We considered daily summer sun-exposure in an Australian cohort of CCSs and in community reference groups, and identified factors associated with sun-exposure in these populations. METHODS Summer sun-exposure data were collected on 471 CCSs (119 parents of survivors aged less then 16, and 352 survivors aged ≥16) and a reference group of 470 participants from the community (155 parents of children aged less then 16, and 355 adults aged ≥16). Survivors completed paper questionnaires and the reference groups completed an online survey. Medical records confirmed survivors' clinical information. Ordinal logistic regressions identified factors associaf skin cancer in CCSs. OBJECTIVES Adult obesity may increase the risks of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and there are genetic links between adult height and SLE. Thus, it is plausible that size earlier in life may be important in the aetiology of SLE as well. We investigated whether birthweight, childhood body mass index (BMI; [kg/m2]), height and growth are associated with risks of adult SLE. METHODS The study included 346,627 children from the Copenhagen School Health Records Register, born 1930-1996 with measured weights and heights from 7-13 years. Birthweight information was available from 1936. Linkages were made to the Danish National Patient Register for information on registrations of SLE. During follow-up, 435 individuals (366 women) were registered with SLE. Cox proportional hazards regressions were performed to estimate hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). RESULTS No differences by sex were detected in any of the associations. Birthweight was not associated with SLE risks. Childhood BMI and height were positively and linearly associated with SLE risks. For BMI at age 7, the HR was 1.11 (95% CI 1.01-1.23) per z-score. For height at age 7, the HR was 1.13 (95% CI 1.02-1.24) per z-score. The estimates were similar in magnitude across all childhood ages for BMI and height. There were limited indications that change in BMI or growth in height during childhood influence the risks of SLE in adulthood. CONCLUSIONS Childhood body size is associated with risks of adult SLE, which supports the hypothesis that early life factors are important in SLE aetiology. METHODS Patients followed at the PsA clinic between 2000 and 2015 were included. Patients are assessed at 6- to 12-month intervals according to a standard protocol. Remission was defined as a visit that patients had no tender or swollen joints, no inflammatory **** pain, no tender entheseal sites, minimal skin involvement with BSA less then 1%, patient pain on visual analog scale (VAS) score of less then 15, patient global disease activity VAS score of less then 20, Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) score less then 0.5. We used imputation approach to determine remission status for visits with incomplete criteria for each patient. RESULTS Data from 985 patients (57% males, average age of 47.4 years) were included in this study. From 2000 to 2015, 175 (18%) patients achieved remission at least once and 92 (9%) experienced sustained remission over at least 2 consecutive visits. In a multivariate Weibull regression analysis for the time to remission, higher BMI was associated with lower chance of remission (HR = 0.96, p = 0.012), while the use of biologics increased the chance of achieving remission (HR = 1.48, p = 0.034). The effect of biologics was also significant on the chance of achieving sustained remission for 2 or more consecutive visits (HR = 1.76, p = 0.020). However, biologics were not significantly associated with sustained remission when it was defined based on 3 or more consecutive visits. CONCLUSION Remission occurred at least once in 18% of the patients with PsA while sustained remission occurred in 9% of the study sample. Having higher BMI would reduce the achievement of remission. The use of biologic agents increased not only the chance of remission, but also the chance of sustained remission for at least 12 months. STUDY DESIGN This cohort study included infants born at 24-28 weeks of gestation and birth weight less then 1500 g in 2007-2015 in NICUs caring for ≥100 eligible infants in 6 countries. The ratio of observed/expected (O/E) PDA treatment rates was derived for each NICU by estimating the expected rate using a logistic regression model adjusted for potential confounders and network. The primary composite outcome was death or severe neurologic injury (grades III-IV intraventricular hemorrhage or periventricular leukomalacia). The associations between the NICU-level O/E PDA treatment ratio and neonatal outcomes were assessed using linear regression analyses including a quadratic effect (a square term) of the O/E PDA treatment ratio. RESULTS From 139 NICUs, 39 096 infants were included. The overall PDA treatment rate was 45% in the cohort (13%-77% by NICU) and the O/E PDA treatment ratio ranged from 0.30 to 2.14. The relationship between the O/E PDA treatment ratio and primary composite outcome was U-shaped, with the nadir at a ratio of 1.13 and a significant quadratic effect (P less then .001). U-shaped relationships were also identified with death, severe neurologic injury, and necrotizing enterocolitis. A convenience sample of N = 200 chronic heart failure (CHF) patients was recruited at cardiology centers in Germany (n = 100) and Pakistan (n = 100). Results indicated that trait-EI predicted better mental component of HRQoL in Pakistani and German CHF patients. Friends as social support appeared relevant for German patients only. Qualitative data indicate an internal locus of control in German as compared to Pakistani patients. Strengthening the beneficial role of social support in Pakistani patients is one example of how the current findings may inspire culture-specific treatment to empower patients dealing with the detrimental effects of CHF.Perinatal autopsy rates have declined significantly in recent decades. There is a lack of consensus concerning the potential religious influences for bereaved parents in their decision making process for post-mortem. This online study of British and Irish maternity healthcare chaplains explored their understanding of general and local perinatal post-mortem procedures and their experiences in the support of parents. Participants included Christian, Muslim and non-faith chaplains. No chaplain identified any religious prohibition to perinatal post-mortem. A majority of chaplains reported that they had been asked about post-mortem by parents; only a minority felt adequately prepared. A key recommendation is that following appropriate training chaplains may be well placed to support colleagues and parents during the decision making process.Qualitative evidence points to the engagement of religious coping strategies when facing adversity, and evidence also highlights the effectiveness of cognitive reappraisal in reducing the impact of distressing emotions on well-being. It has been suggested that religious practices could facilitate the use of reappraisal, by promoting reframing of negative cognitions to alter emotional states. However, the link between religiosity and reappraisal in influencing resilience against symptoms of distress is not known. The current study (N = 203) examined connections among these aspects, using self-reported measures of religious coping, habitual use of specific coping strategies (positive reappraisal) and perceived confidence in using coping strategies, as well as questionnaires assessing symptoms of distress (anxiety and depression). Results point to a mediating role of reappraisal and coping self-efficacy as part of mechanisms that provide a protecting role of religious coping against emotional distress. These results provide novel scientific evidence further validating millennia-old traditional coping practices and shed light on psychological factors influencing adaptive behaviors that promote increased resilience, reduce symptoms of distress, and maintain emotional well-being. To conclude, we must return to the path we have taken in order to conjugate the disjunction that constitutes existence with our central theme, that is, the thinking that sustains the psychological clinic as a possibility of upbuilding. For Kierkegaard, there is no separation between thinking and being, which means that clinical thinking is founded on the very way the clinical relationship is established.Religion is one of the strategies used to cope with life stressful events, particularly in cancer patients. This study aimed to translate, adapt and validate the 5-item Duke University Religion Index (DUREL) into European Portuguese. This is a cross-sectional study in a sample of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Data were collected in July-October 2018, and the study was approved by the ethics committee of the institution. A sample of 150 participants was included (64.7% female and 35.3% male), aged 35-83 years, and mainly Catholic (86.7%). Participants who were females, older, had lower education and from evangelical religious traditions scored higher on the total score. The Cronbach's alpha was 0.89. Factor analysis revealed a one-factor solution. Convergent validity was achieved between DUREL and BIAC (r = 0.78; p less then 0.01). Numerical flow simulations that analyze the turbulent flow characteristics within a turbopump are important for optimizing the efficiency of such machines. In the case of ventricular assist devices (VADs), turbulent flow characteristics must be also examined in order to improve hemocompatibility. Turbulence increases the shear stresses in the VAD flow, which can lead to an increased damage to the transported blood components. Therefore, an understanding of the turbulent flow patterns and their significance for the numerical blood damage prediction is particularly important for flow optimizations in VADs in order to identify and thus minimize flow regions where blood could be damaged due to high turbulent stresses. Nevertheless, the turbulence occurring in VADs and the local turbulent structures that lead to increased turbulent stresses have not yet been analyzed in detail in these machines. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the turbulence in an axial VAD in a comprehensive and double tracked way. First, the flow in an axial VAD was computed using the large-eddy simulation method, and it was verified that the majority of the turbulence was directly resolved by the simulation. Then, the turbulent flow state of the VAD was quantified globally. For this purpose, a self-designed evaluation method, the power loss analysis, was used. Subsequently, local flow regions and flow structures were identified where significant turbulent stresses prevail. It will be shown that the identified regions are universal and will also occur in other axial blood pumps as well, for example, in the HeartMate II.Although many flow cytometers can analyze 30-50 parameters, it is still challenging to develop a 40+ color panel for the phenotyping of immune cells using fluorochrome conjugated antibodies due to limitations in the availability of spectrally unique fluorochromes that can be excited by the commonly used laser lines (UV, Violet, Blue, Green/Yellow-green, and Red). Spectral flowcytometry is capable of differentiating fluorochromes with significant overlap in the emission spectra, enabling the use of spectrally similar fluorochrome pairs such as Brilliant Blue 515 and FITC in a single panel. We have developed a 43 color panel to characterize most of the immune subsets within the peripheral immune system, including conventional T cells, unconventional T cells such as invariant natural killer T cells (iNKT), Gamma delta (γδ) T-cell subsets (TCR Vδ2, TCR Vγ9) and mucosal-associated invariant T cells (MAIT), B-cell subsets, natural killer (NK) cells, plasmacytoid dendritic cells, dendritic cell subsets, hematopoietic progenitor cells, basophils, and innate lymphoid cell (ILC) subsets (CD117, CRTH2). The panel includes surface markers to analyze activation (CD38, HLA-DR, ICOS/CD278), differentiation (CD45RA, CD27, CD28, CD57), expression of cytokine and chemokine receptors (CD25, CD127, CCR10, CCR6, CCR4, CXCR3, CXCR5, CRTH2/CD294), and co-inhibitory molecules and exhaustion (PD-1, CD223/LAG-3, TIGIT), which enables a deep characterization of PBMCs from peripheral blood. Cells were analyzed on a 5-laser Cytek Aurora and data analysis was done using FlowJo. This panel can help to make a thorough interpretation of immune system, specifically when specimen quantity is low. The panel has not been completely optimized but would rather act as a guide toward the development of a workflow for optimized multicolor immunophenotyping panel.
Persons with Down syndrome (DS) are at increased risk of developing Alzheimer's dementia (DS-AD). Due to heterogeneity in the functioning in persons with DS, it is difficult to use cognitive testing to assess whether a person with DS has developed dementia due to AD. Electroencephalography (EEG) functional connectivity has shown promising results as a diagnostic tool for AD in persons without DS. In the current exploratory study, we investigated whether EEG functional connectivity could be used as a diagnostic marker of AD in persons with DS and the association with symptoms.

Numerical flow simulations that analyze the turbulent flow characteristics within a turbopump are important for optimizing the efficiency of such machines. In the case of ventricular assist devices (VADs), turbulent flow characteristics must be also examined in order to improve hemocompatibility. Turbulence increases the shear stresses in the VAD flow, which can lead to an increased damage to the transported blood components. Therefore, an understanding of the turbulent flow patterns and their significance for the numerical blood damage prediction is particularly important for flow optimizations in VADs in order to identify and thus minimize flow regions where blood could be damaged due to high turbulent stresses. Nevertheless, the turbulence occurring in VADs and the local turbulent structures that lead to increased turbulent stresses have not yet been analyzed in detail in these machines. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the turbulence in an axial VAD in a comprehensive and double tracked way. First, the flow in an axial VAD was computed using the large-eddy simulation method, and it was verified that the majority of the turbulence was directly resolved by the simulation. Then, the turbulent flow state of the VAD was quantified globally. For this purpose, a self-designed evaluation method, the power loss analysis, was used. Subsequently, local flow regions and flow structures were identified where significant turbulent stresses prevail. It will be shown that the identified regions are universal and will also occur in other axial blood pumps as well, for example, in the HeartMate II.Although many flow cytometers can analyze 30-50 parameters, it is still challenging to develop a 40+ color panel for the phenotyping of immune cells using fluorochrome conjugated antibodies due to limitations in the availability of spectrally unique fluorochromes that can be excited by the commonly used laser lines (UV, Violet, Blue, Green/Yellow-green, and Red). Spectral flowcytometry is capable of differentiating fluorochromes with significant overlap in the emission spectra, enabling the use of spectrally similar fluorochrome pairs such as Brilliant Blue 515 and FITC in a single panel. We have developed a 43 color panel to characterize most of the immune subsets within the peripheral immune system, including conventional T cells, unconventional T cells such as invariant natural killer T cells (iNKT), Gamma delta (γδ) T-cell subsets (TCR Vδ2, TCR Vγ9) and mucosal-associated invariant T cells (MAIT), B-cell subsets, natural killer (NK) cells, plasmacytoid dendritic cells, dendritic cell subsets, hematopoietic progenitor cells, basophils, and innate lymphoid cell (ILC) subsets (CD117, CRTH2). Through further analysis, we find that competitive saving motive is another intermediate mechanism that causes rising housing price to affect the health of middle-aged and elderly people; it is complementary to the social status seeking motivation. What's more, the mediation effect of the competitive saving motive is notably heterogeneous, as it exists only for middle-aged and elderly people with male or noncollege educated child but does not exist for those with female or college educated child.

Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are commonly used agents in the treatment of hypertension as part of monotherapy or combination therapy. Peripheral edema is the most common side effect that requires discontinuation or replacement of treatment. Some studies in the literature have shown that long-acting dihydropyridine type CCBs lead chylous ascites in peritoneal dialysis patients. However, amlodipine-associated serous ascites cases are not available in the literature.

Sirolimus (Rapamune) is an important immunosuppressive drug in kidney transplant patients. The usual maintenance dose of Sirolimus in these patients is 2 to 5 mg/d and its optimal maintenance trough level is 5 to 10 ng/mL. The required Sirolimus doses may differ markedly from patient to patient. It is because of high inter and intrapatient variability in its pharmacokinetics. There have been no studies in Iran on the correlation of Sirolimus blood level and its target dose. This study has been done to show the target dose of Sirolimus in kidney transplanted patients in Isfahan.
This is a longitudinal cross-sectional study conducted from June 2018 to September 2019. The study population included all kidney transplanted patients treated with Sirolimus in a nephrology private clinic. Inclusion criteria were age (equal or more than 18 years old) and the existence of complete data in the patient's file. The participants were excluded if there were not at least two Sirolimus levels in the patient's file. Demogranian kidney transplant recipients needed lower daily doses of Sirolimus (1.2 mg/d) to achieve the desired whole blood level. Further studies are recommended to confirm it.
Atherosclerosis is associated with increased intima- media thickness (IMT) and vascular calcification (VC) in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. Fetuin-A is a serum protein, which inhibits vascular calcification. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between fetuin-A and VC, in a group of MHD patients.
One hundred and forty-three MHD patients were included and followed for 3 years. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/litronesib.html Blood samples were studied for calcification and inflammation markers and fetuin-A was checked 3 times at the start, middle and the end of the study. We used common carotid doppler sonography for assessment of indices of VC, which were performed at baseline and at the end of the study. Vascular calcification was defined as a common carotid intima media thickness ≥ 0.8 mm on either side or the existence of any plaque or stenosis ≥ 50% on either side.
From 143 patients (mean age 57.5 ± 15.9, 60.1% male), 104 patients (75.4%) had VC at baseline. The mean age and the prevalence of DM were significantly hiients with VC. We didn't find any correlation between the level of fetuin-A and VC. It seems that the traditional risk factors of VC, including age and diabetes mellitus are the main predictors of VC in MHD patients.
L-Carnitine is a cardioprotective agent which balances metabolism by promoting mitochondrial β-oxidation and facilitating transportation of long chain fatty acids into the mitochondrial matrix. It has been shown that L-Carnitine level in plasma and tissue is lower in hemodialysis patients and they may lose the benefits of this substance. The aim of this trial was to evaluate the effects of L-Carnitine supplementation on cardiorespiratory Function in hemodialysis patients through ergospirometry.
The current study was conducted on 46 chronic hemodialysis patients. The patients were divided into two groups. In both groups ergospirometry parameters (VE Max, VO2-Max and VCO2 Max, AT, VE/VCO2 Slope) were recorded for a 3-month period of time. During this period, one group received L-Carnitine at doses of 2 g/d orally and the other group received only placebo. After three months, all of the mentioned parameters reevaluated and statistical analysis was done.
Only CRP value was different between two group and in placebo group increased significantly after 3 months (P < .05). No significant difference was detected in Cardio-respiratory factors. In terms of ergospirometry, PET-CO2 was the only parameter which was significantly increased in the treatment group but decreased in placebo group (P < .05).
Significant differences between our groups showed that L-Carnitine could help hemodialysis patients with cardiopulmonary problems to suffer lower rate of inflammation and poor life quality as shown at least in comparison of the two factors including CRP and PETCO2 at rest.

To avoid temporary hemodialysis, urgent initiated PD (UIPD) has been designed. In these patients, PD is initiated within 3 days after PD catheter placement. In this study, we evaluated the outcomes of UIPD in end-stage renal disease patients compared with the conventional start of PD.
This is a single-center observational study, comparing outcomes of UIPD to conventional initiation of PD. All patients diagnosed with ESRD from March 2013 to February 2019 and were willing for CAPD were recruited. In UIPD group treatment was initiated at day 2 of catheter insertion with a dialysate volume of 1000 mL per dwell for 2 hours gradually increased to 2000 mL per dwell volume by 8 to 10 days.
During the study period, 98 patients were started on peritoneal dialysis in our hospital 35 UIPD, 63 conventional PD. The mean age was 60.81 ± 13.04 years. 67% of patients were males with diabetes mellitus (32%) being the most common cause of CKD. Among the patients in UIPD, the mean age was 58.49 ± 16.1 years, while as in conventional group mean age was 62.
Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are commonly used agents in the treatment of hypertension as part of monotherapy or combination therapy. Peripheral edema is the most common side effect that requires discontinuation or replacement of treatment. The required Sirolimus doses may differ markedly from patient to patient. It is because of high inter and intrapatient variability in its pharmacokinetics. There have been no studies in Iran on the correlation of Sirolimus blood level and its target dose. This study has been done to show the target dose of Sirolimus in kidney transplanted patients in Isfahan. This is a longitudinal cross-sectional study conducted from June 2018 to September 2019. The study population included all kidney transplanted patients treated with Sirolimus in a nephrology private clinic. Inclusion criteria were age (equal or more than 18 years old) and the existence of complete data in the patient's file. The participants were excluded if there were not at least two Sirolimus levels in the patient's file. Demogranian kidney transplant recipients needed lower daily doses of Sirolimus (1.2 mg/d) to achieve the desired whole blood level. Further studies are recommended to confirm it. Fetuin-A is a serum protein, which inhibits vascular calcification. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between fetuin-A and VC, in a group of MHD patients. From 143 patients (mean age 57.5 ± 15.9, 60.1% male), 104 patients (75.4%) had VC at baseline. The mean age and the prevalence of DM were significantly hiients with VC. We didn't find any correlation between the level of fetuin-A and VC. It seems that the traditional risk factors of VC, including age and diabetes mellitus are the main predictors of VC in MHD patients. It has been shown that L-Carnitine level in plasma and tissue is lower in hemodialysis patients and they may lose the benefits of this substance. The aim of this trial was to evaluate the effects of L-Carnitine supplementation on cardiorespiratory Function in hemodialysis patients through ergospirometry. The current study was conducted on 46 chronic hemodialysis patients. The patients were divided into two groups. In both groups ergospirometry parameters (VE Max, VO2-Max and VCO2 Max, AT, VE/VCO2 Slope) were recorded for a 3-month period of time. During this period, one group received L-Carnitine at doses of 2 g/d orally and the other group received only placebo. After three months, all of the mentioned parameters reevaluated and statistical analysis was done. Only CRP value was different between two group and in placebo group increased significantly after 3 months (P < .05). No significant difference was detected in Cardio-respiratory factors. In terms of ergospirometry, PET-CO2 was the only parameter which was significantly increased in the treatment group but decreased in placebo group (P < .05). Significant differences between our groups showed that L-Carnitine could help hemodialysis patients with cardiopulmonary problems to suffer lower rate of inflammation and poor life quality as shown at least in comparison of the two factors including CRP and PETCO2 at rest. In this study, we evaluated the outcomes of UIPD in end-stage renal disease patients compared with the conventional start of PD. This is a single-center observational study, comparing outcomes of UIPD to conventional initiation of PD. All patients diagnosed with ESRD from March 2013 to February 2019 and were willing for CAPD were recruited. In UIPD group treatment was initiated at day 2 of catheter insertion with a dialysate volume of 1000 mL per dwell for 2 hours gradually increased to 2000 mL per dwell volume by 8 to 10 days. During the study period, 98 patients were started on peritoneal dialysis in our hospital 35 UIPD, 63 conventional PD. Secondary outcomes included the percentage of time in therapeutic aPTT range, in-hospital mortality, incidence of recurrent thrombosis, and hemorrhagic events. Of the 204 patients included in the study, 95 patients [bivalirudin (n = 35), argatroban (n = 60)] were included in the pre-shortage cohort and 109 patients [bivalirudin (n = 68), argatroban (n = 41)] were during shortage. No significant difference was observed in the time to first therapeutic aPTT pre- and during shortage (8.9 h ± 10.8 vs 8.8 h ± 10.2, P = 0.62). Compared to pre-shortage cohort, a greater percentage of time was spent in therapeutic aPTT range within the initial 48 h (32% (0-50) vs. 41.6% (0-63), P = 0.04) during shortage without statistically significant differences in the rates of in-hospital mortality, thrombosis, or bleeding. We recorded ECoG signals on two patients undergoing awake brain surgery and measured EP on functional sites after cortical stimulations and were the firsts to record three different types of EP on the same patients. Using low-intensity (1-3 mA) to evoke electrogenesis we observed that (i) "true" remote EPs are attenuated in amplitude and delayed in time due to the divergence of white matter pathways; (ii) "false" remote EPs are attenuated but not delayed as they originate from the same electrical source; (iii) Singular but reproducible positive components in the EP can be generated when the DES is applied in the temporal lobe or the premotor cortex; and (iv) rare EP can be triggered when the DES is applied subcortically these can be either negative, or surprisingly, positive. We proposed different activation and electrophysiological propagation mechanisms following DES, based on the nature of activated neural elements and discussed important methodological pitfalls when measuring EP in the brain. Altogether, these results pave the way to map the connectivity in real-time between the DES and the recording sites; to characterize the local electrophysiological states and to link electrophysiology and function. In the future, and in practice, this technique could be used to perform electrophysiological mapping in order to link (non)-functional to electrophysiological responses with DES and could be used to guide the surgical act itself.

This study aimed to examine the association between smoking-related factors and the effectiveness of pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic UC.
This multicenter retrospective study was conducted using data from 95 patients with metastatic UC treated with pembrolizumab. The primary outcomes were progression and all-cause mortality. Time-to-event outcomes were compared with smoking history and lifetime smoking exposure at treatment initiation. Survival curves were compared using the log-rank test, with hazard ratios (HRs) estimated from Cox regression models. Cubic spline regression analysis was used to depict event hazards.
We identified 32 (34.7%) patients with heavy smoking exposure (≥ 25 pack-years). Moreover, 19 (20.0%), 36 (37.9%), and 40 (42.1%) patients were current, former, and never smokers, respectively. Multivariable models showed that heavy smoking exposure was significantly associated with lower risk of progression (HR 0.58; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.35-0.97; P = 0.047) and all-cause mortality (HR 0.30; 95% CI 0.11-0.82; P = 0.019). Cubic spline regression analyses revealed a dose-effect relationship. No significant association was observed between smoking history alone and effectiveness of pembrolizumab.

We sought to assess the actionability and clinical utilization of molecular tumor profiling results obtained via Foundation Medicine tumor sequencing tests in uterine and ovarian cancers.
We performed a single-institution retrospective chart review to obtain demographic and clinical information in patients with uterine and ovarian cancer whose tumors were submitted to Foundation Medicine for molecular tumor profiling over a 7-year period. Alterations identified on testing were stratified according to the OncoKB database actionability algorithm. Descriptive statistics were primarily used to analyze the data.
Tumors from 185 women with gynecologic cancer were submitted for molecular tumor profiling between 2013 and 2019. The majority of tests (144/185; 78%) were ordered after a diagnosis of recurrence. In 60 (32%), no actionable molecular alteration was identified. Thirteen (7%) identified an alteration that directed to a US Food and Drug Administration-approved therapy in that tumor type, while 112 (61%) had alterations with investigational or hypothetical treatment implications.

The optimum of experimental parameters including catalyst dosage, dye concentration, time and pH, D-optimal Design (DOD) along with response surface methodology obtained by R software. The initial and outlet concentration was measured using a spectrophotometer. Besides, Analysis of variance results for the quadratic model showed simple linear regression with high significance and provided as a predicting model. The differences less than 0.2 between multiple and adjusted R2 in two models indicate that two examined models fitted suitably. The highest removal efficiency of AO7 was 95 and 74% under visible and UV irradiation, respectively. Therefore, the higher removal efficiency in visible light reduces the costs and energy, moreover, offers an environmentally friendly method. The results showed that the removal efficiency of AO7 increased considerably with rising catalyst dosage and time, as well as minimizing dye concentration, and pH.Here the fabrication of a novel PVA/CMC/halloysite nanoclay membrane for the effective adsorption of cationic dye (methylene blue, MB) from aqueous environment is reported. The membranes were analyzed through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy (OM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), contact angle and universal testing machine (UTM) analysis. The adsorption behavior of the membrane in terms of nanoclay loading, contact time, initial concentration of MB, pH and temperature were also discussed. The membrane exhibits excellent removal efficiency (99.5%) for MB in the optimal conditions such as nanoclay dose = 6 wt%, initial dye concentration = 10 ppm, contact time = 240 min, pH = 10 and temperature = 30 °C. Three isotherm models (Freundlich, Langmuir and Temkin) were employed to analyze the dye adsorption data. The results revealed that the adsorption process could be described well with both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm model. The kinetics of MB adsorption onto membrane follows pseudo-second-order model while thermodynamic parameter indicate that adsorption is feasible and endothermic in nature. The antibacterial studies revealed that the PVA/CMC/halloysite nanoclay membrane possess notable antibacterial property. Finally, the desorption studies showed that the membrane have good reusability even after four recycles.

Using a quasi-Poisson regression model in combination with a Distributed Lag Non-linear Models (DLNM), the Relative Risk (RR) was estimated through comparing the high temperature (99th, 95th, and 75th percentiles) and low temperature (1st, 5th, and 25th percentiles) with the median. The effect of air pollution was estimated for each 1-, 5-, or 10-unit increase in the concentration during lags (days) 0-21.
Among air pollutants, only a 5-ppm increase in the SO
concentration in lag 0 increased the risk of stillbirth significantly (RR = 1.062; 1.002-1.125). The largest effect of heat was observed while comparing the 99th percentile of minimum daily temperature (26.9°C) with the median temperature (13.2°C), which was not statistically significant (RR = 1.25; 0.95-1.65). As for cold, a non-significant protective effect was observed while comparing the 1st percentile of maximum daily temperature (3.1°C) with the median temperature (23.2°C) (RR = 0.92; 0.72-1.19).

The membranes were analyzed through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy (OM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), contact angle and universal testing machine (UTM) analysis. The adsorption behavior of the membrane in terms of nanoclay loading, contact time, initial concentration of MB, pH and temperature were also discussed. The membrane exhibits excellent removal efficiency (99.5%) for MB in the optimal conditions such as nanoclay dose = 6 wt%, initial dye concentration = 10 ppm, contact time = 240 min, pH = 10 and temperature = 30 °C. Three isotherm models (Freundlich, Langmuir and Temkin) were employed to analyze the dye adsorption data. The results revealed that the adsorption process could be described well with both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm model. The kinetics of MB adsorption onto membrane follows pseudo-second-order model while thermodynamic parameter indicate that adsorption is feasible and endothermic in nature. The antibacterial studies revealed that the PVA/CMC/halloysite nanoclay membrane possess notable antibacterial property. Finally, the desorption studies showed that the membrane have good reusability even after four recycles. This study aimed to determine the effect of ambient air pollution and temperature on stillbirth in Tehran. In this time-series study, the effect of O (ppb), CO (ppm), NO (ppb), SO (ppb), PM (μg/m ), and minimum, maximum, and mean daily temperature (°C) on stillbirth was evaluated in Tehran, Iran between March 2015 and March 2018. Using a quasi-Poisson regression model in combination with a Distributed Lag Non-linear Models (DLNM), the Relative Risk (RR) was estimated through comparing the high temperature (99th, 95th, and 75th percentiles) and low temperature (1st, 5th, and 25th percentiles) with the median. The effect of air pollution was estimated for each 1-, 5-, or 10-unit increase in the concentration during lags (days) 0-21. Among air pollutants, only a 5-ppm increase in the SO concentration in lag 0 increased the risk of stillbirth significantly (RR = 1.062; 1.002-1.125). The largest effect of heat was observed while comparing the 99th percentile of minimum daily temperature (26.9°C) with the median temperature (13.2°C), which was not statistically significant (RR = 1.25; 0.95-1.65). As for cold, a non-significant protective effect was observed while comparing the 1st percentile of maximum daily temperature (3.1°C) with the median temperature (23.2°C) (RR = 0.92; 0.72-1.19). Each 5-ppm increase in the mean daily SO in lag 0 increased the risk of stillbirth by 6% while other air pollutants had no significant effects on stillbirth. The use of medicated mouthwashes and gels in the home care maintenance of dental implants is controversial due to the possibility of residue deposition on the implant collar. The aim of this in vitro study was to analyse, by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the amount of residues on dental implant collars treated with various commercial home dental care products.
Gel and mouthwash products were tested on 10 implants. The gels included sodium fluoride, amine fluoride, and sodium hyaluronate products. The mouthwashes tested contained triclosan, nimesulide, stannous fluoride, amine fluoride, and hexetidine-chlorobutanol. The SEM observations were performed at different magnifications in double modality SE (secondary electrons) and BSE (backscattered electrons) to qualitatively assess any residual products. The image quantitative analysis was performed by Image J
software to assess areas occupied by residuals. All results were analysed by the same researcher with experience in electron microscophwash products. The longer permanence of the products may lead to a more effective plaque control than other products.
Data from this experimental study showed that home care commercial products in gel formulation, especially those containing fluoride, leave more residuals on titanium smooth surfaces than mouthwash products. "Mothering" was identified as the primary family role both prior to and during school enrolment. All participants identified "time" as the greatest challenge and role conflict as being self-imposed. The prime benefit reported was increased self-confidence. The educational system offered the least amount of support according to respondents.
The mature female student requires support when returning to higher education-from herself, family, and the academic setting. Institutions of higher education should be cognizant of specific characteristics, barriers, and challenges any student encounters to help facilitate student success.

People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) have difficulty accessing oral health services primarily due to HIV-related stigma and discrimination. In 2011, the University of British Columbia (UBC) Dental Hygiene Degree Program implemented a preventive oral health services program at the Positive Living Society of British Columbia (PLSBC), a non-profit organization supporting PLWHA. This study aims to assess the perception of how this type of service delivery influenced access to oral health care for members of PLSBC.
Personal interviews with 10 members and one focus group comprising 12 staff were conducted. Audiorecordings were transcribed verbatim and coded thematically. Emerging themes were identified using the interpretative phenomenology approach following Penchansky and Thomas' theory of access.
The program helped members maximize their dental coverage to receive other types of dental services. Members who were influenced by past traumatic experiences appreciated that services were delivered in a safe mannLSBC. However, the limited availability of the program prevented many members from accessing comprehensive oral health care and is a factor that should be addressed.
Residents living in long-term care facilities have an increased risk of developing oral diseases and exacerbating existing systemic conditions. Major factors in oral health outcomes include a lack of access to dental care, varying levels of dependency, and comorbidities. While oral health can be maintained through the delivery of daily oral care, it is often insufficient.
This literature review examines the effectiveness of theoretical education versus clinical skills training in improving oral care delivery abilities of care aides and seniors' oral health outcomes.
Adjunctive strategies to include theoretical education and clinical skill refinement have the highest potential to enhance long-term outcomes.
A major factor in the efficacy of oral care delivery are the attitudes of care aides. With the integration of oral health assessment tools into care practices, care staff may learn to recognize oral diseases and determine the oral health needs of residents. Simple snoring is defined as the production of sound in the upper aerodigestive tract during sleep, not accompanied by other pathologies. Sleep bruxism (SB) refers to repetitive phasic, tonic, or mixed masticatory muscle activity during sleep. In this study, we investigated the relationship between simple snoring and SB in patients without obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). A total of 565 snoring subjects underwent polysomnography. After examination, individuals with OSA were excluded from the study group. Finally, 129 individuals were analyzed. The bruxism episode index was positively correlated with maximum snore intensity. Phasic bruxism was positively correlated with snore intensity in all sleep positions. Bruxers had a significantly decreased average and minimum heart rate compared with non-bruxers. Supine sleep position seemed to have a significant impact on snore intensity and SB. In summary, our study showed the relationship between SB, snore intensity, and body position. Phasic bruxism was positively correlated with snore intensity despite the body position, which is an interesting and novel finding.The polymer electrolyte based on DxCsMg(CH3COO)2Ni with three different glycerol concentrations have been prepared. The impedance study has verified that the electrolyte with 42 wt.% of glycerol (A3) has the highest ionic conductivity of 7.71 × 10-6 S cm-1 at room temperature. The ionic conductivity is found to be influenced by the transport parameters. From the dielectric analysis, it was shown that the electrolytes in this system obeyed the non-Debye behavior. The A3 electrolyte exhibited a dominancy of ions (tion > te) with a breakdown voltage of 2.08 V. The fabricated electrochemical double layer capacitor (EDLC) achieved the specific capacitance values of 24.46 F/g and 39.68 F/g via the cyclic voltammetry (CV) curve and the charge-discharge profile, respectively. The other significant parameters to evaluate the performance of EDLC have been determined, such as internal resistance (186.80 to 202.27 Ω) energy density (4.46 Wh/kg), power density (500.58 to 558.57 W/kg) and efficiency (92.88%).Proximity biotinylation was developed to detect physiologically relevant protein-protein interactions in living cells. In this method, the protein of interest is tagged with a promiscuous biotin ligase, such as BioID or BioID2, which produces activated biotin that reacts with nearby proteins; these proteins can subsequently be purified and identified by mass spectrometry. Here we report a novel modification of this technique by combining it with a self-associating split-GFP system in which we exploit the high-affinity interaction between GFP1-10 and GFP11 to recruit BioID2 to the protein of interest. As a test case, we fused GFP11 to clathrin light chain (CLTB) and BioID2 to GFP1-10. Co-expression of GFP11-CLTB and BioID2-GFP1-10 yielded a green fluorescent complex that co-localized with clathrin heavy chain. To facilitate removal of non-specifically biotinylated proteins, we generated an inducible cell line expressing BioID2-GFP1-10. Proximity biotinylation in this cell line with GFP11-CLTB yielded a higher percentage of biologically relevant interactions than direct fusion of BioID2 to CLTB. The proposed lower body model expands on the current self-calibrating human-IMU estimation literature and demonstrates a novel knee hinge model, the inclusion of segment length anthropometry, segment cross-leg length discrepancy, and the relationship between the knee axis and femur/tibia segment. The maximum a posteriori problem is formulated as a factor graph and inference is performed via post-hoc, on-manifold global optimization. The method is evaluated (N = 12) for a prescribed human motion profile task. Accuracy of derived knee flexion/extension angle (4.34∘ root mean square error (RMSE)) without magnetometers is similar to current state-of-the-art with magnetometer use.
