Armenia has been in a conflict with its neighbor, Azerbaijan, since 1988. Civilians in Tavush Province are regularly affected by ceasefire violations along the armed border with recent escalations further threatening the population's safety. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns regarding the mental health of border village residents in Armenia are prevalent. We present context-related factors of psychiatric illness, the prevalence of mental health disorders, and the state of mental health services in Armenia. We recommend directing greater attention towards the mental health status of civilians residing in conflict zones during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Domestic violence (DV) by husbands or in-laws is a recognized problem in many countries and is associated with a wide range of adverse mental health outcomes. A cross-sectional survey was conducted from October to December 2019 among 497 mothers within the first 6months postpartum who attended a health center in Rajshahi City Corporation, Bangladesh. Multivariable logistic regressions were performed to identify the associations after controlling for potential confounders.
The prevalence of PPD in this sample was 34% within the first 6months after birth; 58.6% of mothers reported having experienced any form of DV in their lifetime. Maternal experience of any form of DV (Adjusted Odds Ratio [AOR] = 1.87; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.19-2.93) was associated with PPD, as were experiences of any physical DV (AOR = 2.25; 95% CI = 1.40-3.59), emotional DV (AOR = 2.07; 95% CI = 1.34-3.19), and controlling behavior (AOR = 1.69; 95% CI = 1.08-2.66). Additionally, the likelihood of PPD significantly increased among women who experienced more forms of DV.

The present study examined the prospective association of neuroticism, extraversion and psychoticism with risk of hospital diagnosed mental disorder, examining intelligence as a potential confounder of this association.
A total of 1118 Danish men and women completed the Eysenck personality questionnaire at the mean age of 27years. Information on psychiatric diagnoses was obtained by linking the study population to the national Danish psychiatric registers, and risk of diagnoses associated with each personality trait was examined using multiple Cox regression in models including the three personality traits unadjusted and adjusted for intelligence. Participants with diagnosis from a psychiatric department prior to the personality assessment were excluded.
In total, 122 participants were diagnosed with a mental disorder during follow-up. Neuroticism significantly predicted risk of anxiety-, adjustment-, personality- and alcohol and substance abuse diagnoses. Extraversion did not significantly predict any diagnosis type, while psychoticism predicted a combined category of mood and anxiety diagnoses. Despite intelligence being a significant predictor of the majority of the included diagnoses, adjusting for intelligence did not substantially influence any trait-disorder associations.
The results confirm high neuroticism as a prospective vulnerability factor for mental disorder and indicate high psychoticism to be a potential risk factor for mood and anxiety disorders. These associations are not confounded by intelligence.

Studies have reported children born by caesarean section are more likely to have lower cognitive outcomes compared to those born by vaginal delivery. This paper reviews the literature examining caesarean birth and offspring cognitive outcomes.
A systematic search for observational studies or case-control studies that compared cognitive outcomes of people born by caesarean section with those born by vaginal delivery was conducted in six databases (Medline, PubMed, EMBASE, PsychInfo, CINAHL, Web of Science) from inception until December 2019 according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Studies were assessed for quality and a narrative synthesis was undertaken considering the evidence for a causal relationship according to the Bradford Hill Criteria.
A total of seven studies were identified. Of these, four found a significant association between elective and emergency caesarean birth and reduction in offspring cognitive performance as measured by g variables and (c) have valid outcome measures of cognition.
Although patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection have several risk factors for ventilator-associated lower respiratory tract infections (VA-LRTI), the reported incidence of hospital-acquired infections is low. We aimed to determine the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia, as compared to influenza pneumonia or no viral infection, and the incidence of VA-LRTI.
Multicenter retrospective European cohort performed in 36 ICUs. All adult patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation > 48h were eligible if they had SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia, influenza pneumonia, or no viral infection at ICU admission. VA-LRTI, including ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis (VAT) and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), were diagnosed using clinical, radiological and quantitative microbiological criteria. All VA-LRTI were prospectively identified, and chest-X rays were analyzed by at least two physicians. Cumulative incidence of first episodes of VA-LRTI was estimated using the Kalbfleisch and Prentice method, and compared using Fine-and Gray models.

By evaluating headache response to analgesics, old age, diabetes, hypertension, primary headache, severe COVID-19, steroid intake, higher CRP and ferritin and lower hemoglobin levels were associated with poor response to analgesics. Multivariate analysis revealed that primary headache, steroids intake, moderate and severe COVID-19 were independent predictors of non-response to analgesics.

In this study, we investigated the effects of oregano essential oil (OEO) on intestinal antioxidative capacity, immunity, and gut microbiota of young yellow-feathered chickens. A total of nine hundred and sixty 1-d-old female Qingyuan partridge chickens were randomly allocated to four treatment groups with six replicates of 40 birds each, and the feeding trial was lasted for 30 d. The controls were fed on a basal diet without in-feed antibiotics; the birds in the antibiotic group were fed the basal diet supplemented with 20 mg/kg virginiamycin; the remaining birds were fed the basal diet containing 150 or 300 mg/kg OEO, respectively. Dietary supplementation with 150 or 300 mg/kg OEO increased average daily feed intake (P = 0.057) and average daily gain (P less then 0.05). The activities of glutathione peroxidase and total antioxidative capacity in plasma, jejuna, and ileal mucosa were increased by OEO supplementation (P less then 0.05), with a trend of lower jejunal content of malonaldehyde (P = 0.062). Moreover, dietary OEO increased the content of secretory immunoglobulin A (P = 0.078) and the relative expression of Claudin 1, Mucin 2, and Avain beta-defensin 1 in ileum (P less then 0.05). Sequencing data of 16S rRNA indicated that dietary OEO increased the relative abundance of Firmicutes phylum, and Clostridium and Lactobacillus genera, and decreasing that of Romboutsia. Functional analyses indicated that microbial amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism, replication, and repair systems were higher in OEO groups than those of controls and antibiotic treatment. Four of the acr genes were broad spectrum, also inhibiting I-E or I-F P. aeruginosa CRISPR-Cas subtypes. Dual inhibition comes at a cost, however, as simultaneous expression of Type I-C and I-F systems renders phages expressing the dual inhibitor AcrIF2 more sensitive to targeting. Mutagenesis of numerous acidic residues in AcrIF2 did not impair anti-I-C or anti-I-F function per se but did exacerbate inhibition defects during competition, suggesting that excess negative charge may buffer DNA mimics against competition. Like AcrIF2, five of the Acr proteins block Cascade from binding DNA, while two function downstream, likely preventing Cas3 recruitment or activity. One such inhibitor, AcrIC3, is found in an 'anti-Cas3' cluster within conjugative elements, encoded alongside bona fide Cas3 inhibitors AcrIF3 and AcrIE1. Our findings demonstrate an active battle between an MGE-encoded CRISPR-Cas system and its diverse MGE targets.A set of >300 nonredundant high-resolution RNA-protein complexes were rigorously searched for π-contacts between an amino acid side chain (W, H, F, Y, R, E and D) and an RNA nucleobase (denoted π-π interaction) or ribose moiety (denoted sugar-π). The resulting dataset of >1500 RNA-protein π-contacts were visually inspected and classified based on the interaction type, and amino acids and RNA components involved. More than 80% of structures searched contained at least one RNA-protein π-interaction, with π-π contacts making up 59% of the identified interactions. RNA-protein π-π and sugar-π contacts exhibit a range in the RNA and protein components involved, relative monomer orientations and quantum mechanically predicted binding energies. Interestingly, π-π and sugar-π interactions occur more frequently with RNA (4.8 contacts/structure) than DNA (2.6). Moreover, the maximum stability is greater for RNA-protein contacts than DNA-protein interactions. In addition to highlighting distinct differences between RNA and DNA-protein binding, this work has generated the largest dataset of RNA-protein π-interactions to date, thereby underscoring that RNA-protein π-contacts are ubiquitous in nature, and key to the stability and function of RNA-protein complexes.

Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DbCM) is a major complication in type-1 diabetes, accompanied by altered cardiac energetics, impaired mitochondrial function, and oxidative stress. Previous studies indicate that type-1 diabetes is associated with increased cardiac expression of KLF5 (Krüppel-like factor-5) and PPARα (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor) that regulate cardiac lipid metabolism.
In this study, we investigated the involvement of KLF5 in DbCM and its transcriptional regulation.
KLF5 mRNA levels were assessed in isolated cardiomyocytes from cardiovascular patients with diabetes and were higher compared with nondiabetic individuals. The results demonstrated the great ability of MOF toward the extraction of tested FQs with a breakdown point of 1200 ng mL-1 for each analyte in their mixed solution. This review aims to present an overview of advances in the preparation and application of CMIPs in analytical approaches in different available formats (eg. column, monolithic column, cartridge, membrane, nanomaterials, pipette tip and stir bar sorptive) over the last decade. In addition, progress in the preparation and development of CMIPs-based sensor fields have been also discussed. To minimize the existing drawbacks, a new micro-method of sterols and squalene determination in cyanobacteria was developed and applied to monitor their production of Phormidium autumnale cultured heterotrophically. Sample extraction/saponification and GC analysis of the target compounds were optimized separately using Plackett-Burman design (PB) followed by a central composite rotational design (CCRD). The most influential variables were identified to maximize compound recovery. Chloroform presented the highest capability to extract all target compounds with a horizontal shaker table (HST) for homogenization in the saponification step. For the pretreatment, a small amount of chloroform was used for 90 min at 50 °C and 6 min for the saponification time. The sample introduction in the GC injector was studied by evaluating pressure and injector temperature. High response for sterols and squalene were obtained between 19 and 23 psi and at 310 °C of injection temperature. Chagas disease (CD) as neglected secondary form of suspected coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD).
Comparison of patients with CMD related to CD (CMD-CE) versus patients with CMD caused by other etiologies (CMD-OE).
Of 1292 stable patients referred for invasive coronary angiography to elucidate the hemodynamic pattern and the cause of angina as a cardinal symptom in their medical history, 247 presented normal epicardial coronary arteries and 101 were included after strict exclusion criteria. Of those, 15 had suspected CMD-CE, and their clinical, hemodynamic, angiographic and scintigraphic characteristics were compared to those of the other 86 patients with suspected CDM-OE. Level of significance for all comparisons was p < 0.05.
Patients with suspected CMD-CE showed most anthropometric, clinical, angiographic hemodynamic and myocardial perfusion abnormalities that were statistically similar to those detected in the remaining 86 patients with suspected CMD-OE. LV diastolic dysfunction, expressedr disease in 15% of 101 stable patients whose cardinal symptom was anginal pain warranting coronary angiography. Although sharing several clinical, hemodynamic, and myocardial perfusion characteristics with patients whose suspected CMD was due to other etiologies, impairment of LV segmental and global systolic function was significantly more severe in the patients with suspected CMD related to Chagas cardiomyopathy. This is a retrospective descriptive study that was performed in the period from 2010 to 2015 from data recorded in the computerized system of the Hematology and Hemotherapy Center of Ceará (HEMOCE in Portuguese).
Of the 763,731 potential blood donors, 14,159 were serologically ineligible; 1,982 (0.33%) were serologically ineligible due to positive / inconclusive diagnosis for CD. A total of 425 individuals came to the HEMOCE to repeat the test, with 28.2% (120/425) declared ineligible for donations due to CD.

Studies have shown that heart failure (HF) patients with heart rate (HR) < 70 bpm have had a better clinical outcome and lower morbidity and mortality compared with those with HR > 70 bpm. However, many HF patients maintain an elevated HR.
To evaluate HR and the prescription of medications known to reduce mortality in HF patients attending an outpatient cardiology clinic.
We consecutively evaluated patients seen in an outpatient cardiology clinic, aged older than 18 years, with diagnosis of HF and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) < 45%. Patients with sinus rhythm were divided into two groups - HR ≤ 70 bpm (G1) and HR > 70 bpm (G2). The Student's t-test and the chi-square test were used in the statistical analysis, and a p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. The SPSS software was used for the analyses.
A total of 212 consecutive patients were studied; 41 (19.3%) had atrial fibrillation or had a pacemaker implanted and were excluded from the analysis, yielding s of ACEI and ARB were adequate in most of patients.

Comparison of patients with CMD related to CD (CMD-CE) versus patients with CMD caused by other etiologies (CMD-OE). Of 1292 stable patients referred for invasive coronary angiography to elucidate the hemodynamic pattern and the cause of angina as a cardinal symptom in their medical history, 247 presented normal epicardial coronary arteries and 101 were included after strict exclusion criteria. Renal oncocytoma is a benign renal tumor originated from intercalated cells of collecting ducts like chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The differential diagnosis of these 2 tumors is important because while they are histologically and cytologically similar, they show different biological behavior. S100A1 is the first defined member of the calcium-binding S100 protein family and it organizes several cellular functions including cell cycle progression and cell differentiation.CD82 is a tetraspanin membrane protein, which functions as a metastasis supressor. In this study, we immunohistochemically investigated the expressions of CK7, S100A1, and CD82 in 30 chromophobe RCC (23 classic and 7 eosinophilic variant) and 19 oncocytomas. LncRNAs can also regulate the progression of EC through epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT), which is closely related to the occurrence, development, and prognosis of EC. Epidemiologists have consistently observed associations between prepregnancy obesity and spina bifida in offspring. Most studies, however, used self-reported body mass index (potential for exposure misclassification) and incompletely ascertained cases of spina bifida among terminations of pregnancy (potential for selection bias). We conducted a quantitative bias analysis to explore the potential effects of these biases on study results.
We included 808 mothers of fetuses or infants with spina bifida (case mothers) and 7,685 mothers of infants without birth defects (control mothers) from a population-based case-control study, the National Birth Defects Prevention Study (1997-2011). First, we performed a conventional epidemiologic analysis, adjusting for potential confounders using logistic regression. Then, we used 5,000 iterations of probabilistic bias analysis to adjust for the combination of confounding, exposure misclassification, and selection bias.
In the conventional confounding-adjusted analysis, prepregnancy obesity was associated with spina bifida (odds ratio 1.4, 95% confidence interval 1.2, 1.7). In the probabilistic bias analysis, we tested nine different models for the combined effects of confounding, exposure misclassification, and selection bias. Results were consistent with a weak to moderate association between prepregnancy obesity and spina bifida, with the median odds ratios across the nine models ranging from 1.1 to 1.4.
Given our assumptions about the occurrence of bias in the study, our results suggest that exposure misclassification, selection bias, and confounding do not completely explain the association between prepregnancy obesity and spina bifida.

The management of cardiogenic shock remains a clinical challenge even in well-developed healthcare systems, best illustrated by its high mortality despite numerous innovative proposals for management. The aim of this study was to describe temporal trends in incidence, causes, use of mechanical circulatory support, and mortality in cardiogenic shock in Germany.
Data on all cardiogenic shock patients treated in German hospitals between 2005 and 2017 were obtained from the Federal Bureau of Statistics. The data set comprised 441696 patients with cardiogenic shock, mean age 71 (±13.8) years, 171383 (39%) female patients. Incidence rates increased from 33.1/100000 population in 2005 (27246 cases) to 51.7/100000 population in 2017 (42779 cases). Acute myocardial infarction was the most common cause of cardiogenic shock in 2005-07 (43422 of 82037 cases, 52.9%), but the proportion of cases caused by it decreased until 2014-17 (73274 of 165873 cases, 44.2%). Over time, intra-aortic balloon pump (2005 5104; 2017 97gap in this field, in particular for cardiogenic shock caused by diseases other than acute myocardial infarction.

Universal screening for autism promotes early evidence-based treatment. However, many children are not screened, and screened children are often not referred for autism evaluation.
We implemented process changes in 3 phases phase 1, changing the screening instrument and adding decision support; phase 2, adding automatic reminders; and phase 3, adding a referral option for autism evaluations in primary care. We analyzed the proportion of visits with autism screening at 2 intervention clinics before and after implementation of process changes versus 27 community clinics (which received only automatic reminders in phase 2) with χ
test and interrupted time series. We evaluated changes in referral for autism evaluation by calculating the rate ratio for referral.
In 12 233 visits over 2 years (baseline and phased improvements), autism screening increased by 52% in intervention clinics (58.6%-88.8%;
< .001) and 21% in community clinics (43.4%-52.4%;
< .001). In phase 1, interrupted time series trend for screening in intervention clinics increased by 2% per week (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.1% to 2.9%) and did not increase in community clinics. In phase 2, screening in the community clinics increased by 0.46% per week (95% CI 0.03% to 0.89%). In phase 3, the intervention clinic providers referred patients for diagnostic evaluation 3.4 times more frequently (95% CI 2.0 to 5.8) than at baseline.

Although lesbian, gay, bisexual and other sexual minority (LGB+) girls are more likely than heterosexual girls to be pregnant during adolescence, relevant pregnancy prevention programming is lacking.
A national randomized controlled trial was conducted with 948 14- to 18-year-old cisgender LGB+ girls assigned to either Girl2Girl or an attention-matched control group. Participants were recruited on social media between January 2017 and January 2018 and enrolled over the telephone. Between 5 and 10 text messages were sent daily for 7 weeks. Both experimental arms ended with a 1-week booster delivered 12 weeks subsequently.

Considering the low proportion of SARS-CoV-2 genome detected in breastmilk and its lower virulence, mothers with COVID-19 should be supported to breastfeed. Universal screening for autism promotes early evidence-based treatment. However, many children are not screened, and screened children are often not referred for autism evaluation. We implemented process changes in 3 phases phase 1, changing the screening instrument and adding decision support; phase 2, adding automatic reminders; and phase 3, adding a referral option for autism evaluations in primary care. We analyzed the proportion of visits with autism screening at 2 intervention clinics before and after implementation of process changes versus 27 community clinics (which received only automatic reminders in phase 2) with χ test and interrupted time series. We evaluated changes in referral for autism evaluation by calculating the rate ratio for referral. In 12 233 visits over 2 years (baseline and phased improvements), autism screening increased by 52% in intervention clinics (58.6%-88.8%; < .001) and 21% in community clinics (43.4%-52.4%; < .001). In phase 1, interrupted time series trend for screening in intervention clinics increased by 2% per week (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.1% to 2.9%) and did not increase in community clinics. In phase 2, screening in the community clinics increased by 0.46% per week (95% CI 0.03% to 0.89%). In phase 3, the intervention clinic providers referred patients for diagnostic evaluation 3.4 times more frequently (95% CI 2.0 to 5.8) than at baseline. We improved autism screening and referrals by changing the screening instrument, adding decision support, using automatic reminders, and offering autism evaluation in primary care in intervention clinics. A national randomized controlled trial was conducted with 948 14- to 18-year-old cisgender LGB+ girls assigned to either Girl2Girl or an attention-matched control group. Participants were recruited on social media between January 2017 and January 2018 and enrolled over the telephone. Between 5 and 10 text messages were sent daily for 7 weeks. MR diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) may provide important information regarding the pathophysiology of parenchymal abdominal organs. The purpose of our study was to investigate the stability of imaging biomarkers of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) and diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in abdominal parenchymal organs regarding two body hydration states.
Ten healthy volunteers twice underwent DWI of abdominal organs using a double-refocused spin-echo echo-planar imaging sequences with 11 different b-values (ranging from 0 to 1,500 s/mm
) after 4 h of fluid deprivation; 45 min following 1000 ml of water intake. Four different diffusion models were evaluated and compared standard DWI, DKI with mono-exponential fitting, multistep algorithm with variable b-value threshold for IVIM, combined IVIM-Kurtosis; in four abdominal organs kidneys, liver, spleen and psoas muscle.
Diffusion parameters from all four models remained similar for the renal parenchyma before and after thn evaluating diffusion data of these organs.
Five different galenics were analyzed and compared concerning tissue breathability and gas exchange with the environment after an application period of 6 h on pig ear skin. Weight stigma interventions that focus on decreasing weight bias internalization and body dissatisfaction are recommended for individuals across the weight spectrum. Further examination of associations between weight stigma and multiple ED symptoms, beyond disinhibited eating, is supported.Research has demonstrated links between viewing idealized images on social media and body dissatisfaction, but more work is needed to understand how exposure to appearance-related content influences body image. The current research evaluated the effects of viewing fitspiration images and images of self-compassion quotes on Instagram on men and women's body image and self-compassion. This topic was examined in two separate investigations in the U.S.; a sample of undergraduate students (N = 180, 62 men and 118 women) and a community sample recruited through Amazon Mechanical Turk (N = 296; 173 men and 123 women). In both studies, participants viewed either same-gender images of fitspiration, self-compassion quotes, a combination of fitspiration images and self-compassion quotes, or neutral images (control). Overall, the findings suggest that viewing fitspiration images only promotes lower body satisfaction and appreciation, whereas viewing self-compassion images only leads to improved body satisfaction and appreciation. There was, however, little support for the buffering effects of self-compassion in the combined condition. Our results demonstrate the detrimental effects of exposure to fitspiration content and the positive effects of exposure to self-compassion content on social media for men and women as well as the need for future research in this area.

Language and cognitive ability were assessed using the Bayley Scales of Infant Development (age 3) and the Stanford Binet-5 (age 4-6), respectively. We used multivariable WQS regression to identify phthalate mixtures that were negatively and positively associated with language score and full-scale IQ, in separate models, adjuo split the data into training and test sets and should be considered for future analyses of exposure mixtures.
In the largest study of these relationships to date, we observed predominantly null associations between mixtures of prenatal phthalates and both language and IQ. Our novel extension of WQS regression improved sensitivity to detect true associations by obviating the need to split the data into training and test sets and should be considered for future analyses of exposure mixtures.Biodiversity is a cornerstone of human health and well-being. However, while evidence of the contributions of nature to human health is rapidly building, research into how biodiversity relates to human health remains limited in important respects. In particular, a better mechanistic understanding of the range of pathways through which biodiversity can influence human health is needed. These pathways relate to both psychological and social processes as well as biophysical processes. Building on evidence from across the natural, social and health sciences, we present a conceptual framework organizing the pathways linking biodiversity to human health. Four domains of pathways-both beneficial as well as harmful-link biodiversity with human health (i) reducing harm (e.g. provision of medicines, decreasing exposure to air and noise pollution); (ii) restoring capacities (e.g. attention restoration, stress reduction); (iii) building capacities (e.g. promoting physical activity, transcendent experiences); and (iv) causing harm (e.g. dangerous wildlife, zoonotic diseases, allergens). We discuss how to test components of the biodiversity-health framework with available analytical approaches and existing datasets. In a world with accelerating declines in biodiversity, profound land-use change, and an increase in non-communicable and zoonotic diseases globally, greater understanding of these pathways can reinforce biodiversity conservation as a strategy for the promotion of health for both people and nature. We conclude by identifying research avenues and recommendations for policy and practice to foster biodiversity-focused public health actions.
Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (ChRCC) is a rare subtype of non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma. Due to its rarity, its molecular characterization as well as therapeutic targets are still not fully understood.
We performed a next-generation sequencing analysis using the platform Ion PGM System on 20 retrospectively collected ChRCC cases with the aim of identify molecular biomarkers with potential prognostic value or that could have therapeutic implications.
We identified mutation onTP53, SMARCB1, RB1 and JAK3. The most frequently altered gene was TP53 (6/20, 30 % of cases). SMARCB1 mutation was found in 3 (15 %) patients and in all cases the mutational variant was p.T72 K, with known pathogenenic meaning. One (5%) patient presented a pathogenetic mutation of RB1. JAK3 was mutated in 1 (5%) patient and this mutation resulted to have uncertain pathogenetic significance.
