The main analyses include collaboration analyses between countries/institutions/authors, co-occurrence analysis between keywords, as well as analyses on keyword bursts, citation references, and clusters of references. Results A total of 829 papers were obtained with a continually increased trend over time. The most productive country and institution in this field were the People's Republic of China (475) and KyungHee University (70), respectively. Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine (83) was the most productive journal, and Neuroimage (454) was the most co-cited journal. Dhond's et al. (2008) article (co-citation counts 58) and Napadow's et al. (2005) article (centrality 0.21) were the most representative and symbolic references, with the highest co-citation number and centrality, respectively. Jie Tian had the highest number of publications (35) and Kathleen K S Hui was the most influential author (280 co-citations). The four hot topics in MRI on acupuncture were acupuncture, fMRI, pain, and stimulation. The three frontier topics were connectivity, modulation, and fMRI. Based on the clustering of co-cited documents, chronic low **** pain, sham electro-acupuncture treatment, and clinical research were the main research directions. Such coarse-to-fine estimation facilitates the progressive refinement of the predicted registration field, which enables our network to handle large deformations between volumetric data. In addition, we integrate edge information with the original images as dual-inputs, which enhances the texture structures of image content, to impel the proposed network pay extra attention to the edge-aware information for structure alignment. The efficacy of our EPReg was extensively evaluated on three public brain MRI datasets including Mindboggle101, LPBA40, and IXI30. Experiments demonstrate our EPReg consistently outperformed several cutting-edge methods with respect to the metrics of Dice index (DSC), Hausdorff distance (HD), and average symmetric surface distance (ASSD). To evaluate coagulation and fibrinolytic parameters after total joint arthroplasty (TJA) and provide evidence for optimization of timing of perioperative anticoagulation medicine.
The prospective study was conducted at the Jishuitan Hospital of Peking University from January to April in 2016, and comprised patients who were scheduled consecutively to undergo primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) or total hip arthroplasty (THA). Blood samples were obtained at day 1 preoperatively and day1, day 3 postoperatively. Antigenic levels of protein C (PC), endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR), tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI), antithrombin III (AT-III), plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1) and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) were measured with commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits.
Postoperative levels of coagulation parameters TFPI and AT-III were increased compared to preoperative values (118.7±34.6 vs 70.0±20.5 μg/ml for AT-III, and 26.37±7.91vs 16.68±8.92 μg/l for TFPI), while postoperative levels of coagulation parameters PC and EPCR were decreased (0.88±0.30 vs 2.03±0.66 μg/ml for PC, and 100.8±31.0 vs 199.4±57.4 μg/ml for EPCR). Postoperative levels of fibrinolytic parameter tPA was increased compared to preoperative values (2.87±0.83 vs 2.03±1.03 μg/l), while its specific inhibitor PAI-1 was decreased (0.88±0.30 vs 2.03±0.66 μg/l).

This project aimed at determining time-dependent ultrastructural and haematological changes taking place in blood stored in local blood banks of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It was a longitudinal study with repeated measures design. Twenty healthy blood donors participated in this study. An amount of 250ml blood was collected from each donor and stored in Citrate Phosphate Dextrose Adenine-1 (CPDA-1)- containing blood bags. Within first four hours, baseline samples were taken while subsequent samples were obtained at 5 days interval till day 20th. Structural changes in RBCs were observed under light and scanning electron microscope (SEM) at different intervals. Furthermore, haematological parameters and osmotic fragility were also determined.
Remarkable alterations were seen in RBCs morphology. From 5th day onwards, multiple visible spicules were observed on the RBC's outer membrane and more than 2/3rd cells were abnormal at day 20. There was a significant reduction in RBCs count and haemoglobin concentration while the remaining parameters remained unchanged. Osmotic fragility increased significantly over time, with <1% haemolysis noted in baseline samples as compared to 2.4% haemolysis on day 20th (p≤0.0001).

To determine the clinical presentation, aetiology and outcome of pancreatitis in paediatric population.
The retrospective study was conducted at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, Pakistan, and comprised data of children with pancreatitis presenting between 2013 and 2018. Medical records were reviewed and findings of clinical, laboratory workup and management were noted on a specifically developed proforma. Data was analysed using SPSS 23.
Of the 51 subjects, 28(54.9%) were boys. The overall mean age was 10.6±4.9 years. The most frequent clinical symptom was epigastric pain 39(76.5%). The most common aetiology was gallstones/pancreatic stones 19(37.25%). Mean hospital stay was 5.1±1.8 days, and it was longer in children aged up to 5 years compared to older children (p<0.05). Acute pancreatitis was seen in 23(45.09%) patients, followed by recurrent 19(37.25%) and chronic 9(17.64%). There was no mortality.
Timely diagnosis and prompt management of haemodynamic status could lead to successful recovery without any serious complications in paediatric pancreatitis.

The retrospective study was conducted at The Indus Hospital, Karachi, and comprised data of patients aged 1-17 years who were diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia from July 2013 to June 2017. Data was analysed using SPSS 21.
Of the 237 patients, 137(58%) were males and 100(42%) were females. The overall mean age was 8±4.34 years. Cytogenetic testing had been performed in 212(89.45%) cases, and core binding factor was detected in 72(34%) cases. There was significant difference between the mean values of white cell count and the subtypes (p=0.000). Also the difference between core binding factor and the subtypes was significant (p=0.000).

The aim of this study was to describe and identify clinical presentation of primary immunodeficiency disorders (PIDs). Characteristic quantitative and qualitative immunological abnormalities have been described which help in establishing a definitive PID diagnosis.
This was a cross sectional study conducted in the Immunology department of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, from Jan 2016 to Dec 2018. Sixty patients of different PIDs including humoral defects, combined immunodeficiency, phagocytic defects and other miscellaneous disorders, were diagnosed over a period of 3 years in our institute. Their clinical presentation and laboratory data are presented in this study.
In 3 years, 40 (66%) males and 20 (33%) females were diagnosed, with 13 (21.6%) patients of humoral deficiency, 22 (36.6%) of severe combined immunodeficiency, 18 (30%) of phagocytic defects and 7 (11.6%) of other miscellaneous disorders. Maximum patients belonged to Punjab province, i.e., 23 (38.3%). Their mean age for initiation of symptoms was 7±12.

The results revealed that older adults adopting egocentric strategy completed the navigation task as accurate as young adults, whereas older adults using non-egocentric strategy completed the navigation task with more detours and lower accuracy. The relatively well-maintained egocentric strategy in older adults was related to better visuo-spatial ability.

The theme of young family caregivers of older relatives is still partially uncovered, although the phenomenon is increasing worldwide. This Systematic Literature Review discusses methodological and content issues of ten articles covering this topic, in order to contribute to increase the knowledge and provide suggestions for designing effective support services for adolescent young caregivers. To this purpose, the findings of this review are framed within the caregiving stress appraisal model (renamed CSA model) elaborated by Yates' and collegues, in order to highlight differences between young caregivers and the older ones.

Over 2 billion people suffer from vision impairment or blindness globally, and access to validated visual measurement tools in imperative in accurately describing and managing the burden of eye disease. The present study applies contemporary psychometric validation techniques to the widely used 33-item Indian Visual Function Questionnaire (IND-VFQ-33).
We first estimated the polychoric correlation between each pair of items. Next, an unrotated and oblique Promax rotated factor analysis, item response theory (IRT, using a graded response model (GRM)), and differential item functioning (DIF) testing were applied to the IND-VFQ-33. We subsequently propose a validated IND-VFQ-33 questionnaire after psychometric testing, data reduction, and adjustment.

The Massachusetts General Hospital is a large, quaternary care institution with 58 operating rooms, 164 anesthesiologists, 76 certified nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), an anesthesiology residency program that admits 25 residents annually, and 35 surgeons who perform laparoscopic, vaginal, and open hysterectomies. In March of 2018, our institution launched an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathway for patients undergoing hysterectomy. To implement the anesthesia bundle of this pathway, an intensive 14-month educational endeavor was created and put into effect. There were no subsequent additional educational interventions.
We retrospectively reviewed records of 2570 patients who underwent hysterectomy between October 2016 and March 2020 to determine adherence to the anesthesia bundle of the ERAS Hysterectomy pathway.
Increased adherence to the four elements of the anesthesia bundle (p< 0.001) was achieved during the intervention period. Compliance with the pathway was sustained in the post-intervention period despite no additional actions.

This Systematic Literature Review discusses methodological and content issues of ten articles covering this topic, in order to contribute to increase the knowledge and provide suggestions for designing effective support services for adolescent young caregivers. To this purpose, the findings of this review are framed within the caregiving stress appraisal model (renamed CSA model) elaborated by Yates' and collegues, in order to highlight differences between young caregivers and the older ones. Multiple databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, ProQuest - Psychology Database, CINAHL Complete - EBSCOHost were used to carry out a systematic review of the literature. Additional references were retrieved from experts contacted and research knowledge. Calcium waves propagating in the astrocyte networks are shown.True blister beetles (genus Epicauta, family Meloidae) produce cantharidin, which can cause toxicosis in humans and animals. Some recent reports suggest that poisoning by the blister beetle has occurred in the Mediterranean part of Slovenia, which has never been reported before. Drought and modern harvesting techniques are thought to increase the likelihood of blister beetle forage contamination and cantharidin intoxication in animals. A survey of fields associated with blister beetle contamination was conducted and the Meloid species present were identified. Entomological surveillance was conducted for Mylabris variabilis and Epicauta rufidorsum. Cantharidin concentrations were also measured in both blister beetle species. Cantharidin concentration in Mylabris variabilis (n = 17) ranged from 0.038 to 0.354 µg/mg (mean 0.151 µg/mg). Cantharidin concentration in Epicauta rufidorsum (n = 36) ranged from 0.055 to 0.341 µg/mg (mean 0.142 µg/mg). https://www.selleckchem.com/products/gsk3787.html Both species exhibited variable concentrations of cantharidin that could not be associated with their biology, sex, age, size, and/or reproductive status. Predicting which sense codons are most amenable to reassignment and which orthogonal translation machinery is best suited to each codon is challenging. This manuscript describes the directed evolution of a new, highly efficient variant of the Methanosarcina barkeri pyrrolysyl orthogonal tRNA/aaRS pair that activates and incorporates tyrosine. The evolved M. barkeri tRNA/aaRS pair reprograms the amber stop codon with 98.1 ± 3.6% efficiency in E. coli DH10B, rivaling the efficiency of the wild-type tyrosine-incorporating Methanocaldococcus jannaschii orthogonal pair. The new orthogonal pair is deployed for the rapid evaluation of sense codon reassignment potential using our previously developed fluorescence-based screen. Measurements of sense codon reassignment efficiencies with the evolved M. barkeri machinery are compared with related measurements employing the M. jannaschii orthogonal pair system. Importantly, we observe different patterns of sense codon reassignment efficiency for the M. jannaschii tyrosyl and M. barkeri pyrrolysyl systems, suggesting that particular codons will be better suited to reassignment by different orthogonal pairs. A broad evaluation of sense codon reassignment efficiencies to tyrosine with the M. barkeri system will highlight the most promising positions at which the M. barkeri orthogonal pair may infiltrate the E. coli genetic code.The mechanosensitivity of cells has recently been identified as a process that could greatly influence a cell's fate. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is one of the leading tools used to characterize mechanically biological tissues. It appears that the elasticity (elastic modulus) values obtained by AFM presents a log-normal distribution. Despite its ubiquity, the log-normal distribution concerning the elastic modulus of biological tissues does not have a clear explanation. In this paper, we propose a physical mechanism based on the weak universality of critical exponents in the percolation process leading to gelation. Following this, we discuss the relevance of this model for mechanical signatures of biological tissues.In the current study, functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) was used to collect resting-state signals from 77 males with autism spectrum disorders (ASD, age 6~16.25) and 40 typically developing (TD) males (age 6~16.58) in the theory-of-mind (ToM) network. The graph theory analysis was used to obtain the brain network properties in ToM network, and the multiple regression analysis demonstrated that males with ASD showed a comparable global network topology, and a similar age-related decrease in the medial prefrontal cortex area (mPFC) compared to TD individuals. Nevertheless, participants with ASD showed U-shaped trajectories of nodal metrics of right temporo-parietal junction (TPJ), and an age-related decrease in the left middle frontal gyrus (MFG), while trajectories of TD participants were opposite. The nodal metrics of the right TPJ was negatively associated with the social deficits of ASD, while the nodal metrics of the left MFG was negatively associated with the communication deficits of ASD. Current findings suggested a distinct developmental trajectory of the ToM network in males with ASD from childhood to adolescence.Several polyclad flatworm species are known to contain high levels of tetrodotoxin (TTX), but currently TTX-bearing flatworms seem to be restricted to specific Planocera lineages belonging to the suborder Acotylea. During our ongoing study of flatworm toxins, high concentrations of TTXs were detected for the first time in the flatworm Prosthiostomum trilineatum, suborder Cotylea, from the coastal area of Hayama, Kanagawa, Japan. Toxin levels were investigated by high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), revealing that this species contains comparable concentrations of toxins as seen in planocerid flatworms such as Planocera multitentaculata. This finding indicated that there may be other species with significant levels of TTXs. The distribution of TTXs among other flatworm species is thus of great interest.

Optical property modulation induced by ionizing radiation is a promising approach for ultra-fast, lower time jitter detection of photon arrival time. If successful, this method can be utilized in time-of-flight positron emission tomography to achieve a coincidence time resolution approaching 10 ps. In this work, the optical property modulation based method is further developed with focus on a detection setup based on two crossed polarizers. Previous work demonstrated that such an optical setup could be utilized in radiation detection, though its detection sensitivity needed improvement. This work investigates the angle between polarizers and electric field distribution within the detection crystal to understand and improve the detection sensitivity of an optical polarization modulation based method. For this work, cadmium telluride (CdTe) was studied as the detector crystal . The 'magic' angle (i.e. optimal working angle) of the two crossed polarizers based optical setup with CdTe were explored theoretically and experimentally. The experimental results show that the detection sensitivity could be improved by around 10% by determining the appropriate 'magic' angle. We then studied the dependence of detection sensitivity on electric field distribution as well as on the bias voltage across the detector crystal using CdTe crystals. The experimental results show that a smaller electrode on the detector crystal, or a more concentrated electric field distribution could improve detection sensitivity. For CdTe, a detector crystal sample with 2.5 mm × 2.5 mm square electrode has twice the detection sensitivity of a detector crystal with 5 mm × 5 mm square electrode. Increasing the bias voltage before saturation for CdTe could further enhance the modulation strength and thus, the sensitivity. Our investigations demonstrated that by determining the proper working angle of polarizers and bias electrical distribution to the detector, we could improve the sensitivity of the proposed optical setup.We report growth, electronic structure and superconductivity of ultrathin epitaxial CoSi2 films on Si(111). At low coverages, preferred islands with 2, 5 and 6 monolayers height develop, which agrees well with the surface energy calculation. We observe clear quantum well states as a result of electronic confinement and their dispersion agrees well with density functional theory calculations, indicating weak correlation effect despite strong contributions from Co 3d electrons. Ex-situ transport measurements show that superconductivity persists down to at least 10 monolayers, with reduced Tc but largely enhanced upper critical field. Our study opens up the opportunity to study the interplay between quantum confinement, interfacial symmetry breaking and superconductivity in an epitaxial silicide film, which is technologically relevant in microelectronics.This work presents a H2S selective resistive gas sensor design based on a chemical field effect transistor (ChemFET) with open gate formed by hundreds of high temperature chemical vapour deposition (CVD) grown zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NW). The sensing ability of pristine ZnO NWs and surface functionalized ZnO NWs for H2S is analysed systematically. ZnO NWs are functionalized by deposition of discontinuous gold (Au) nanoparticle films of different thicknesses of catalyst layer ranging from 1 to 10 nm and are compared in their gas sensing properties. All experiments were performed in a temperature stabilized small volume compartment with adjustable gas mixture at room temperature. The results allow for a well-founded understanding of signal-to-noise ratio, enhanced response, and improved limit of detection due to the Au functionalisation. Comprehension and controlled application of the beneficial effects of Au catalyst on ZnO NWs allow for the detection of very low H2S concentrations down to 10 ppb, and a theoretically estimated 500 ppt in synthetic air at room temperature.We studied the applicability of Heusler alloys Mn2RuZ (Z = Al, Ga, Ge, Si) to the electrode materials of MgO-based magnetic tunnel junctions. All these alloys possess Hg2CuTi-type inverse Heusler alloy structure and ferrimagnetic ground state. Our study reveals the half-metallic electronic structure with highly spin-polarized Δ1band, which is robust against atomic disorder. Next we studied the electronic structure of Mn2RuAl/MgO and Mn2RuGe/MgO heterojunctions. We found that the MnAl- or MnGe-terminated interface is energetically more favorable compared to the MnRu-terminated interface. Interfacial states appear at the Fermi level in the minority-spin gap for the Mn2RuGe/MgO junction. We discuss the origin of these interfacial states in terms of local environment around each constituent atom. Optical property modulation induced by ionizing radiation is a promising approach for ultra-fast, lower time jitter detection of photon arrival time. If successful, this method can be utilized in time-of-flight positron emission tomography to achieve a coincidence time resolution approaching 10 ps. In this work, the optical property modulation based method is further developed with focus on a detection setup based on two crossed polarizers. Previous work demonstrated that such an optical setup could be utilized in radiation detection, though its detection sensitivity needed improvement. This work investigates the angle between polarizers and electric field distribution within the detection crystal to understand and improve the detection sensitivity of an optical polarization modulation based method. For this work, cadmium telluride (CdTe) was studied as the detector crystal . The 'magic' angle (i.e. optimal working angle) of the two crossed polarizers based optical setup with CdTe were explored theoretically and experimentally. The experimental results show that the detection sensitivity could be improved by around 10% by determining the appropriate 'magic' angle. We then studied the dependence of detection sensitivity on electric field distribution as well as on the bias voltage across the detector crystal using CdTe crystals. The experimental results show that a smaller electrode on the detector crystal, or a more concentrated electric field distribution could improve detection sensitivity. For CdTe, a detector crystal sample with 2.5 mm × 2.5 mm square electrode has twice the detection sensitivity of a detector crystal with 5 mm × 5 mm square electrode. Increasing the bias voltage before saturation for CdTe could further enhance the modulation strength and thus, the sensitivity. Our investigations demonstrated that by determining the proper working angle of polarizers and bias electrical distribution to the detector, we could improve the sensitivity of the proposed optical setup.We report growth, electronic structure and superconductivity of ultrathin epitaxial CoSi2 films on Si(111). At low coverages, preferred islands with 2, 5 and 6 monolayers height develop, which agrees well with the surface energy calculation. We observe clear quantum well states as a result of electronic confinement and their dispersion agrees well with density functional theory calculations, indicating weak correlation effect despite strong contributions from Co 3d electrons. Ex-situ transport measurements show that superconductivity persists down to at least 10 monolayers, with reduced Tc but largely enhanced upper critical field. Our study opens up the opportunity to study the interplay between quantum confinement, interfacial symmetry breaking and superconductivity in an epitaxial silicide film, which is technologically relevant in microelectronics.This work presents a H2S selective resistive gas sensor design based on a chemical field effect transistor (ChemFET) with open gate formed by hundreds of high temperature chemical vapour deposition (CVD) grown zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NW). The sensing ability of pristine ZnO NWs and surface functionalized ZnO NWs for H2S is analysed systematically. ZnO NWs are functionalized by deposition of discontinuous gold (Au) nanoparticle films of different thicknesses of catalyst layer ranging from 1 to 10 nm and are compared in their gas sensing properties. All experiments were performed in a temperature stabilized small volume compartment with adjustable gas mixture at room temperature. The results allow for a well-founded understanding of signal-to-noise ratio, enhanced response, and improved limit of detection due to the Au functionalisation. Comprehension and controlled application of the beneficial effects of Au catalyst on ZnO NWs allow for the detection of very low H2S concentrations down to 10 ppb, and a theoretically estimated 500 ppt in synthetic air at room temperature.We studied the applicability of Heusler alloys Mn2RuZ (Z = Al, Ga, Ge, Si) to the electrode materials of MgO-based magnetic tunnel junctions. All these alloys possess Hg2CuTi-type inverse Heusler alloy structure and ferrimagnetic ground state. Our study reveals the half-metallic electronic structure with highly spin-polarized Δ1band, which is robust against atomic disorder. Next we studied the electronic structure of Mn2RuAl/MgO and Mn2RuGe/MgO heterojunctions. We found that the MnAl- or MnGe-terminated interface is energetically more favorable compared to the MnRu-terminated interface. Interfacial states appear at the Fermi level in the minority-spin gap for the Mn2RuGe/MgO junction. We discuss the origin of these interfacial states in terms of local environment around each constituent atom. Because life saving evidence-based programs and services may be lost, intentional commitment to sustainment beyond the bolus of start-up funding is essential.We tested the effect of an annual caries preventive intervention, delivered by a fly-in/fly-out oral health professional team, with Indigenous children residing in a remote Australian community. Around 600 Indigenous children aged 5 to 17 years were invited to participate at baseline, of who 408 had caregiver consent. One hundred and ninety-six consented to the epidemiological examination and intervention (Intervention group) and 212 consented to the epidemiological examination only (Comparison group). The intervention, which occurred annually, comprised placement of fissure sealants on suitable teeth, and application of povidone-iodine and fluoride varnish to the whole dentition, following completion of any necessary restorative dental treatment. Standard diet and oral hygiene advice were provided. Caries increment (number of tooth surfaces with new dental caries) in both deciduous and permanent dentitions was measured at the 2-year follow-up. Comparison group children had significantly higher number of new surfaces with advanced caries in the permanent dentition than the Intervention group (IRR = 1.61; 95% CI 1.02-2.54; p = 0.04); with a preventive fraction of 43%. The effect of intervention remained significant with children in the Comparison group developing significantly more advanced caries lesions in the permanent dentition than the Intervention group children in the adjusted multivariable analysis (IRR = 2.21; 95% CI 1.03-4.71). Indigenous children exposed to the intervention had less increment in advanced dental caries in the permanent dentition than those not exposed to the intervention.The selection and classification of genes is essential for the identification of related genes to a specific disease. Developing a user-friendly application with combined statistical rigor and machine learning functionality to help the biomedical researchers and end users is of great importance. In this work, a novel stand-alone application, which is based on graphical user interface (GUI), is developed to perform the full functionality of gene selection and classification in high dimensional datasets. The so-called HDG-select application is validated on eleven high dimensional datasets of the format CSV and GEO soft. The proposed tool uses the efficient algorithm of combined filter-GBPSO-SVM and it was made freely available to users. It was found that the proposed HDG-select outperformed other tools reported in literature and presented a competitive performance, accessibility, and functionality.
Identification of vertebral fractures (VFs) is critical for effective secondary fracture prevention owing to their association with the increasing risks of future fractures. Plain abdominal frontal radiographs (PARs) are a common investigation method performed for a variety of clinical indications and provide an ideal platform for the opportunistic identification of VF. This study uses a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) to identify the feasibility for the screening, detection, and localization of VFs using PARs.
A DCNN was pretrained using ImageNet and retrained with 1306 images from the PARs database obtained between August 2015 and December 2018. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) were evaluated. The visualization algorithm gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM) was used for model interpretation.
Only 46.6% (204/438) of the VFs were diagnosed in the original PARs reports. The algorithm achieved 73.59% accuracy, 73.81% sensitivity, 73.02% specificity, and an AUC of 0.72 in the VF identification.
Computer driven solutions integrated with the DCNN have the potential to identify VFs with good accuracy when used opportunistically on PARs taken for a variety of clinical purposes. The proposed model can help clinicians become more efficient and economical in the current clinical pathway of fragile fracture treatment.

Early detection of infected HCWs can prevent spreading of the virus in hospitals among HCWs and patients. We conducted a cross-sectional study to determine the asymptomatic infection of HCWs in a private clinic in the city of Santiago, Chile. Our study was conducted during a period of 5 weeks at the peak of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in Chile. Nasopharyngeal samples were obtained from 413 HCWs and tested for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 using RT-qPCR. We found that a 3.14% of HCWs were positive for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 (14/413). Out of these, 7/14 were completely asymptomatic and did not develop symptoms within 3 weeks of testing. Sequencing of viral genomes showed the predominance of the GR clade; however, sequence comparison demonstrated numerous genetic differences among them suggesting community infection as the main focus of transmission among HCWs. Our study demonstrates that the protocols applied to protect HCWs and patients have been effective as no infection clusters due to asymptomatic carriers were found in the clinic. Together, these data suggest that infection with SARS-CoV-2 among HCWs of this health center is not nosocomial.Computational methods for protein structure modelling are routinely used to complement experimental structure determination, thus they help to address a broad spectrum of scientific questions in biomedical research. This study aims to explore the perceptions of gastric cancer patients, their family caregivers, physicians, and nurses of nutritional challenges.
Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study was conducted in 2019-2020. Twenty participants (6 patients, 6 family caregivers, 3 physicians, and 5 nurses) were selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and examined using qualitative content analysis.
Data analysis revealed three categories, each with two subcategories eating, an unpleasant experience that contains "a feeling like hyperemesis gravidarum" and "childish food excuses"; flexibility while adhering to a proper diet, which consists of "dietary dos and don'ts" and "nutritional leniency"; and nutrition with distress that contains "patient's sense of being an extra burden" and "provision of nutrition with suffering in caregivers."
Because of the significant physical and psychological impact of nutritional problems on patients and their caregivers, the need to provide care and education to these patients and their families using a multidisciplinary team is becoming more important.

IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a multi-organ immune-mediated disorder characterized by fibroinflammatory mass-forming lesions, mimicking malignancy or infection. While well-documented in salivary glands, orbit and thyroid in the head and neck, sinonasal IgG4-RD is rare.
Cases of sinonasal IgG4-RD were retrieved, and clinicopathological features reviewed.
Seven cases of sinonasal IgG4-RD were identified over a 2-year period, including three males and four females, with an age range of 13-48years(median 32years). Patients presented with cheek swelling, pain and visual disturbances. Serum IgG4 levels were mildly elevated. Storiform fibrosis, obliterative phlebitis and plasma cell infiltration were seen in varying proportions. Destruction of bone and subepithelialmucoserous glands was present. ALK-1 negativity distinguished from inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor.

Nasal irrigation is an effective method for alleviating several nasal symptoms and regular seawater-based nasal irrigation is useful for maintaining nasal hygiene which is essential for appropriate functioning of the nose and for preventing airborne particles including some pollutants, pathogens, and allergens from moving further in the respiratory system. However, safety studies on seawater-based nasal irrigation are scarce. In this study, the safety and efficacy of a diluted isotonic seawater solution (Stérimar Nasal Hygiene, SNH) in maintaining nasal homeostasis were evaluated in vitro.
Safety was assessed by measuring tissue integrity via transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER). Efficacy was measured by mucociliary clearance (MCC), mucin secretion, and tissue re-epithelization (wound repair) assays. All assays were performed using a 3D reconstituted human nasal epithelium model.
In SNH-treated tissues, TEER values were statistically significantly lower than the untreated tissues; however, the values were above the tissue integrity limit. SNH treatment significantly increased MCC (88 vs. 36µm/s, p < 0.001) and mucin secretion (1717 vs. 1280µg/ml, p < 0.001) as compared to untreated cultures. Faster wound closure profile was noted upon pre-SNH treatment as compared to classical isotonic saline solution pre-treatment (90.5 vs. 50.7% wound closure 22h after wound generation).

Spasmodic dysphonia (SD), a form of focal dystonia, has been defined as a neurogenic, task-specific disorder characterized by abrupt spasms of intrinsic laryngeal muscles that result in phonatory breaks. There are three classic types of SD adductor SD, abductor (ABSD) and mixed SD. Compared with the more common adductor form, treatment of ABSD with botulinum toxin injection is related to a shorter efficacy and improvement in only about 70% of patients [Blitzer et al. in Laryngoscope 1081435-1441, 1998]. IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a multi-organ immune-mediated disorder characterized by fibroinflammatory mass-forming lesions, mimicking malignancy or infection. While well-documented in salivary glands, orbit and thyroid in the head and neck, sinonasal IgG4-RD is rare. Cases of sinonasal IgG4-RD were retrieved, and clinicopathological features reviewed. Seven cases of sinonasal IgG4-RD were identified over a 2-year period, including three males and four females, with an age range of 13-48years(median 32years). Patients presented with cheek swelling, pain and visual disturbances. Serum IgG4 levels were mildly elevated. Storiform fibrosis, obliterative phlebitis and plasma cell infiltration were seen in varying proportions. Destruction of bone and subepithelialmucoserous glands was present. Nasal irrigation is an effective method for alleviating several nasal symptoms and regular seawater-based nasal irrigation is useful for maintaining nasal hygiene which is essential for appropriate functioning of the nose and for preventing airborne particles including some pollutants, pathogens, and allergens from moving further in the respiratory system. However, safety studies on seawater-based nasal irrigation are scarce. In this study, the safety and efficacy of a diluted isotonic seawater solution (Stérimar Nasal Hygiene, SNH) in maintaining nasal homeostasis were evaluated in vitro. Safety was assessed by measuring tissue integrity via transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER). Efficacy was measured by mucociliary clearance (MCC), mucin secretion, and tissue re-epithelization (wound repair) assays. All assays were performed using a 3D reconstituted human nasal epithelium model. In SNH-treated tissues, TEER values were statistically significantly lower than the untreated tissues; however, the values were above the tissue integrity limit. SNH treatment significantly increased MCC (88 vs. 36µm/s, p < 0.001) and mucin secretion (1717 vs. 1280µg/ml, p < 0.001) as compared to untreated cultures. Faster wound closure profile was noted upon pre-SNH treatment as compared to classical isotonic saline solution pre-treatment (90.5 vs. 50.7% wound closure 22h after wound generation). (1) A terrestrial control study ([Formula see text] subjects) with five experimental sessions to explore potential learning effects and interactions with haptic settings. (2) A space experiment ([Formula see text] cosmonauts) with a pre-mission, three mission sessions on board the ISS (2, 4, and 6 weeks in space), and a post-mission session. Results provide evidence that distorted proprioception significantly affects motion smoothness in the early phase of adaptation to microgravity, while the magnitude of this effect was moderated by cosmonauts' sensorimotor capabilities. Genotypic variability in M. hyopneumoniae has been reported within and among herds. However, information regarding VNTR types within single lung lobes is lacking. The objective of his study was to analyse M. hyopneumoniae infections and their association with VNTR types and lung lesions at the lobe level. Lungs from 300 pigs from 10 farms experiencing an enzootic pneumonia outbreak were collected and scored. M. hyopneumoniae was detected by real-time PCR and genotyped by MLVA assay in all samples.

This study aims to design and validate ten projective images of Young's Early Maladaptive Schema (EMS) domains. For this purpose, two questions are to be addressed. (1) How is the factorial structure of the projective images of EMS domains? (2) Do the images designed in the domains of disconnection and rejection, impaired autonomy and performance, impaired limits, other-directedness, and over-vigilance and inhibition have sufficient validity?
This is an applied mixed-methods exploratory study, in which the statistical population consisted of psychologists from Tehran Province in the qualitative section (n = 8) as well as other individuals aged between 18 and 65years (mean age = 33) from Qazvin in the quantitative section (n = 102) in 2018. The research questions were analyzed through principal axis factoring with a varimax rotation, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Cronbach's alpha.
According to the results, ten images and five domains of Young's EMSs contribute to a simple structure. Accounting for 70.35% of the total variance of EMSs, the five dimensions include disconnection and rejection, impaired autonomy and performance, impaired limits, other-directedness, and over-vigilance and inhibition.

Emodin, a natural anthraquinone, has shown potential as an effective therapeutic agent in the treatment of many diseases including cancer. However, its clinical development is hindered by uncertainties surrounding its potential toxicity. The primary purpose of this study was to uncover any potential toxic properties of emodin in **** at doses that have been shown to have efficacy in our cancer studies. In addition, we sought to assess the time course of emodin clearance when administered both intraperitoneally (I.P.) and orally (P.O.) in order to begin to establish effective dosing intervals.
We performed a subchronic (12 week) toxicity study using 3 different doses of emodin (~ 20 mg/kg, 40 mg/kg, and 80 mg/kg) infused into the AIN-76A diet of male and female C57BL/6 **** (n = 5/group/sex). Body weight and composition were assessed following the 12-week feeding regime. Tissues were harvested and assessed for gross pathological changes and blood was collected for a complete blood count and evaluation of aale and female **** when given at 20, 40, and 80 mg/kg doses for 12 weeks and 2) sex differences should be considered when establishing dosing intervals for emodin treatment.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including both Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, are chronic human diseases that are challenging to cure and are often unable to be resolved. The inbred mouse strain C57BL/6 N has been used in investigations of IBD as an experimental animal model. The purpose of the current study was to compare the inflammatory responsiveness of C57BL/6NKorl ****, a sub-strain recently established by the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS), with those of C57BL/6 N **** from two different sources using a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model.
Male **** (8 weeks old) were administered DSS (0, 1, 2, or 3%) in drinking water for 7 days. DSS significantly decreased body weight and colon length and increased the colon weight-to-length ratio. Moreover, severe colitis-related clinical signs including diarrhea and rectal bleeding were observed beginning on day 4 in **** administered DSS at a concentration of 3%. DSS led to edema, epithelial layer disruption, inflammatory cell infiltration, and cytokine induction (tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, and interleukin-1β) in the colon tissues. However, no significant differences in DSS-promoted abnormal symptoms or their severity were found between the three sub-strains.
These results indicate that C57BL/6NKorl **** responded to DSS-induced colitis similar to the generally used C57BL6/N ****, thus this newly developed mouse sub-strain provides a useful animal model of IBD.

However, its clinical development is hindered by uncertainties surrounding its potential toxicity. The primary purpose of this study was to uncover any potential toxic properties of emodin in mice at doses that have been shown to have efficacy in our cancer studies. In addition, we sought to assess the time course of emodin clearance when administered both intraperitoneally (I.P.) and orally (P.O.) in order to begin to establish effective dosing intervals. We performed a subchronic (12 week) toxicity study using 3 different doses of emodin (~ 20 mg/kg, 40 mg/kg, and 80 mg/kg) infused into the AIN-76A diet of male and female C57BL/6 mice (n = 5/group/sex). Body weight and composition were assessed following the 12-week feeding regime. Tissues were harvested and assessed for gross pathological changes and blood was collected for a complete blood count and evaluation of aale and female mice when given at 20, 40, and 80 mg/kg doses for 12 weeks and 2) sex differences should be considered when establishing dosing intervals for emodin treatment. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including both Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, are chronic human diseases that are challenging to cure and are often unable to be resolved. The inbred mouse strain C57BL/6 N has been used in investigations of IBD as an experimental animal model. The purpose of the current study was to compare the inflammatory responsiveness of C57BL/6NKorl mice, a sub-strain recently established by the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS), with those of C57BL/6 N mice from two different sources using a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model. Male mice (8 weeks old) were administered DSS (0, 1, 2, or 3%) in drinking water for 7 days. DSS significantly decreased body weight and colon length and increased the colon weight-to-length ratio. Moreover, severe colitis-related clinical signs including diarrhea and rectal bleeding were observed beginning on day 4 in mice administered DSS at a concentration of 3%. DSS led to edema, epithelial layer disruption, inflammatory cell infiltration, and cytokine induction (tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, and interleukin-1β) in the colon tissues. However, no significant differences in DSS-promoted abnormal symptoms or their severity were found between the three sub-strains. These results indicate that C57BL/6NKorl mice responded to DSS-induced colitis similar to the generally used C57BL6/N mice, thus this newly developed mouse sub-strain provides a useful animal model of IBD.
