    This study will search the following database EMBASE, PubMed, Web of Science, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and 4 Chinese databases. All databases will be searched from the date of database establishment to January 31, 2019. In addition, we will search possible studies which were included in previous meta-analyses. The primary outcomes are the clinical pregnancy rate (CPR) and the live birth rate (LBR). The secondary outcomes involved the biochemical pregnancy rate (BPR), the ongoing pregnancy rate (OPR), serum hormone level, the incidence of ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome (OHSS), the cycle cancellation rates, and adverse events (AEs). After checking and integrating the raw data, we will use a 2-step to conduct the meta-analysis. Firstly, we will assess the effect of acupuncture on in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Secondly, the meta-analysis will be performed for studies with similar total number of treatment sessions to investigate the dose-related effects of acupuncture. RevMan V.5.3 statistical software will be used for meta-analysis. If it is not appropriate for a meta-analysis, then a descriptive analysis will be conducted.

    This study will investigate the relationship between pregnancy outcomes and the doses of acupuncture therapy in women undergoing IVF, and answer whether a higher-doses of acupuncture treatment will contribute to a better outcome of IVF-ET.

    The funding of this meta-analysis may provide convincing evidence for clinicians, benefitting more patients who crave children.

    The clinical manifestations of the SARS-CoV-2 infection are mainly respiratory but the virus can cause a variety of symptoms. Dermatological findings are less well-characterized. Data is scarce on their timing, type and correlation with the immune response.

    We present the case of SARS-CoV-2 infection in a previously healthy woman who presented with respiratory symptoms and developed anosmia, diarrhea, and an erythematous maculo-papular rash on day 15 from symptom onset.

    The nasopharyngeal swab tested by real time PCR for COVID-19 was positive. We interpreted this as a viral exanthema likely caused by an immune response to SARS-CoV-2 nucleotides.

    She was treated with Hydroxychloroquine, Azithromycin and Lopinavir/Ritonavir, and the rash with topical corticosteroids.

    All symptoms resolved except for anosmia which persisted for 6 weeks. At the 4- and 6-weeks follow-up the IgG titers for SARS-CoV-2 were high.

    Viral pneumonia is a common respiratory disease that leads to high mortality around the world. Tanreqing (TRQ) injection has been widely used to treat viral pneumonia in China. However, the efficiency and safety of TRQ injection for viral pneumonia have not been scientifically and methodically evaluated up to now. Thus, this protocol describes a plan of performing a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TRQ injection on patients with viral pneumonia.

    Only randomized controlled trials will be enrolled in our study, and we will search eligible studies in the following electronic databases PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Clinical Trials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, the Wanfang database, the Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and the Sinomed. The total effective rate of clinical efficacy will be used as primary outcome. Time to relieve symptoms, incidence of adverse reactions, and the laboratory parameters will be used as secondary outcomes. Any side effects and adverse events will be recorded and assessed as safety outcomes. Study inclusion, data extraction, and quality assessment will be performed independently by 2 reviewers, and any disagreement will be resolved by a third reviewer. After that, data synthesis and subgroup analysis will be conducted with the Review Manager V.5.3.3 software.

    This review will provide a high-quality synthesis to assess the effectiveness and safety of TRQ injection for viral pneumonia patients.

    Pneumonia is one of the most important characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and imaging findings of COVID-19 pneumonia are diverse and change over disease course. However, the detailed clinical course of organizing pneumonia (OP) caused by COVID-19 has not been clarified.

    A 60-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman diagnosed with mild COVID-19 were admitted to our hospital. Their respiratory symptoms were deteriorating even after initiating treatment with antiviral drugs.

    Chest X-rays and computed tomography scan showed a rapid progression of linear consolidation with reversed halo sign, distributed in subpleural and peri-bronchial regions. They also presented with pulmonary fibrosis findings, including traction bronchiectasis and marked lung volume reduction. They were diagnosed with rapidly progressing OP.

    They were treated with systemic corticosteroids.

    The patients' imaging findings and respiratory conditions improved rapidly without any adverse effects.

    Physicians should carefully monitor patients with COVID-19, as they can develop rapidly progressive and fibrotic OP, which respond to corticosteroids.

    A systematic literature search was performed in Scopus, Web of Science, MEDLINE, Índice Médico Español, CUIDEN, ProQuest, PsycoINFO, CINAHL and the Cochrane Library, for studies published in English or Spanish analysing nurses' perceptions on factors associated with the provision of individualized care.

    A total of 6,330 articles were retrieved, of which 13 fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The provision of individualized care was influenced by the nurses' personal characteristics (academic training, being a specialist, age, professional experience, personal motivation, empathy and culture) and by organisational factors (staff ratio, routinization and standardization of care, autonomous professional practice, leadership and positive work environment).

This study has evaluated and contrasted the above two types of Fourier transform mass spectrometers for their abilities to detect and identify by accurate mass measurement, small molecule metabolites present in complex mixtures. For these direct introduction studies, the Orbitrap Fusion showed a major advantage in terms of speed of analysis, enabling detection of 218 of 440 molecules ( less then 2 ppm error, 500 000 resolution at m/z 200) present in a complex mixture in 5 min. This approach is the most viable for high-throughput workflows, such as those used in investigations involving very large cohorts of metabolomics samples.

To analyse and integrate the existing literature on nurses' perceptions regarding factors associated with the provision of individualized care in hospital contexts. Individualized care considers the personal characteristics of patients and promotes their participation in decision-making. The application of individualized care is not standardized among professionals. A systematic literature search was performed in Scopus, Web of Science, MEDLINE, Índice Médico Español, CUIDEN, ProQuest, PsycoINFO, CINAHL and the Cochrane Library, for studies published in English or Spanish analysing nurses' perceptions on factors associated with the provision of individualized care. A total of 6,330 articles were retrieved, of which 13 fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The provision of individualized care was influenced by the nurses' personal characteristics (academic training, being a specialist, age, professional experience, personal motivation, empathy and culture) and by organisational factors (staff ratio, routinization and standardization of care, autonomous professional practice, leadership and positive work environment). Nurses' perceptions on the provision of individualized care are influenced by their personal characteristics and organisational factors. The aggregation behavior of TPE derivatives in solution and at the water|1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) interface was highly dependent on their ionizable functional groups. Spectroelectrochemical analysis elucidated that the TPE derivatives were transferred across the interface accompanied by the adsorption process at the interface. The ion transfer and interfacial AIE features of TPEs responded reversibly to the externally applied potential, indicating no rigid crystalline structure formation in the interfacial region. The red shift measured in intense interfacial emission spectra demonstrated that the carboxylate derivatives formed their J-aggregates specifically at the polarized water|DCE interface, while the aggregation processes with distinguishable emission properties took place in both the interfacial region and organic solution in the sulfonate derivative system. The AIE features were also investigated at a glycerophospholipid-adsorbed interface as a model of the biomembrane surface. The rising bubble generates wake-like flow in the fluid while modifying the flow structure inside the droplet; hence, the number of circulating structures increases from two to four in droplet fluid. The dust particles picked up by flow currents are redistributed over the entire carbonated water droplet, while mitigated dust particles remain in the lower region of the distilled water droplet. Bubbles formed inside the carbonated water droplet improve dust lifting and rate of dust mitigation from the surface.Droplet impact on arbitrary inclined surfaces is of great interest for applications such as antifreezing, self-cleaning, and anti-infection. In this paper, using propagating surface acoustic waves (SAWs) along the inclined surfaces, we present a novel technique to modify and control key droplet impact parameters, such as impact regime, contact time, and rebouncing direction. A high-fidelity finite volume method was developed to explore the mechanisms of droplet impact on the inclined surfaces assisted by SAWs. Numerical results revealed that applying SAWs modifies the energy budget inside the liquid medium, leading to different impact behaviors. We then systematically investigated the effects of inclination angle, droplet impact velocity, SAW propagation direction, and applied SAW power on the impact dynamics and showed that by using SAWs, droplet impact on the nontextured hydrophobic and inclined surface is effectively changed from deposition to complete rebound. Moreover, the maximum contact time reduction up to ∼50% can be achieved, along with an alteration of droplet spreading and movement along the inclined surfaces.   • Model warming projections, forced by increasing greenhouse gases, have a large inter-model spread in both their geographical warming patterns and global mean values. The inter-model warming pattern spread (WPS) limits our ability to foresee the severity of regional impacts on nature and society. This paper focuses on uncovering the feedbacks responsible for the WPS. Here, we identify two dominant WPS modes whose global mean values also explain 98.7% of the global warming spread (GWS). We show that the ice-albedo feedback spread explains uncertainties in polar regions while the water vapor feedback spread explains uncertainties elsewhere. Other processes, including the cloud feedback, contribute less to the WPS as their spreads tend to cancel each other out in a model-dependent manner. Our findings suggest that the WPS and GWS could be significantly reduced by narrowing the inter-model spreads of ice-albedo and water vapor feedbacks, and better understanding the spatial coupling between feedbacks.Archaea have evolved to survive in some of the most extreme environments on earth. Life in extreme, nutrient-poor conditions gives the opportunity to probe fundamental energy limitations on movement and response to stimuli, two essential markers of living systems. Here we use three-dimensional holographic microscopy and computer simulations to reveal that halophilic archaea achieve chemotaxis with power requirements one hundred-fold lower than common eubacterial model systems. Their swimming direction is stabilised by their flagella (archaella), enhancing directional persistence in a manner similar to that displayed by eubacteria, albeit with a different motility apparatus. Our experiments and simulations reveal that the cells are capable of slow but deterministic chemotaxis up a chemical gradient, in a biased random walk at the thermodynamic limit.Aging is characterized by the loss of homeostasis and the general decline of physiological functions, accompanied by various degenerative diseases and increased rates of mortality. Aging targeting small molecule screens have been performed many times, however, few have focused on endogenous metabolic intermediates-metabolites. Here, using C. elegans lifespan assays, we conducted a worm metabolite screen and identified an eukaryotes conserved metabolite, myo-inositol (MI), to extend lifespan, increase mobility and reduce fat content. Genetic analysis of enzymes in MI metabolic pathway suggest that MI alleviates aging through its derivative PI(4,5)P2. MI and PI(4,5)P2 are precursors of PI(3,4,5)P3, which is negatively related to longevity. The longevity effect of MI is dependent on the tumor suppressor gene, daf-18 (homologous to mouse Pten), independent of its classical pathway downstream genes, akt or daf-16. Furthermore, we found MI effects on aging and lifespan act through mitophagy regulator PTEN induced kinase-1 (pink-1) and mitophagy. Here, we introduce InvaCost as the most up-to-date, comprehensive, harmonised and robust compilation and description of economic cost estimates associated with biological invasions worldwide. We have developed a systematic, standardised methodology to collect information from peer-reviewed articles and grey literature, while ensuring data validity and method repeatability for further transparent inputs. Our manuscript presents the methodology and tools used to build and populate this living and publicly available database. We have searched archives, scanned the primary and grey literature, and contacted researchers, to collate 49187 records of marine zooplankton biomass from waters around Australia (0-60°S, 110-160°E). Many of these datasets are relatively small, but when combined, they provide >85 years of zooplankton biomass data for Australian waters from 1932 to the present. Data have been standardised and all available metadata included. We have lodged this dataset with the Australian Ocean Data Network, allowing full public access. The Australian Zooplankton Biomass Database will be valuable for global change studies, research assessing trophic linkages, and for initialising and assessing biogeochemical and ecosystem models of lower trophic levels.Speciation constrains the flow of genetic information between populations of sexually reproducing organisms. Strains homozygous for both elements are fertile and fecund when they mate with similarly engineered strains, but incompatible with wild-type strains that lack resistant alleles. EGI genotypes can also be tuned to cause hybrid lethality at different developmental life-stages. MI and PI(4,5)P2 are precursors of PI(3,4,5)P3, which is negatively related to longevity. The longevity effect of MI is dependent on the tumor suppressor gene, daf-18 (homologous to mouse Pten), independent of its classical pathway downstream genes, akt or daf-16. Furthermore, we found MI effects on aging and lifespan act through mitophagy regulator PTEN induced kinase-1 (pink-1) and mitophagy. MI's anti-aging effect is also conserved in mouse, indicating a conserved mechanism in mammals.Biological invasions are responsible for tremendous impacts globally, including huge economic losses and management expenditures. Efficiently mitigating this major driver of global change requires the improvement of public awareness and policy regarding its substantial impacts on our socio-ecosystems. One option to contribute to this overall objective is to inform people on the economic costs linked to these impacts; however, until now, a reliable synthesis of invasion costs has never been produced at a global scale. Here, we introduce InvaCost as the most up-to-date, comprehensive, harmonised and robust compilation and description of economic cost estimates associated with biological invasions worldwide. We have developed a systematic, standardised methodology to collect information from peer-reviewed articles and grey literature, while ensuring data validity and method repeatability for further transparent inputs. Our manuscript presents the methodology and tools used to build and populate this living and publicly available database. We have searched archives, scanned the primary and grey literature, and contacted researchers, to collate 49187 records of marine zooplankton biomass from waters around Australia (0-60°S, 110-160°E). Many of these datasets are relatively small, but when combined, they provide >85 years of zooplankton biomass data for Australian waters from 1932 to the present. Data have been standardised and all available metadata included. We have lodged this dataset with the Australian Ocean Data Network, allowing full public access. The Australian Zooplankton Biomass Database will be valuable for global change studies, research assessing trophic linkages, and for initialising and assessing biogeochemical and ecosystem models of lower trophic levels.Speciation constrains the flow of genetic information between populations of sexually reproducing organisms. Gaining control over mechanisms of speciation would enable new strategies to manage wild populations of disease vectors, agricultural pests, and invasive species. Here, we demonstrate a general approach to create engineered genetic incompatibilities (EGIs) in the model insect Drosophila melanogaster. EGI couples a dominant lethal transgene with a recessive resistance allele. Strains homozygous for both elements are fertile and fecund when they mate with similarly engineered strains, but incompatible with wild-type strains that lack resistant alleles. EGI genotypes can also be tuned to cause hybrid lethality at different developmental life-stages.   • Mexican-hat-like band dispersion is extremely critical to the realization of hole-doping-induced magnetism in monolayer metal monochalcogenides. However, it is absent from transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), i.e., WSe2. Herein, using first-principles calculations, we show that Mexican-hat-like band dispersion can be achieved by applying interlayer strain (ε) in the WSe2/SnS2 van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure when ε exceeds 15%. This is because in the strain-induced distorted trigonal prismatic crystal field, at the valence band edge, the W_dz2 orbitals shift upward around the Γ point, while the double-degenerate W_dxy/dx2-y2 orbitals shift downward at the K point, resulting in Mexican-hat-like band dispersion near the Γ point when the energy level of the Γ point surpasses that of the K point. On account of the appearance of the Mexican-hat-like band edge (MHBE), hole-doping in the strained WSe2/SnS2 heterostructure induces magnetization readily from the nonmagnetized phase. Our findings may provide a new strategy for the realization of magnetized TMDC-based vdW heterostructures.A novel strategy is developed to produce an FeS-FeNC-decorated hierarchical porous N,S-co-doped carbon (FeS-FeNC@NSC) electrocatalyst via introducing volatile FeCl3 into a porphyrin polymer framework followed by carbonization. Using the best analytical conditions, limits of detection for trace elements were found to be in the range of 0.04-0.3 mg kg-1. Trueness and precision of the results, evaluated by spiked SP sample analysis, were in most cases acceptable with recovery values in the range of 87-109% and relative standard deviations 3-12% (n = 5). The developed TXRF method was applied for the analysis of several SP samples from patients with different diagnoses and the results were compared with those obtained by ICP-OES. Among the studied trace elements with a role in the antioxidant defence system only Zn could be quantified and some differences in Zn concentrations among studied groups were observed. The final analysis of the analytes was carried out by atomic absorption spectroscopy. XRD, FTIR, and SEM studies were used for the characterization of the synthesized nanoadsorbent. For the maximum extraction efficiency, effective factors (including pH, nanoadsorbent dosage, and volume of the eluent) were investigated using the central composite design (CCD) method. Under the optimum conditions, the preconcentration factor was more than 20. The linear ranges for Ni2+, Pb2+, Co2+, and Cd2+ were obtained as (5-550), (7-750), (5-500), and (3-100) ng mL-1, respectively. The proposed method provided low detection limits (1.4, 2.1, 1.5, and 0.9 ng mL-1 for Ni2+, Pb2+, Co2+, and Cd2+, respectively) and suitable repeatability (relative standard deviation values (RSDs) below 6.1%, n = 6). Finally, the current method was successfully used for the extraction of heavy metals from cosmetic samples.Improvement in the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSC) and dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) upon modifications of mesoporous titania layers has been studied. Moreover, the photoinduced changes close to TiO2 interface were revealed in better PSC, which may indicate that in the efficient devices halide segregation takes place in perovskite material.   • Intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration is associated with low **** pain and accompanied by mechanical changes to the spine. SPARC (secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine) is a protein that contributes to the functioning and maintenance of the extracellular matrix. SPARC-null **** display accelerated IVD degeneration and pain-associated behaviours. This study examined if SPARC-null **** also display altered spine mechanics as compared to wild-type (WT) ****. Lumbar spines from SPARC-null (n=36) and WT (n=18) **** aged 14-25 months were subjected to cyclic axial tension and compression to determine neutral zone (NZ) length and stiffness. Three separate mechanical tests were completed for each spine to determine the effect of the number of IVDs tested in series (one vs two vs three IVDs). SPARC-null spine NZs were both stiffer (p less then .001) and smaller in length (p less then .001) than WT spines. There was an effect of the number of IVDs tested in series for NZ length but not NZ stiffness when collapsed across condition (SPARC-null and WT). Correlation analysis revealed a weak negative correlation (r = -.24) between age and NZ length in SPARC-null **** and a weak positive correlation (r = .30) between age and NZ stiffness in WT ****. In conclusion, SPARC-null **** had stiffer and smaller NZs than WT ****, regardless of the number of IVDs in series being tested. Finally, we discuss additional challenges that face researchers using NIBS to study and modulate social processing in atypical groups. We argue that the COVID-19 pandemic will have long-lasting effects on the garment workers, especially related to their health issues, financial hardship and inability to pay for essentials such as food, and future employment opportunities. The stakeholders (such as the international retailers/brands, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Government of Bangladesh) responsible for the global supply chain RMG factories should reconsider the health and overall wellbeing needs of the RMG workers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.The Re-Link Trainer (RLT) is a novel end-effector device designed for gait retraining post-stroke. The user's foot is constrained to a specific kinematic trajectory relative to the trainer, while the hip and knee are unconstrained. As the RLT only fixes the footplate trajectory the expected constraint on the hip and knee angles will be subject-specific due to individual lower limb geometries. This study had two objectives (1) to calculate the subject-specific theoretical joint angle trajectories the RLT should constrain the hip and knee angle to using computer simulation, assuming a fixed hip position relative to the RLT, and (2) experimentally determine the actual hip and knee joint angle trajectories of healthy users walking in the RLT, and compare them to the theoretical joint angle trajectories. The root mean square error between joint trajectories obtained from motion capture and simulation ranged from 4.31o to 20.51o for the hip and between 4.48o to 22.58o for the knee, suggestive of moderate to poor accuracy and distinct kinematic adaptation strategies when using the RLT. A linear fit method (LFM) was used to determine the similarity between the obtained and simulated joint angle trajectories. LFM results would suggest that users' hip and knee joint angles follow the simulated joint angle trajectories when walking in the RLT, however the actual joint angle trajectories are offset from the simulation trajectories. Post hoc analyses suggest hip motion influences the hip and knee angle trajectory differences for participants.

This study had two objectives (1) to calculate the subject-specific theoretical joint angle trajectories the RLT should constrain the hip and knee angle to using computer simulation, assuming a fixed hip position relative to the RLT, and (2) experimentally determine the actual hip and knee joint angle trajectories of healthy users walking in the RLT, and compare them to the theoretical joint angle trajectories. The root mean square error between joint trajectories obtained from motion capture and simulation ranged from 4.31o to 20.51o for the hip and between 4.48o to 22.58o for the knee, suggestive of moderate to poor accuracy and distinct kinematic adaptation strategies when using the RLT. A linear fit method (LFM) was used to determine the similarity between the obtained and simulated joint angle trajectories. LFM results would suggest that users' hip and knee joint angles follow the simulated joint angle trajectories when walking in the RLT, however the actual joint angle trajectories are offset from the simulation trajectories. Post hoc analyses suggest hip motion influences the hip and knee angle trajectory differences for participants.

The purpose of this study was to prospectively evaluate Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data and System version 2.1 (PI-RADSv2.1), which was released in March 2019 to update version 2.0, for prostate cancer detection with transrectal ultrasound-MRI fusion biopsy and 12-core systematic biopsy. SUBJECTS AND METHODS. This prospective study included 110 consecutively registered patients who underwent multiparametric MRI evaluated with PI-RADSv2.1 criteria followed by fusion biopsy and systematic biopsy between April and September 2019. Lesion-based cancer detection rates (CDRs) were calculated for prostate cancer (Gleason grade group, > 0) and clinically significant prostate cancer (Gleason grade group, > 1). RESULTS. A total of 171 lesions (median size, 1.1 cm) in 110 patients were detected and evaluated with PI-RADSv2.1. In 16 patients no lesion was detected, and only systematic biopsy was performed. Lesions were categorized as follows PI-RADS category 1, 1 lesion; PI-RADS category 2, 34 lesions; PI-RADS category 3, 54 lesions; PI-RADS category 4, 52 lesions; and PI-RADS category 5, 30 lesions. Histopathologic analysis revealed prostate cancer in 74 of 171 (43.3%) lesions and clinically significant prostate cancer in 57 of 171 (33.3%) lesions. The CDRs of prostate cancer for PI-RADS 2, 3, 4, and 5 lesions were 20.0%, 24.1%, 51.9%, and 90.0%. The CDRs of clinically significant prostate cancer for PI-RADS 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 lesions were 0%, 5.7%, 14.8%, 44.2%, and 80.0%. In 16 patients with normal multiparametric MRI findings (PI-RADS 1), the CDRs were 50.0% for PCa and 18.8% for clinically significant prostate cancer. CONCLUSION. This investigation yielded CDRs assessed with prospectively assigned PI-RADSv2.1 scores. CDRs increased with higher PI-RADSv2.1 scores. We have previously shown that the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) does not regulate FHRV during labor-like hypoxia. We therefore investigated the hypothesis that the parasympathetic system is the main mediator of intrapartum FHRV. Twenty-six chronically instrumented fetal sheep at 0.85 of gestation received either bilateral cervical vagotomy (n = 7), atropine sulfate (n = 7), or sham treatment (control, n = 12), followed by three 1-min complete umbilical cord occlusions (UCOs) separated by 4-min reperfusion periods. Parasympathetic blockade reduced three measures of FHRV before UCOs (all P less then 0.01). Between UCOs, atropine and vagotomy were associated with marked tachycardia (both P less then 0.005), suppressed measures of FHRV (all P less then 0.01), and abolished FHRV on visual inspection compared with the control group. Tachycardia in the atropine and vagotomy groups resolved over the first 10 min after the final UCO, in association with evidence that the SNS contribution to FHRV progressively returned during this time. Our findings support that SNS control of FHRV is acutely suppressed for at least 4 min after a deep intrapartum deceleration and takes 5-10 min to recover. The parasympathetic system is therefore likely to be the key mediator of FHRV once frequent FHR decelerations are established during labor.

  • The use of enhanced half-life (EHL) FVIII has improved the quality of prophylaxis in haemophilia A, but with a benefit that may vary from one patient to another. We analysed the pharmacokinetic data obtained with efmoroctocog alfa (rFVIII-Fc) in 114 patients and, in 47 cases, compared them to those previously measured with non-EHL FVIII. The in vivo recovery (IVR) of rFVIII-Fc measured with one stage clotting assay (OSA) and chromogenic assay (CSA) was 2.2 and 2.8 IU/mL per IU/kg, respectively. The median half-life (T1/2 ) of rFVIII-Fc was 14.5 hours whatever the FVIIIC assay used, but variable and correlated with preinfusion VWFAg levels (r = .76). Both IVR and T1/2 were lower in patients under 12 years old (2.4 IU/mL per IU/kg and 11.1 hours, respectively; CSA). PK study of rFVIII-Fc vs non-EHL FVIII showed a T1/2 ratio of 1.4 in favour of rFVIII-Fc, regardless of the patient's age. However the relative increase in T1/2 with rFVIII-Fc was lower than 30% in one-third of patients evaluated, particularly when the previous FVIII administered was a BHK-derived product. Multivariate analysis was used to identify predictors of new-onset SVT and the association of time-dependent development of SVT with subsequent ventricular tachyarrhythmic events (VTEs), HF-hospitalizations, and death. SVT burden was categorized into three groups based on the number of episodes per patient; (a) Low 6-fold increased risk for all-cause mortality (HR = 6.5; 95% CI 2.3-18.7; P  less then  .001), but not with HF hospitalizations (HR = 2.2; 95% CI 0.7-7.2; P = .17). Intermediate, and high SVT-burden were each independent risk factors for death when compared with Low burden (HR = 9.1; P = .03, and HR = 19.4; P  less then  .001; respectively). PARTICIPANTS 1,008 adult quitters who self-report no tobacco use in the past 3 to 30 days INTERVENTIONS The intervention group (n=504) will join a WhatsApp social group to receive standardized and theory-based reminders of smoking relapse prevention and participate in discussion with other WhatsApp group members using their own mobile phones. All social groups will be led by counselors or specialist nurse practitioners. The control group (n=504) will receive similar reminders via short messages to their own mobile phones, but will not interact with other participants. The intervention duration for both groups is 8 weeks. Both groups will receive a booklet at baseline about how to prevent smoking relapse. MEASUREMENTS The primary outcome is biochemically validated tobacco abstinence at 12 months after consent. COMMENTS The findings will provide evidence concerning the utility of operating online social group discussion for prevention of smoking relapse and sustaining long-term abstinence. The present study evaluated the potential roles of five hard tick species [Hyalomma excavatum Koch, 1844; Hyalomma marginatum Koch, 1844; Rhipicephalus turanicus Pomerantsev 1936; Rhipicephalus annulatus Say, 1821; Haemaphysalis parva (Neumann, 1897) (all Ixodida Ixodidae)], previously found to infest horses in Israel, in acting as vectors for piroplasmosis. For this, DNA was extracted from whole ticks and, when possible, from the salivary glands in each species (n = 10-59). Polymerase chain reaction amplification and sequencing of the 18S rRNA gene were used to detect T. equi in 48 of the 127 ticks (37.8%) and in 21 of the 90 extracted salivary glands (23.3%) in all five species. All but two sequences were classified as T. equi genotype A; the remaining two were classified as genotype D. Coupled with our more recent recognition that many rare variants implicated in inherited arrhythmia syndromes possess unexpectedly high allele frequencies within the general population, these observations have contributed to the realization that a spectrum of pathogenicity exists among clinically relevant genetic variants. Notably, variable mutation pathogenicity and corresponding variable degrees of penetrance emphasize a limitation of contemporary guidelines, which attempt to dichotomize genetic variants as pathogenic or benign. Recognition of the existence of low and intermediate penetrant variants insufficient to be causative for disease in isolation has served to emphasize the importance of additional genetic, clinical, and environmental factors in the pathogenesis of rare inherited arrhythmia syndromes.
