Dentists should be alert not only to clinical variables, but also to socioeconomic, psychological and cultural factors, which have all been associated with the experience of dental caries. The aim of this study of was to assess social status and dental experience among Brazilian children. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 1367 male and female children aged six and seven years enrolled at public and private schools in the city of Recife (Brazil) in 2013. The children at tending public schools were socioeconomically less privileged than those attending private schools. Data were collected through interviews and intraoral examinations. Caries experience was high (53.3%) in the overall sample, but less privileged children had larger percentages of decayed teeth and teeth that required extraction (p less then 0.001). Children from less privileged social class had a greater chance of having a low (OR = 1.77 [95%CI 1.33 - 2.35]), moderate (OR = 4.41 [95%CI 3.18 - 6,14]) and high (OR = 9.55 [95%CI 6.01 - 15.16]) caries experience. They also had a greater chance of never visiting a dentist (OR= 2.90 [95% CI 2.25 - 3.74]) and had dental anxiety (OR = 1.70 [95%CI 1.34-2, 16]). Divorced individuals and those who did not use dental floss presented 77% and 54%, respectively, higher prevalence ratio (PR) of having higher OHRQoL impact. Elderly that did not need dental prosthesis demonstrated a lower impact on OHRQoL (P less then 0.01). Elderly with TMD presented a higher PR of having higher OHRQoL impact (P less then 0.01). It was concluded that higher impact on OHRQoL was associated with marital status, non-users of dental floss and those with TMD. In conclusion, we note scarcity of studies on the subject, with exclusive samples of older adults in both categories, as well as that the greater or lesser relevance of a given factor will depend on the life context of each worker. Moreover, since retirement decision is a dynamic process, there is a shortage of longitudinal studies that need to be met with more robust national surveys of the elderly population.This study aimed to identify an association between the most frequent multimorbidities in Brazilian older adults and socioeconomic and lifestyle variables. National Health Survey's data were used. The Chi-square test and the Poisson multiple regression were used to analyze data. A total of 5,575 older adults with multimorbidity and mean age of 70.3 years participated in the study. Most of them are female (66.3%), white (56.1%), are sedentary (75.3%), with low schooling (40%), no health plan (65.3%), did not consume alcohol (78.7%) and did not smoke (90.1%). The most prevalent multimorbidities were hypertension and high cholesterol (31.3%), hypertension and stroke (30.9%) and hypertension and diabetes (23.3%). There was an association of the first condition with females, younger adults and no tobacco use. On the other hand, the second condition was associated with females and low level of schooling. The third group was associated with low schooling, sedentary lifestyle and no tobacco use. We can conclude that multimorbidity in Brazilian older adults is a frequent condition in women, younger seniors and those socioeconomically disadvantaged. The electron-donor-acceptor (EDA) interactions and hydrogen bonds is suggested as the major adsorption mechanism. And as for the adsorption of the various biowaste recycled synthetic, this study can be referred in discussion of performance analysis and optimal condition.India is highly vulnerable to air pollution in the recent decade, especially urban areas with rapidly growing urbanisation and industrialisation. Here, we present spatio-temporal variability of air pollutants at four distinct locations in Andhra Pradesh State of India. The mean concentrations of air pollutants were generally higher at Visakhapatnam site than Amaravati, Rajahmundry, and Tirumala sites. The mean concentration of particulate matter of diameter less than 2.5 μm (PM2.5) was higher at Visakhapatnam site (48.5 ± 27.3 μg/m3) by a factor of about 1.6 as compared to Tirumala site (29.5 ± 17 μg/m3). On the contrary, the mean concentrations of oxides of nitrogen (NOx, 70.3 ± 28.1 μg/m3) and ammonia (NH3, 20.5 ± 9.2 μg/m3) were higher at Tirumala by a factor of about 1.4 and 1.9, respectively, as compared to Visakhapatnam (49 ± 5 μg/m3 and 10.7 ± 5 μg/m3). This was mainly attributed to higher vehicular emissions at Tirumala site. PM2.5, carbon monoxide (CO), NOx, and sulfur dioxide (SO2) showed distinct seasonal variation, with higher concentrations in winter followed by post-monsoon, pre-monsoon and monsoon. The Concentration Weighted Trajectory analysis of PM2.5 based on 5-days backward air mass trajectories showed that all sites experienced northeast air mass flow indicative of the outflow from Indo-Gangetic Plain, particularly in the post-monsoon and winter seasons. The Continuous Wavelet Transform analysis further showed that higher variations in PM2.5 concentrations occurring at a regular interval from a week to 16 days at both Tirumala and Visakhapatnam sites, while weekly periods are dominant over Amaravati and Rajahmundry sites with 95% significance during post-monsoon and winter seasons. Overall, our results underline heterogeneity in air pollution emission sources and influx of pollutants from distant sources, which would be useful when formulating the policies and mitigation procedures for this region.This study aims to investigate the adsorption behavior of cationic and anionic dyes of methylene blue (MB) and Congo red (CR) onto wet-torrefied Chlorella sp. microalgal biochar respectively, as an approach to generate a waste-derived and low-cost adsorbent. The wet-torrefied microalgal biochar possessed microporous properties with pore diameter less than 2 nm. The optimum adsorbent dosage of wet-torrefied microalgal biochar for MB and CR dyes removal were determined at 1 g/L and 2 g/L, respectively, with their natural pHs as the optimum adsorption pHs. The determined equilibrium contact times for MB and CR were 120 h and 4 h, respectively. Based on the equilibrium modeling, the results revealed that Langmuir isotherm showed the best model fit, based on the highest R2 coefficient, for both the adsorption processes of MB and CR using the wet-torrefied microalgal biochar, indicating that the monolayer adsorption was the dominant process. From the modeling, the maximum adsorption capacities for MB and CR were 113.00 mg/g and 164.35 mg/g, respectively. The kinetic modeling indicated the adsorption rate and mechanism of the dyes adsorption processes, which could be crucial for future modeling and application of wet-torrefied microalgal biochar. From the results, it suggests that the valorization of microalgae by utilizing wet-torrefied microalgal biochar as the effective adsorbent for the removal of toxic dyes with an approach of microalgal biorefinery and value-added application to the environment is feasible.We collected 170 samples of airborne fine particulate matter from five coal-producing cities and one oil-producing city in northern China during both heating and non-heating periods to quantify the concentrations of 12 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, estimate their bioaccessible fraction, and calculate the incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) of this fraction. The major sources of the particulate matter were analyzed using the chemical mass balance model. We found that the main emission sources were coal combustion during the heating period and open sources during the non-heating period. The ILCR was initially calculated as 2.65 × 10-9 for coal-producing cities and 4.60 × 10-9 for the oil-producing city during the heating period and 1.17 × 10-8 and 3.34 × 10-8, respectively, during the non-heating period. When only the bioaccessible fraction was used, the ILCR in coal-producing cities and the oil-producing city decreased by 87.2% and 82.1%, respectively, for the heating period and by 89.0% and 80.1%, respectively, for the non-heating period. The findings suggest that bioaccessibility should be considered when assessing the carcinogenic risk of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. To develop and validate deep learning models for understanding public perceptions of HPV vaccines from the perspective of behavior change theories using data from social media.
This retrospective cohort study, conducted from April to August 2019, included longitudinal and geographic analyses of public perceptions regarding HPV vaccines, using sampled HPV vaccine-related Twitter discussions collected from January 2014 to October 2018.
The prevalence of social media discussions related to the construct of health belief model (HBM) and theory of planned behavior (TPB), categorized by deep learning algorithms. Locally estimated scatterplot smoothing (LOESS) revealed trends of constructs. Social media users' US state-level home location information was extracperceptions on social media and evolving trends in terms of multiple dimensions. The interstate variations of public perceptions could be associated with the rise of local antivaccine sentiment. The methods described in this study represent an early contribution to using existing empirically and theoretically based frameworks that describe human decision-making in conjunction with more intelligent deep learning algorithms. Furthermore, these data demonstrate the ability to collect large-scale HPV vaccine perception and intention data that can inform public health communication and education programs designed to improve immunization rates at the community, state, or even national level.
Erectile dysfunction, especially in younger men, is an early sign of cardiovascular disease and may decrease quality of life. Men may be motivated to adopt a healthy dietary pattern if it lowers their risk of erectile dysfunction.
To assess the association between adherence to a diet quality index based on healthy dietary patterns and erectile dysfunction in men.
This population-based prospective cohort study included men from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study with follow-up from January 1, 1998, through January 1, 2014. Participants included US male health professionals aged 40 to 75 years at enrollment. Men with erectile dysfunction or a diagnosis of myocardial infarction, diabetes, stroke, or genitourinary cancer at baseline were excluded. Analyses were completed in February 2020.
A food frequency questionnaire was used to determine nutrient and food intake every 4 years.
Diet quality was assessed by Mediterranean Diet score and the Alternative Healthy Eating Index 2010 score, with higher er Mediterranean diet scores were also inversely associated with incident erectile dysfunction among older men (age 60 to <70 years HR, 0.82; 95% CI, 0.76-0.89; age ≥70 years HR, 0.93; 95% CI, 0.86-1.00). Men scoring in the highest quintile of the Alternative Healthy Eating Index 2010 also had a lower risk of incident erectile dysfunction, particularly among men age younger than 60 years (quintile 5 vs quintile 1 HR, 0.78; 95% CI, 0.63-0.97).

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine hesitancy or refusal is common among parents of adolescents. An understanding of public perceptions from the perspective of behavior change theories can facilitate effective and targeted vaccine promotion strategies. To develop and validate deep learning models for understanding public perceptions of HPV vaccines from the perspective of behavior change theories using data from social media. This retrospective cohort study, conducted from April to August 2019, included longitudinal and geographic analyses of public perceptions regarding HPV vaccines, using sampled HPV vaccine-related Twitter discussions collected from January 2014 to October 2018. The prevalence of social media discussions related to the construct of health belief model (HBM) and theory of planned behavior (TPB), categorized by deep learning algorithms. Locally estimated scatterplot smoothing (LOESS) revealed trends of constructs. Social media users' US state-level home location information was extracperceptions on social media and evolving trends in terms of multiple dimensions. COVID-19-indicator symptoms were present in 69%; 41% had respiratory and 61% extra-pulmonary symptoms. Mental health symptoms were endorsed in 45% with PHQ-2 and 43% with GAD-2, although threshold for major depressionental health symptoms require further study.

We compared demographics and behaviors of MSM who reported cisgender women partners in the past 3 months (MSMW) and MSM who reported both cisgender and transgender women partners (MSMW-T) to MSM who reported only male partners (MSMO). We calculated HIV incidence in each group during 2-year follow-up.
Compared with MSMO, MSMW and MSMW-T more often self-identify as heterosexual or bisexual and report insertive sex practices. MSMW reported condomless sex with cisgender women vaginal (72%), anal sex (18%). One-third of MSMW reported condomless receptive anal sex with men in the past 3 months, with 24% of MSMW overall who reported both condomless receptive sex with men and condomless insertive vaginal or anal sex with cisgender women. Of these, 17% were HIV infected. HIV incidence did not differ significantly between groups.

Monogenic diabetes includes a group of heterogeneous diabetes types. We aimed to identify the frequency, clinical and molecular features of monogenic diabetes in a Korean pediatric cohort.
A retrospective cohort and multicenter study of Korean children suspected to have monogenic diabetes, managed by four pediatric endocrine centers in the southeast region of South Korea, from February 2016 to February 2020. We recruited 27 pediatric Korean patients suspected to have monogenic diabetes who had at least two of the following three criteria (age at diagnosis, family history, and clinical presentation). Targeted exome sequencing was conducted in these patients. The functional consequences of the variants were predicted by bioinformatics and protein structure analysis.
Molecular genetic analysis identified 16 patients (59.3%) with monogenic diabetes. We identified a total ofeight unique variants, including five novel variants (

It is a genetic disorder with both familial and sporadic forms. Case Presentation In this study, we examined two unrelated infants of diabetic mothers (IDMs) presented with HH. DNA sequencing (Sanger and NGS panel) identified pathogenic variants of the Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 4A (HNF4A) gene in both families. Pathogenic variants of HNF4A gene are reported to cause HH in the newborn period and Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) later in life. The diagnosis of MODY was made in retrospect for the two mothers, thus improving the management of their diabetes. Conclusion Genetic testing for CHI is strongly recommended if neonatal hypoglycemia persists. A family history of MODY or presumed type II diabetes can support that the affected gene is HNF4A.

There are few studies characterizing pediatric population in Colombia. We intend to detail the clinical, histological characteristics, BRAFV600E mutational status and NIS (sodium-iodine symporter) expression of children with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) managed at Hospital de La Misericordia. Methods Medical records of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pathology from 2009 to 2018 were scrutinized in search of cases of differentiated thyroid carcinoma. A descriptive analysis was made. Paraffin embedded tumoral tissue was recovered to assess BRAF V600E mutational status by PCR and NIS expression by immunohistochemistry. Results Sixteen patients were selected, 81.2% were girls. Average age of presentation was 11.8 years. Only one patient had previous radiation exposure. Most frequent symptom was cervical adenopathy with a mean time of 29.2 weeks before diagnosis. 93.7% underwent total thyroidectomy and lymphadenectomy. 62.5% were PTC combining both classic and follicular pattern. 6.25% cases had BRAFV600E mutation and 25% showed NIS focal reactivity. Conclusions We found greater female predominance, lower percentage of risk factors described and a high percentage of patients requiring aggressive surgical treatment. We consider important to contemplate thyroid cancer as a differential diagnosis of cervical lymph node enlargement in children. Diagnosis can be challenging in benign and indeterminate categories of the FNA cytology and biomolecular profiles such as BRAF and NIS could be determinant in guiding treatment. A retrospective cohort and multicenter study of Korean children suspected to have monogenic diabetes, managed by four pediatric endocrine centers in the southeast region of South Korea, from February 2016 to February 2020. We recruited 27 pediatric Korean patients suspected to have monogenic diabetes who had at least two of the following three criteria (age at diagnosis, family history, and clinical presentation). Using an integrative methodology, we approach IPV as a form of chronic exposure to severe stress that alters the stress-response system of exposed women. The aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that sustained exposure to IPV in women confers a vulnerability-to-stress profile characterised by higher neuroendocrine and behavioural responsiveness associated with a selective attentional processing bias towards threat.

This was a retrospective study using data from the Swedish portion of the Scandinavian Donations and Transfusions Database. The association between ABO blood group and aortic disease was analysed using log-linear Poisson regression models and presented as incidence rate ratios (IRRs).

The study cohort consisted of 1 164 561 Swedish blood donors and 961 637 transfused patients with a combined follow-up time of 29 390 649 person-years.
IRRs of aortic events (ie, aortic aneurysms and/or aortic dissections) in relation to patient blood group.
A total of 20 684 aortic events occurred during the study period. Non-O donors and patients had similar incidence of aortic events when compared with blood group O donors and patients with an IRR of 0.98 (95% CI, 0.93-1.04) and 1.00 (95% CI, 0.97-1.03), respectively. There were no differences between non-O and blood group O individuals when aortic dissections and aortic aneurysms were analysed separately. Blood group B conferred a lower risk of aortic aneurysms in the patient cohort when compared with blood group O (IRR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.85-0.96).

Uncomplicated urinary tract infection (UTI) in women is a common reason to present in general practice and is usually treated with antibiotics to reduce symptom severity and duration. Results of recent clinical trials indicate that non-antibiotic treatment approaches can also be effective. However, it remains unclear which patients would benefit from antibiotic treatment and which can effectively and safely be treated without antibiotics. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to estimate the effect of treatment strategies to reduce antibiotic use in comparison with immediate antibiotic treatment and to identify prognostic factors and moderators of treatment effects. A further aim is to identify subgroups of patients benefiting from a specific therapy.

To develop a behavioural intervention package to support clinicians and patients to amend incorrect penicillin allergy records in general practice. The intervention aimed to (1) support clinicians to refer patients for penicillin allergy testing (PAT), (2) support patients to attend for PAT and (3) support clinicians and patients to prescribe or consume penicillin, when indicated, following a negative PAT result.
Theory-based, evidence-based and person-based approaches were used in the intervention development. We used evidence from a rapid review, two qualitative studies, and expert consultations with the clinical research team to identify the intervention 'guiding principles' and develop an intervention plan. Barriers and facilitators to the target behaviours were mapped to behaviour change theory in order to describe the proposed mechanisms of change. In the final stage, think-aloud interviews were conducted to optimise intervention materials.
The collated evidence showed that the key barriers to refvioural intervention package designed to address the multiple barriers to uptake of PAT in general practice by clinicians and patients. The intervention development details how behaviour change techniques have been incorporated to hypothesise how the intervention is likely to work to help amend incorrect penicillin allergy records. The intervention will go on to be tested in a feasibility trial and randomised controlled trial in England.
UK exercise referral schemes (ERSs) have been criticised for focusing too **** on exercise prescription and not enough on sustainable physical activity (PA) behaviour change. Previously, a theoretically grounded intervention (coproduced PA referral scheme, Co-PARS) was coproduced to support long-term PA behaviour change in individuals with health conditions. CRD42019125804. To develop a behavioural intervention package to support clinicians and patients to amend incorrect penicillin allergy records in general practice. The intervention aimed to (1) support clinicians to refer patients for penicillin allergy testing (PAT), (2) support patients to attend for PAT and (3) support clinicians and patients to prescribe or consume penicillin, when indicated, following a negative PAT result. Theory-based, evidence-based and person-based approaches were used in the intervention development. We used evidence from a rapid review, two qualitative studies, and expert consultations with the clinical research team to identify the intervention 'guiding principles' and develop an intervention plan. Barriers and facilitators to the target behaviours were mapped to behaviour change theory in order to describe the proposed mechanisms of change. In the final stage, think-aloud interviews were conducted to optimise intervention materials. The collated evidence showed that the key barriers to refvioural intervention package designed to address the multiple barriers to uptake of PAT in general practice by clinicians and patients. The intervention development details how behaviour change techniques have been incorporated to hypothesise how the intervention is likely to work to help amend incorrect penicillin allergy records. The intervention will go on to be tested in a feasibility trial and randomised controlled trial in England. Overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) has been implicated in inflammatory activities and tumorigenesis in oral submucous fibrosis (OSF). Nuclear receptor coactivator 7 (NCOA7) is capable of regulating cellular responses to ROS. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of NCOA7 in endothelial cells and the role of NCOA7 in areca nut-induced endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT).
Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence were used to detect the expression of NCOA7 in endothelia. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were treated with various dosages of arecoline (0, 5, 10, 20 μg/mL); then NCOA7 expression, the correlation of NCOA7 with EndMT, and the potential signaling were analyzed by using small interfering RNA (siRNA) transfection, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, Western blotting, and flow cytometry.
NCOA7 was significantly elevated in OSF tissues, as detected with immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. After arecoline treatment, NCOA7 expression and EndMT were induced in HUVECs. Transfection of HUVECs with si-NCOA7, which reduced 73% of NCOA7 expression, aggravated the arecoline-induced EndMT process. Inhibition of ROS markedly, but not completely, reverses this arecoline-induced EndMT in si-NCOA7 cells.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare myeloid-origin neoplasm characterized by the expansion and dissemination of CD1 a+/CD207+ dendritic cells (LCH cells), but the rarity of its occurrence has long impeded progress in understanding its pathology. We focus on the potentially important role that regulatory T cells (T-reg) play in the oral and maxillofacial LCH tumor microenvironment (TME).
Nine cases of oral and maxillofacial LCH, diagnosed from 2009 to 2019, were collected retrospectively from the affiliated hospitals of Southern Medical University. Immunohistochemistry was conducted characterizing T cells and T-reg phenotype. Data were evaluated by 1-sample Wilcoxon's test.
Significantly increased frequency and abnormal distributions of T-reg were identified in all the LCH lesion sections. Proliferating T-reg account for a mean average of 11.5% of the total T-cell subsets, with significant difference (Wilcoxon's test; P < .05).

The purpose of this study was to assess compliance with fetal fibronectin (fFN) testing recommendations at a single tertiary care perinatal centre. The secondary objective was to identify factors associated with compliance with these recommendations.
A retrospective cohort study was conducted from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 of all patients who presented to the IWK Health Centre with suspected preterm labour. Inclusion criteria included symptoms of preterm labour prior to 37
weeks gestation, singleton or multiple pregnancy, and established fetal wellbeing. Exclusion criteria included severe fetal anomaly, contraindications to tocolysis, transfer from community hospital, or inadequate documentation. Provider compliance was evaluated to determine 1) whether the test was performed for appropriate indications according to provincial fFN guidelines; 2) whether fFN results were appropriately being used to inform patient care. Logistic regression was used to determine factors associated with compliance.
A total of 528 patients presented with symptoms of preterm labour. The overall compliance with testing recommendations was 76.1%. Compliance for patients who met criteria for fFN testing was 73%, and compliance for those not meeting criteria was 76.4%. Of patients with a negative fFN result, 85.3% were appropriately discharged home without intervention. Gestational age, time of day, and non-obstetrician provider type were found to be associated with compliance.
Despite regional and national guidelines, this study demonstrates a compliance rate of 76% in our centre, indicating a gap in provider knowledge regarding proper use and interpretation of fFN. Non-obstetrician provider type was associated with decreased compliance.

Lower urinary excretion of the kidney tubule-specific biomarker epidermal growth factor (uEGF) is associated with increased risk of renal function [glomerular filtration rate (GFR)] loss in diabetes and in patients with established chronic kidney disease (CKD). We investigated whether uEGF is associated with rapid GFR decline or incident CKD in the general population.
Subjects without CKD or diabetes were recruited from the general population in Tromso, Norway [Renal Iohexol Clearance Survey (RENIS); N = 1249] and Groningen, the Netherlands [Prevention of REnal and Vascular END-stage disease (PREVEND); N = 4534], with a median follow-up of 5.6 and 7.4 years, respectively. GFR was measured by iohexol clearance in the RENIS and estimated using the CKD Epidemiology Collaboration creatinine-cystatin C equation in the PREVEND study. Rapid GFR decline was defined as an annual GFR loss >3.0 mL/min/1.73 m2 and in sensitivity analyses as subjects with the 10% steepest GFR slope within each cohort.

CDDR is based on the introduction and subsequent resolution of one or two DSB(s) in an intrachromosomal fluorescent reporter following the expression of Cas9 and sgRNAs targeting the reporter. CDDR can discriminate between high-fidelity (HF) and error-prone non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ), as well as between proximal and distal NHEJ repair. Furthermore, CDDR can detect homology-directed repair (HDR) with high sensitivity. Using CDDR, we found HF-NHEJ to be strictly dependent on DNA Ligase IV, XRCC4 and XLF, members of the canonical branch of NHEJ pathway (c-NHEJ). Loss of these genes also stimulated HDR, and promoted error-prone distal end-joining. Deletion of the DNA repair kinase ATM, on the other hand, stimulated HF-NHEJ and suppressed HDR. These findings demonstrate the utility of CDDR in characterizing the effect of repair factors and in elucidating the balance between competing DSB repair pathways.
The long non-coding RNA plays an important role in inflammation and autoimmune diseases. The aim of this study is to screen and identify abnormally expressed lncRNAs in peripheral blood neutrophils of SLE patients as novel biomarkers and to explore the relationship between lncRNAs levels and clinical features, disease activity and organ damage.
RNA-seq technology was used to screen differentially expressed lncRNAs in neutrophils from SLE patients and healthy donors. Based on the results of screening, candidate lncRNA levels in neutrophils of 88 SLE patients, 35 other connective disease controls, and 78 healthy controls were qualified by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction.
LncRNA expression profiling revealed 360 up-regulated lncRNAs and 224 down-regulated lncRNAs in neutrophils of SLE patients when compared with healthy controls. qPCR assay validated that the expression of Lnc-FOSB-11 was significantly decreased in neutrophils of SLE patients when compared with other CTD patients or healthy controls. It correlated negatively with SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI-2K) score (r = -0.541, P < 0.001) and IFN scores (r = -0.337, P = 0.001). More importantly, decreased Lnc-FOSB-11 expression was associated with lupus nephritis. Lower baseline Lnc-FOSB-11 level was associated with higher risk of future renal involvement (within an average of 2.6 years) in patients without renal disease at baseline (P = 0.019).

The Project Score database currently allows users to investigate the fitness effect of 18 009 genes tested across 323 cancer cell models. Through interactive interfaces, users can investigate data by selecting a specific gene, cancer cell model or tissue type, as well as browsing all gene fitness scores. The Project Score database (https//score.depmap.sanger.ac.uk/) uses genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 dropout screening data in hundreds of highly annotated cancer cell models to identify genes required for cell fitness and prioritize novel oncology targets. The Project Score database currently allows users to investigate the fitness effect of 18 009 genes tested across 323 cancer cell models. Through interactive interfaces, users can investigate data by selecting a specific gene, cancer cell model or tissue type, as well as browsing all gene fitness scores. Additionally, users can identify and rank candidate drug targets based on an established oncology target prioritization pipeline, incorporating genetic biomarkers and clinical datasets for each target, and including suitability for drug development based on pharmaceutical tractability. To investigate the correlation between the four dimensions of Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) constructs in a dental patient population.
A cross-sectional study carried out at HealthPartners, Minnesota, USA. This study is a secondary data analysis of available adult dental patients' data. The instruments used to assess the OHRQoL and HRQoL constructs were the Oral Health Impact Profile-version with 49 items (OHIP-49) and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures Information System (PROMIS) measures v.1.1 Global Health instruments Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), respectively. We used Structural Equation Modeling to determine the correlation between OHRQoL and HRQoL.
Two thousand and seventy-six dental patients participated in the study. OHRQoL and HRQoL scores correlated with 0.56 (95%CI0.52-0.60). To assess the psychometric properties of the Croatian version of a Work Ability Index Questionnaire (WAIQ-CRO) in the population of nurses by using a specific methodological approach.
A cross-sectional survey was conducted in a sample of 711 Croatian nurses in 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia. The instrument's internal consistency was assessed by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α). The factor structure was verified by confirmatory (CFA) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA), with the assumption of a single-factor structure. To ensure the equality of importance of items in the assessment, the item-specific scores were transformed.
The internal consistency of the instrument was satisfactory (α=0.71). CFA showed poor first model (Model-1) compatibility data (p<0.001, CFI=0.85, GFI=0.93, RMSEA=0.13). The modificated indexes suggested the introduction of correlation parameters residual variances of results from WAIQ-CRO Item-1 and Item-2. After introducing these covariances, the index model assentation (Model-ree-factor structure can direct decision-makers to which segment to locate interventions.
Previous studies among the Serbian population concluded that the trend of self-medication with tranquillizers and sleeping pills requires deeper study. The objective is to identify gender differences in socio-demographic, health, and health service predictors of self-medication with tranquillizers and sleeping pills in a Serbian population of 15 years old and above.
This was a population-based, cross-sectional study. Data was extracted from the most recently available results of the Serbian National Health Survey of 2013. Multivariate logistic regression was used to determine independent self-medication predictors.
The study included 14,623 participants, of which 51.77% were female. While 5.6% of the females reported self-medication with tranquillizers and sleeping pills, only 2.2% of males reported such practice (p<0.001). The presence of chronic disease, stress, and physical pain in the last month before the interview was significantly associated with an increased likelihood of self-medication withon, and the prevention of such undesirable practices through evidence-based and appropriately tailored public health actions.
An effective leadership is critical to the development of a safety culture within an organization. With this study, the authors wanted to assess the self-perceived level of safety culture among the employees with a leadership function in the Ljubljana Community Health Centre.
This was a cross-sectional study in the largest community health centre in Slovenia. We sent an invitation to all employees with a leadership role (N=211). The Slovenian version of the SAQ - Short Form as a measurement of a safety culture was used. The data on demographic characteristics (gender, age, role, work experience, working hours, and location of work) were also collected. An electronic survey was used.
The final sample consisted of 154 (69.7%) participants, out of which 136 (88.3%) were women. The mean age and standard deviation of the sample was 46.2±10.5 years. The average scores for the safety culture domains on a scale from 1 to 5 were 4.1±0.6 for Teamwork Climate, Safety Climate, and Working Conditions and Satisfaction, 3.7±0.5 for Perception of Management, 3.6±0.4 for Communication, and 3.5±0.6 for Stress Recognition.
The safety culture among leaders in primary healthcare organizations in Slovenia is perceived as positive. There is also a strong organizational culture. Certain improvements are needed, especially in the field of communication and stress recognition with regards to safety culture.
