Functional imaging using different tracers in addition to conventional imaging are employed in localizing the primary sites, disease extent and lesions characterization. Here is a diagnosed case of MEN-1 syndrome with interesting incidental imaging findings showing 99mTc-sestamibi and 18F-choline uptakes in addition to 68Ga-DOTANOC uptake in metastatic mediastinal and cervical lymph nodes arising from gastro-entro-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (GEP NET). This shows the possibility of imaging the NETs with three different tracers namely - 68Ga-DOTANOC, 99mTc-sestamibi and 18F-fluorocholine. The CT attenuation units (HU) correlated with prostate primary in case of direct tumour extension from prostate, while in hematogenous metastatic seeding the HU was lower than the primary prostatic tumour. A particular point of note was that favorable outcome to 177Lu-PSMA-617 PRLT was observed in patients with lesser or no baseline FDG uptake despite high Gleason score and high risk NCCN prognostic category, and did not correlate with the latter alone, while high SUVmax values on FDG PET-CT was found to be associated with adverse outcome. These findings suggested the promising role of FDG PET-CT in predicting therapeutic outcomes with more confidence, and hence the concept of dual tracer PET appeared to hold good in prostate adenocarcinoma theranostics. A trend of cyclic fluctuation in concentration was also shared between all samples. Conclusion This study supports that from a chemical standpoint, sincalide may potentially be used up to at least 8 days following reconstitution with sterile water, thus providing convenient and cost-saving benefits to medical institutions utilizing the product. This 'redifferentiation-akin' phenomenon in intermediate grade NETs following chemotherapy can have potential implications for the feasibility of peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) in this group of patients in their course of disease at a later phase. Granular substrates, such as desert sand, can display complex responses to animal interactions. This complexity has led to locomotor strategies that make use of fluid-like or solid-like features of this substrate, or combinations of the two. Here, we use examples from our work to demonstrate the diverse array of methods used and insights gained in the study of both surface and subsurface limbless locomotion in these habitats. Counterintuitively, these seemingly complex granular environments offer certain experimental, theoretical, robotic and computational advantages for studying terrestrial movement, with the potential for providing broad insights into morphology and locomotor control in fluids and solids, including neuromechanical control templates and morphological and behavioral evolution.

Individuals with advanced gastric cancer (AGC) who present with severe peritoneal metastasis (SPM) have poor prognosis. This study aimed to evaluate efficacy and safety of second-line treatment for patients with such condition.
This retrospective study included patients receiving taxane-based second-line chemotherapy at three Japanese institutions between 2010 and 2016. Patients with AGC who present with SPM were included if they had massive ascites and/or inadequate oral intake requiring intravenous nutritional support.
In this study, 43 (40%) of 108 patients had an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Status score ≥ 2, and the median serum albumin level of the patients was 3.3g/dL. Ramucirumab was used in combination with paclitaxel in 21 patients. The median overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were 5.1 and 2.8months, respectively. Inadequate oral intake was considered a negative prognostic factor of both OS and PFS in the multivariate analysis. Three treatment-related deaths were observed, which include those attributed to febrile neutropenia, gastrointestinal perforation, and pneumonitis. Common grade ≥ 3 adverse events were neutropenia (35%), leukopenia (30%), anemia (24%), and anorexia (16%). We observed febrile neutropenia in 8% and gastrointestinal perforation in 4% of patients, and such conditions were dominantly observed in patients with inadequate oral intake.
Taxane-based second-line chemotherapy was effective and safe for patients with AGC who present with SPM. Attention must be provided when treating patients with inadequate oral intake as they are likely to have short prognosis and serious toxicities.

Eravacycline is a novel fluorocycline approved for treatment of intraabdominal infections, with a broad spectrum of activity against a range of pathogens including multidrug-resistant species, including ESBL- or KPC-producing isolates. It is approved for twice-daily dosing with no need for adjustment in renal dysfunction. In the concomitant administration with CYP 3A4-inducing drugs, eravacycline dosing should be modified.

Here, we show that while deletion of PHO85 stabilizes Isr1 in asynchronous cells, Isr1 is still unstable in mitotically arrested cells in a pho85∆ strain. We provide evidence to suggest that this is through phosphorylation by CDK1. A substantial amount of healthcare resource and cost was consumed in both phases. This study may serve as a basic reference for further health technology assessment of new medicines such as plerixafor. One-hundred twenty children and adolescents (60 medication naïve ADHD and 60 controls) were included in a gender- and age-matched case-control study. ADHD was diagnosed according to the DSM-IV-TR, the Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia-Present and Lifetime Version, and the Conner's Parents Rating Scale-Revised. Circadian rhythms of motor activity and sleep parameters were measured using actigraphy and the Sleep Disturbance Scale for Children. BMI and dietary intake were also evaluated. ADHD patients showed a trend towards eveningness and greater sleep disturbances than controls.

Our simulated spectra are in good agreement with previous experimental reports of these ammonium-centered clusters and provide a better understanding of the vibrational coupling behind the spectra of the NH stretching region.Levoglucosenone ((1S,5R)-6,8-dioxabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-2-en-4-one or LGO; CAS number 37112-31-5) is an extensively studied biomass based chemical and its potential applications in organic synthesis, as well as in the extraction of various natural substances, have been established; therefore developing dependable, yet fast and simple analytical methods for determining LGO in the products of thermochemical biomass processing is of great importance. In this work different UHPLC methods have been developed and compared for the determination of LGO in wood pyrolysis products. In addition to UV detection, LGO determination conditions by single quadrupole mass spectrometry have been adjusted with and without chemical derivatization. The ionization of LGO in the positive and negative electrospray ionisation mode and the effect of a mobile phase additive on LGO and its degradation product ionisation have been evaluated. Using the UHPLC-UV system, a method for the quantification of levoglucosenone was developed and the anction, can be outweighed by the greater selectivity compared to that of the more straightforward UV detection method in cases of incomplete chromatographic separation.Herein, we introduce the concept of hydrophobic domain flexibility to control the morphology of aqueous assemblies. To this end, we examined two amphiphilic 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene (BODIPY) dyes that differ in the flexibility of the hydrophobic residue (tetradecyl vs. cholesterol). This minor structural difference significantly affects the self-assembly behaviour (spherical vs. two-dimensional sheets) by overruling the packing parameters.The highly sensitive and selective determination of Escherichia coli (E. coli) in urine was achieved using a SYBR™ safe loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method with a distance-based paper device. New primers set specific to multi-copy the 16s rRNA gene of E. coli were designed and used in this study. The detection sensitivity of these primers was higher than in related work and they could be incorporated with a low-cost paper-based device to quantify E. coli in urine at a concentration lower than 101 CFU mL-1. Regarding standard artificial urine, a linear range of a 10-fold dilution of E. coli concentration (105-100 CFU mL-1) with an R-square value (R2) = 0.9823 was observed directly using a fluorescent migratory distance of the 4 μL reaction mixture in the detection zone under blue light without the need for postreaction staining process. Based on the device, E. coli infection could be significantly categorized into 3 groups; none, light, and heavy levels, which is beneficial for UTI diagnosis. This study aimed to quantify and compare workload and well-being across basketball games played on consecutive days during the in-season phase.
Seven players (mean [SD] age, 20.8 [1.6] y; stature, 195.0 [5.4] cm; body mass, 88.3 [4.2] kg; training experience, 11.6 [3.7] y) competing in the second-tier Lithuanian league were recruited. Changes in workload and well-being were monitored across six NKL games in three separate weeks during the in-season phase, with two games per week played on Friday (Day 1) and Saturday (Day 2). External workload was determined as PlayerLoad (PL) and PL per minute (PL/min) via microsensors. Internal workload was determined as percentage of maximum heart rate (%HRmax), summated heart rate zones (SHRZ) workload, and session-rating of perceived exertion (sRPE) workload. Well-being was evaluated using questionnaires assessing fatigue, sleep quality, general muscle soreness, stress levels and mood. Linear mixed models and effect size analyses were used to compare workload and well-being between Day 1 and Day 2.
Significantly lower PL/min (P=0.029; ES=0.26, small), greater perception of fatigue (P<0.001; ES=1.31, large) and lower total well-being score (P<0.001; ES=0.59, small) were observed for basketball games played on Day 2 compared to games played on Day 1.
Two games played on consecutive days elicited similar game workloads with higher perceived fatigue and lower well-being in the second game day. These findings suggest basketball coaches using recovery strategies to optimize player well-being during congested game schedules.

Female artistic gymnastics includes multiple athletic gestures that can be performed by combining jump strength with wide degrees of joint mobility. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of two different types of stretching on vertical jump height and range of motion in competitive gymnasts and to identify the most suitable stretching protocol for increasing range of motion, without negatively affecting vertical jump performance.
In a crossover design, following dynamic stretching, static stretching, and control (no stretching), eight competitive female gymnasts (age 14±2 years; BMI 18.8±1.4 kg/m
, mean±SD) were tested on jump performance through a squat jump, a countermovement jump and an acrobatic gymnastic jump, and on range of motion by measuring the amplitude of the forward oversplit figure.
One-way repeated measure ANOVA revealed significant main, very large effect of stretching condition (P<0.01). Post-hoc comparisons showed improvement of squat jump and countermovement jump after dynamic stretching with respect to static stretching and control (P<0.05). Range of motion increased significantly following static stretching with respect to dynamic stretching and control (P<0.01).
Dynamic stretching is recommended in the warm-up to increase vertical jump performance, while specific static stretching should be pursued in the final phase of the training session being a specific technical work for range of motion.

The worldwide lockdown in response to COVID-19 pandemics has often led to physical inactivity and social distancing. When combined, these factors may affect quality and life and increase the risk of different diseases. Therefore, assessment of physical activity levels should be encouraged to monitor and identify those at a higher risk of inactivity. Smart technology is a promising tool to assess physical activity and health and may be particularly useful during a period of general lockdown.
An online survey was developed and shared among the Italian general population to collect data about physical activity and daily routine changes between January 2020 and the lockdown period from March 23 to March 29. Participants were asked to provide data such as daily step count (Steps) or heart rate (HR) measured and collected by their smart technology devices.
Four hundred participants were included in the final analysis. During the lockdown, the number of steps dropped from 8284±4390 to 3294±3994 steps (P<0.001), while mean peak HR decreased from 61.3±18.2% to 55.9±17.3% (P<0.001).
These findings provide objective data about the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown on physical activity, thus encouraging the use of smart devices to monitor and promote healthy lifestyles while faced with a confinement condition.

The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of alcohol and tobacco experimentation by adolescents and to verify the association between cell phone use with alcohol and tobacco consumption in adolescents with different physical activity levels.
This work is a cross-sectional study with a representative sample of 772 adolescents (52.6% girls; age 16.63±0.70 years old). To optimize a protocol for the steroid administration approach for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL) in China.
A questionnaire was distributed to otolaryngologists. The data on demographics, indications for first-line and salvage treatment, such as intratympanic administration of steroids (ITS) and postauricular steroids (PAS), and procedures were analyzed.
74 respondents used oral steroids, 112 used intravenous injections, 10 used ITS and 6 used PAS as a monotherapy for first-line treatment, and 135 used ITS or PAS in conjunction with oral or intravenous injection as a first-line treatment. Of the 249 respondents who used ITS, 97.19% adopted it as salvage therapy. The most commonly used steroid was 0.5 ml dexamethasone at 5 mg/ml and the most common side effect was pain. Of the 174 respondents who used PAS, 94.25% used it as salvage therapy. The most commonly used steroid was 0.5 ml methylprednisolone mixed with 0.5 ml lidocaine.
The obtained data suggested that intravenous injection of steroids was the most popular treatment for ISSNHL and that ITS or PAS were used as a salvage treatment in China.

Patients presenting with end-stage ankle osteoarthritis (OA) in the setting of a concomitant extra-articular limb deformity pose a challenging problem that has not yet been described in the literature. We describe a case series of patients treated with external and internal fixation techniques followed by total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) in a staged approach to treat this complex presentation.
Eight patients with limb deformity and end-stage ankle OA who underwent staged deformity correction and TAA from 2016 to 2019 at our institution were retrospectively identified. Average age was 58.5 (range, 49-68) years, with an average follow-up of 2.6 (range, 0.8-4.2) years. All patients underwent limb reconstruction with either tibial osteotomy with a circular frame (n=6) or intramedullary nail (n=2). Women can have fear of childbirth (FOC) in advance of their first pregnancy and such fear can have implications for reproductive and eventual childbirth choices. This study aims to further our understanding of the role of self-compassion in FOC in young childless women, including possible pathways through which self-compassion might relate to less FOC through natural and medical birth beliefs.
In this correlational study, 316 young childless Australian women completed measures of self-compassion, natural and medical birth beliefs, and FOC.
Self-compassion predicted less FOC, and although self-compassion as a total score did not relate to natural birth beliefs, it did relate to lower scores on medical birth beliefs. The indirect effect through medical birth beliefs was supported; greater self-compassion predicted lower scores on medical birth beliefs, which in turn predicted less FOC.

To optimize a protocol for the steroid administration approach for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL) in China. A questionnaire was distributed to otolaryngologists. The data on demographics, indications for first-line and salvage treatment, such as intratympanic administration of steroids (ITS) and postauricular steroids (PAS), and procedures were analyzed. 74 respondents used oral steroids, 112 used intravenous injections, 10 used ITS and 6 used PAS as a monotherapy for first-line treatment, and 135 used ITS or PAS in conjunction with oral or intravenous injection as a first-line treatment. Of the 249 respondents who used ITS, 97.19% adopted it as salvage therapy. The most commonly used steroid was 0.5 ml dexamethasone at 5 mg/ml and the most common side effect was pain. Of the 174 respondents who used PAS, 94.25% used it as salvage therapy. The most commonly used steroid was 0.5 ml methylprednisolone mixed with 0.5 ml lidocaine. We describe a case series of patients treated with external and internal fixation techniques followed by total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) in a staged approach to treat this complex presentation. Eight patients with limb deformity and end-stage ankle OA who underwent staged deformity correction and TAA from 2016 to 2019 at our institution were retrospectively identified. Average age was 58.5 (range, 49-68) years, with an average follow-up of 2.6 (range, 0.8-4.2) years. Due to the poor controlled release ability, bio-based materials are difficult for large scale application on controlled release fertilizers (CRFs). Starch-based polyol (SP) and castor oil (CO) were mutually modified, and a cross-linked polymer film was formed on the surface of urea by in-situ reaction, which improved the slow release ability of the bio-based material. The results showed that increasing the CO ratio reduced porosity of coating and prolonged the nitrogen (N) release period, while the SP changed the high-temperature wrinkle characteristics and regulated the early N release rate. The mutual modification achieved an ultra-long release period of bio-based CRUs for 7 months. The degradation rate during nine months of bio-based coatings (5.05 %) was significantly higher than that of petroleum-based (3.74 %), and the coating was non-toxic to rice seeds. However, the swelling capacity decreased with increasing K2SO4 concentration and followed the order of WRS less then JRS less then IRS, which decreased sharply from 27.3 to 2.5 g/g for WRS. K2SO4 dramatically reduced the pasting viscosity of starch pastes due to the decreased swelling capacity. Firstly, a general overview of the working mechanisms and materials for high-performance TENGs were summarized and discussed. Then, the recent progress of polysaccharide-based TENGs along with their potential applications reported in the literature from 2015 to 2020 was reviewed. Here, we aimed to present polysaccharide polymers as a promising and viable alternative to the development of green TENGs and tackle the challenges of recycling e-wastes.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR), currently considered as a neurovascular disease, has become the major cause of blindness. More and more scholars believe that DR is no longer just a kind of microvascular disease, but accompanied by retinal neurodegenerative changes. Intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs is a classic treatment for DR; however, anti-VEGF drugs can exacerbate fibrosis and eventually lead to retinal detachment. The aim of this study was to explore the pathogenesis of DR and identified new treatments that can provide dual-target intervention for angiogenesis and fibrosis.
We explored changes in gene expression in high glucose-induced vascular endothelial cells using RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) technology. We identified bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) and SMAD family member 9 (SMAD9) among 449 differentially expressed genes from RNA-seq data and confirmed the expression of these two genes in the blood of diabetes patients by RT-PCR and in streptozotocin-inducsignificantly upregulate the expression of SMAD9 and promote the expression of VEGF and fibrosis factors.

In this post hoc analysis of the Ticagrelor in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) trial, we aimed to analyse patients treated with CABG receiving either complete revascularization (CR) or incomplete revascularization (ICR) independent from random allocation to either ticagrelor or aspirin.
Of 1859 patients enrolled in the Ticagrelor in CABG trial, 1550 patients (83.4%) received CR and 309 patients (16.6%) ICR. Outcomes were evaluated regarding all-cause mortality, cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction (MI), repeat revascularization, stroke and bleeding within 12 months after CABG.
Baseline parameters revealed significant differences regarding clinical presentation (stable angina pectoris CR 68.9% vs ICR 71.2%, instable angina pectoris 14.1% vs 7.8%, non-ST elevation MI 17.0% vs 21.0%, P Ë‚ 0.01), lesion characteristics (chronic total occlusion CR 91.3% vs ICR 96.8%, P Ë‚ 0.01), operative technique [off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery (OPCAB) CR 3.0% vs ICR 6.1%, P Ë‚ 0.01] and number of utilicclusion lesions and performed OPCAB. Although mortality presented no difference between groups, our results suggest that patients benefit from CR with regard to prevention of repeat revascularization.
Inflammatory bowel disease poses substantial challenges to travel. We aimed to investigate inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD)-associated challenges to travel, information-seeking behaviour and associated factors.
We collected data on patients' demographics, disease characteristics, travel barriers, information-seeking behaviour and travel outcomes in UK, Australia, New Zealand and Israel (2016-2018). Summary statistics were used to describe the sample, whereas multivariate binary and nominal logistic regression were used to model the outcome variables.
Almost 75.4% (1878/2491) participants' data were analysed with 71.14%, 15.4%, 11.2% and 2.1% from UK, Australia, NZ and Israel, respectively (76.3% females, 48.2% 30-49years old 58.8% Crohn's disease). About 7.7% of study participants sought medical advice/were hospitalised while overseas. About 43.8% cancelled/changed their plans due to IBD. The most common barriers were worry about toilet facilities (76.3%), cleanliness/sanitation (50.9%) and availabilitm all the surveyed countries provided similar travel barrier and preparation habits, highlighting the consistent nature of the challenge.
25-Hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] may be a poor marker of vitamin D status as it reflects differences in vitamin D binding protein (VDBP) between individuals. The vitamin D metabolite ratio [VMR, ratio of 24,25(OH)2D3 to 25(OH)D3] is a marker of vitamin D status that has been hypothesized to be independent of variability in VDBP. This hypothesis has not been directly evaluated.
We measured 25(OH)D3, 24,25(OH)2D3, 1,25(OH)2D3, and VDBP in 377 community-dwelling older adults that participated in the Health Aging and Body Composition Study. 24,25(OH)2D3 and 25(OH)D3 were used to calculate the VMR. We used linear regression to assess the relationship between VDBP with the VMR, 24,25(OH)2D3, 25(OH)D3, and 1,25(OH)2D3.

The aim of this study was to explore the pathogenesis of DR and identified new treatments that can provide dual-target intervention for angiogenesis and fibrosis. We explored changes in gene expression in high glucose-induced vascular endothelial cells using RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) technology. We identified bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) and SMAD family member 9 (SMAD9) among 449 differentially expressed genes from RNA-seq data and confirmed the expression of these two genes in the blood of diabetes patients by RT-PCR and in streptozotocin-inducsignificantly upregulate the expression of SMAD9 and promote the expression of VEGF and fibrosis factors. In this post hoc analysis of the Ticagrelor in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) trial, we aimed to analyse patients treated with CABG receiving either complete revascularization (CR) or incomplete revascularization (ICR) independent from random allocation to either ticagrelor or aspirin. Of 1859 patients enrolled in the Ticagrelor in CABG trial, 1550 patients (83.4%) received CR and 309 patients (16.6%) ICR. Outcomes were evaluated regarding all-cause mortality, cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction (MI), repeat revascularization, stroke and bleeding within 12 months after CABG. Baseline parameters revealed significant differences regarding clinical presentation (stable angina pectoris CR 68.9% vs ICR 71.2%, instable angina pectoris 14.1% vs 7.8%, non-ST elevation MI 17.0% vs 21.0%, P Ë‚ 0.01), lesion characteristics (chronic total occlusion CR 91.3% vs ICR 96.8%, P Ë‚ 0.01), operative technique [off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery (OPCAB) CR 3.0% vs ICR 6.1%, P Ë‚ 0.01] and number of utilicclusion lesions and performed OPCAB. Inflammatory bowel disease poses substantial challenges to travel. We aimed to investigate inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD)-associated challenges to travel, information-seeking behaviour and associated factors. We collected data on patients' demographics, disease characteristics, travel barriers, information-seeking behaviour and travel outcomes in UK, Australia, New Zealand and Israel (2016-2018). Summary statistics were used to describe the sample, whereas multivariate binary and nominal logistic regression were used to model the outcome variables. Almost 75.4% (1878/2491) participants' data were analysed with 71.14%, 15.4%, 11.2% and 2.1% from UK, Australia, NZ and Israel, respectively (76.3% females, 48.2% 30-49years old 58.8% Crohn's disease). About 7.7% of study participants sought medical advice/were hospitalised while overseas. About 43.8% cancelled/changed their plans due to IBD. This hypothesis has not been directly evaluated. We measured 25(OH)D3, 24,25(OH)2D3, 1,25(OH)2D3, and VDBP in 377 community-dwelling older adults that participated in the Health Aging and Body Composition Study. 24,25(OH)2D3 and 25(OH)D3 were used to calculate the VMR. We used linear regression to assess the relationship between VDBP with the VMR, 24,25(OH)2D3, 25(OH)D3, and 1,25(OH)2D3. Participants had mean age 75 ± 3 years, 52% were female, 40% were black, and 24% had chronic kidney disease. VDBP concentrations were associated with sex, serum albumin, and VDBP phenotype in multivariable models. Undetected clinical deterioration is a major cause of high mortality events in Emergency Department (ED) patients. Yet, there is no known model to guide the recognition and response to clinical deterioration in the ED, integrating internal and external resources.
An integrative review was firstly conducted to identify the critical components of recognising and responding to clinical deterioration in the ED. Components identified from the review were analysed by clinical experts and informed the development of an ED Clinical Emergency Response System (EDCERS).
Twenty four eligible studies were included in the review. Eight core components were identified 1) vital sign monitoring; 2) track and trigger system; 3) communication plan; 4) response time; 5) emergency nurse response; 6) emergency physician response; 7) critical care team response; and 8) specialty team response. These components informed the development of the EDCERS protocol, integrating responses from staff internal and external to the ED.
EDCERS was based on the best available evidence and considered the cultural context of care. Future research is needed to determine the useability and impact of EDCERS on patient and health outcomes.

Midline laparotomy is the definitive treatment for sigmoid volvulus after initial colonoscopic detorsion. We successfully adopted another technique at our center on 6 patients, treating sigmoid volvulus by left iliac fossa mini-incision.
We report our experience of six non-consecutive cases of sigmoid volvulus treated by left iliac fossa mini-incision. The cases were a 33 year old Egyptian female, a 21 year old Bangladeshi male, a 58 year old Qatari male, a 30 year old Ethiopian male, a 36 year old Ugandan male, and a 58 year old Indian male. The six cases are unique in the surgical technique employed in their management. This is possibly the second case series of left iliac fossa mini-incision for sigmoid volvulus in the Middle East and North Africa Region.
All patients underwent initial colonoscopic detorsion followed by sigmoidectomy and anastomosis. The procedure was successful in treating the volvulus in five patients with no complication or recurrence over a mean follow up of 8 months (range 1-36 months). One patient required further laparotomy and resection with anastomosis due to incompletely removed sigmoid colon.

Within the broader literature, hope has contributed to better mental health and bereavement adjustment and often bereaved mothers report the importance of hope for the grieving process.
This study aims to explore bereaved mothers' experience of hope following perinatal death.
Individual interviews were conducted with 33 mothers having experienced the death of an infant in the perinatal period. Data from the interviews were analysed using thematic analysis.
The mothers' experience of hope following perinatal loss is organized into three themes Hope disrupted by perinatal loss; Transformed hope a new pregnancy challenged by the sense of foreboding of another loss; and Ways to restore and foster hope in life.
Although hope has been a motivating force for mothers to reconnect with their life plan and move on after a loss, it is also negatively affected by the ee, considering the aspects that instil, maintain, and interfere with hope.

Infection was confirmed by realtime reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antibody testing. We describe the epidemiological and clinical data, laboratory and imaging findings, as well as treatment and outcome in these patients. In light of these findings, patients were classified into two severity groups and then compared.
Thirty-nine children were included, with a median age of 9 years (range 12 days-16 years); 23 were boys. Cases with uncomplicated disease course (24) mostly presented to the emergency department (ED) with fever and/or respiratory symptoms without significant alterations in laboratory findings. Of the 15 children with a compatory symptoms without altered laboratory-test results generally have an uncomplicated course. Patients with complicated disease present mainly with fever and abdominal and/or mucocutaneous symptoms. Most develop shock. Elevation of inflammatory markers may allow for early detection and the final outcome is good.
Metastatic prostatic adenocarcinoma (PAC) has mostly involved the pelvic lymph nodes; metastases to the cervical lymph nodes are exceedingly rare.
A retrospective review of cytopathology files (January 1990 to March 2019) identified 13 cases of metastatic PAC to cervical lymph nodes diagnosed using fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). The clinical and demographic information were collected from the electronic medical records, and the slides were reviewed.

Each functional annotation was assigned one point, and those genes with a score ≥2 were designated "biological CRC risk genes". Using this method, we revealed 82 biological CRC risk genes, which were mapped to 128 genes in an expanded PPI network. Further utilizing DrugBank and the Therapeutic Target Database, we found 21 genes in our list that are targeted by 166 candidate drugs. Based on data from ClinicalTrials.gov and literature review, we found four known target genes with six drugs for clinical treatment in CRC, and three target genes with nine drugs supported by previous preclinical results in CRC. Additionally, 12 genes are targeted by 32 drugs approved for other indications, which can possibly be repurposed for CRC treatment. Strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and filamentous fungi and yeasts were selected to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of oncocalyxone A. The antibacterial effect of oncocalyxone A was studied using survival curves, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and the involvement of oxidative stress. We examined the inhibitory action of the molecule on biofilm formation and its hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes. Our results showed that among the strains tested, Staphylococcus epidermidis was highly sensitive to the action of oncocalyxone A, with an ****of 9.43 μg/mL. In most bacterial strains analyzed, a bacteriostatic effect was observed, though the molecule showed no antifungal activity. Antibiofilm activity was observed against the methicillin-resistant S. aureus bacteria. Additionally, results from atomic force microscopy imaging showed that oncocalyxone A significantly altered bacterial morphology. Further, oncocalyxone A showed no hemolytic activity at concentrations ≥151 μg/mL. In addition to B. fragilis toxin (BFT) and its potential role in the diarrhea and cancer development, some other important virulence factors and characteristics of B. fragilis are described including capsular polysaccharides, iron acquisition, resistance to antimicrobial agents, and survival during the prolonged oxidative stress, quorum sensing, and secretion systems.Retrospective diagnosis of a bacterial collection (n = 31) originated from five farms reportedly affected by early mortality syndrome (EMS) in Southeast Asia in 2016 revealed that 9/31 isolates from two farms tested positive for V. parahaemolyticus causing acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (VPAHPND). Molecular analysis of the 22 remaining isolates showed that 21 isolates belong to Vibrio species including VPnon-AHPND, V. vulnificus, V. cholerae, V. owensii and V. alginolyticus. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular epidemiology of CR-hvKp strains that were isolated from an Iranian hospital. A total of 74 non-duplicated carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CR-Kp) were collected from patients' clinical or surveillance cultures. Resistance/virulence genes were identified by PCR and sequencing. String test, capsular genotyping, conjugation assays, PCR-based replicon typing, pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and were performed. All 74 CR-Kp isolates were carbapenemase producers, which co-carried multiple resistance genes such as blaCTX-M-15, blaTEM-1, blaSHV-type, qnrB1, and qnrS1. The most common carbapenemase gene was blaOXA-48 (67/74 90.5%), followed by blaNDM-1 (18/74 24.3%), and blaNDM-7 (3/74 4%). PFGE typing showed 5 different clusters with two major clusters B (39 isolates, 52.7%) associated with sequence type 11 (ST11), and A (21 isolates, 28.4%) associated with ST893. Furthermore, ST147, ST392, and ST15 carbapenemase producers have also been sporadically identified. One isolate belonging to ST11 was resistant to colistin and were negative for mcr-1-2-3 genes. Insertional inactivation of mgrB due to IS elements was observed in the colistin-resistant isolate. Our findings suggest that ST11 CR-hvKP strain has a clonal distribution in our hospital. Therefore, immediate implementation of infection-control measures may be the best way to prevent the spread of these clones.

Molecular analysis of the 22 remaining isolates showed that 21 isolates belong to Vibrio species including VPnon-AHPND, V. vulnificus, V. cholerae, V. owensii and V. alginolyticus. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular epidemiology of CR-hvKp strains that were isolated from an Iranian hospital. A total of 74 non-duplicated carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CR-Kp) were collected from patients' clinical or surveillance cultures. Resistance/virulence genes were identified by PCR and sequencing. String test, capsular genotyping, conjugation assays, PCR-based replicon typing, pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and were performed. All 74 CR-Kp isolates were carbapenemase producers, which co-carried multiple resistance genes such as blaCTX-M-15, blaTEM-1, blaSHV-type, qnrB1, and qnrS1. The most common carbapenemase gene was blaOXA-48 (67/74 90.5%), followed by blaNDM-1 (18/74 24.3%), and blaNDM-7 (3/74 4%). Capsular genotyping revealed that 34 and 10 CR-Kp strains belonged to the K1 and K2 serotypes, respectively. rmpA was the most prevalent virulence gene detected in 64.8% of the isolates. Fifty two strains were identified as CR-hvKp. PFGE typing showed 5 different clusters with two major clusters B (39 isolates, 52.7%) associated with sequence type 11 (ST11), and A (21 isolates, 28.4%) associated with ST893. Furthermore, ST147, ST392, and ST15 carbapenemase producers have also been sporadically identified. One isolate belonging to ST11 was resistant to colistin and were negative for mcr-1-2-3 genes. Insertional inactivation of mgrB due to IS elements was observed in the colistin-resistant isolate. Our findings suggest that ST11 CR-hvKP strain has a clonal distribution in our hospital.
