In the present study, we used three datasets to analyze to which extent hierarchical clustering and network analysis allowed to eliminate redundant OIUs obtained through biological and technical sample variation and to describe the diversity within a set of spectra obtained from 134 unknown soil isolates. Restricting selection to cows with previous mastitis or hoof treatment achieved the highest increase in PPV from 0.07 to 0.20 and 0.15, respectively. Moreover, in the last decade, a significant number of papers has been published highlighting a correlation between TE activity and exposition to environmental stresses and dietary factors. In this review we present an overview of the impact of TEs in vertebrate genomes, report the silencing mechanisms adopted by host genomes to regulate TE activity, and finally we explore the effects of environmental and dietary factor exposures on TE activity in mammals, which is the most studied group among vertebrates. The studies here reported evidence that several factors can induce changes in the epigenetic status of TEs and silencing mechanisms leading to their activation with consequent effects on the host genome.

Despite the best efforts of intensive care units (ICUs) professionals, the extubation failure rates in mechanically ventilated patients remain in the range of 5%-30%. Extubation failure is associated with increased risk of death and longer ICU stay. This study aimed to identify respiratory and non-respiratory parameters predictive of extubation outcome, and to use these predictors to develop and validate an "Extubation Predictive Score (ExPreS)" that could be used to predict likelihood of extubation success in patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). Derivation cohort was composed by patients aged ≥18 years admitted to the ICU and receiving IMV through an endotracheal tube for >24 hours. The weaning process followed the established ICU protocol. Clinical signs and ventilator parameters of patients were recorded during IMV, in the end phase of weaning in pressure support ventilation (PSV) mode, with inspiratory pressure of 7 cm H2O over the PEEP (positive end expiratory pressure). Patients with heart failure (HF) with recovered ejection fraction (HFrecEF) are a recently identified cohort that are phenotypically and biologically different from HFrEF and HFpEF patients. Whether there are unique phenotypes among HFrecEF patients is not known.
We studied all patients at a large medical center, who had an improvement in LVEF from ≤ 35% to ≥ 50% (LVrecEF) between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2013. We identified a set of 11 clinical variables and then performed unsupervised clustering analyses to identify unique clinical phenotypes among patients with LVrecEF, followed by a Kaplan-Meier analysis to identify differences in survival and the proportion of LVrecEF patients who maintained an LVEF ≥ 50% during the study period.
We identified 889 patients with LVrecEF who clustered into 7 unique phenotypes ranging in size from 37 to 420 patients. Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated significant differences in mortality across clusters (logrank p<0.0001), with survival ranging from 14% to 87% at 1000 days, as well as significant differences in the proportion of LVrecEF patients who maintained an LVEF ≥ 50%.

Total of 318 participants with 106 cases and 212 controls were included OSCC cases were from Seoul National University Dental Hospital and age, sex, and smoking matched controls were from Yangpyeong cohort. Unstimulated saliva was collected to determine MMP-9 and 8-OHdG using sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Describe the incidence/prevalence, clinical characteristics, and outcomes of ILD patients within the Veteran's Administration Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN6).
A multi-center retrospective cohort study was performed of veterans receiving hospital or outpatient ILD care from January 1, 2008 to December 31st, 2015 in six VISN6 facilities. Patients were identified by at least one visit encounter with a 515, 516, or other ILD ICD-9 code. Demographic and clinical characteristics were summarized using median, 25th and 75th percentile for continuous variables and count/percentage for categorical variables. Characteristics and incidence/prevalence rates were summarized, and stratified by ILD ICD-9 code. Kaplan Meier curves were generated to define overall survival.
3293 subjects met the inclusion criteria. 879 subjects (26%) had no evidence of ILD following manual medical record review. Overall estimated prevalence in verified ILD subjects was 256 per 100,000 people with a mean incidence across the years of 70 per 100,000 person-years (0.07%). The prevalence and mean incidence when focusing on people with an ILD diagnostic code who had a HRCT scan or a bronchoscopic or surgical lung biopsy was 237 per 100,000 people (0.237%) and 63 per 100,000 person-years respectively (0.063%). The median survival was 76.9 months for 515 codes, 103.4 months for 516 codes, and 83.6 months for 516.31.

Evidence on a patient-centered assessment of outcome among patients with stroke is limited in Ethiopia. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the level of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and associated factors in Ethiopia's tertiary level hospitals.
A cross-sectional study was conducted at three tertiary level hospitals (Felege Hiwot comprehensive specialized hospital, University of Gondar comprehensive specialized hospital, and Dessie referral hospital) from April 1 to May 31, 2019. A total of 180 patients with stroke were included, and a consecutive sampling method was employed to recruit the participants. **** 36-Item Health Survey was used to measure the HRQOL. A generalized linear model with a gamma distribution and log-link function was used to investigate potential predictors, and variables with a P value of <0.05 were considered statistically significant.

Enlargement of the sinus of Valsalva (SOV) is common in patients with bicuspid aortic valves (BAV), and management at the time of aortic valve replacement (AVR) and concomitant ascending aorta replacement/repair is controversial.
Between January 2000 and July 2017, 400 patients with BAV underwent AVR and concomitant ascending aorta repair (79%, graft replacement; 21%, aortoplasty). To assess the impact of the initial SOV dimension on future dilatation and outcomes, patients were stratified into two groups SOV<40mm (n=209) and SOV≥40mm (n=191).
Patients with SOV≥40 mm were older, and more often male. At a median follow-up of 8.1 years (IQR 7.4-9.1), 6 patients underwent reoperations on the ascending or sinus portion of the aorta due to aneurysmal dilatation; enlargement of the sinus was the primary indication for operation in one patient. Future research is recommended to better understand young adults' psychological outcomes, experiences, and service needs following disasters.A body of psychological and social scientific evidence suggests that the experience of technological disaster or long-term exposure to environmental contamination can be psychologically stressful. Addressing the psychosocial impact in communities living with chronic contamination is therefore a vital part of improving their resilience. Guided by a synthetic theoretical model of the unique psychosocial impact of chronic environmental contamination (in contrast to natural and technological disasters, and background pollution), we undertook a narrative review to assess the current research on this important social problem. Relevant qualitative peer-reviewed studies and grey literature were examined to derive a model identifying likely factors increasing risk for distress in chronic contamination experience and actions that may be taken by public health professionals and local leaders to enhance community resilience and take health-protective actions. Based on our initial theoretical model and the literature reviewed, we emphasize the importance of considering both the material and social dimensions of chronic environmental contamination experience. For instance, our review of the qualitative literature suggests that individuals who attribute material health impacts to contamination, and who have the social experience of their concerns being delegitimized by responsible institutions, are most at risk for psychological stress. Psychological stress in the context of chronic contamination is an important potential public health burden and a key area for additional research.Guided by stress proliferation and adaptation perspectives, this study investigates competing hypotheses for the relationship between time served in prison and mental health symptoms. Drawing on data from the Survey of Inmates in State Correctional Facilities in 2004 (N = 12,118), our findings suggest that time served is correlated with mental health symptoms, but that the association differs across race and sex. White males exhibit fewer mental health symptoms at longer exposures to prison, while black males and black females exhibit more symptoms. A total of 50 metabolites, including amino acids, organic osmolytes, nucleotides, energy storage compounds, and obvious tissue-specific metabolites induced by inking stress, were identified in S. pharaonis tissues. Exposure to inking stress had different effects on the levels of the studied metabolites, for example, the levels of isoleucine, trimethylamine-N-oxide, and betaine increased, but those of arginine and ATP decreased in the liver; inosine and lactate were accumulated whereas glutamate and choline were depleted in the gill; the levels of lactate and isoleucine were elevated but those of arginine and glycogen were depleted in the muscle tissue. Furthermore, the corresponding metabolic pathways of the characteristic metabolites indicated major changes in the functions of these metabolites. Histological changes in the studied tissues revealed liver lobule damage immediately after inking, with the presence of disordered epithelial cells and partial cell necrosis in the gill. Our results demonstrated that a combination of metabolomics and histological analyses could provide molecular-level insights for elucidating the defense response of cuttlefish against predators.

The objective was to determine the incidence of, and factors associated with contralateral neck failure (CNF) in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC).
Consecutive patients with OTSCC between 2007 and 2016 were included. The predefined policy of the contralateral neck included neck dissection (ND) where the primary tumor extended/crossed midline or the contralateral neck was involved; and elective nodal irradiation (ENI) where the primary tumor was ≤1 cm from midline/2cm from tip.
This study included 258 patients. ND was ipsilateral 169 (66%) and bilateral 33 (13%). https://www.selleckchem.com/products/iacs-010759-iacs-10759.html Fifty-five patients (21%) received ENI to the undissected contralateral neck. CNF occurred in 19 patients (7%) and was similar by treatment received. Sustainability has three key attributes acceptability, affordability and adaptability. Having established the acceptability and affordability of the community-based service, this paper focussed on adaptability, as the remaining issue affecting long-term sustainability. The aim of this study was to identify components of the palliative and EOL service which require adaptability to ensure long-term sustainability for the service. A mixed methods approach was used for this study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with family members. Semi-structured focus groups and interviews were held with health professionals. Patient data were included to describe frequency and nature of contacts. The results were analysed using descriptive analysis. The setting was a rural town in Victoria, Australia. Nine family members were interviewed, and 16 health professionals were interviewed or took part in a focus group. Patient data included 121 participants. Four themes were identified the uniqueness of the patient, workforce issues, collaboration between services and symptom and pain management. All themes indicated that the palliative and EOL service faces challenges which may threaten the sustainability of the service and require adaptability. Families regard palliative and EOL care as special and valued, and appreciate the endeavour, care and support taken to assist their loved one to die with dignity regardless of the location and setting. With sufficient attention paid to the adaptability of the service, community palliative and EOL care service can become more sustainable, thus offering choice and dignity for people approaching the end of life.Cleft lip and cleft alveolus are caused by incomplete fusion of the frontonasal and maxillary prominences. Analytical expressions are provided for the various recoupling curves stemming from different techniques, and a coherent nomenclature for these various techniques is suggested. Treatment of some special cases such as multiple spin effects and spins with close Larmor frequencies is also discussed. The most advanced methods can recouple spins with quadrupolar frequencies up to tens of megahertz and beyond, expanding the distance measurement capabilities of solid-state NMR to an increasingly growing number of applications and nuclear spin systems.

Consecutive patients with OTSCC between 2007 and 2016 were included. The predefined policy of the contralateral neck included neck dissection (ND) where the primary tumor extended/crossed midline or the contralateral neck was involved; and elective nodal irradiation (ENI) where the primary tumor was ≤1 cm from midline/2cm from tip. Sustainability has three key attributes acceptability, affordability and adaptability. Having established the acceptability and affordability of the community-based service, this paper focussed on adaptability, as the remaining issue affecting long-term sustainability. The aim of this study was to identify components of the palliative and EOL service which require adaptability to ensure long-term sustainability for the service. A mixed methods approach was used for this study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with family members. Semi-structured focus groups and interviews were held with health professionals. Patient data were included to describe frequency and nature of contacts. The results were analysed using descriptive analysis. The setting was a rural town in Victoria, Australia. Nine family members were interviewed, and 16 health professionals were interviewed or took part in a focus group. Patient data included 121 participants. Four themes were identified the uniqueness of the patient, workforce issues, collaboration between services and symptom and pain management. All themes indicated that the palliative and EOL service faces challenges which may threaten the sustainability of the service and require adaptability. Families regard palliative and EOL care as special and valued, and appreciate the endeavour, care and support taken to assist their loved one to die with dignity regardless of the location and setting. With sufficient attention paid to the adaptability of the service, community palliative and EOL care service can become more sustainable, thus offering choice and dignity for people approaching the end of life.Cleft lip and cleft alveolus are caused by incomplete fusion of the frontonasal and maxillary prominences. Among heavy metals, essential metal elements explained more rates of bacterial variation than toxic metals at moderate contaminant levels. Together, these results profiled the coupling effect of urbanization and mineral resource utilization on shaping sediment bacterial communities in urban rivers.We investigated the abundance of microplastics in freshwater, treated water, and household tap water from the drinking water supply chain in Changsha, China. En bloc spondylectomy is the gold standard for surgical resection of sacral chordomas (CHO), but the effect of extent of resection on recurrence and survival in patients with CHO of the cervical spine remains elusive.
MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane were systematically reviewed. Patients with cervical CHO treated at three tertiary-care academic institutions were reviewed for inclusion. We performed an individual participant data meta-analysis to assess the overall survival (OS) and progression free survival (PFS) after en bloc-gross total resection (GTR) and intralesional-GTR compared to subtotal resection (STR). We then performed an intention-to-treat analysis including all patients with attempted en bloc resection in the en bloc group, regardless of the surgical margins.
There was a total of 13 series including 161 patients with cervical CHO, including our current series of 22 patients. GTR (en bloc-GTR + intralesional-GTR) was associated with a significant decrease in the risk of local progressrvical CHO. We found that both en bloc-GTR and intralesional-GTR resulted in improved local tumor control when compared to STR.
Molecular mechanisms of uveal melanoma development in association with high pigmentation are unclear. Tyrosinase Related Protein (TYRP1) is not only one of the important melanogenesis marker that contributes to melanin synthesis, but can also prevents the melanocyte death. The induction of melanogenesis leads to induction of HIF-1α which can affect the behavior of melanoma cells and its surrounding environment. The aim of our study was to determine the expression of TYRP1 and HIF-1α at the protein and RNA level and determine its prognostic significance.
In the present study, the expression of TYRP1 and HIF-1α was investigated on 61 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded choroidal melanoma samples by immunohistochemistry. Fresh 50 samples were validated by real-time PCR. Results were correlated with clinicopathological parameters and Kaplan-Meier was performed to determine the prognostic significance.

This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the 10-item and 2-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the agreement between these two versions, and the measurement invariance of the CD-RISC-10 across genders in Chinese infertile couples.
A total of 170 infertile couples were enrolled from an infertility outpatient clinic between September 2019 and January 2020. The CD-RISC scores were tested for floor and ceiling effects. Reliability was evaluated by calculating Cronbach's α. Convergent and divergent validity were assessed by bivariate correlations between resilience and infertility-related stress, depression, anxiety, and two divergent variables. Agreement between the two versions was evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman analysis. A multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to assess the measurement equivalence of CD-RISC-10 across genders.
No floor or ceiling effects were observed. Internal consistencies of CD-RISC-10 and CD-RISC-2 were 0.91 and 0.63, respectively. The CFA analysis indicated an excellent model fit for a one-factor structure of CD-RISC-10 (TLI > 0.950, CFI > 0.950, RMSEA < 0.060). Both scales displayed good convergent and divergent validity, and the agreement between them was significant with an ICC of 0.80 (95% CI ranging from 0.76 to 0.84). Measurement invariance across genders was supported by multigroup CFA, and a higher level of resilience was found in men than in women.

EEM-PARAFAC analysis illustrated that the AOM compositions were subsequently decomposed by the ROS. As a result, the formation potentials of the C-DBPs and N-DBPs were significantly inhibited, due to the effectively removal of AOM and Anatoxin-a. Adapting treatment process operations accordingly is challenging due to a lack of analytical capacity for characterization and monitoring at many treatment plants. Cost-efficient and simple field measurements such as photographs and probe readings could be proxies for process control parameters that normally require laboratory analysis. To investigate this, we evaluated questionnaire data, expert assessments, and simple analytical measurements for fecal sludge collected from 421 onsite containments. This data served as inputs to models of varying complexity. Random forest and linear regression models were able to predict physical-chemical characteristics including total solids (TS) and ammonium (NH4+-N) concentrations, and solid-liquid separation performance including settling efficiency and filtration time (R2 from 0.51-0.66) based on image analysis of photographs (sludge color, supernatant color, and texture) and probe readings (conductivity (EC) and pH). Supernatant color was the best predictor of settling efficiency and filtration time, EC was the best predictor of NH4+-N, and texture was the best predictor of TS. Predictive models have the potential to be applied for real-time monitoring and process control if a database of measurements is developed and models are validated in other cities. Accordingly, in this study, we predicted ARGs occurrence that are primarily found on the coast after rainfall using a conventional long short-term memory (LSTM), LSTM-convolutional neural network (CNN) hybrid model, and input attention (IA)-LSTM. To develop the models, 10 categories of environmental data collected at 30-min intervals and concentration data of 4 types of major ARGs (i.e., aac(6'-Ib-cr), blaTEM, sul1, and tetX) obtained at the Gwangalli Beach in South Korea, between 2018 and 2019 were used. When individually predicting ARGs occurrence, the conventional LSTM and IA-LSTM exhibited poor R2 values during training and testing. In contrast, the LSTM-CNN exhibited a 2-6-times improvement in accuracy over those of the conventional LSTM and IA-LSTM. However, when predicting all ARGs occurrence simultaneously, the IA-LSTM model exhibited a superior performance overall compared to that of LSTM-CNN. Additionally, the influence of environmental variables on prediction was investigated using the IA-LSTM model, and the ranges of input variables that affect each ARG were identified. Consequently, this study demonstrated the possibility of predicting the occurrence and distribution of major ARGs at the beach based on various environmental variables, and the results are expected to contribute to management of ARG occurrence at a recreational beach.A novel magnetic resonance measurement (MRM) protocol for non-invasive monitoring of fouling in spiral wound reverse osmosis (SWRO) membrane modules is demonstrated. Sodium alginate was used to progressively foul a commercial SWRO membrane at industrially relevant operating conditions in a circulating flow loop. The MRM protocol showcased the following (i) earlier, more sensitive detection and quantification of fouling in the membrane module compared to feed-channel pressure drop. This was achieved using appropriate detection of the total nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal. (ii) 2D cross-sectional imaging of the location of the accumulated foulant material; this was preferentially located adjacent to the membrane spacer sheet nodes, which was subsequently confirmed by a module autopsy. This image contrast, which could also readily differentiate the membrane, feed spacer and permeate spacer regions, was realised based on differences in the NMR relaxation parameter, T2,eff. Random forest and linear regression models were able to predict physical-chemical characteristics including total solids (TS) and ammonium (NH4+-N) concentrations, and solid-liquid separation performance including settling efficiency and filtration time (R2 from 0.51-0.66) based on image analysis of photographs (sludge color, supernatant color, and texture) and probe readings (conductivity (EC) and pH). Although ARG monitoring and beach guidelines are necessary, substantial efforts are required for ARG sampling and analysis. Accordingly, in this study, we predicted ARGs occurrence that are primarily found on the coast after rainfall using a conventional long short-term memory (LSTM), LSTM-convolutional neural network (CNN) hybrid model, and input attention (IA)-LSTM. To develop the models, 10 categories of environmental data collected at 30-min intervals and concentration data of 4 types of major ARGs (i.e., aac(6'-Ib-cr), blaTEM, sul1, and tetX) obtained at the Gwangalli Beach in South Korea, between 2018 and 2019 were used. When individually predicting ARGs occurrence, the conventional LSTM and IA-LSTM exhibited poor R2 values during training and testing. In contrast, the LSTM-CNN exhibited a 2-6-times improvement in accuracy over those of the conventional LSTM and IA-LSTM. However, when predicting all ARGs occurrence simultaneously, the IA-LSTM model exhibited a superior performance overall compared to that of LSTM-CNN. Additionally, the influence of environmental variables on prediction was investigated using the IA-LSTM model, and the ranges of input variables that affect each ARG were identified. Web-based resources for tobacco use prevention and control provide valuable tools for cancer education. This study sought to (a) identify existing websites that archive prevention and cessation media content and (b) characterize the content and features of those websites. We used a comprehensive search strategy to identify web-based resources. Websites were included if (1) the content was focused on tobacco; (2) a primary purpose of the website was to house a national or international historical archive of anti- or pro-tobacco media or communication content; and (3) the website was designed for researchers or practitioners. Of the 55 websites initially identified, N = 9 met criteria. All websites contained anti-tobacco media content (100%), although 56% also contained pro-tobacco content. Most websites focused on multiple tobacco products (89%), while 11% focused solely on cigarettes. The most common media content in the archives were print ads (67%), warning labels (56%), and video ads (33%). Most archives contained a search function or content filters (67%). While most websites provided free media content with no restrictions (78%), 22% contained paid or restricted content. Other website material included research reports (89%), newsfeeds (89%), fact sheets (67%), advocacy information (56%), and tools for practitioners (44%). This study provides a systematic summary of web-based tobacco prevention and control resources that archive communication and media content. The identified websites can assist researchers and practitioners in their tobacco control efforts, although additional archives focused specifically on vaping media and communication content are needed as the vaping epidemic among youth continues to intensify.

The biological pathways related to Arabidopsis seed development have been well studied and functional genes involved in it have been discovered. However, functional studies about maize seed development were more limited compared to Arabidopsis.
Therefore, transferring knowledge from Arabidopsis into maize would facilitate functional studies about maize seed development.
In this study, public transcriptome data of the two species related to seed development were obtained. Co-expression network in each species was compared by integrating orthology information.
This conserved co-functional network contained 4510 maize and 4808 Arabidopsis genes, respectively. Most of these genes were expressed in throughout embryo, early or later endosperm/seed. These conserved co-functional genes were significantly enriched for members of PPR protein family, which was consistent with that PPR proteins play an important role in maize seed development. Spatial-temporally co-functional genes were discovered in the seed coat and embryo. Furthermore, 66 well-studied genes involved in Arabidopsis seed development were co-functional with 319 maize genes and one maize gene (GRMZM2G036050) was further confirmed using an EMS-induced seed defective mutant by bulked segregating RNA sequencing (BSR) analysis.
Altogether, these results showed the potential of this approach to support functional studies in maize seed development by transferring knowledge from Arabidopsis.

Children in whom the questionnaire suggested the need of a genetic workup were further evaluated. All children diagnosed with an oncologic condition between January 1st 2012 and December 31st 2016 served as control. The CPS diagnoses established during both time periods were evaluated and compared. A CPS was diagnosed in 27 out of 287 children (9.4%) during the questionnaire period versus 24 out of 452 children (5.3%) during the control period (P = 0.032).

It is with a great prospect to develop an auxiliary diagnosis system for dental periapical radiographs based on deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and the indications and performances should be investigated. The aim of this study is to train CNNs for lesion detections on dental periapical radiographs, to evaluate performances across disease categories, severity levels, and train strategies.
Deep CNNs with region proposal techniques were constructed for disease detections on clinical dental periapical radiographs, including decay, periapical periodontitis, and periodontitis, leveled as mild, moderate, and severe. Four strategies were carried out to train corresponding networks with all disease and level categories (baseline), all disease categories (Net A), each disease category (Net B), and each level category (Net C) and validated by a fivefold cross-validation method afterward. Metrics, including intersection over union (IoU), precision, recall, and average precision (AP), were compared across diseases, severity levels, and train strategies by analysis of variance.

The physiological and metabolic differences between shoot tips and roots of tea plants are significant, and understanding them is required for improvement of tea quality and plant growth. A high-quality full-length transcriptome sequencing on tea plant roots and shoot tips by PacBio SMRT technology was done to gain a further understanding. Approximately 160699 and 166120 full-length transcripts were recovered in roots and shoots, respectively, including 31232 and 41068 novel isoforms and 16960 and 26029 alternative splicing (AS) isoforms. These supported 21699 full-length reads and 31232 and 41068 novel transcripts from root and shoot, respectively, including 1679 long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and 2772 fusion transcripts, which significantly upgrade the Camellia sinensis genome annotation. The respective 6475 and 6981 transcripts in roots and shoots differ in 3'-untranslated regions. Meanwhile, extensive analyses of novel transcripts, ASs, and lncRNAs also revealed a large number of ASs and lincRNAs closely related to the regulation of characteristic secondary metabolites including catechins, theanine, and caffeine. Finally, a root-specific CsMYB6 was characterized to regulate theanine biosynthesis by genetic and molecular analyses. CsMYB6 directly bound to and activate the promoter of theanine synthetase gene (CsTSI). High-resolution solid-state 23Na magic-angle-spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy is employed to characterize the local structure and microscopic dynamics of Na-ion transport in Na2MgSiO4. In the present work, we develop a geometric graph learning toxicity (GGL-Tox) model by integrating **** features and the gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) algorithm. The benchmark tests of the Tox21 Data Challenge are employed to demonstrate the utility and usefulness of the proposed GGL-Tox model. An extensive comparison with other state-of-the-art models indicates that GGL-Tox is an accurate and efficient model for toxicity analysis and prediction.

The Tox21 Data Challenge offered a platform to evaluate different computational methods for toxicity predictions. Inspired by the success of multiscale weighted colored graph (MWCG) theory in protein-ligand binding affinity predictions, we consider MWCG theory for toxicity analysis. In the present work, we develop a geometric graph learning toxicity (GGL-Tox) model by integrating MWCG features and the gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) algorithm. The benchmark tests of the Tox21 Data Challenge are employed to demonstrate the utility and usefulness of the proposed GGL-Tox model.
