We developed an integrated genome-scale metabolic model of normal human bronchial epithelial cells (NHBE) infected with SARS-CoV-2 using gene-expression and macromolecular make-up of the virus. The reconstructed model predicts growth rates of the virus in high agreement with the experimental measured values. Furthermore, we report a method for conducting genome-scale differential flux analysis (GS-DFA) in context-specific metabolic models. We apply the method to the context-specific model and identify severely affected metabolic modules predominantly comprising of lipid metabolism. We conduct an integrated analysis of the flux-altered reactions, host-virus protein-protein interaction network and phospho-proteomics data to understand the mechanism of flux alteration in host cells. We show that several enzymes driving the altered reactions inferred by our method to be directly interacting with viral proteins and also undergoing differential phosphorylation under diseased state. In case of SARS-CoV-2 infection, lipid metabolism particularly fatty acid oxidation, cholesterol biosynthesis and beta-oxidation cycle along with arachidonic acid metabolism are predicted to be most affected which confirms with clinical metabolomics studies. GS-DFA can be applied to existing repertoire of high-throughput proteomic or transcriptomic data in diseased condition to understand metabolic deregulation at the level of flux.New and more efficient methods to sustainably intensify Aquaculture production are essential to attain the seafood demand for direct human consumption in the near future. We demonstrated the first case of false-positive dengue NS1 antigen in a Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patient. A 36-year-old male competitive powerlifter sustained asynchronous bilateral Achilles tendon ruptures after using 2 types of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs). Both tendon ruptures occurred near the myotendinous junction and were treated with open surgical repair and an initial period of immobilization followed by progressive weightbearing and rehabilitation; no postoperative complications were observed.

However, despite these advantages, as it is a live attenuated virus vaccine, there is the possibility of mutations that confer neurovirulence. Therefore, surveillance for acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) is important, whether associated with live vaccines (VAPP) or vaccine-derived viruses (VDPV). In this review we present important data from Latin America in recent years, where data on VDPV of community transmission, of ambiguous origin and associated with immunodeficiencies are reviewed. Due to the presence of VDPV, it is important to strengthen the epidemiological surveillance system for AFP, with data **** lower than those recommended in recent years in the Americas. Additionally, it is essential to improve vaccination coverage to reduce the number of infants at risk of acquiring poliomyelitis. Consequently, we present the vaccination coverage rates with the inactivated vaccine against poliovirus (IPV) in the region and analyze the vaccination programs against poliomyelitis in accordance with the recommendations of the Latin American Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (SLIPE; minimum 3 doses of IPV) and the WHO Strategic Advisory Expert Group (SAGE) on Immunization (minimum 2 doses of IPV). The study concludes with recommendations from the authors for the change from OPV to exclusive use of IPV, to increase vaccination coverage and to strengthen surveillance for AFP in the region.
Human papillomavirus (HPV) produces the most frequent sexually transmitted viral infection in the world. A strategy to reduce infection rates for this virus is vaccination to young women between 9 and 13 years, so it is imperative to ensure the highest degree of acceptability to the vaccine.
To determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and beliefs associated with the acceptability of the HPV vaccine in the parents of a rural and urban area of ​​the Huanuco.

Serology (western blot) was performed in 20 patients being positive in 11; 38 were definitive NCC and 8 probable. Eighteen patients received only symptomatic treatment, 27 antiparasitic treatment and 6, additionally neurosurgical treatment. Only one patient died.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are known to be secreted by various cells. In particular, mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived EVs (****EVs) have tissue repair capacity and anti-inflammatory properties. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs), which are **** isolated from pulp tissue, are less invasive to the body than other **** and can be collected from young individuals. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of EVs secreted by DPSCs (DPSC-EVs) for bone formation.
DPSC-EVs were isolated from the cell culture medium of DPSCs. DPSC-EVs were unilaterally injected along with collagen (COL), beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) or hydroxyapatite (HA) into rat calvarial bone defects. The effects of DPSC-EVs were analyzed by micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and histological observation.
Micro-CT showed that administration of DPSC-EVs with the abovementioned scaffolds resulted in bone formation in the periphery of the defects. DPSC-EVs/COL specifically resulted in bone formation in the center of the defects. Histological observation revealed that DPSC-EVs/COL promoted new bone formation. Administration of DPSC-EVs/COL had almost the same effect on the bone defect site as transplantation of DPSCs/COL.

This study focused on three commercial ELISA tests with the following objectives (1) assess their sensitivity and specificity in sheep, goats and cattle, (2) assess the between- and within-herd seroprevalence distribution in these species, accounting for diagnostic errors, and (3) estimate optimal sample sizes considering sensitivity and specificity at herd level. We comparatively tested 1413 cattle, 1474 goat and 1432 sheep serum samples collected in France. We analyzed the cross-classified test results with a hierarchical zero-inflated beta-binomial latent class model considering each herd as a population and conditional dependence as a fixed effect. Potential biases and coverage probabilities of the model were assessed by simulation. Conditional dependence for truly seropositive animals was high in all species for two of the three ELISA methods. This study evaluated the role of classical PKCs and potential downstream targets on the osteogenic differentiation of DFCs.

Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs), which are MSCs isolated from pulp tissue, are less invasive to the body than other MSCs and can be collected from young individuals. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of EVs secreted by DPSCs (DPSC-EVs) for bone formation. DPSC-EVs were isolated from the cell culture medium of DPSCs. DPSC-EVs were unilaterally injected along with collagen (COL), beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) or hydroxyapatite (HA) into rat calvarial bone defects. The effects of DPSC-EVs were analyzed by micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and histological observation. Micro-CT showed that administration of DPSC-EVs with the abovementioned scaffolds resulted in bone formation in the periphery of the defects. DPSC-EVs/COL specifically resulted in bone formation in the center of the defects. Histological observation revealed that DPSC-EVs/COL promoted new bone formation. Extracted teeth are not discarded but recycled and used in block or particulate form for lateral ridge augmentation before implant insertion. Due to the growth factors contained in the dentin and the autologous origin, a stable and good osseointegration of the augmentation material can be expected. This case report demonstrates how the dentin of an autologous wisdom tooth is used for lateral ridge augmentation in area 15 in a 30-year old female patient. The patient was successfully rehabilitated with an implant afterwards. Even though the indication range is limited due to the availability of dentin and the size of the defect, the procedure represents a promising and comparatively minimally invasive autologous augmentation procedure to expand the oral surgical field in regenerative dentistry.
Data describing the effects of weight change across adulthood on asthma are important for the prevention of asthma. This study aimed to investigate the association between weight change from early to middle adulthood and risk of incident asthma.
Using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), we performed a nationally retrospective cohort study of the U.S. general population. A total of 20,771 people aged 40-74years with recalled weight at young and middle adulthood were included in the cohort. Four weight change groups were categorized stable non-obesity, non-obesity to obesity, obesity to non-obesity, and stable obesity. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) relating weight change to incident asthma over 10years of follow-up were calculated using Cox models adjusting for covariates.
Compared with the stable non-obesity group, the HRs of incident asthma were 1.63 (95% CI = 1.29 to 2.07, P < 0.001) for the non-obesity to obesity group, 1.41 (95% CI = 0.97 to 2.05, P = 0.075) for stable obesity group, and 1.21 (95% CI = 0.41 to 3.62, P = 0.730) for the obesity to non-obesity group. In addition, participants who gained more than 20kg from young to middle adulthood had a HR of 1.53 (95% CI = 1.15 to 2.03, P = 0.004), compared with those whose weight remained stable (weight change within 2.5kg).

Equity in patients in regard to healthcare utilization and medical costs are recognized as a significant factor influencing medical quality and health system responsiveness. The aim of this study is to understand the equity in stroke patients concerning medical costs and healthcare utilization, as well asidentify potential factors contributing to geographic variation in stroke patients' healthcare utilization and costs.
Covering 31 provinces in mainland China, our main data were a 5% random sample of stroke claims from Urban Employees Basic Medical Insurance (UEBMI) and Urban Residents Basic Medical Insurance (URBMI) from 2013 to 2016. The Theil index was employed to evaluate the equity in stroke patients in regard to healthcare utilization and medical costs, and the random-effect panel model was used to explore the impact of province-level factors (health resource factors, enabling factors, and economic factoban health insurance schemes require further reform to ensure better equity in healthcare utilization and medical costs for stroke patients. Improving education attainment, offering equal access to healthcare, allocating health resources reasonably and balancing health services prices in different regions also count.
Annually 1.5 million Americans face housing insecurity, and compared to their domiciled counterparts are three times more likely to utilize the Emergency Department (ED). Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) methods have been employed in underserved populations, but use in the ED has been limited. We employed CBPR in an urban American hospital with a primary goal of improved linkage to care, reduced ED recidivism, and improved homeless health care.
A needs analysis was performed using semi-structured individual interviews with participants experiencing homelessness as well as with stakeholders. Results were analyzed using principles of grounded theory. At the end of the interviews, respondents were invited to join the "CBPR team". At CBPR team meetings, results from interviews were expounded upon and discussions on intervention development were conducted.
Twenty-five stakeholders were interviewed including people experiencing housing insecurity, ED staff, inpatient staff, and community sheltershousing insecurity, reinforced relationships between ED and community resources, and better discharge planning.
CBPR is a promising approach to address gaps in homeless health care as it provides a comprehensive view incorporating various critical perspectives. Key ED-based interventions addressing recidivism include improved identification of housing insecurity, reinforced relationships between ED and community resources, and better discharge planning.
Brassica oleracea includes several morphologically diverse, economically important vegetable crops, such as the cauliflower and cabbage. However, genetic variants, especially large structural variants (SVs), that underlie the extreme morphological diversity of B. oleracea remain largely unexplored.
Here we present high-quality chromosome-scale genome assemblies for two B. oleracea morphotypes, cauliflower and cabbage. Direct comparison of these two assemblies identifies ~ 120 K high-confidence SVs. Population analysis of 271 B. oleracea accessions using these SVs clearly separates different morphotypes, suggesting the association of SVs with B. oleracea intraspecific divergence. Previous studies have focused on the toxicology of high copper exposure, while there has been comparatively less research on the biological effects of low copper exposure. Low concentrations of copper often exist in freshwater ecosystems, and its impact on the fish is unclear. Both Xenocypris microlepis and Xenocypris davidi are bottom-feeding fishes widely distributed in freshwater ecosystems of China, and they are more likely to be contaminated by low concentrations of copper. Low copper exposure may have effects on molecular regulation at the level of gene expression in the two Xenocypris species. To investigate gene expression differences involved in the response to low copper concentrations between X. microlepis and X. davidi, we established the responses to low copper exposure of 0.01 mg/L for 14 days at the transcriptional level, and RNA-Seq was used to perform a comparative transcriptomic analysis of the liver. A total of 74,135 and 60,894 unigenes from X. microlepis and X. davidi were assembled by transcriptome profiling, respectively. Among these, 84 genes of X. microlepis and 165 genes of X. davidi were identified as differentially expressed genes (DEGs). There were 60 and 135 up-regulated, 24 and 30 down-regulated genes in the two species, respectively. Comparative transcriptome analyses identified five differentially co-expressed genes (DCGs) related to low copper exposure from the DEGs of the two Xenocypris species. The five DCGs were related to the fishes' growth, antioxidant system, immune system and heavy metal tolerance. Previous studies have focused on the toxicology of high copper exposure, while there has been comparatively less research on the biological effects of low copper exposure. Low concentrations of copper often exist in freshwater ecosystems, and its impact on the fish is unclear. Both Xenocypris microlepis and Xenocypris davidi are bottom-feeding fishes widely distributed in freshwater ecosystems of China, and they are more likely to be contaminated by low concentrations of copper. Low copper exposure may have effects on molecular regulation at the level of gene expression in the two Xenocypris species. To investigate gene expression differences involved in the response to low copper concentrations between X. microlepis and X. davidi, we established the responses to low copper exposure of 0.01 mg/L for 14 days at the transcriptional level, and RNA-Seq was used to perform a comparative transcriptomic analysis of the liver. A total of 74,135 and 60,894 unigenes from X. microlepis and X. davidi were assembled by transcriptome profiling, respectively. Among these, 84 genes of X. microlepis and 165 genes of X. davidi were identified as differentially expressed genes (DEGs). There were 60 and 135 up-regulated, 24 and 30 down-regulated genes in the two species, respectively. Comparative transcriptome analyses identified five differentially co-expressed genes (DCGs) related to low copper exposure from the DEGs of the two Xenocypris species. The five DCGs were related to the fishes' growth, antioxidant system, immune system and heavy metal tolerance. Exercise is recommended to improve glycaemic control. Yet, individual changes in glycaemic control following exercise can vary greatly, meaning while some significantly improve others, coined 'non-responders', do not. Increasing the intensity of exercise may 'rescue' non-responders and help generate a response to training. This trial will identify non-responders to changes in glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) across inactive individuals living with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes mellitus following an aerobic exercise programme and evaluate if increasing training intensity will elicit beneficial changes to 'rescue' previously categorised non-responders.
This study will recruit 60 participants for a two-phase aerobic exercise training programme. Participants will be allocated to a control group or assigned to an intervention group. Control participants will maintain their current lifestyle habits. During phase 1, intervention participants will complete 16 weeks of aerobic exercise at an intensity of 4.5 metabolic equivalents (METs) for 150 min per week. Participants will then be categorised as responders or non-responders based on the change in HbA1c. For phase 2, participants will be blocked based on responder status and randomly allocated to a maintained intensity, or increased intensity group for 12 weeks. The maintained group will continue to train at 4.5 METs, while the increased intensity group will train at 6.0 METs for 150 min per week.
Results will be presented at scientific meetings and submitted to peer-reviewed journals. Publications and presentations related to the study will be authorised and reviewed by all investigators. Findings from this study will be used to provide support for future randomised control trials. All experimental procedures have been approved by the Research Ethics Board at the University of New Brunswick (REB 2018-168).

Quad bikes are four-wheeled vehicles, driven off-road on uneven terrains by farmers for work or young adults for leisure. Quad bike accidental crashes result mostly due to the unique ecosystem of uneven terrain, where these unstable vehicles are commonly driven, in addition to numerous distinctive sociodemographic characteristics related to drivers. This is a protocol for a systematic review of observational studies from all geographical regions and demographic groups in the world to summarise the common risk factors relating to quad bike crashes.
A comprehensive search for the literature on quad bike crashes and related injuries will be conducted in six electronic databases PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE and PsycINFO. Proquest Dissertation and Thesis, OpenGrey and BASE will be searched for grey literature. Five researchers will be involved in the screening, and the review of full text articles, using the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Disagreements between reviewers will be resolved by discourse. Three researchers will help resolving conflicts that may arise during the screening process and will resolve eventual conflicts identified in the process with the help of the systematic review software 'Covidence' for automatic deduplication and blinded screening. Information on crashes leading to injuries and death, target population characteristics and risk factors involved will be extracted from eligible articles in addition to the assessment of the quality of the researched articles.
Since this is a systematic review of published literature, a formal ethical approval is not needed. Results of the review will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations and reports to the concerned authorities.

Determine the effectiveness of digital mental health interventions for individuals with a concomitant chronic disease.
We conducted a rapid review of systematic reviews. Two reviewers independently conducted study selection and risk of bias evaluation. A standardised extraction form was used. Data are reported narratively.
We included systematic reviews of digital health interventions aiming to prevent, detect or manage mental health problems in individuals with a pre-existing chronic disease, including chronic mental health illnesses, published in 2010 or after.
Reports on mental health outcomes (eg, anxiety symptoms and depression symptoms).
We included 35 reviews, totalling 702 primary studies with a total sample of 50 692 participants. We structured the results in four population clusters (1) chronic diseases, (2) cancer, (3) mental health and (4) children and youth. To explore the acceptability of home visual field (VF) testing using Eyecatcher among people with glaucoma participating in a 6-month home monitoring pilot study.
Qualitative study using face-to-face semistructured interviews. Transcripts were analysed using thematic analysis.
Participants were recruited in the UK through an advertisement in the International Glaucoma Association (now Glaucoma UK) newsletter.
Twenty adults (10 women; median age 71 years) with a diagnosis of glaucoma were recruited (including open angle and normal tension glaucoma; mean deviation=2.5 to -29.9 dB).
All participants could successfully perform VF testing at home. Interview data were coded into four overarching themes regarding experiences of undertaking VF home monitoring and attitudes towards its wider implementation in healthcare (1) comparisons between Eyecatcher and Humphrey Field Analyser (HFA); (2) capability using Eyecatcher; (3) practicalities for effective wider scale implementation; (4) motivations for home monitoring.

Neonatal mitochondrial disease is occasionally observed in patients with intraventricular cysts in the brain. Atypical morphology is rarely seen in these cysts. Here, we report a case of neonatal lethal mitochondrial disease with IBA57 gene mutation. We have, for the first time, described a subependymal pseudocyst (SEPC) with a fluctuating membrane. Our findings suggest that SEPCs with fluctuating membranes can be a potential diagnostic indicator of neonatal mitochondrial disease.

Osteoporosis predisposes patients undergoing thoracolumbar (TL) fusion to complications and revision surgery. Cement augmentation (CA) improves fixation of pedicle screws to reduce these complications. The goal of this study was to determine the value and cost-effectiveness of CA in TL fusion surgery.
A systematic literature review was performed using an electronic database search to identify articles discussing the cost or value of CA. As limited information was available, the review was expanded to determine the mean cost of primary TL fusion, revision TL fusion, and the prevalence of revision TL fusion to determine the decrease of revision surgery necessary to make CA cost-effective.
Two studies were identified discussing the cost and value of CA. The mean cost of CA for two vertebral levels was $10 508, while primary TL fusion was $87 346 and revision TL fusion was $76 825. Using a mean revision rate of 15.4%, the use of CA for TL fusion would need to decrease revision rates by 13.7% to be cost-effective. Comparison studies showed a decreased revision rate of 11.3% with CA, which approaches this value.

The costs of CA are substantial and reported decreases in revision rates approach but do not reach the calculated value to be a cost-effective technique. There have been substantial increases in the utilization of complex spinal surgery in the last 20 years. Spinal instrumented surgery is associated with high costs as well as significant variation in approach and care. The objective of this manuscript is to identify and review drivers of instrumented spine surgery cost and explain how surgeons can reduce costs without compromising outcome.
A literature search was conducted using PubMed. The literature review returned 217 citations. 27 publications were found to meet the inclusion criteria. The relevant literature on drivers of spine instrumented surgery cost is reviewed.
The drivers of cost in instrumented spine surgery are varied and include implant costs, complications, readmissions, facility-based costs, surgeon-driven preferences, and patient comorbidities. Each major cost driver represents an opportunity for potential reductions in cost. With high resource utilization and often uncertain outcomes, spinal surgery has been heavily scrutinized by payers and hospital systems, with efforts to reduce costs and standardize surgical approach and care pathways.
Education about cost and commitment to standardization would be useful strategies to reduce cost without compromising patient-reported outcomes after instrumented spinal fusion.

A systematic review was conducted inclusive of all publications in the Medline database and Cochrane CENTRAL trials register within the last 10 years (English language only) assessing the cost-effectiveness of Spinal Cord Stimulator device implantation (SCSdi) in patients with previous lumbar fusion surgery.
The majority of reviewed publications that analyzed cost-effectiveness of SCSdi compared to conventional medical management (CMM) or re-operation in patients with failed **** surgery syndrome (FBSS) showed an overall increase in direct medical costs; these increased costs were found in nearly all cases to be offset by significant improvements in patient quality of life. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/AZD2281(Olaparib).html The cost required to achieve these increases in quality adjusted life years (QALY) falls well below $25 000/QALY, a conservative estimate of willingness to pay.

Future studies will need to focus on the optimal CA technique to decrease complications, revisions, and costs. Review article. There have been substantial increases in the utilization of complex spinal surgery in the last 20 years. Spinal instrumented surgery is associated with high costs as well as significant variation in approach and care. The objective of this manuscript is to identify and review drivers of instrumented spine surgery cost and explain how surgeons can reduce costs without compromising outcome. A literature search was conducted using PubMed. The literature review returned 217 citations. 27 publications were found to meet the inclusion criteria. The relevant literature on drivers of spine instrumented surgery cost is reviewed. The drivers of cost in instrumented spine surgery are varied and include implant costs, complications, readmissions, facility-based costs, surgeon-driven preferences, and patient comorbidities. Each major cost driver represents an opportunity for potential reductions in cost. With high resource utilization and often uncertain outcomes, spinal surgery has been heavily scrutinized by payers and hospital systems, with efforts to reduce costs and standardize surgical approach and care pathways. Education about cost and commitment to standardization would be useful strategies to reduce cost without compromising patient-reported outcomes after instrumented spinal fusion. A systematic review was conducted inclusive of all publications in the Medline database and Cochrane CENTRAL trials register within the last 10 years (English language only) assessing the cost-effectiveness of Spinal Cord Stimulator device implantation (SCSdi) in patients with previous lumbar fusion surgery. Depression is among the most prevalent perinatal complications, yet modifiable risk factors remain elusive. Over half of perinatal women endorse clinical insomnia symptoms, which are etiologically implicated in depression in nonperinatal samples. Yet, prospective data on perinatal insomnia and depression are mixed. We sought to clarify temporal associations of insomnia and depression during peripartum, and to investigate cognitive arousal as a potential mechanism facilitating this relationship.
Seventy pregnant women completed sociodemographic information and baseline sleep and mood symptoms between gestational weeks 25 and 30. Beginning at gestational week 30, participants completed 17 weekly online surveys assessing insomnia, depression, and three cognitive arousal indices (nocturnal cognitive arousal, perseverative thinking, and perinatal-focused rumination). Mixed effects models were conducted to test hypotheses.
Women were at risk for depression when experiencing insomnia (odds ratio [OR] = 2.36, 9al, including ruminating on perinatal concerns while trying to fall asleep, fuels insomnia. In turn, lying awake at night provides an opportunity for nocturnal cognitive arousal. This cycle feeds perinatal depression. Daytime cognitive arousal may indirectly disrupt sleep as perseverating during the day persists into the night.

This study aims to describe the RRs and proportions of mortality associated with wasting and stunting and the pathways into and out of these nutritional states.
Longitudinal growth data sets collected for children ages 0-24 months from Malawi, South Africa, and Pakistan were combined (n=5088). Children were classified as deceased, wasted (weight for height < -2 SD; 1-4%), stunted (length < -2SD; 20-47%), or wasted and stunted (WaSt; 2-5%) at ages 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24 months. Mixed-effects Cox models were used to study the association between nutritional status and mortality.
By age 3 months, 20% of children were already stunted, rising to 49% by 24 months, while wasting (4.2% and 2.2% at 3 months, respectively) and WaSt (0.9% and 3.7% at 24 months, respectively) were less common. The HR for mortality in WaSt was 9.5 (95% CI, 5.9-15), buter intrauterine in origin or arose in children without prior wasting. Either stunting and wasting represent alternative responses to restricted nutrition, or stunting also has other, nonnutritional causes.

To examine the extent to which self-reported experiences of discrimination are associated with pain interference among men and women with chronic non-cancer pain.
Data are from the Study of Midlife in the United States (MIDUS) Refresher Cohort. The analytic sample consisted of 207 adults with chronic pain (54.2 ± 12.8 years; 53.6% female) who completed the Major Experiences of Discrimination and Everyday Discrimination scales. Regression analyses examined cross-sectional relations between discrimination and pain interference.
On average, the level of pain interference was moderate in the sample (M = 3.46, SD = 2.66; observed range 0 - 10). Approximately a third of respondents reported at least one major discriminatory event in their lifetime, while 22% reported 3 or more discriminatory lifetime events. Everyday discrimination scores averaged 14.19 ± 5.46 (observed range 0 - 33). Adjusting for sociodemographics, physical health, cognitive and psychological factors, social isolation, and loneliness, everyday discrimination was associated with increased pain interference (B = .099; 95% confidence interval [CI], .02 to .17).
These findings add weight to the importance of day-to-day experiences of interpersonal discrimination by documenting independent associations with functional interference in adults with chronic pain.

Here, we test a novel conceptual model discriminating between two distinct dimensions of childhood adversity (i.e., deprivation and threat) and examine their relations to dynamic stages of behavior monitoring. Sixty young healthy adults participated in this study using event-related potentials (ERPs) and the dynamic stages of behavior monitoring including response inhibition, error detection, and post-error adjustments were investigated in a classical Go/NoGo task. Multiple regression analyses revealed that participants with higher severity of childhood adversity recruited more controlled attention, as indicated by larger (more negative) conflict detection-related NoGo-N2 amplitudes and larger (more negative) error detection-related ERN amplitudes. Higher severity of childhood abuse (an indicator of threat) was related to smaller (less positive) error appraisal-related Pe amplitudes on the neural level and subsequently lower post-error accuracy on the behavioral level.

Probable reaction pathways were proposed for N-alkylation of amines, α-alkylation of ketones and synthesis of quinolines on the basis of control experiments and detection of reaction intermediates.Developing a non-precious metal electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is desirable for low-cost energy conversion devices. Herein, we designed and developed a new class of layered cation ordered single perovskite oxides (Pr0.9Ca0.1Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ) with an optimum ratio of the Co4+/Co3+ oxidation state and oxygen vacancy for oxygen electrode reactions. Catalytic activities are investigated as a function of electronic structure and surface composition. A moderate amount of Ca and Fe dopants keeps the B-site Co cations at a higher oxidation state (Co4+) and generates a vast amount of an oxygen defect rich structure. The improved performance in the ORR and OER is explained by the increase in the sites of Co4+ cations, a state responsible for enhanced catalytic activity. A hypothesis for how doped Ca fraction affects the adsorbed oxygen species and contributes to catalytic activity is discussed. This work sheds light on the influence of crystal structure on the catalytic property and reports that ORR and OER activities are affected not only by oxygen vacancy concentration but also by the oxidation state of the transition metal in the perovskite oxide.The present paper reports on the use of TiN nanopillars as a robust analytical substrate for laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS). Intact molecular signals were detected with low noise interference and no fragmentation. The developed TiN-nanopillar-based approach extends the applicable mass limit to 150 kDa (immunoglobulin G) and was able to detect trypsinogen (24 kDa) at levels as low as 50 fmol μL-1 with adequate shot-to-shot signal reproducibility. The complexes exhibit a strong trans influence in solution, where the Pt-Pt bond lengthens with increasing axial ligand σ-donor strength. In the diaqua complex, where the solvent effect is more pronounced, the SSCCs averaged for CPMD configurations with explicit plus implicit solvation agree **** better with the experimental data, while the calculations for static geometry and CPMD unsolvated configurations show large deviations with respect to experiment. The combination of CPMD with hybrid KS NMR calculations provides a **** more realistic computational model that reproduces the large magnitudes of 1JPtPt and 195Pt chemical shifts. The indirect solvent effect (via structural changes) has a dramatic effect on the 1JPtPt SSCCs. The complexes exhibit a strong trans influence in solution, where the Pt-Pt bond lengthens with increasing axial ligand σ-donor strength. In the diaqua complex, where the solvent effect is more pronounced, the SSCCs averaged for CPMD configurations with explicit plus implicit solvation agree much better with the experimental data, while the calculations for static geometry and CPMD unsolvated configurations show large deviations with respect to experiment. The combination of CPMD with hybrid KS NMR calculations provides a much more realistic computational model that reproduces the large magnitudes of 1JPtPt and 195Pt chemical shifts. An analysis of 1JPtPt in terms of localized and canonical orbitals shows that the SSCCs are driven by changes in the s-character of the natural atomic orbitals of Pt atoms, which affect the 'Fermi contact' mechanism.The hydroformylation of 1-hexene with 12 bar of 1 1 H2/CO in the presence of the catalytic system [Rh(acac)(CO)2]/PPh3 was successfully studied by real-time multinuclear high-resolution FlowNMR spectroscopy at 50 °C. Quantitative reaction progress curves that yield rates as well as chemo- and regioselectivities have been obtained with varying P/Rh loadings. Dissolved H2 can be monitored in solution to ensure true operando conditions without gas limitation. 31P1H and selective excitation 1H pulse sequences have been periodically interleaved with 1H FlowNMR measurements to detect Rh-phosphine intermediates during the catalysis. Stopped-flow experiments in combination with diffusion measurements and 2D heteronuclear correlation experiments showed the known tris-phosphine complex [RhH(CO)(PPh3)3] to generate rapidly exchanging isomers of the bis-phosphine complex [Rh(CO)2(PPh3)2] under CO pressure that directly enter the catalytic cycle.
