Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a serious mental illness with high rates of relapse and mortality. Psychiatric comorbidities are common but their impact on the prognosis is largely unknown.
The aim was to investigate the influence of psychiatric comorbidity on weight gain during treatment of AN.
A systematic search was performed in PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE and PsycINFO. Studies evaluating psychiatric comorbidity as a predictor for treatment outcome (weight gain) were included, however, comorbid alcohol/drug addiction was excluded from this review.
Four thousand five hundred and twenty six publications were identified from which 15 were included. The majority of the included studies had a prospective open naturalistic study design, a short-term follow-up period, and were based on small populations of primarily adolescent and adult women. Four studies indicate depression, and two obsessiveness as negative prognostic factors, whilst one study indicated moderate depression and yet another, neuroticism, as positive predictors for weight gain.

Anti-cancer drugs are approved typically on the basis of efficacy and safety as evaluated in phase III randomized trials (RCTs). Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is a direct measure of patient benefit, but is under-reported. Here we explore associations with reporting of HRQoL data in phase III RCTs in common solid tumors.
We searched ClinicalTrials.gov to identify phase III RCTs evaluating new drugs in adults with advanced cancers that completed accrual between January 2005 and October 2016. Data on HRQoL, safety, and tolerability comprising treatment-related death, treatment discontinuation and commonly reported grade 3 or 4 adverse events (AEs) were extracted. Associations between these measures and reporting of HRQoL data were explored using logistic regression.
Of 377 phase III RCTs identified initially, 143 studies were analysed and comprised 55% positive trials and 90% industry sponsored trials. HRQoL was listed as an endpoint in 59% trials; and of these, only 65% reported HRQoL data. There were higher odds of reporting HRQoL data for positive trials (OR 2.05, P=.04) and trials published in journals with higher impact factor (OR 1.35, P=.01). Reporting of HRQoL was not associated with treatment-related death (OR 1.25, P=.40) or treatment discontinuation (OR 1.12, P=.61), but was positively associated with dyspnea and dermatological adverse events.

The objectives of this study were to investigate progressive cortical thinning and volume loss in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with different longitudinal patterns of cognitive decline with stable normal cognition, with stable mild cognitive impairment, with conversion to mild cognitive impairment, and with conversion to dementia.
We recruited 112 patients (37 Parkinson's disease with stable normal cognition, 20 Parkinson's disease with stable mild cognitive impairment, 36 Parkinson's disease with conversion to mild cognitive impairment, 19 Parkinson's disease with conversion to dementia) and 38 healthy controls. All patients underwent at least 2 visits within 4 years including clinical/cognitive assessments and structural MRI (total visits, 393). Baseline cortical thickness and gray matter volumetry were compared between groups. In PD, gray matter changes over time were investigated and compared between groups.

In the times of serious health alarm, as it is happening in the COVID-19 pandemic, burden of healthcare is likely to explode. The current pandemic is having a profound effect on all aspects of society, including mental health and physical health. In a previous study we showed interaction between compassion fatigue, burnout and workload.
In our study, we have evaluated stress levels in 102 healthcare workers recruited in different rehabilitation departments (psychiatric and multidisciplinary). In particular, we evaluated the fatigue of compassion, vicarious trauma, burnout and hope (hopelessness) in the first two months of lookdown due to the COVID-19.
The results obtained after the administration of the following evaluation scales sCFs, CBI, Pro QOL, HBS, showed an overall increase in the scores in all professional figures. Significant compassion fatigue and burnout percentage is present in several groups. The highest levels of hopelessness in some professional figures, while higher educational levels can protect workers from the risk of developing high levels of work stress.
The data obtained with this study are similar to those of our previous study, although they may indicate that during the period of the coronavirus pandemic the scores of the several scales used are higher.

The SAVE-9 (Stress and Anxiety to Viral Epidemics - 9 items) scale has been developed as a tool for assessing work anxiety and stress in response to the viral epidemic of health professionals working to prevent the spread of the virus and to treat infected people.
Surgical stabilization of rib fractures (SSRF) remains a relatively controversial operation, which is often deferred because of concern about expense. The objective of this study was to determine the charges for SSRF versus medical management during index admission for rib fractures. We hypothesize that SSRF is associated with increased charge as compared with medical management.
This is a retrospective chart review of a prospectively maintained database of patients with ≥3 displaced rib fractures admitted to a level 1 trauma center from 2010 to 2019. Patients who underwent SSRF (operative management [OM]) were compared with those managed medically (nonoperative management [NOM]). The total hospital charge between OM and NOM was compared with univariate analysis, followed by backward stepwise regression and mediation analysis.
Overall, 279 patients were included. The majority (75%) were male, the median age was 54 years, and the median Injury Severity Scale score (ISS) was 21. A total of 182 patients unse data refute the prevailing notion that SSRF should be withheld because of concerns for increased cost.

Penetrating neck trauma (PNT) continues to present a diagnostic dilemma. Practice guidelines advocate the use of computed tomography angiography (CTA) for suspected vascular or aerodigestive injuries in all neck zones. There is also an evolving evidence of "no-zone" approach where the decision to obtain a CTA is guided by physical examination findings and clinical presentation. The aim of this systematic review was to examine existing literature on the diagnostic accuracy of CTA as an integral component of the no-zone approach in stable patients with PNT.
We performed a systematic review using an electronic search of three databases (PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Review) from 2000 to 2017.
A total of 5 prospective and 8 retrospective studies were included. The sensitivity of CTA ranged from 83% to 100%; specificity, from 61% to 100%; positive predictive value, from 30% to 100%; and negative predictive value, from 90% to 100%. This is the first systematic review to examine the role of CTA in PNT. In combination with physical examination, CTA demonstrated a reliable high sensitivity and specificity for detecting injuries in PNT in stable patients with SSs of injury and select patients with HSs of injury. These results support the management of PNT using no-zone approach based on physical examination and the use of CTA in stable patients.

Postinjury hypercoagulability occurs in >25% of injured patients, increasing risk of thromboembolic complications despite chemoprophylaxis. However, few clinically relevant animal models of posttraumatic hypercoagulability exist. We aimed to evaluate a rodent model of bilateral hindlimb injury as a preclinical model of postinjury hypercoagulability.
Forty Wistar rats were anesthetized with isoflurane 20 underwent bilateral hindlimb fibula fracture, soft tissue and muscular crush injury, and bone homogenate injection intended to mimic the physiological severity of bilateral femur fracture. Twenty sham rats underwent anesthesia only. Both control and treatment groups showed improvement in ROM between baseline and day 95. In the treatment group, AROM improved from the baseline of 272.89° (SD 86.25) to 462.11° (SD 96.89) and the control group from 246.00° (SD 5.66) to 451.50° (SD 50.20) at day 95 with no statistical difference between groups p=0.78. Site data were in line with the whole study findings. Treatment-related adverse events at the injection site, including haematoma (bruising) and localised pain and swelling, were common.

Recently, the number of retinal patients is increasing in Nepal. The retinal problems are the second common cause of blindness in Nepal. Retinal diseases are challenging to manage due to the lack of simple and cost-effective screening methods, limited human resources, poverty, and lack of awareness in Nepal. Hospital for Children, Eye, ENT & Rehabilitation Services (CHEERS), Nepal conducted retina screening camps and education in communities through Retina Eye Care of Nepal project (RECON) in the years 2017 and 2018.
We screened retinal patients with an indirect ophthalmoscope coupled with plus 20 Dioptre lens and portable fundus camera. We referred the patients needing interventions to the base hospital (CHEERS) using a screening algorithm, where they received retinal laser and surgery. Besides, we also provided on-site educational programs for retinal disease awareness to the community.

The magnitude of benefit of PARPi in these studies was consistently greatest in the BRCAm patients (germline or tumor). PARPi treatment also improved PFS in the HRD cohort but to a lesser degree than in patients with BRCAm. In secondary analyses, the overall impact of PARPi treatment in HR proficient patients, which comprise about 50% of ovarian cancers, was more limited than in the other subgroups. Data for overall survival, also a secondary endpoint, is currently immature for these four trials. A prospective pilot study was conducted at two gynecologic oncology hubs in an integrated healthcare system from May 1 to November 6, 2019. Gynecologic oncologists offered multigene panel testing to women with newly diagnosed ovarian cancer, followed by selective genetic counseling. Outcomes were compared between study participants and women from other hubs in the health system.
Of ovarian cancer patients at study sites, 40 participated and all underwent genetic testing. Of 101 patients diagnosed at other sites, 85% were referred to genetics (p=.0061 compared to pilot participants) and 67% completed testing (p<.0001). The time from diagnosis to blood draw and notification of result was 18.5 and 34days for the pilot group compared to 25.5 and 53days at other sites. Panel testing detected 9 (22.5%) and 7 (10.3%, p=.08) pathogenic mutations in each group, respectively. Patients and providers were highly satisfied with the streamlined process.

Frailty is associated with early postoperative outcomes. How frailty influences long-term postoperative recovery is poorly described. Our objective was to evaluate the association of frailty with postoperative disability trajectories in the year after surgery.
Prespecified 1-yr follow-up of a prospective multicentre cohort study. Patients ≥65 yr were assessed for frailty before major elective noncardiac surgery (Clinical Frailty Scale [CFS] and Fried Phenotype [FP]). The primary outcome was patient-reported disability score (using the WHO Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0) at baseline, 30, 90, and 365 days after surgery. Repeated measures linear regression estimated the association of preoperative frailty with changes in disability scores over time, adjusted for procedure. Group-based trajectory modelling was used to identify subgroup trajectories of people with frailty.

Resveratrol is a plant secondary metabolite with multiple health-beneficial properties. The Y. lipolytica strain expressing a heterologous pathway produced 52.1 ± 1.2 mg/L resveratrol in a small-scale cultivation. The titer increased to 409.0 ± 1.2 mg/L when the strain was further engineered with feedback-insensitive alleles of the key genes in the shikimate pathway and with five additional copies of the heterologous biosynthetic genes. In controlled fed-batch bioreactor, the strain produced 12.4 ± 0.3 g/L resveratrol, the highest reported titer to date for de novo resveratrol production, with a yield on glucose of 54.4 ± 1.6 mg/g and a productivity of 0.14 ± 0.01 g/L/h. To describe the etiological causes and clinical profile of dry eye disease (DED) among children and adolescents seeking eye care in India.
This was a cross-sectional study of 1023 new patients (≤21 years of age) diagnosed with DED presenting between 2010 and 2018 to a multi-tier ophthalmology hospital network. Children and adolescents with both symptoms and signs of dry eyes were considered as subjects. The data entry and retrieval were done using an electronic medical record system and analyzed using appropriate statistical tests.
The mean age of the patients was 15.2±5.6 years and 76% were in their early and late adolescence. Overall, the main etiologies responsible for DED in children and adolescents were Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) in 49% of cases, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) in 33% and Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) in 9%. Aqueous deficiency dry eye (ADDE) because of SJS and VAD accounted for most of the cases in infancy (92%), toddlerhood (96%), early childhood (76%) and middle childhood (68%). While Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) related evaporative dry eye (EDE) was the leading cause of DED in early (51%) and late adolescence (66%). Severe visual impairment and blindness was significantly greater in eyes with ADDE as compared to those with EDE (p<0.0001), 81% of which were affected by SJS.

Resveratrol is a plant secondary metabolite with multiple health-beneficial properties. The Y. lipolytica strain expressing a heterologous pathway produced 52.1 ± 1.2 mg/L resveratrol in a small-scale cultivation. The titer increased to 409.0 ± 1.2 mg/L when the strain was further engineered with feedback-insensitive alleles of the key genes in the shikimate pathway and with five additional copies of the heterologous biosynthetic genes. In controlled fed-batch bioreactor, the strain produced 12.4 ± 0.3 g/L resveratrol, the highest reported titer to date for de novo resveratrol production, with a yield on glucose of 54.4 ± 1.6 mg/g and a productivity of 0.14 ± 0.01 g/L/h. To describe the etiological causes and clinical profile of dry eye disease (DED) among children and adolescents seeking eye care in India. This was a cross-sectional study of 1023 new patients (≤21 years of age) diagnosed with DED presenting between 2010 and 2018 to a multi-tier ophthalmology hospital network. Children and adolescents with both symptoms and signs of dry eyes were considered as subjects. The data entry and retrieval were done using an electronic medical record system and analyzed using appropriate statistical tests. The mean age of the patients was 15.2±5.6 years and 76% were in their early and late adolescence. Overall, the main etiologies responsible for DED in children and adolescents were Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) in 49% of cases, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) in 33% and Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) in 9%. Aqueous deficiency dry eye (ADDE) because of SJS and VAD accounted for most of the cases in infancy (92%), toddlerhood (96%), early childhood (76%) and middle childhood (68%). Purpose This study reports findings from a clinical trial that implemented an early stuttering treatment program integrated with evidence-based parenting support (EBPS) to children who stutter (CWS) with concomitant self-regulation challenges manifested in elevated attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (eADHD) symptoms and compared those outcomes to CWS receiving stuttering treatment without EBPS. Method Participants were 76 preschool CWS and their parent(s). Thirty-six of these children presented with eADHD and were quasirandomized into two groups stuttering treatment only (eADHDstandard) or stuttering treatment integrated with EBPS (eADHDintegrated). The remaining children did not meet criteria for eADHD symptoms and received stuttering treatment only (No-eADHDstandard). Pre, post, and 3-month follow-up measures of stuttering treatment outcomes as well as treatment effects on measures of child behavior difficulties and parenting practices were examined. Results Significant reduction in stuttering was found for all groups. However, the eADHDintegrated group showed a greater reduction in stuttering frequency than the eADHDstandard group, and at follow-up, stuttering frequencies in the eADHDintegrated group matched those of children in the No-eADHDstandard group, while stuttering in the eADHDstandard group remained significantly higher. Children with eADHD symptoms who received the integrated program also required significantly less stuttering intervention time than those children with eADHD symptoms who received stuttering treatment only. Families in the eADHDintegrated group reported large and significant improvements in child behavior and parenting practices. Conclusion This study provides support for an early treatment program for CWS. Ten surgeons performed 5 image interaction tasks-step-through, pan, zoom, circle measure, and line measure-on the 3 input interaction devices-the Microsoft Kinect, the Leap Motion, and a mouse. Results. The Kinect shared similar accuracy with the Leap Motion for most of the tasks. No other physiological or subjective measures were improved by IMT or IMTF. Both IMT and IMTF increased the strength of respiratory muscles pre-and-post a 6 km loaded walk in cold-hypoxia. An interesting puzzle is the fact that an infection of a tumor necrosis factor α (TNF)-deficient host with pathogens such as bacteria or parasites that reside intracellularly inevitably ends fatally. Is this due to one specific role of TNF in the immune defense or are different functions responsible for this outcome? In this review we provide an update of the functions of TNF in the defense against the intracellular pathogens Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Leishmania major. Furthermore, we discuss the role of TNF in the generation of proinflammatory macrophages in mouse models of infection and summarize briefly the potential consequences of anti-TNF treatment for infectious diseases.Cell wall biogenesis protein phosphatases play important roles in various cellular processes in fungi. However, their functions in the widely distributed mycoparasitic fungus Clonostachys rosea remain unclear, as do their potential for controlling plant fungal diseases. Also, to capture greater diversity in this genus, we use as outgroup five As(III) sensitive strains isolated from Easter Island (Chile) and The Great Salt Lake (United States). With this review, we recapitulate the nature of the S. cerevisiae-insect association, disclose its extent in terms of geographical distribution and species involved, and present YeastFinder, a cured online database providing a collection of information on this topic.Geothermal hot springs are a natural setting to study microbial adaptation to a wide range of temperatures reaching up to boiling. Temperature gradients lead to distinct microbial communities that inhabit their optimum niches. We sampled three alkaline, high temperature (80-100°C) hot springs in Yellowstone and Iceland that had cooling outflows and whose microbial communities had not been studied previously. The microbial composition in sediments and mats was determined by DNA sequencing of rRNA gene amplicons. Over three dozen phyla of Archaea and Bacteria were identified, representing over 1700 distinct organisms. We observed a significant non-linear reduction in the number of microbial taxa as the temperature increased from warm (38°C) to boiling. At high taxonomic levels, the community structure was similar between the Yellowstone and Iceland hot springs. We identified potential endemism at the genus level, especially in thermophilic phototrophs, which may have been potentially driven by distinct environmental conditions and dispersal limitations.

Phylogenetic analysis showed that SH strains share a common ancestor. Consequently, populations were separated and structured in different SH microenvironments, giving rise to multiple coexisting lineages. Hence, this genotypic variability is also evidenced by the COG (Clusters of Orthologous Groups) composition and the size of their accessory genomes. Interestingly, these observations correlate with physiological traits such as growth patterns, gene expression, and enzyme activity related to arsenic response and/or tolerance. With this review, we recapitulate the nature of the S. cerevisiae-insect association, disclose its extent in terms of geographical distribution and species involved, and present YeastFinder, a cured online database providing a collection of information on this topic.Geothermal hot springs are a natural setting to study microbial adaptation to a wide range of temperatures reaching up to boiling. Temperature gradients lead to distinct microbial communities that inhabit their optimum niches. We sampled three alkaline, high temperature (80-100°C) hot springs in Yellowstone and Iceland that had cooling outflows and whose microbial communities had not been studied previously. The microbial composition in sediments and mats was determined by DNA sequencing of rRNA gene amplicons. Over three dozen phyla of Archaea and Bacteria were identified, representing over 1700 distinct organisms. We observed a significant non-linear reduction in the number of microbial taxa as the temperature increased from warm (38°C) to boiling. Cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) and sappan wood (Caesalpinia sappan) have been reported to be beneficial for Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and the combination is commonly used by Indonesian herbal industries. In the present study, the simultaneous extraction of bioactive compounds from both plants was conducted using natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES), their content analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and their dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP IV) inhibitory activity evaluated. An additional in silico molecular docking analysis was conducted to ensure their activity. The results showed that NADES (with a composition of choline chloride-glycerol) extraction from cinnamon and sappan wood had DPP IV inhibitory activity of 205.0 and 1254.0 µg/mL, respectively. Brazilin as a marker substance from sappan wood was responsible for the DPP IV inhibitory activity, while none of the marker substances chosen for cinnamon bark (trans-cinnamaldehyde, coumarin, and trans-cinnamic acid) were found to have significant DPP IV inhibitory activity. These results were confirmed by molecular docking conducted in brazilin, trans-cinnamaldehyde, coumarin, and trans-cinnamic acid.Endometrial cancer (EC) is one of the most common malignancies of the female reproductive organs. Accumulating epidemiological studies have clearly revealed that hyperinsulinemia, which accompanies these disorders, plays central roles in the development of EC via the insulin-phosphoinositide 3 kinase (PI3K) signaling pathway as a metabolic driver. Recent comprehensive genomic analyses showed that over 90% of ECs have genomic alterations in this pathway, resulting in enhanced insulin signaling and production of optimal tumor microenvironments (TMEs). Targeting PI3K signaling is therefore an attractive treatment strategy. Several clinical trials for recurrent or advanced ECs have been attempted using PI3K-serine/threonine kinase (AKT) inhibitors. However, these agents exhibited far lower efficacy than expected, possibly due to activation of alternative pathways that compensate for the PIK3-AKT pathway and allow tumor growth, or due to adaptive mechanisms including the insulin feedback pathway that limits the efficacy of agents. Overcoming these responses with careful management of insulin levels is key to successful treatment. The detailed mechanism of how these environmental factors induce carcinogenesis and/or progression of bladder cancer remains unclear. To identify the relationship between the mutations and the lifestyle could be useful for prevention and treatment of bladder cancer.This work presents recent results derived from the rigorous modelling of holographic polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (H-PDLC) gratings. More precisely, the diffractive properties of transmission gratings are the focus of this research. This work extends previous analysis performed by the authors but includes new features and approaches. More precisely, full 3D numerical modelling was carried out in all analyses. Each H-PDLC sample was generated randomly by a set of ellipsoid geometry-based LC droplets. The liquid crystal (LC) director inside each droplet was computed by the minimisation of the Frank elastic free energy as a function of the applied electric field. The analysis carried out considered the effects of Frank elastic constants K11, K22 and K33; the anchoring strength W0; and even the saddle-splay constant K24. The external electric field induced an orientation of the LC director, modifying the optical anisotropy of the optical media. This effect was analysed using the 3D split-field finite-difference time-domain (SF-FDTD) method.

The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has resulted in shortages of nasopharyngeal swabs (NPS) and viral transport media, necessitating the search for alternate diagnostic specimens, such as saliva. We directly compared matched saliva and NPS specimens from symptomatic patients suspected of having COVID-19. An enhanced saliva specimen (i.e., strong sniff, elicited cough, and collection of saliva/secretions) was collected without transport medium prior to collection of NPS from 224 patients with symptoms deemed consistent with COVID-19. Both specimens were tested with the CDC 2019 nCoV real-time RT-PCR diagnostic panel (4 February 2020 version), with the NPS result used as the reference standard. For the 216 patients included in the final analysis, there was 100% positive agreement (38/38 positive specimens) and 99.4% negative agreement (177/178 negative specimens). The one discrepant specimen had the presence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) confirmed in the saliva specimen using an alternate FDA EUA assay. The overall mean difference in cycle threshold (CT ) values for the positive NPS and saliva specimens was -3.61 (95% confidence interval [CI], -5.78 to -1.44; P = 0.002). An enhanced saliva specimen performed as well as NPS for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 in symptomatic patients, although the overall mean viral load in saliva was lower.
GEP-NENs are rare malignancies with increasing incidence. Their molecular characteristics are still undefined. We explored the underlying biology of GEP-NENs and the differences between gastrointestinal (GI) and pancreatic (PNEN), high-grade (HG), and low-grade (LG) tumors.
GEP-NENs were analyzed using next-generation sequencing (NGS; MiSeq on 47 genes, NextSeq on 592 genes), IHC, and
hybridization. Tumor mutational burden (TMB) was calculated on the basis of somatic nonsynonymous missense mutations, and microsatellite instability (MSI) was evaluated by NGS of known MSI loci.

Therefore, these results have raised questions as to whether the exploitation of downstream synthetic lethal vulnerabilities, rather than direct inhibition of mutant IDH1, will prove to be a superior therapeutic strategy. In this review, we summarize the preclinical evidence in gliomas and other models on the induction and persistence of D-2HG-induced hypermethylation of DNA and histones, and we examine emerging lines of evidence related to altered DNA repair mechanisms in mutant IDH tumors and their potential for therapeutic exploitation.

One-third of outpatient antibiotic prescriptions for pediatric acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs) are inappropriate. We evaluated a distance learning program's effectiveness for reducing outpatient antibiotic prescribing for ARTI visits.
In this stepped-wedge clinical trial run from November 2015 to June 2018, we randomly assigned 19 pediatric practices belonging to the Pediatric Research in Office Settings Network or the NorthShore University HealthSystem to 4 wedges. Visits for acute otitis media, bronchitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, and upper respiratory infection for children 6 months to <11 years old without recent antibiotic use were included. Clinicians received the intervention as 3 program modules containing online tutorials and webinars on evidence-based communication strategies and antibioti c prescribing, booster video vignettes, and individualized antibiotic prescribing feedback reports over 11 months. The primary outcome was overall antibiotic prescribing rates for all ARTI visits. Mixed-effects logistic regression compared prescribing rates during each program module and a postintervention period to a baseline control period. Odds ratios were converted to adjusted rate ratios (aRRs) for interpretability.
Among 72 723 ARTI visits by 29 762 patients, intention-to-treat analyses revealed a 7% decrease in the probability of antibiotic prescribing for ARTI overall between the baseline and postintervention periods (aRR 0.93; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.90-0.96). Second-line antibiotic prescribing decreased for streptococcal pharyngitis (aRR 0.66; 95% CI, 0.50-0.87) and sinusitis (aRR 0.59; 95% CI, 0.44-0.77) but not for acute otitis media (aRR 0.93; 95% CI, 0.83-1.03). Any antibiotic prescribing decreased for viral ARTIs (aRR 0.60; 95% CI, 0.51-0.70).

Little is known about the 2% of US children being raised by their grandparents. We sought to characterize and compare grandparent- and parent-headed households with respect to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), child temperament, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and caregiver aggravation and coping.
Using a combined data set of children ages 3 to 17 from the 2016, 2017, and 2018 National Survey of Children's Health, we applied survey regression procedures, adjusted for sociodemographic confounders, to compare grandparent- and parent-headed households on composite and single-item outcome measures of ACEs; ADHD; preschool inattention and restlessness; child temperament; and caregiver aggravation, coping, support, and interactions with children.
Among 80 646 households (2407 grandparent-headed, 78 239 parent-headed), children in grandparent-headed households experienced more ACEs (β = 1.22, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.07 to 1.38). Preschool-aged and school-aged children in grandparent-headed households were more likely to have ADHD (adjusted odds ratio = 4.29, 95% CI 2.22 to 8.28; adjusted odds ratio = 1.72, 95% CI 1.34 to 2.20). School-aged children in these households had poorer temperament (β
= .25, 95% CI -0.63 to 1.14), and their caregivers experienced greater aggravation (β

Diagnosis was defined by a (1) high count of lymphocytes (>8 cells/mm3) and/or high level of proteins (>0.45 g/L) without bacteria/virus or tumor cells detection, in cerebrospinal fluid and (2) normal brain and spine imaging. Patients were followed-up for at least 6 months from the meningitis onset. Seven cases of immune-related meningitis are here reported. Median delay of meningitis occurrence after ICIs onset was 9 days. Steroid treatment was introduced in four patients at a dose of 1 mg/kg (prednisone), allowing a complete recovery within 2 weeks. The other three patients spontaneously improved within 3 weeks. Given the favorable outcome, ICIs were reintroduced in all patients. The rechallenge was well tolerated and no patients experienced meningitis recurrence. In conclusion, in our series, the clinical course was favorable and steroids were not always required. Resuming ICIs in these patients appeared safe and can thus be considered in case of isolated meningitis. However, a careful analysis of the risk/benefit ratio should be done on a case-by-case basis.

We performed body composition analysis using Slice-o-matic software on pretreatment CT scans to quantify skeletal muscle index (SMI=skeletal muscle area/height ), skeletal muscle density (SMD), skeletal muscle gauge (SMG=SMI × SMD), and total adipose tissue index (TATI=subcutaneous adipose tissue area + visceral adipose tissue area/height ) of each patient at the third lumbar vertebrae. We then correlated these measures to response, progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and toxicity.
