The Social Support Behavior Code system was adapted and applied to cancer-caregiver journal entries (
= 389) and guestbook posts (
= 2,466) to identify types of support (emotional, esteem, informational, network, tangible, and no support requested/offered). Matches between requests and offers were examined.
Cancer caregivers requested different types of support from their guests, most commonly emotional support. However, in most posts, caregivers did not request any support (
= 238, 61.18%). Guests offered all support types, but predominately offered emotional support (
= 2,353, 95%). When support was requested, 66.67% of requests received a matched offer within 24 hours.

Using a content analysis of Facebook profiles, there is a reflection on how dialogic principles are applied in the management of Facebook by hospitals in Portugal. Special attention will be paid to communication regarding the Zika virus, which was of public interest at the time the empirical analysis was carried out. The purpose of this study was to examine the attributes and verify the definition of the partnership concept using the hybrid model.
A hybrid model was used to develop the concept of partnership. The hybrid model consists of three phases theoretical, fieldwork and final analytical. In the theoretical phase, a working definition of partnership was developed by an extensive review with 35 studies. The fieldwork phase comprised seven focused-group interviews with 35 participants consisted of 25 facility staff and 10 family caregivers in long-term care facilities. The final analytical phase compared and interpreted the findings from the first and second phases in order to clarify the concept of partnership.
The concept of partnership was found to have two dimensions interpersonal and environmental dimensions. The seven attributes emerged from this study. They included relationship, information sharing, shared decision-making, professional competence, negotiation, involvement in care, shared responsibility.
The partnership between family and staff in long-term care facilities was defined as an ongoing and dynamic process associated with interpersonal and environmental factors.

To evaluate the effectiveness of comprehensive rehabilitation using cellex in post-stroke patients in the late recovery period and the period of residual disorders in a prospective long-term study.
Clinical examination and comprehensive rehabilitation treatment of 115 patients, aged 27-69 years (mean 50,47±11,20 years), with ischemic stroke and stroke in the carotid territory (
=78, 67,8%) and hemorrhagic stroke (
=37, 32, 2%) was carried out in the inpatient Department of GBU «NORCI». Patients who received rehabilitation measures were divided into two groups depending on the medication. The main study group consisted of 56 patients (48,7%) who received a course of cellex in the rehabilitation complex, the comparison group (
=59, 51,6%) underwent treatment without medication.
The complex multi-course rehabilitation treatment using cellex in patients in the late recovery period and in the period of consequences of ischemic stroke, who have speech and motor disorders, is highly effective, and demonstrate good results despite the age of the disease.

The specific removal rates of erythromycin (ERY), fluoxetine (FLX), roxithromycin (ROX) and sulfamethoxazole (SMX) were successfully correlated with the specific nitrite removal rates, suggesting a co-metabolic biotransformation.Increased corticotroping releasing factor (CRF) contributes to brain circuit abnormalities associated with stress-related disorders including posttraumatic stress disorder. However, the causal relationship between CRF hypersignaling and circuit abnormalities associated with stress disorders is unclear. We hypothesized that increased CRF exposure induces changes in limbic circuit morphology and functions. An inducible, forebrain-specific overexpression of CRF (CRFOE) transgenic mouse line was used to longitudinally investigate its chronic effects on behaviors and microstructural integrity of several brain regions. Behavioral and diffusion tensor imaging studies were performed before treatment, after 3-4 wks of treatment, and again 3 mo after treatment ended to assess recovery. CRFOE was associated with increased perseverative movements only after 3 wks of treatment, as well as reduced fractional anisotropy at 3 wks in the medial prefrontal cortex and increased fractional anisotropy in the ventral hippocampus at 3 mo compared to the control group. In the dorsal hippocampus, mean diffusivity was lower in CRFOE **** both during and after treatment ended. Our data suggest differential response and recovery patterns of cortical and hippocampal subregions in response to CRFOE. Overall these findings support a causal relationship between CRF hypersignaling and microstructural changes in brain regions relevant to stress disorders.
Hepatitis C (HCV) is the most common infectious disease among people who inject drugs (PWID). Engaging PWID in harm reduction services, such as syringe service programs (SSPs), is critical to reduce HCV and HIV transmission. Additionally, testing for HIV and HCV among PWID is important to improve diagnosis and linkage to care. On March 1, 2018, Florida's only legal SSP implemented bundled opt-out HIV/HCV testing at enrollment. We aimed to examine the differences in HIV/HCV testing uptake before and after the implementation of the opt-out testing policy.
Multivariable logistic regression was used to assess predictors of accepting HIV/HCV tests, controlling for opt-in and opt-out policy. Monthly estimates of the percent of participants accepting an HIV test, HCV test, or both were generated. Interrupted Time Series (ITS) analysis evaluated the immediate policy impact on level of uptake and trend in uptake over time for bundled HIV/HCV testing before and after the opt-out testing policy.
The total study pesubstantially increased the percentage of SSP clients who received HIV and HCV rapid tests at enrollment into the program, and the effect remained stable across the 22 months post opt-out testing policy. Future investigation must assess PWID-level perspective of testing preferences and examine whether this testing approach improves HIV/HCV detection among PWID previously unaware of their status.

We sought to identify factors associated with disclosure of drug use to a healthcare provider and describe differences in self-reported quality of care received based on disclosure status.
A client-reported experience questionnaire on healthcare access and quality, adapted from the World Health Organization Survey on Health and Health System Responsiveness, was administered within two ongoing prospective cohort studies of PWUD in Vancouver, Canada. Respondents not currently receiving addiction treatment were asked about experience of care and drug use disclosure to their most commonly accessed outpatient healthcare provider in the past 6 months. We used an adjusted logistic regression model to identify client characteristics associated with disclosure.
From a total of 261 respondents (34.1% female), less than half (n=125, 47.8%) reported disclosing drug use to their hvasive stereotyping in the healthcare system and improved screening for substance use disorder in outpatient healthcare services.

We hypothesized that increased CRF exposure induces changes in limbic circuit morphology and functions. An inducible, forebrain-specific overexpression of CRF (CRFOE) transgenic mouse line was used to longitudinally investigate its chronic effects on behaviors and microstructural integrity of several brain regions. Behavioral and diffusion tensor imaging studies were performed before treatment, after 3-4 wks of treatment, and again 3 mo after treatment ended to assess recovery. CRFOE was associated with increased perseverative movements only after 3 wks of treatment, as well as reduced fractional anisotropy at 3 wks in the medial prefrontal cortex and increased fractional anisotropy in the ventral hippocampus at 3 mo compared to the control group. In the dorsal hippocampus, mean diffusivity was lower in CRFOE mice both during and after treatment ended. Our data suggest differential response and recovery patterns of cortical and hippocampal subregions in response to CRFOE. Overall these findings support a causal relationship between CRF hypersignaling and microstructural changes in brain regions relevant to stress disorders. Hepatitis C (HCV) is the most common infectious disease among people who inject drugs (PWID). Engaging PWID in harm reduction services, such as syringe service programs (SSPs), is critical to reduce HCV and HIV transmission. Additionally, testing for HIV and HCV among PWID is important to improve diagnosis and linkage to care. On March 1, 2018, Florida's only legal SSP implemented bundled opt-out HIV/HCV testing at enrollment. We aimed to examine the differences in HIV/HCV testing uptake before and after the implementation of the opt-out testing policy. Multivariable logistic regression was used to assess predictors of accepting HIV/HCV tests, controlling for opt-in and opt-out policy. Monthly estimates of the percent of participants accepting an HIV test, HCV test, or both were generated. Interrupted Time Series (ITS) analysis evaluated the immediate policy impact on level of uptake and trend in uptake over time for bundled HIV/HCV testing before and after the opt-out testing policy. The total study pesubstantially increased the percentage of SSP clients who received HIV and HCV rapid tests at enrollment into the program, and the effect remained stable across the 22 months post opt-out testing policy. Future investigation must assess PWID-level perspective of testing preferences and examine whether this testing approach improves HIV/HCV detection among PWID previously unaware of their status. Partially bio-based materials were applied to fabricate the stool models of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites (NFRP). A parametric design tool for the global design and fiber layout generation was developed. As a result, varieties of customized components can be produced without increasing the design and manufacturing effort.Hookah smoking has become common in the USA, especially among young adults. This study measured biomarkers of exposure to known tobacco product toxicants in a population-based sample of exclusive, established hookah users. Urinary biomarker data from 1753 adults in Wave 1 of the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study were used to compare geometric mean concentrations of biomarkers of exposure in exclusive, established past 30-day hookah users to never users of tobacco. Geometric mean ratios were calculated comparing hookah user groups with never users adjusting for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, past 30-day marijuana use, secondhand smoke exposure and creatinine. Past 30-day hookah users (n = 98) had 10.6 times the urinary cotinine level of never tobacco users. Compared to never tobacco users, past 30-day hookah users had 2.3 times the level of the carcinogen 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanol (NNAL), a metabolite of the tobacco-specific nitrosamine (TSNA) 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK), 1.3 times higher polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) 3-hydroxyfluorene and 1-hydroxypyrene, 1.8 times higher levels of acrylonitrile, 1.3 times higher levels of acrylamide, and 1.2 times higher levels of acrolein exposure. While some studies found iPSC-CMS can couple efficiently to the damaged heart and restore cardiac contractility, almost all found iPSC-CM transplantation is arrhythmogenic, thus hampering the use of iPSC-CMs for cardiac regeneration. Studies show that iPSC-CM cultures are highly heterogeneous containing atrial-, ventricular- and nodal-like CMs. Furthermore, they have an immature phenotype, resembling more fetal than adult CMs. There is an urgent need to overcome these issues. To this end, a novel and interesting avenue to increase CM maturation consists of modulating their metabolism. Feeding HAMA to the other disruptants commonly caused the production of aflatoxins B1 (AFB1) and G1 (AFG1). These results indicate that HAMA pigment is a novel aflatoxin precursor which is involved at a certain step after those of ver-1, ordB, and hypA genes between VA and DMST. HAMA was found to be an unstable substance to easily convert to DMST and sterigmatin. A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis showed that the molecular mass of HAMA was 374, and HAMA gave two close major peaks in the LC chromatogram in some LC conditions. We suggest that these peaks correspond to the two conformers of HAMA; one of them would be selectively bound on the substrate binding site of VerA enzyme and then converted to DMST. In addition, we found that anthropogenic microfiber abundance was significantly variable over time (sample values ranged from 0 to 195 pieces/L) and that multiple factors including the presence of wastewater treatment plants may be contributing to the abundance and distribution of anthropogenic microfibers in this urban river.The determination of trace metals and organic contaminants in environmental samples, such as water, air, soil, and sediment, is until today a challenging process for the analytical chemistry. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are novel porous nanomaterials that are composed of metal ions and an organic connector. These materials are gaining more and more attention due to their superior characteristics, such as high surface area, tunable pore size, mechanical and thermal stability, luminosity, and charge transfer ability between metals and ligands. Among the various applications of MOFs are gas storage, separation, catalysis, and drug delivery. Recently, MOFs have been successfully introduced in the field of sample preparation for analytical chemistry and they have been used for sample pretreatment of various matrices. This review focuses on the applications of MOFs as novel adsorbents for the extraction of organic compounds from environmental samples.A novel catalyst of Fe-Mn/AC was prepared and used as a heterogeneous catalyst to activate O3/Na2S2O8 for landfill leachate biochemical effluent treatment. The experimental results indicated that the highest COD (84%) and color (98%) removal was obtained at Fe-Mn/AC dosage 1.2 g/L, O3 concentration 1.2 g/L, Na2S2O8 dosage 6 g/L, initial pH 10, and reaction time 100 min. Three-dimensional and excitation emission matrix (3D-EEM) fluorescence spectrometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) of wastewater samples before and after treatment demonstrated that the leachate biochemical effluent contained a large amount of humic and fulvic acid organic compounds. After treatment with this coupling system, both the pollution level of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and the fluorescence intensity declined. The micro morphology of Fe-Mn/AC was characterized using scanning X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), electron microscope spectra (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. It can be concluded that the microscopic morphology of the catalyst is porous. The main active components are amorphous MnO2 and multivalent iron oxides. Furthermore, the Fe-Mn/AC catalyst showed great reusability; the removal efficiency of COD was only reduced from 84% to 79% at the fourth reaction. Moreover, the COD removal efficiency could recover to 81% after catalyst regeneration.This study assessed the performance of rainwater-harvesting systems installed for selected public utilities in the northern provinces of Vietnam where rainwater was collected, stored in stainless steel tanks, and treated with a complex filtration unit and Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system (full system). Results from an operation of over 5 years show that the untreated rainwater could not be used directly for drinking purposes as it was contaminated with bacteria (total coliforms TC = 200-300 CFU/100 ml, Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA = 40-160 CFU/100 ml), and turbidity = 2-4 NTU. Most of the heavy metals detected were found below the standard limits. Phenol and its derivatives were detected occasionally as higher than the standard value (1 μg/L). After treatment, all parameters met the drinking water standards. The capital costs of the rainwater systems were approximately US$200/m3 and US$180/m3 for a full system and simplified system (without complex filtration unit), respectively, while the operation and maintenance (O&M) costs were 3 cents/L and 0.8 cents/L on average for a full system and simplified one, correspondingly.Currently, in situ capping is a typical popular geoengineering method for eutrophication control. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are novel porous nanomaterials that are composed of metal ions and an organic connector. These materials are gaining more and more attention due to their superior characteristics, such as high surface area, tunable pore size, mechanical and thermal stability, luminosity, and charge transfer ability between metals and ligands. Among the various applications of MOFs are gas storage, separation, catalysis, and drug delivery. Recently, MOFs have been successfully introduced in the field of sample preparation for analytical chemistry and they have been used for sample pretreatment of various matrices. This review focuses on the applications of MOFs as novel adsorbents for the extraction of organic compounds from environmental samples.A novel catalyst of Fe-Mn/AC was prepared and used as a heterogeneous catalyst to activate O3/Na2S2O8 for landfill leachate biochemical effluent treatment. The experimental results indicated that the highest COD (84%) and color (98%) removal was obtained at Fe-Mn/AC dosage 1.2 g/L, O3 concentration 1.2 g/L, Na2S2O8 dosage 6 g/L, initial pH 10, and reaction time 100 min. Three-dimensional and excitation emission matrix (3D-EEM) fluorescence spectrometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) of wastewater samples before and after treatment demonstrated that the leachate biochemical effluent contained a large amount of humic and fulvic acid organic compounds. After treatment with this coupling system, both the pollution level of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and the fluorescence intensity declined. The micro morphology of Fe-Mn/AC was characterized using scanning X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), electron microscope spectra (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. It can be concluded that the microscopic morphology of the catalyst is porous. The main active components are amorphous MnO2 and multivalent iron oxides. Furthermore, the Fe-Mn/AC catalyst showed great reusability; the removal efficiency of COD was only reduced from 84% to 79% at the fourth reaction. Moreover, the COD removal efficiency could recover to 81% after catalyst regeneration.This study assessed the performance of rainwater-harvesting systems installed for selected public utilities in the northern provinces of Vietnam where rainwater was collected, stored in stainless steel tanks, and treated with a complex filtration unit and Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system (full system). Results from an operation of over 5 years show that the untreated rainwater could not be used directly for drinking purposes as it was contaminated with bacteria (total coliforms TC = 200-300 CFU/100 ml, Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA = 40-160 CFU/100 ml), and turbidity = 2-4 NTU. Most of the heavy metals detected were found below the standard limits. Phenol and its derivatives were detected occasionally as higher than the standard value (1 μg/L). After treatment, all parameters met the drinking water standards. The capital costs of the rainwater systems were approximately US$200/m3 and US$180/m3 for a full system and simplified system (without complex filtration unit), respectively, while the operation and maintenance (O&M) costs were 3 cents/L and 0.8 cents/L on average for a full system and simplified one, correspondingly.Currently, in situ capping is a typical popular geoengineering method for eutrophication control. It is crucial to better understand the effect of microenvironment change due to capping, such as amended calcium peroxide material (ACPM) and Phoslock®, on phosphorus (P) adsorption and immobilization under the addition of external P. The microenvironment in sediment was presented by the concentration of O2, NH4+, and Fe2+ and microbial activity. The P removal and immobilization were also analyzed. In line with the development of cancer screening, the use of two diagnostic tools for sarcopenia (BIA and DXA) should be implemented.Tempeh is traditionally produced by fermenting soybean with the fungus Rhizopus oligosporus found in banana leafs. We wanted to investigate if Taiwan's flavorful red bean could be used as a healthy substitute for soybeans in tempeh. One bioactive component of tempeh is γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA). We measured GABA content and shelf-life-related antimicrobial activity in red-bean tempeh made with four strains of Rhizopus, one purchased strain of Rhizopus, and an experimental co-cultured group (Rhizopus and Lactobacillus rhamnosus BCRC16000) as well as cortisol in red-bean-tempeh-treated zebrafish. GABA was highest in the co-culture group (19.028 ± 1.831 g kg-1), followed by screened Strain 1, the purchased strain, and screened Strain 4. All strains had antibacterial activity on S. aureus and B. cereus. The extract significantly reduced cortisol in zebrafish. However, Strain 1, with less GABA than some of the other strains, had the best effect on cortisol level, suggesting that other components in red-bean tempeh may also affect stress-related cortisol. We found the benefits of red-bean tempeh to be similar to those reported for soybean-produced tempeh, suggesting that it could be produced as an alternative product. Considering the Taiwanese appreciation of the red-bean flavor, it might find a welcoming market.Tannins have always been the subject of great interest for their countless properties, first of all their ability to produce functional coatings on a variety of materials. We report herein a comparative evaluation of the antioxidant properties of wood tannin-based coated substrates. In particular, nylon membrane filters were functionalized with chestnut (hydrolyzable) or quebracho (condensed) tannins by dip coating under different conditions. The efficiency of functionalization was evaluated by the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) assays, which invariably highlighted the superior ability of condensed tannins to induce the formation of a functional and robust coating. The results of the antioxidant assays revealed also the deleterious effects of aerial or enzymatic oxidation conditions on substrate functionalization, being more significant in the case of hydrolyzable tannins. On the other hand, the use of oxidizing conditions allowed to obtain more stable coatings, still exhibiting good antioxidant properties, in the case of condensed tannins. The presence of iron ions did not lead to a significant improvement of the coating efficiency for either tannins. Surprisingly, increasing the concentration of the reducing agent affects only iron release from native ferritin. Magnetoferritin cores with different loading factors seem to be insensitive to different concentrations of vitamins. An alternative hypothesis of human tissue magnetite mineralization and the process of iron-induced pathology is proposed. In the forced swimming test, young adult MS **** showed no effect on immobility time, but middle-aged MS **** significantly increased immobility time. Young adult and middle-aged MS **** showed decreased GR expression. Their two ages showed decreased histone acetylation with increased histone deacetylases (HDAC5) levels, decreased permissive methylation, and increased repressive methylation at the GR exon 17 promoter.

The covid-19 pandemic led to rapid and large-scale government intervention in economies and societies. A common policy response to covid-19 outbreaks has been the lockdown or quarantine. Designed to slow the spread of the disease, lockdowns have unintended consequences for the environment. This article examines the impact of Colombia's lockdown on forest fires, motivated by satellite data showing a particularly large upsurge of fires at around the time of lockdown implementation. We find that Colombia's lockdown is associated with an increase in forest fires compared to three different counterfactuals, constructed to simulate the expected number of fires in the absence of the lockdown. To varying degrees across Colombia's regions, the presence of armed groups is correlated with this fire upsurge. Mechanisms through which the lockdown might influence fire rates are discussed, including the mobilisation of armed groups and the reduction in the monitoring capacity of state and conservation organisations during the covid-19 outbreak. Given the fast-developing situation in Colombia, we conclude with some ideas for further research.We review the economic channels by which the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent policy responses may affect wildlife and biodiversity. In the absence of a vaccine, non-clinical preventative measures have been implemented as the principal means of limiting deaths. However, these measures have caused unprecedented disruption to daily lives and economic activity. Given this developing crisis, the potential for a second wave of infections and the near certainty of future pandemics, lessons need to be rapidly gleaned from the available data. We address the challenges of cross-country comparisons by allowing for differences in reporting and variation in underlying socio-economic conditions between countries. Our analyses show that, to date, differences in policy interventions have out-weighed socio-economic variation in explaining the range of death rates observed in the data. Our epidemiological models show that across 8 countries a further week long delay in imposing lockdown would likely have cost more than half a million lives. Furthermore, those countries which acted more promptly saved substantially more lives than those that delayed. Linking decisions over the timing of lockdown and consequent deaths to economic data, we reveal the costs that national governments were implicitly prepared to pay to protect their citizens as reflected in the economic activity foregone to save lives. These 'price of life' estimates vary enormously between countries, ranging from as low as around $100,000 (e.g. the UK, US and Italy) to in excess of $1million (e.g. Denmark, Germany, New Zealand and Korea). The lowest estimates are further reduced once we correct for under-reporting of Covid-19 deaths.The COVID-19 outbreak resulted in unprecedented restrictions on citizen's freedom of movement as governments moved to institute lockdowns designed to reduce the spread of the virus. While most out-of-home leisure activities were prohibited, in England the lockdown rules allowed for restricted use of outdoor greenspace for the purposes of exercise and recreation. In this paper, we use data recorded by Google from location-enabled mobile devices coupled with a detailed recreation demand model to explore the welfare impacts of those constraints on leisure activities. Our analyses reveals evidence of large-scale substitution of leisure time towards recreation in available greenspaces. Indeed, despite the restrictions the economic value of greenspace to the citizens of England fell by only £150 million over lockdown. Examining the outcomes of counterfactual policies we find that the imposition of stricter lockdown rules would have reduced welfare from greenspace by £1.14 billion. In contrast, more relaxed lockdown rules would have delivered an aggregate increase in the economic value of greenspace equal to £1.47 billion.International trade in wildlife is one contributing factor to zoonotic disease risk. Using descriptive statistics, this paper shows that in the last decades, the volume and pattern of internationally traded wildlife has changed considerably and, with it, the zoonotic pathogens that are traded. In an econometric analysis, we give evidence that an international environmental trade agreement could be used to limit the spread of zoonotic pathogens and disease. More specifically, combining zoonotic disease data with wildlife trade data from the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wildlife and Fauna (CITES), we show that making trade requirements more stringent leads to a decrease in the number of animals traded and, incidentally, also the number of zoonotic diseases that are traded. Our results contribute to the discussion of policy measures that manage the spread of zoonotic diseases.Wild animals play an integral and complex role in the economies and ecologies of many countries across the globe, including those of West and Central Africa, the focus of this policy perspective. The trade in wild meat, and its role in diets, have been brought into focus as a consequence of discussions over the origins of COVID-19. As a result, there have been calls for the closure of China's "wet markets"; greater scrutiny of the wildlife trade in general; and a spotlight has been placed on the potential risks posed by growing human populations and shrinking natural habitats for animal to human transmission of zoonotic diseases. However, to date there has been little attention given to what the consequences of the COVID-19 economic shock may be for the wildlife trade; the people who rely on it for their livelihoods; and the wildlife that is exploited. In this policy perspective, we argue that the links between the COVID-19 pandemic, rural livelihoods and wildlife are likely to be more complex, more nuanced, and more far-reaching, than is represented in the literature to date.

Linking decisions over the timing of lockdown and consequent deaths to economic data, we reveal the costs that national governments were implicitly prepared to pay to protect their citizens as reflected in the economic activity foregone to save lives. These 'price of life' estimates vary enormously between countries, ranging from as low as around $100,000 (e.g. the UK, US and Italy) to in excess of $1million (e.g. Denmark, Germany, New Zealand and Korea). The lowest estimates are further reduced once we correct for under-reporting of Covid-19 deaths.The COVID-19 outbreak resulted in unprecedented restrictions on citizen's freedom of movement as governments moved to institute lockdowns designed to reduce the spread of the virus. While most out-of-home leisure activities were prohibited, in England the lockdown rules allowed for restricted use of outdoor greenspace for the purposes of exercise and recreation. In this paper, we use data recorded by Google from location-enabled mobile devices coupled with a detailed recreation demand model to explore the welfare impacts of those constraints on leisure activities. Our analyses reveals evidence of large-scale substitution of leisure time towards recreation in available greenspaces. Indeed, despite the restrictions the economic value of greenspace to the citizens of England fell by only £150 million over lockdown. Examining the outcomes of counterfactual policies we find that the imposition of stricter lockdown rules would have reduced welfare from greenspace by £1.14 billion. In contrast, more relaxed lockdown rules would have delivered an aggregate increase in the economic value of greenspace equal to £1.47 billion.International trade in wildlife is one contributing factor to zoonotic disease risk. Using descriptive statistics, this paper shows that in the last decades, the volume and pattern of internationally traded wildlife has changed considerably and, with it, the zoonotic pathogens that are traded. In an econometric analysis, we give evidence that an international environmental trade agreement could be used to limit the spread of zoonotic pathogens and disease. More specifically, combining zoonotic disease data with wildlife trade data from the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wildlife and Fauna (CITES), we show that making trade requirements more stringent leads to a decrease in the number of animals traded and, incidentally, also the number of zoonotic diseases that are traded. Our results contribute to the discussion of policy measures that manage the spread of zoonotic diseases.Wild animals play an integral and complex role in the economies and ecologies of many countries across the globe, including those of West and Central Africa, the focus of this policy perspective. To avoid a surge of demand on the healthcare system due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we must reduce transmission to individuals with chronic conditions who are at risk of severe illness with COVID-19. We aimed at understanding the perceptions, context and attitudes of individuals with chronic conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic to clarify their potential risk of infection.
A cross-sectional survey was nested in ComPaRe, an e-cohort of adults with chronic conditions, in France. It assessed participants' perception of their risk of severe illness with COVID-19; their context (i.e., work, household, contacts with external people); and their attitudes in situations involving frequent or occasional contacts with symptomatic or asymptomatic people. Data were collected from March 23 to April 2, 2020, during the lockdown in France. Analyses were weighted to represent the demographic characteristics of French patients with chronic conditions. The subgroup of participants at high risk according to the recommendations of the French High Council for Public Health was examined.
Among the 7169 recruited participants, 63% patients felt at risk because of severe illness. About one quarter (23.7%) were at risk of infection because they worked outside home, had a household member working outside home or had regular visits from external contacts. Less than 20% participants refused contact with symptomatic people and <20% used masks when in contact with asymptomatic people. Among patients considered at high risk according to the recommendations of the French High Council for Public Health, 20% did not feel at risk, which led to incautious attitudes.

An online questionnaire survey of passengers and an in-depth interview with aircrews.
Two randomly selected repatriation flights operated by Thai Airways International using Boeing 777 aircraft (TG476 from Sydney and TG492 from Auckland to Bangkok).
377 Thai passengers and 35 aircrews.
The mean age of passengers was 28.14 (95%CI 26.72 to 29.55) years old; 57.03% were female. TG492 passengers were mostly students and significantly younger than that of TG476 (p<0.0001) with comparable flying experience (p = 0.1192). The average body temperature was 36.52 (95%CI 36.48 to 36.55) degrees Celsius. Passengers estimated average physical distances of 1.59 (95%CI 1.48 to 1.70), 1.41 (95%CI 1.29 to 1.53), and 1.26 (95%CI 1.12 to 1.41) meters at check-in, boarding, and in-flight, respectively. Passengers were checked for body temperature during the flight 1.97 (95%CI 1.77 to 2.18) times on average which is significantly more frequent in longer than shorter flight (p<0.0001). Passengers moved around or went to the toilet during the flight 2.00 (95%CI 1.63 to 2.37) and 2.08 (95%CI 1.73 to 2.43) times which are significantly more frequent in longer than shorter flight (p = 0.0186 and 0.0049, respectively). The aircrews were satisfied with the protocol and provided several practical suggestions.

However, the research to date on this topic is mixed, with studies finding both positive and neutral associations between phones and yields. In this paper we examine perceptions about the impacts of mobile phones on agricultural productivity, and the relationships between mobile phone use and agricultural yield. We do so by fitting multilevel statistical models to data from farmer-phone owners (n = 179) in 4 rural communities in Tanzania, controlling for site and demographic factors. As many diverse medications have recently been shown to change composition of the gut microbiome, we used Illumina 16S rRNA gene sequencing to determine the effects of ACV and IVIG on the gut bacterial community. We found that HSV, ACV and IVIG can all independently disrupt the gut bacterial community in a sex biased manner when given to uninfected C57BL/6 ****. Treatment of HSV infected **** with ACV or IVIG alone or together revealed complex interactions between these drugs and infection that caused pronounced sex biased dysbiosis. ACV reduced Bacteroidetes levels in male but not female ****, while levels of the Anti-inflammatory Clostridia (AIC) were reduced in female but not male ****, which is significant as these taxa are associated with protection against the development of graft versus host disease (GVHD) in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients.

This article will provide an overview of the principles and modes of action of fluorides in oral care products, followed by a brief outline of the history and current situation regarding salt fluoridation in Switzerland. Recommendations for the use of fluoridated oral care products, current research results on the use of fluoride-containing dental care products and controversies related to fluorides are presented. Finally, the changes in fluoride concentration for children’s toothpastes in Europe and the corresponding implementation in Switzerland as well as changes regarding the use of fluoride in school dentistry are discussed.The diverse clinicopathological spectrum of pulmonary aspergillosis is a consequence of varying levels of invasiveness of this ubiquitous fungus, which largely depends on the host immune response and pre-existing lung disease. The clinical presentation of pulmonary aspergillosis spans a wide spectrum from hypersensitivity to life threatening angio-invasive and disseminated disease. We report the case of a young immunocompetent male with no underlying lung disease, who presented with an incidentally detected 'infective mass' lesion in the lung associated with minimal respiratory symptoms. The diagnostic challenges posed by the unusual clinical, radiological and histological picture as well as the therapeutic dilemmas faced are discussed in this report.

To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the scholarly output of RCN fellows, thereby documenting their coverage, connectivity and contribution to the indexed professional literature.
This study used a mixed-methods approach, analysing publicly available data to identify and report thematic and quantitative measures of the scholarship of fellows through the application of bibliometric analysis.
In total, 193 fellowships were awarded between the inception of the scheme in 1976 and 2019. Collectively, fellows have 9,336 publications indexed in Scopus and have accrued 131,408 citations resulting from 116,961 citing articles. Overall, 166 fellows produced one or more indexed articles. The 166 fellows engaged 9,908 co-authors in the production of this work fromd science of the profession and the improvement of healthcare.This article is the sixth in a series on the biological basis of child health. It provides an overview of the development of the skeletal system before and after birth, and outlines the potential congenital anomalies that may occur. The article explains the structure and function of the bones before describing the role of the joints, tendons and ligaments. It also outlines the presentation and management of some of the common orthopaedic conditions seen in infants and children, including fractures, osteogenesis imperfecta, scoliosis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, developmental dysplasia of the hip and achondroplasia.The research and development progress and all relevant technical requirements about new Chinese medicines since the release of Provisions for Drug Registration(2007 Version) were reviewed and summarized in this paper. To promote the healthy deve-lopment of regulatory agencies and the traditional Chinese medicine industry, the author conducted a comprehensive analysis on the advantages and disadvantages of the current technical requirements for new Chinese medicines and some typical cases in technical review, and put forward some constructive suggestions on the philosophies of traditional Chinese medicine review and the resolution of some technical disputes.In this paper, we reviewed the history of the registration and classification changes of traditional Chinese medicines(TCM) since the establishment of China's drug regulatory agency, and put forward relevant suggestions. Although China's drug regulatory agency has gone through 22 years, the whole regulatory system was gradually built on the basis of the generic pharmaceutical industry at that time and through continuous exploration and summary of simply experience from foreign regulatory agencies. To a certain extent, the supervision of TCM drugs was also affected by some immature supervision ideas during this period. Based on the newly issued Drug Administration Law and Provisions for Drug Registration, the author puts forward some personal thoughts on the classifications of TCM drug registration. It is hoped that experts in the industry and regulatory agencies will work together to explore and improve the relevant system of TCM registration administration.Citri Sarcodactylis Fructus is a both medicinal and edible species specified by the China Ministry of Health, with a long history in China. The results indicated that there were many bynames of Citri Sarcodactylis Fructus. Before the Yuan Dynasty, there was a mixed use of Citri Sarcodactylis Fructus and Citri Fructus, which were not distinguished from each other in terms of nature and taste until the Yuan dynasty.
