    A Delphi survey was co-designed with patients and clinical stakeholders using an evidence synthesis of current guidelines and content from frameworks and theories of shared decision-making, communication and medicine adherence. Patients with osteoporosis and/or fragility fractures, their carers, FLS clinicians and osteoporosis specialists were sent three rounds of the Delphi survey. Participants were presented wihe first time patient/carer and clinician consensus regarding clearly defined tasks for clinicians in a model FLS consultation.

  • Along with the developments in techniques for genome study, our understanding of its sequences has completely changed. The non-coding sequences of the human genome are no longer considered as "junk" but are rather known to be the source of high-functioning molecules. Some of the most fascinating transcripts in this regard are long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) ___RNA molecules that exceed 200 nucleotides and are not transcribed from protein-coding regions of the genome. These transcripts are capable of gene regulation by various mechanisms, from epigenetic changes and chromosomal arrangements to post-transcription modulation of messenger RNAs. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/pu-h71.html Furthermore, lncRNAs interact with other non-coding transcripts such as microRNAs that further affects gene expression. Considering the fact that cancer is a disease of deregulated expression, recent studies have identified lncRNAs acting as either oncogene or tumor suppressor in a wide range of human malignancies. Head and neck cancer (HNC), with a high incidence rate and unfavorable survival, is no exception in this matter and many investigations have introduced lncRNAs involved in its tumor progression and drug response, as well as those acting as promising diagnostic or prognostic markers. The present study reviews the vital regulatory roles of lncRNAs and further introduces their role in progression of HNC subtypes.It has been previously demonstrated by our group that genetic inhibition of thioredoxin-interacting-protein (TXNIP) preserved retinal neuronal function in chemically-induced retinopathy. Moreover, elevated intracellular levels of TXNIP and calcium ions play important roles in hyperglycemia-induced oxidative stress and inflammation. Current study aimed to appraise the potential therapeutic benefits of pharmacological inhibition of TXNIP using verapamil in diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy was assessed in type-1 diabetes rat model induced by a single intravenous injection of streptozotocin (45 mg/kg), with or without daily treatment with verapamil (10 mg/kg, oral) for 4 months. Verapamil treatment commenced 48 h post-streptozotocin insult and continued for 16 weeks. Untreated diabetic rats exhibited higher expression of toll-like-receptor-4 (TLR4), TXNIP, nucleotide-binding domain-like receptor protein-3 (NLRP3), caspase-1, cytochrome-c, and ssDNA as assessed immunohistochemically in both retinal and pancreatic tissues 16 weeks post-diabetes induction. This was associated with a reduced thioredoxin reductase (Trx-R) activity, increased release of TNF-α and IL-1β into vitreous fluid along with retinal ganglion cell (RGC) loss, pancreatic islets shrinkage, and enhanced CD34 expression. The treatment with verapamil enhanced Trx-R activity, significantly inhibited TLR4 mediated NLRP3-inflammasome assembly with subsequent diminishing of inflammatory markers (TNF-α and IL-1β) release into the vitreous, suppression of pathological angiogenesis, and preservation of RGC count and pancreatic islets diameter. Current study showed that using the calcium channel blocker, verapamil, interferes with the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy and pancreatic islets damage at multiple levels mainly through the inhibition of TLR4, TXNIP and NLRP3-inflammasome, suggesting its promising role as an anti-diabetic and a neuroprotective agent.Behavior toward appetitive stimuli can be changed by motor response training procedures in which participants approach or respond to some stimuli and avoid or inhibit behavior to other stimuli. There is discussion in the literature whether effects are different when participants approach versus avoid stimuli during approach-avoidance training compared to when they respond versus not respond to stimuli during go/no-go training. Here, we directly compared effects of approach-avoidance training and go/no-go training on food choice within the same rigorous experimental protocol. Results showed that both training procedures influence food choice such that participants preferred Approach over Avoidance food items, and Go over NoGo food items, and these training effects were not statistically different. The present work suggests any inconsistencies in the literature on possible differences in effectiveness of these training procedures may be explained by differences in methods employed. The present work also raises new theoretical and applied questions about motor response training as a means to change behavior.This study examined gender differences in the association between childhood maltreatment and disordered eating attitudes and behaviors in adulthood. Data were derived from 1647 adults (ages 27-33) participating in a population-based, longitudinal study (Project EAT-IV Eating Among Teens and Young Adults, 1998-2016). Childhood maltreatment (sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, emotional neglect) and disordered eating attitudes and behaviors (overeating, binge eating, extreme weight control behaviors, unhealthy weight control behaviors, chronic dieting, weight and shape concerns) were assessed. Relative risk regression models were used to examine whether childhood maltreatment was related to individual disordered eating attitudes and behaviors. Gender differences in these associations were explored. A history of any childhood maltreatment was associated with more than 60% greater risk for chronic dieting and overeating, with additional associations found for binge eating, weight and shape concerns, and unhealthy weight control behaviors. All types of abuse and neglect were associated with at least one type of disordered eating outcome. Examination of the point estimates indicated that emotional neglect was most consistently related to higher risk for disordered eating attitudes and behaviors. Although there were no statistically significant gender differences in the association between childhood maltreatment and disordered eating attitudes and behaviors, the patterning of these effects highlighted unique qualitative similarities and differences in these relationships between men and women. Taken together, these findings implicate childhood maltreatment, particularly emotional neglect, as a meaningful risk factor for problematic eating outcomes in both men and women during adulthood.

  • We believe these obtained results can provide ideas to design optical isolators and optical switches.Phase imaging is an important measurement method in optical metrology, and phase extraction is one of its essential components. A method using one-frame dual-wavelength interferometry (DWI) for fast phase extraction is proposed. Using this method, the Hilbert transform (HT) is applied twice to a wavelength-multiplexed interferogram to obtain two images. The HT is then applied twice to the sum of the squares of these two images. The synthetic wavelength phase can then be obtained. Compared with other common multiple-frame DWI methods, the proposed approach requires only one multiplexed interferogram and does not have to consider parameter changes in interferograms of different frames. Furthermore, the proposed method was determined to require the least calculation time, and the simulation and experimental results confirmed its high accuracy and efficiency. It suggests that the proposed method is suitable for real-time measurements.We consider a whispering gallery mode (WGM) sensor where a dielectric perturber extends into the evanescent tail of the microresonator. The position of the perturber rather than the morphology of the resonator is modified by a change in the measured property, inducing a shift in the WGM. This approach can be used for both three-dimensional (spheres, toroids) and planar (disks, rings) resonator geometries. We demonstrate, through analysis and experiments, the feasibility of this sensor approach for both geometries by using a sphere resonator and an on-chip ring resonator. Experiments show that the motion of the perturber across the evanescent tail on the resonator's outer surface leads to a measurable shift in the resonator WGM. In the latter experiment, a ferromagnetic structure is attached to the perturber stem so that the system acts as a magnetic field detector. The results show a consistent relationship between the mode shift and the magnetic field strength.In this work, we present a fiber sensor designed to measure simultaneously spatial inhomogeneities of the refractive index and temperature in liquid media, for example, induced by biochemical reactions. The sensor's constituent elements are Fabry-Perot microresonators fabricated in standard single-mode optical fibers by diamond blade dicing. To allow simultaneous measurements of different refractive indices, the sensor comprises two open cavities approximately 2 mm apart. With a small Si inlay inserted into one of the resonators used for temperature measurements, the sensor allows for immediate compensation of crosstalk between temperature- and composition-induced fluids' refractive index changes. The measurements were evaluated by phase tracking of the characteristic Fourier transform components of the sensor's backreflected spectra. In recent years, mobile medical systems have gradually become more prevalent in medical and health system environments. In this paper, we propose a design method for a smartphone fundus camera consisting of an illumination system and an imaging system. The end of the system can be combined with a smartphone to take the fundus images directly. We manufactured a prototype, designed an artificial eye model, and carried out a series of experiments. The results show that we can get fundus images clearly, and the imaging system will be able to correct refractive errors ranging from -8D∼+8D. The spatial resolution of the system is up to 15 µm. This is a portable device with an overall size of 160mm×160mm×80mm and a weight of 540 g. It has the advantages of lower price, simple operation, high resolution, and compact size, making it suitable as a portable ocular monitoring device.In this paper, nanoscale pores in silicon layers are exploited to model and optimize a one-dimensional hybrid graphene-porous silicon photonic crystal biosensor. The physical nature of the proposed sensor is based on Tamm resonance. The transfer matrix method is applied to detect the change of the index of refraction in an aqueous solution. The proposed model is (PSi1/PSi2) N /G/Substrate, in which PSi1 and PSi2 are porous silicon layers with different porosities, N is the number of periods, and G is the number of graphene layers. The numerical simulations show that the proposed sensor has good performance. The variation of the number of periods, number of graphene layers, porosities, thicknesses of silicon layers, incident angles, and the sample layer thickness affect the performance of the sensor. By varying these parameters, the sensitivity and figure of merit of the sensor can be controlled. The study shows that the sensitivity and figure of merit of the proposed sensor reach 4.75 THz/RIU and 475RIU-1, respectively. The proposed sensor has a good capability in biological detection within terahertz. A method using one-frame dual-wavelength interferometry (DWI) for fast phase extraction is proposed. Using this method, the Hilbert transform (HT) is applied twice to a wavelength-multiplexed interferogram to obtain two images. The HT is then applied twice to the sum of the squares of these two images. The synthetic wavelength phase can then be obtained. Compared with other common multiple-frame DWI methods, the proposed approach requires only one multiplexed interferogram and does not have to consider parameter changes in interferograms of different frames. Furthermore, the proposed method was determined to require the least calculation time, and the simulation and experimental results confirmed its high accuracy and efficiency. In this paper, we propose a design method for a smartphone fundus camera consisting of an illumination system and an imaging system. The end of the system can be combined with a smartphone to take the fundus images directly. We manufactured a prototype, designed an artificial eye model, and carried out a series of experiments. The results show that we can get fundus images clearly, and the imaging system will be able to correct refractive errors ranging from -8D∼+8D. The spatial resolution of the system is up to 15 µm.     We describe a unique case of a 30-year-old woman who developed cardiomyopathy in the peripartum period which was revealed on cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging to be due to occult LVNC. Our patient also had Ebstein's anomaly, which is a known LVNC association.

A subset of COVID-19 patients present with ST-elevations on electrocardiogram (ECG) yet normal coronary angiography, a presentation that can fit criteria for myocardial infarction with no obstructive coronary atherosclerosis (MINOCA). There is little known about non-coronary myocardial injury observed in patients with COVID-19, and we present a case that should encourage further conversation and study of this clinical challenge.

Faculty and staff noted significant efficiencies and improvements in the process when using the SOAP tool kit. Applicants indicated that the process was more organized than other residency programs they interacted with during the SOAP week. We anticipate that the use of the documents in the SOAP tool kit will help other training programs improve their performance during the SOAP process.

    A total of 8 male cyclists attended 6 laboratory visits for familiarization, determination of time to peak blood bicarbonate, and 4 × 4-km cycling TTs. Experimental beverages were administered doubleblind. Treatments were conducted in a block-randomized, crossover order intermittent warm-up + NaHCO3 (IWSB), intermittent warm-up + placebo, control warm-up + NaHCO3 (CWSB), and control warm-up + placebo (CWP). The intermittent warm-up comprised exercise corresponding to lactate threshold (5min at 50%, 2min at 60%, 2min at 80%, 1min at 100%, and 2min at 50%) and 3 × 10-second maximal sprints. The control warm-up comprised 16.5minutes cycling at 150W. Participants ingested 0.3g·kg body mass-1 NaHCO3 or 0.03g·kg body mass-1 sodium chloride (placebo) in 5mL·kg body mass-1 fluid (32, water and sugar-free orange squash). Paired t tests were conducted for TT performance. Hematological data (blood bicarbonate and blood lactate) and gastrointestinal discomfort were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance.

    Rating of perceived exertion (RPE) is a widely used tool to assess subjective perception of effort during exercise. The authors investigated between-subject variation and effect of exercise mode and sex on Borg RPE (6-20) in relation to heart rate (HR), oxygen uptake (VO2), and capillary blood lactate concentrations.

    A total of 160 elite endurance athletes performed a submaximal and maximal test protocol either during cycling (n = 84, 37 women) or running (n = 76, 32 women). The submaximal test consisted of 4 to 7 progressive 5-minute steps within ∼50% to 85% of maximal VO2. For each step, steady-state HR, VO2, and capillary blood lactate concentrations were assessed and RPE reported. An incremental protocol to exhaustion was used to determine maximal VO2 and peak HR to provide relative (%) HR and VO2 values at submaximal work rates.

    A strong relationship was found between RPE and %HR, %VO2, and capillary blood lactate concentrations (r = .80-.82, all Ps < .05). The between-subject coefficient of variation (SD/mean) for %HR and %VO2 decreased linearly with increased RPE, from ∼10% to 15% at RPE 8 to ∼5% at RPE 17. Compared with cycling, running induced a systematically higher %HR and %VO2 (∼2% and 5%, respectively, P < .05) with these differences being greater at lower intensities (RPE < 13). Treatments were conducted in a block-randomized, crossover order intermittent warm-up + NaHCO3 (IWSB), intermittent warm-up + placebo, control warm-up + NaHCO3 (CWSB), and control warm-up + placebo (CWP). The intermittent warm-up comprised exercise corresponding to lactate threshold (5min at 50%, 2min at 60%, 2min at 80%, 1min at 100%, and 2min at 50%) and 3 × 10-second maximal sprints. The control warm-up comprised 16.5minutes cycling at 150W. Participants ingested 0.3g·kg body mass-1 NaHCO3 or 0.03g·kg body mass-1 sodium chloride (placebo) in 5mL·kg body mass-1 fluid (32, water and sugar-free orange squash). Paired t tests were conducted for TT performance. Hematological data (blood bicarbonate and blood lactate) and gastrointestinal discomfort were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Performance was faster for CWSB versus IWSB (5.0 [6.1]s; P = .052) and CWP (5.8 [6.0]s; P = .03). Pre-TT bicarbonate concentration was elevated for CWSB versus IWSB (+9.3mmol·L-1; P < .001) and CWP (+7.1mmol·L-1; P < .001). Post-TT blood lactate concentration was elevated for CWSB versus CWP (+2.52mmol·L-1; P = .022). Belching was exacerbated pre-warm-up for IWSB versus intermittent warm-up +placebo (P = .046) and CWP (P = .027). Rating of perceived exertion (RPE) is a widely used tool to assess subjective perception of effort during exercise. The authors investigated between-subject variation and effect of exercise mode and sex on Borg RPE (6-20) in relation to heart rate (HR), oxygen uptake (VO2), and capillary blood lactate concentrations. A total of 160 elite endurance athletes performed a submaximal and maximal test protocol either during cycling (n = 84, 37 women) or running (n = 76, 32 women). The submaximal test consisted of 4 to 7 progressive 5-minute steps within ∼50% to 85% of maximal VO2. For each step, steady-state HR, VO2, and capillary blood lactate concentrations were assessed and RPE reported. An incremental protocol to exhaustion was used to determine maximal VO2 and peak HR to provide relative (%) HR and VO2 values at submaximal work rates. A strong relationship was found between RPE and %HR, %VO2, and capillary blood lactate concentrations (r = .80-.82, all Ps < .05). The between-subject coefficient of variation (SD/mean) for %HR and %VO2 decreased linearly with increased RPE, from ∼10% to 15% at RPE 8 to ∼5% at RPE 17. Compared with cycling, running induced a systematically higher %HR and %VO2 (∼2% and 5%, respectively, P < .05) with these differences being greater at lower intensities (RPE < 13). At the same RPE, women showed a trivial, but significantly higher %HR and %VO2 than men (<1%, P < .05). Among elite endurance athletes, exercise mode influenced RPE at a given %HR and %VO2, with greater differences at lower exercise intensities. In this review we summarize and update the "classical roles" of FXR as a central integrator of the feeding state response, which orchestrates the metabolic processing of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and bile acids. We also discuss more recent and less well studied FXR effects on amino acid, protein metabolism, autophagic turnover and inflammation. In addition, we summarize the recent understanding of how FXR signaling is affected by posttranslational modifications and by different FXR isoforms. This review serves as a useful and updated compendium of the completed human clinical investigations for several oncolytic viruses in the treatment of gliomas.
    Based on favourable outcomes in clinical trials, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), most notably programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) inhibitors, are now widely used across multiple cancer types. However, due to their strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, clinical studies often do not address challenges presented by non-trial populations.

    This review summarises available data on the efficacy and safety of ICIs in trial-ineligible patients, including those with autoimmune disease, chronic viral infections, organ transplants, organ dysfunction, poor performance status, and brain metastases, as well as the elderly, children, and those who are pregnant. In addition, we review data concerning other real-world challenges with ICIs, including timing of therapy switch, relationships to radiotherapy or surgery, re-treatment after an immune-related toxicity, vaccinations in patients on ICIs, and current experience around ICI and coronavirus disease-19. Where possks and benefits. Clinical judgements need to be carefully weighed, considering factors such as underlying cancer type, feasibility of alternative treatment options, or activity in trial-eligible patients.
    Patients with resected stage III and IV melanoma have a high risk of recurrence.   • This optimal method is not new but is different from those currently dominating research in this area.The coronavirus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-CoV-2, responsible for the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, has emphasized the need for a better understanding of the evolution of virus-host interactions. ORF3a in both SARS-CoV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 are ion channels (viroporins) implicated in virion assembly and membrane budding. Using sensitive profile-based homology detection methods, we unify the SARS-CoV ORF3a family with several families of viral proteins, including ORF5 from MERS-CoVs, proteins from beta-CoVs (ORF3c), alpha-CoVs (ORF3b), most importantly, the Matrix (M) proteins from CoVs, and more distant homologs from other nidoviruses. We present computational evidence that these viral families might utilize specific conserved polar residues to constitute an aqueous pore within the membrane-spanning region. We reconstruct an evolutionary history of these families and objectively establish the common origin of the M proteins of CoVs and Toroviruses.     Shoulder instability injuries are common in sports involving collisions and overhead movements. Arthroscopic Bankart repair and the open Latarjet are two commonly used surgical stabilisation procedures. There is a lack of knowledge surrounding movement strategies, joint loading and muscle strength after each of these procedures. This study will compare (1) shoulder joint neuromechanics during activities of daily living and an overhead sporting task; (2) shoulder range of motion; (3) shoulder strength; and (4) self-reported shoulder function and health status, between individuals who have undergone an arthroscopic Bankart repair versus open Latarjet.

    This is a prospective cohort, single-centre, non-randomised parallel arm study of surgical interventions for athletic shoulder instability injuries. Thirty participants will be recruited. Of these, 20 will have experienced one or more traumatic shoulder instability injuries requiring surgical stabilisation-and will undergo an arthroscopic Bankart repair or open Latarjet procedure. The remaining 10 participants will have no history of shoulder instability injury and act as controls. Participants will undergo baseline testing and be followed up at 3, 6 and 12 months. A two-way (group×time) analysis of variance with repeated measures on one factor (ie, time) will compare each outcome measure between groups across time points.

    This study was approved by the Barwon Health and Deakin University Human Research Ethics Committees. Outcomes will be disseminated through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at relevant scientific conferences.

    To critically appraise the quality of published systematic reviews (SRs) of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) in tendinopathy with regard to handling and reporting of results with special emphasis on strength of evidence assessment.

    Medline from inception to June 2020.

    All SRs of RCTs assessing the effectiveness of any intervention(s) on any location of tendinopathy.

    Included SRs were appraised with the use of a 12-item tool devised by the authors arising from the Preferred Reporting Items in Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement and other relevant guidance. Subgroup analyses were performed based on impact factor (IF) of publishing journals and date of publication.

    A total of 57 SRs were included published in 38 journals between 2006 and 2020. The most commonly used risk-of-bias (RoB) assessment tool and strength of evidence assessment tool were the Cochrane Collaboration RoB tool and the Cochrane Collaboration **** Review Group tool, respectively. The mean score on the appraisal tool was 46.5% (range 0%-100%). SRs published in higher IF journals (>4.7) were associated with a higher mean score than those in lower IF journals (mean difference 26.4%±8.8%, p=0.004). The mean score of the 10 most recently published SRs was similar to that of the first 10 published SRs (mean difference 8.3%±13.7%, p=0.54). Only 23 SRs (40%) used the results of their RoB assessment in data synthesis and more than half (n=30; 50%) did not assess the strength of evidence of their results. Only 12 SRs (21%) assessed their strength of evidence appropriately.

    In light of the poor presentation of evidence identified by our review, we provide recommendations to increase transparency and reproducibility in future SRs.

Here we introduce polymer nanomaterials that are potent inhibitors of ice recrystallisation using polymerisation-induced self-assembly (PISA), employing a poly(vinyl alcohol) graft macromolecular chain transfer agent (macro-CTA). Crucially, engineering the core-forming block with diacetone acrylamide enabled PISA to be conducted in saline, whereas poly(2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate) cores led to coagulation. The most active particles inhibited ice growth as low as 0.5 mg mL-1, and were more active than the PVA stabiliser block alone, showing that the dense packing of this nanoparticle format enhanced activity. This provides a unique route towards colloids capable of modulating ice growth.

Of these, 20 will have experienced one or more traumatic shoulder instability injuries requiring surgical stabilisation-and will undergo an arthroscopic Bankart repair or open Latarjet procedure. The remaining 10 participants will have no history of shoulder instability injury and act as controls. Participants will undergo baseline testing and be followed up at 3, 6 and 12 months. A two-way (group×time) analysis of variance with repeated measures on one factor (ie, time) will compare each outcome measure between groups across time points. To critically appraise the quality of published systematic reviews (SRs) of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) in tendinopathy with regard to handling and reporting of results with special emphasis on strength of evidence assessment. Medline from inception to June 2020. All SRs of RCTs assessing the effectiveness of any intervention(s) on any location of tendinopathy. Included SRs were appraised with the use of a 12-item tool devised by the authors arising from the Preferred Reporting Items in Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement and other relevant guidance. Subgroup analyses were performed based on impact factor (IF) of publishing journals and date of publication. A total of 57 SRs were included published in 38 journals between 2006 and 2020. The most commonly used risk-of-bias (RoB) assessment tool and strength of evidence assessment tool were the Cochrane Collaboration RoB tool and the Cochrane Collaboration Back Review Group tool, respectively. The mean score on the appraisal tool was 46.5% (range 0%-100%). SRs published in higher IF journals (>4.7) were associated with a higher mean score than those in lower IF journals (mean difference 26.4%±8.8%, p=0.004). The mean score of the 10 most recently published SRs was similar to that of the first 10 published SRs (mean difference 8.3%±13.7%, p=0.54). Only 23 SRs (40%) used the results of their RoB assessment in data synthesis and more than half (n=30; 50%) did not assess the strength of evidence of their results. Only 12 SRs (21%) assessed their strength of evidence appropriately. In light of the poor presentation of evidence identified by our review, we provide recommendations to increase transparency and reproducibility in future SRs. Crucially, engineering the core-forming block with diacetone acrylamide enabled PISA to be conducted in saline, whereas poly(2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate) cores led to coagulation. The most active particles inhibited ice growth as low as 0.5 mg mL-1, and were more active than the PVA stabiliser block alone, showing that the dense packing of this nanoparticle format enhanced activity. We observe that increases in digital data stream activity anticipate increases in confirmed cases and deaths by 2 to 3 weeks. Confirmed cases and deaths also decrease 2 to 4 weeks after NPI implementation, as measured by anonymized, phone-derived human mobility data. We propose a means of harmonizing these data streams to identify future COVID-19 outbreaks. It increases the level of detail in histological analyses by enabling the systematic annotation of nuanced cell populations, spatial patterns of transcription, and interactions between cell types. We demonstrate the utility of STvEA by uncovering the architecture of poorly characterized cell types in the murine spleen using published cytometry and mIHC data of this organ.Non-tuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease may have different clinical manifestations. Initially, she was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia, but after being submitted to an extensive investigation, including CT-guided transthoracic lung biopsy, a diagnosis of organising pneumonia (OP) was established. The patient was treated with corticosteroids with no favourable response. Subsequently, Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) was identified in bronchoalveolar lavage culture. The patient was diagnosed with OP secondary to ****infection and specific antibiotic treatment was initiated. This case represents an infrequent association and illustrates how important it is to investigate primary causes of OP to obtain a satisfactory treatment response.

Hypertrophy of unaffected cardiomyocytes correlated with severity of MWT (p < 0.0001, Sperman r 0,95). Hypertrophy of unaffected myocytes appear to concur to progression and severity of FDCM. It is likely a paracrine role from neighboring affected myocytes.

    Large international humanitarian actors support and directly deliver health services for millions of people in crises annually, and wield considerable power to decide which health services to provide, how and to whom, across a vast spectrum of health areas. Despite decades of reform aiming to improve accountability in the sector, public health practice among humanitarian actors is not heavily scrutinized in either the countries where they are headquartered or those where they provide healthcare. We surveyed current healthcare governance practice among large international humanitarian actors to better understand what organisations are doing to ensure oversight and accountability for health services in humanitarian responses.
