orbital involvement at 3 independent tertiary institutions. Herein the authors report the case of a right-handed woman with speech aphasia following resection of an oligodendroglioma located in the anterior aspect of the left superior frontal gyrus. The patient exhibited language SMA syndrome, and functional MRI (fMRI) findings 12 days postoperatively demonstrated a complete shift of blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) activation to the contralateral right language SMA/pre-SMA as well as coequal activation and an increased volume of activation in the left Broca's area and the right Broca's homolog. Methods The RECO Flow Restoration Device Versus Solitaire FR With the Intention for Thrombectomy Study (REDIRECT) was a multicenter, prospective, open randomized controlled trial. Patients with acute LVO at 7 Chinese stroke centers participated in the study. The primary efficacy endpoint was defined as a modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction (mTICI) reperfusion grade ≥ 2 within three passes. In this study, the authors evaluated the surgical outcome of the endoscopic transorbital approach (eTOA) for SOM. In addition, they identified optimal indications for the use of eTOA and analyzed the feasibility of this approach as a minimally invasive surgery for SOMs of varying types and locations at presentation. RESULTS Individuals heterozygous for rs1896367 had more frequent erosions (p = 0.026) and joint space narrowing (p = 0.005) in the feet, higher SHS (p = 0.016), and higher SENS (p ≤ 0.001). Patients homozygous for rs1896368 had less frequent joint space narrowing in hands and feet as assessed by SHS and less presence of erosions by SENS (odds ratio, 0.04; 95% confidence interval, 0.00-0.93; p less then 0.05). The presence of PD was associated with the homozygous of rs1896367 (p = 0.009) and the heterozygous of rs1896368 (p = 0.033). INTERVENTION After entering the glottis, the DLT was rotated left 90° and advanced blindly into the left main bronchus in the conventional group. In the fibreoptic-guided group, DLT was advanced into the main bronchus under the guide of fibreoptic bronchoscope, which had been passed through the bronchial lumen and inserted into the left main bronchus. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES The primary outcome was postoperative sore throat at 24 h after operation. The airway injuries were also examined using a bronchoscope during extubation. RESULTS At postoperative 24 h, the fibreoptic-guided group showed lower pain score (P = 0.001) and lower incidence (risk ratio [95% CI] 0.2 [0.1 to 0.5], P  less then  0.001) of sore throat, compared with the conventional group. Moreover, tracheal injury was more severe in the conventional group than in the fibreoptic group (P = 0.003). Vocal cord injuries also occurred less frequently in the fibreoptic-guided group (risk ratio [95% CI] 0.4 [0.2 to 1.0], P = 0.036). CONCLUSION The fibreoptic-guided advancement seems to reduce irritation to the airway, leading less postoperative complications. METHODS A comprehensive search of the literature was undertaken by searching PubMed, CINAHL, and PsycINFO using predetermined subject headings, keywords, and exploded topics. After a comprehensive evaluation using specific criteria, 121 articles were reviewed. RESULTS Qualitative studies provided information about women's issues with body image, sexuality, and sexual functioning, whereas quantitative studies focused primarily on sexual functioning. The literature lacks correlational studies examining body image and sexuality. Significant issues regarding communication and quality of life were noted, and few studies were based on clear conceptual models. CONCLUSION The state of the science gleaned from this review reveals that while **** is known about sexual functioning, little is known about body image and sexuality. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE Further work is warranted to develop conceptual models and research on body image, sexuality, and sexual functioning as a foundation for interventions to improve quality of life.BACKGROUND Religious and spiritual beliefs including forgiveness are an important aspect of cancer survivorship; however, the relationship between forgiveness and health is not well understood. Most studies reported a positive association between forgiveness and mental health. Fewer studies were available regarding relationships between forgiveness and physical health, and findings were mixed.

DeepBindPoc demonstrated a strong complementary advantage for the detection of native-like pockets when combined with traditional popular methods, such as fpocket and P2Rank. However, approximately 200,000 ha of mangroves and an unknown area of seagrass have been lost due to coastal development associated with urban, industrial and tourist purposes. In 2018, the approved reforms to the General Law on Climate Change (LGCC) aligned the Mexican law with the international objectives established in the 2nd Article of the Paris Agreement. This action proves Mexico's commitment to contributing to the global target of stabilizing the greenhouse gas emissions concentration in the planet. Thus, restoring and conserving mangrove and seagrass habitats could contribute to fulfilling this commitment. Therefore, as a first step in establishing a mitigation and adaptation plan against climate change with respect to conservation and restoration actions of these ecosystems, we evaluated Mexican blue carbon ecosystems through a systematic review of the carbon stock using the standardized method of Preferred Reportin, mangroves and seagrasses are still being lost due to land use change despite Mexican laws meant to incorporate environmental compensation. Such losses are largely due to loopholes in the legal framework that dilute the laws' effectiveness and thus ability to protect the ecosystem. The estimated emissions from land use change under a conservative approach in mangroves of Mexico were approximately 24 Tg CO2e in the last 20 years. In the Northeast Atlantic (NEA), 17 species are known and the current knowledge on their distribution is mainly restricted to the Macaronesian islands. In the Mediterranean Sea, 14 species are recorded and generally found in marine caves. Methods Lithistids were sampled in nine NEA seamounts during the scientific expeditions Seamount 1 (1987) and Seamount 2 (1993) organized by the MNHN of Paris. Collected specimens were identified through the analyses of external and internal morphological characters using light and scanning electron microscopy, and compared with material from various museum collections as well as literature records. Results A total of 68 specimens were analysed and attributed to 17 species across two orders, seven families, and seven genera, representing new records of distribution. Especially in organelle-based studies using circular chloroplast genome datasets, the assembly of the main structural regions in random order and orientation represents a major limitation in our ability to easily generate "ready-to-align" datasets for phylogenetic reconstruction, at both small and large taxonomic scales. In addition, current practices discard the most variable regions of the genomes to facilitate the alignment of the remaining coding regions. Nevertheless, no software is currently available to perform curation to such a degree, through simple detection, organization and positioning of the main plastome regions, making it a time-consuming and error-prone process. Here we introduce a fast and user friendly software ECuADOR, a Perl script specifically designed to automate the detection and reorganization of newly assembled plastomes obtained from any source available (NGS, sanger sequencing or assembler output).

In 2018, the approved reforms to the General Law on Climate Change (LGCC) aligned the Mexican law with the international objectives established in the 2nd Article of the Paris Agreement. This action proves Mexico's commitment to contributing to the global target of stabilizing the greenhouse gas emissions concentration in the planet. Thus, restoring and conserving mangrove and seagrass habitats could contribute to fulfilling this commitment. Therefore, as a first step in establishing a mitigation and adaptation plan against climate change with respect to conservation and restoration actions of these ecosystems, we evaluated Mexican blue carbon ecosystems through a systematic review of the carbon stock using the standardized method of Preferred Reportin, mangroves and seagrasses are still being lost due to land use change despite Mexican laws meant to incorporate environmental compensation. Such losses are largely due to loopholes in the legal framework that dilute the laws' effectiveness and thus ability to protect the ecosystem. The estimated emissions from land use change under a conservative approach in mangroves of Mexico were approximately 24 Tg CO2e in the last 20 years. In the Northeast Atlantic (NEA), 17 species are known and the current knowledge on their distribution is mainly restricted to the Macaronesian islands. Methods Lithistids were sampled in nine NEA seamounts during the scientific expeditions Seamount 1 (1987) and Seamount 2 (1993) organized by the MNHN of Paris. Collected specimens were identified through the analyses of external and internal morphological characters using light and scanning electron microscopy, and compared with material from various museum collections as well as literature records. Results A total of 68 specimens were analysed and attributed to 17 species across two orders, seven families, and seven genera, representing new records of distribution. Therapists engage in transfers-a specific type of termination-with clients who will be continuing treatment with new therapists after they depart. Consequently, new therapists begin treatments in the shadow of the loss of outgoing therapist. These transfer experiences frequently occur in yearlong training settings, where therapists-in-training encounter some of their first therapy experiences and subsequently move on to other training settings or graduation. Transfers also occur in clinical settings when therapists retire, become ill, or need to end the treatment prematurely. In this article, the authors address transfer terminations using attachment theory and the literature applying attachment theory to psychotherapy. The authors incorporate relevant literature, research, and case examples that highlight how therapists can best address these losses and transitions in treatment. This article concludes by offering recommendations for supervisors of students in training settings and detailing some of the unique benefits for clients who experience multiple transfer terminations in treatment. To assess the dissemination of evidence-based content within smartphone apps for depression and anxiety by developing and applying
-a method for weighting app content based on each app's number of active users.
We searched the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and identified 27 apps within the top search hits, which real-world users are most likely to encounter. We developed a codebook of evidence-based treatment elements by reviewing past research on empirically supported treatments. We coded the apps to develop an initial tally of the frequency of treatment elements within the mental health (MH) apps. We then developed and applied user-adjusted analysis to refine the tallies based on each app's number of monthly active users.
The 2 most popular apps were responsible for 90% of monthly active users, and user-adjusted analysis markedly altered conclusions of prior reports based on tallies alone. For example, mindfulness was present in 37% of apps but reached 96% of monthly active users, cognitive restructuring was present in 22% but reached only 2%, and exposure was present in 7% but reached only 0.0004%.
The potential impact of MH apps on mental health may be best evaluated via assessment that combines tallies of evidence-based content with data on the content users are actually accessing. Method Veterans reporting lifetime cannabis use (N = 361; 93% male; 80% White) completed three semiannual assessments. Prospective mediation models using structural equation modeling analyzed the indirect effects of baseline ADHD symptoms on 12-month cannabis use and problems via each motive at 6 months. Zero-inflated negative binomial models were employed for both manifest outcomes and ADHD symptoms and motives were each modeled as 1-factor latent variables. Results Sleep motives was a robust mediator for cannabis use frequency in single mediator models and was marginally significant when examined simultaneously with other motives after accounting for baseline cannabis use, demographics, other substance use, and other psychopathology. Coping with negative affect was the only significant mediator of ADHD symptoms and subsequent cannabis problem severity. Conclusion Among veterans with ADHD symptoms, sleep disturbance is a salient motive for cannabis use, whereas coping with negative affect is a proximal predictor of cannabis problems. To address these questions, we conducted a meta-analysis to examine the strength of the prosociality to well-being link under different operationalizations, and how a set of theoretical, demographic, and methodological variables moderate the link. While the results revealed a modest overall mean effect size (r = .13, K = 201, N = 198,213) between prosociality and well-being, this masked the substantial variability in the effect as a function of numerous moderators. In particular, the effect of prosociality on eudaimonic well-being was stronger than that on hedonic well-being. Prosociality was most strongly related to psychological functioning-showing a more modest relationship with psychological malfunctioning and physical health. Using prosociality scales was more strongly associated with well-being than using measures of volunteering/helping frequency or status. In addition, informal helping (vs. formal helping) was linked to more well-being benefits. Demographically, younger givers exhibited higher levels of well-being other than physical health, while older and retired givers reported better physical health only. Female givers showed stronger relationships between prosociality and eudaimonic well-being, psychological malfunctioning, and physical health. Methodologically, the magnitude of the link was stronger in studies using primary (vs. secondary) data and with higher methodological rigor (i.e., measurement reliability and validity). Bacterial endophytes are found in the internal tissues of plants and have intimate associations with their host. However, little is known about the diversity of medicinal plant endophytes (ME) or their capability to produce specialised metabolites that may contribute to therapeutic properties. We isolated 75 bacterial ME from 24 plant species of the Western Ghats, India. Molecular identification by 16S rRNA gene sequencing grouped MEs into 13 bacterial genera, with members of Gammaproteobacteria and Firmicutes being the most abundant. To improve taxonomic identification, 26 selected MEs were genome sequenced and average nucleotide identity (ANI) used to identify them to the species-level. This identified multiple species in the most common genus as Bacillus. Similarly, identity of the Enterobacterales was also distinguished within Enterobacter and Serratia by ANI and core-gene analysis. We established a spontaneous discrimination paradigm and quantified olfactory investigation responses of 21 captive male mouse lemurs of M. lehilahytsara and M. murinus when presenting 1 conspecific and 1 heterospecific female urine odor sample simultaneously. Overall, M. murinus investigated stimuli significantly longer than M. lehilahytsara. Moreover, males of M. murinus showed significantly longer olfactory investigation at conspecific urine samples during but not outside the reproductive season. This indicates that female urinary cues are spontaneously discriminated by male M. murinus and that this discrimination is more relevant during the reproductive season. However, males of both species did not show different responses toward urine samples from estrous versus diestrous females. Finally, male age did not correlate with the overall duration of olfactory investigation, and investigation levels were similar when testing with fresh or frozen urine samples. Although the FDA recently approved the HPV vaccine for individuals aged 27-45 years old, the CDC did not change their guidelines for routine HPV vaccination. Since recommendations for adult vaccination emphasize shared clinical decision-making based on risk of new infections, we examined the relationship between HPV prevalence and sexual behavior.
This study was conducted among 5,093 HPV-unvaccinated, sexually experienced adults aged 18-59 years in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2013-2016). For each sex and age group, adjusted prevalences of 9-valent vaccine-specific, high-risk, and any-HPV infection were estimated by number of lifetime sexual partners (LTSP) using logistic regression. An analysis restricted to persons who did not have a new sexual partner in the past year (i.e., removing those at highest risk of newly acquired HPV) was also conducted.
In each age group, genital HPV prevalence was higher among persons with >5 LTSP compared with 1-5 LTSP in both males and females. There were only slight reductions in HPV prevalence after removing participants who reported a new sexual partner in the past year. For example, among females aged 27-45 years with >5 LTSP, the adjusted prevalence of 9-valent vaccine-type HPV infection was 13.4% (95% CI 9.9-17.0) in the full group compared to 12.1% (95% CI 8.8-15.4) among those with no new sexual partners.

Ulcerative colitis [UC] patients are at an increased risk of developing colorectal cancer due to chronic inflammation. Endoscopic submucosal dissection [ESD] allows removal of non-invasive neoplastic lesions in the colon, but few data are available on its efficacy in UC patients.
Data from consecutive UC patients diagnosed with visible dysplastic lesions in the colon who underwent ESD were evaluated. The en bloc removal, R0 resection and complication rates were calculated. Local recurrence and metachronous lesions during follow-up were identified. A systematic review of the literature with pooled data analysis was performed.
A total of 53 UC patients [age 65 years; range 30-74; M/F 31/22] underwent ESD. The en bloc resection rate was 100%, and the R0 resection rate was 96.2%. Bleeding occurred in seven [13.2%] patients, and perforation in three [5.6%] cases, all treated at endoscopy. No recurrence was observed, but two metachronous lesions were detected. Data from six other studies [three Asian and three European] were available.
